Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Think Talk Write Untuk Meningkatkan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa MAN 1 Medan

This research aims to enhance the mathematical communication skills of students after implementing the Think Talk Write cooperative learning model. The study was conducted in the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year in class XI MIA 3 at MAN 1 Medan. The subjects of this research were 39 students from class XI MIA 3 MAN 1 Medan. The object of this research was the mathematical communication skills of students by applying the Think Talk Write learning model. The research method used was classroom action research conducted over 2 cycles. The results of the students' mathematical communication skills test showed improvement from the initial test to the tests given in Cycle I and Cycle II. In the initial test, only 1 student (2.5%) achieved proficiency with an average score of 56, categorized as low. In Cycle I, there was a classical increase, with 10 students (25.6%) achieving proficiency with an average score of 67.9, categorized as moderate. In Cycle II, there was also a classical increase, with 33 students (84.6%) achieving proficiency with an average score of 86.9, categorized as high. It can be concluded that by implementing the Think Talk Write cooperative learning model, it is possible to improve the mathematical communication skills of class XI MIA 3 students at MAN 1 Medan.

EFEKTIVITAS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTU SOFTWARE GEOGEBRA PADA MATERI PROGRAM LINEAR TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA SMA

The purpose of this research is to 1). Knowing that there are differences in students' mathematical communication abilities with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by GeoGebra Software and conventional learning models. 2) Find out which learning model is better between the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by GeoGebra Software and the conventional learning model for students' mathematical communication abilities. 3) To determine the influence of student activity on students' mathematical communication skills who use the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model assisted by GeoGebra Software. 4) To find out whether students' mathematical communication skills who use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by GeoGebra Software achieve individual or classical mastery. The research method used in this research is the Quasi Experimental method. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The instruments for collecting data in this research are Pre-test and Post-test. . The population of this study were class XI students of SMAN 1 Wedung. The N-Gain test is the data analysis technique used in this research. The results of this research show that the N-Gain score in the experimental class (PBL method assisted by GeoGebra) is 62%. Meanwhile, the N-Gain score in the control class (conventional method) was 54%. In other words, it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students who received PBL learning assisted by GeoGebra were significantly more effective than students who received learning using the conventional method

PENGARUH MODEL KOOPERATIF GALLERY WALK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIKA DITINJAU DARI SELF CONFIDENCE

This study examines whether the mathematical communitical skills of studens taught with the gallery walk cooperative learning model are effective, reviewed from the self-confidence of students in grade VII at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge. This Quasi Experiment research implements the treatment by level 2 x 2 design with a two-track analysis test and a Tukey test. The results obtain that the mathematical communication skills of students with high self-confidence in gallery walk cooperative learning are 79.86, and student with low self-confidence in direct learning are only 64.29. it can also be proven through tests with a significant level of 5% and df=33 showing tcount > tcount, 3.485, α=0.05, and ttable=2.042. in conclusion, the mathematics communication skills of student with high self=confidence that are taught by gallery walk cooperative learning are higher and more effective than students with low self-confidence that are taught by direct learning.

Mathematical Communication Ability of High School Students in the Implementation of Experiental Learning Model

The objective of this research is to determine whether the enhancement in mathematical communication skills of students instructed with the experiential learning model surpasses that of students instructed with the conventional learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental research design, with the research sample comprising one experimental class (utilizing the experiential learning model) and one control class (following the conventional approach), each consisting of 20 students. The research instrument employed is a descriptive test comprising a pretest and posttest. Based on the research data analyzed using the N-Gain hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in students' mathematical communication skills in the context of the three-variable linear equation system material. This improvement is more pronounced among students taught using the experiential learning model compared to those instructed using the conventional learning model.

MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION ABILITY OF CLASS X MIPA 1 MAN DONGGALA STUDENTS

This type of research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this research areClass X MIPA 1 MAN Donggala students consist of 4 people, each 2 male students and 2 female students who have FI cognitive style and FD cognitive style. Data on students' communication skills was obtained by written assignments and interviews. The results of the research show that the mathematical communication skills of students who have a Field Dependent cognitive style are less capable than men because they cannot achieve all the indicators. The student subject has a Field Dependent female cognitive style which is quite capable because it achieves one.The student subject has a Field Independent male cognitive style which is quite capable because it achieves two indicators.The student subject has a Field Independent female cognitive style that is capable of achieving all three indicators. So the conclusion obtained from this research is that students' mathematical communication abilities are generally said to be poor, this is because the majority of students have not met several indicators of the three indicators of students' mathematical communication abilities. This can be seen with only one student achieving all three indicators.

Implementation of Problem Based Learning Assisted by Learning Management System to Improve Students' Mathematical Communication Skills

Learning is not limited to the transfer of knowledge, but rather needs to provide opportunities for students to communicate ideas clearly in order to develop more flexible and practical abilities. The aim of the research is to determine the implementation of Problem Based Learning assisted by a Learning Management System (LMS) to improve students' mathematical communication skills. The research method uses a quantitative type, with a sample of class 1F of 23 students as the experimental class and class 1G of 24 students as the control class for the 2022/2023 even semester academic year in the D4 Electronics Engineering study program at the Malang State Polytechnic. Data collection methods such as observation and tests, where instruments are provided with observation sheets and test questions. Data analysis used the normal test, homogeneous test, proportion test, comparison test (test) and the N-gain test. The research results show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. The research indicators meet 1) Students' ability to communicate mathematics which is influenced by the treatment given through Problem Based Learning with the help of LMS reaches the minimum standard in learning both (B) individual and classical, exceeds 75%, 2) Students' ability to communicate mathematics which is influenced by the treatment given through Problem Based Learning with LMS support is better than expository learning, 3) The increase in mathematical communication skills of students who take part in Problem Based Learning with LMS support is significantly higher than expository learning, namely 0.496 in the medium category.

The Effect of Think Pair Share Learning Model with the Help of Geogebra Software on Students' Mathematical Communication Skills

The background of this study is the lack of mathematical communication skills of students. Researchers chose the think pair share cooperative learning model with the help of geogebra software to overcome this students' lack of mathematical communication skills. The purpose of this study is to determine how the implementation and whether there is an influence of the think pair share cooperative learning model with the help of geogebra software on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research (quasy experimental design) and the design used is the pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was 320 students of grade VIII MTs Negeri 1 Purbalingga. The research sample was 40 students of class VIII A as a control class and 39 students of class VIII B as an experimental class. Based on the analysis of observation sheet data, an average value of 3.38 was obtained and was located at intervals of 3.25 ≤ x ≤ 4.00 which was classified as very good. And based on the results of the t test against the post-test results that have been done, the value of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 which means that there is an average difference in mathematical communication skills between the experimental class and the control class. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the think pair share learning model with the help of geogebra software is very good, so that it can affect the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills.

High School Students' Mathematical Communication Skills Through Ethnomatematics-Based Realistic Mathematics Learning Approaches in Geometry Transformation Materials

Mathematical communication ability is the ability of students to use mathematics as a form of communication (the language of mathematics) and student's ability to convey the mathematics they learn as the content of the message to be conveyed. This study aims to describe the Mathematical Communication Skills of High School Students Through an Ethnomatematics-Based Realistic Mathematics Learning Approach on Geometry Transformation Materials. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The selection of subjects used in this study used an interpersonal intelligence questionnaire, which involved all students of class XI IIS 3 State Islamic High School 1 Pasuruan. Based on the interpersonal intelligence questionnaire scores, three subjects were selected with high, medium, and low levels of interpersonal intelligence. Then, these three subjects will examine the student's ability to draw the correct solution, explain the answer systematically, and construct a problem into a mathematical model. Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Treffinger Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi

Mathematics is a subject that must be mastered by students at school. But the reality is that SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi students suffer from learning difficulties because of the mathematical communication skills of the students who are still in the category. So, the student is unable to communicate his ideas and ideas without the teacher's involvement. The aim of this study was to find out the influence of Trefffinger's learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is experimental research using experimental methods (quasy experimental research). The research population was a whole of class VIII students consisting of 4 classes with samples of 2 classes taken by random sampling, namely class VIII-3 as a control class and class VIII-4 as an experimental class. The data is collected by giving the student a mathematical communication skills test that is analyzed by guiding the student's mathematics communication ability test withdrawal. Based on the results of the research, obtained the test of the hypothesis with the value thitung = 11,687 and the value ttable = 1,67. Because thitung > ttable or 11,687>1,67 then reject Ho and accept Ha. which means “There is an effect of Treffinger's learning model on the mathematical communication skills of students in SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi

Pengaruh Self-Efficacy dan Kecemasan Matematis Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMP Negeri 1 Umbunasi

This study was motivated by the lack of self-confidence, fear, worry, discomfort, and nervousness of students during the mathematics learning process and the low mathematical communication skills of students. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and mathematical anxiety on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is correlational research with quantitative methods. The research instrumental used are self-efficacy questionnaire, mathematical anxiety questionnaire and mathematical communication ability test. The population in this study amounted to 43 people with a sample size of 39 people taken using probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the study, obtained in the First hypothesis the value of tcount(3.9116) >ttabel (0.0631) with H0 rejected and Ha accepted which if students' self-efficacy is higher then students' mathematical communication skills are also higher and vice versa. In the second hypothesis, the value of tcount(0.2819)>ttabel (0.0631), with H0 rejected and Ha accepted which if students' math anxiety is high then their math communication skills are low and vice versa. Concluded that the two independent variables together have a significant influence on the dependent variable with a percentage of 32.45%.

Distance Learning: GeoGebra-Learning Videos to Improving Mathematical Communication Ability

This study aims to use the GeoGebra application as a learning aid and ascertain the efficacy of learning videos in calculus education. Using a mathematical communication test, the research employs a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental technique to acquire data. This study’s sample is a second-year student enrolled at a Serang-Banten university. The sample is comprised of two divisions. One class is utilized for the control group of 25 pupils and another for the experimental group of 30. In the control group, students were only taught in an online learning environment using the Zoom Meet application without explaining GeoGebra-learning videos. The findings show differences in the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who study online using GeoGe-bra-learning videos (the experimental group) and those who get online learning without using GeoGebra- learning videos (the control group). Thus, GeoGebra-learning videos are a learning support tool that can improve students’ mathematical communication skills.

KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA MELALUI BUDAYA LITERASI DAN NUMERASI SISWA

This study identified several issues such as the lack of variation in literacy and numeracy teaching methods by teachers, the low enthusiasm of students in learning activities, low mathematical communication skills of students, inadequate application of literacy and numeracy culture by teachers, and as a result, the teaching and learning process is perceived as uninteresting by the students. The aim of this study is to identify the mathematical communication skills of students at UPTD SD Negeri 122377 Pematang Siantar through the application of literacy and numeracy culture. This study used Quasi Experiment which is one of the experimental methods. The research design used a Two Group Randomized Posttest-Only Control Design. Prior to the teaching, pre-tests were conducted on both classes. Then, both classes were taught mathematics with the topic of fractional calculation, but with different treatments. In the experimental class, teaching was carried out with the application of literacy and numeracy culture, while in the control class, the conventional teaching method was used. Literacy in this study was defined as the ability to utilize and understand various activities such as reading, listening, writing, counting, and speaking intelligently. The study population consisted of fifth-grade students in three classes with a total of 92 students. The research sample was taken from two classes with a total of 60 students using purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, test, and documentation. After the teaching process was completed, a posttest was conducted. Based on the research analysis, the following findings were obtained: 1) The mathematical communication skills of students who applied literacy and numeracy culture were better than those who used conventional methods; 2) There were differences in the improvement of mathematical communication skills between students who applied literacy and numeracy culture and those who used conventional methods; and 3) There were differences in student attitudes towards teaching using literacy and numeracy culture compared to conventional methods.

The Analysis of the Improvement of Student's Mathematical Communication Skills in Solving Problems of Circumference and Area of Circles under the Implementation of Inquiry-Based Learning

Mathematical communication skills convey and interpret mathematical ideas through drawings, tables, diagrams, formulas, or demonstrations. The inquiry-based learning model allows students to discover data, facts, and information from various sources to provide experiences. This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical communication skills, improve them using the inquiry-based learning model, and then deepen them through a description. This study uses an explanatory sequential method combining quantitative and qualitative research. The research subjects were 23 VIB students in the control class and 23 VIA students in the experimental class. The study results show that students’ mathematical communication skills are divided into weak, moderate, and strong skills. The independent sample t-test results showed a significant influence of applying the inquiry-based learning model with a sig. 0.003 (p <0.05). Strong and moderate mathematical communication skills showed an increase of 47.83% and 13.04%, while weak skill levels showed a decrease of 60.87%. The improvement of mathematical communication skills is presented as a description of observation and interview results. The research conclusion reveals that applying the inquiry-based learning model can improve students’ mathematical communication skills in solving problems of circumference and area of circles in elementary school students.

Analysis of Mathematical Communication Ability in Solving Story Problems Based on Mathematical Ability and Gender

This study aims to test the written mathematical communication skills of students who st udy mathematics material about cubes and blocks at SMP 238 Jakarta. This study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology. Data collection using tests and interview. As a test of the v alidity of the data usin the triangulation technique was carried out by comparing the results of the subject’s mathematical communication ability test with the results of the interview. The subject of this study were students of class VIII SMP 238 Jakarta, totaling 6 students who were divide into 3 groups based on high, medium, and low level of mathematicl ability. This study uses 3 indicators, namely explaining mathematical ideas, situations and relationships/in writing, explaining mathematical ideas in the form of visual images/tables/diagrams, explaining ideas of problem situations picture or real objects into the language of symbols of mathematical models/mathematical expressions. This study revealed that students with high level of mathematical ability were able to answer questions on indicators 1, 2, and 3. Subjects with low level of mathematical ability were able to answer questions on indicators 1, 2, and 3 but still did not understand and were still in complete the method used in answering.

Analisis Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematika Siswa Kelas X Fase E.1 pada Materi SPLDV

The aim of the research is to analyze students' mathematical communication. The research method used is descriptive qualitative at SMAN 1 HARAU. The sample used was 5 students randomly selected from class X phase E.1. Data collection methods in this study used tests of mathematical understanding using class written tests, and student interviews. The results of this study are that the mathematical communication skills of students in class X phase E.1 in SPLDV material are still in the low category. This can be seen from the results of the percentage scores obtained from the 4 items that have been given, where there are 2 items categorized as low with a presentation size less than 33%, and 2 items categorized as medium with a large percentage more than 33%. As well as students still having difficulty answering story questions in indicators of changing the form of story questions into mathematical models and solving them.

The Effectiveness Of Ethnomathematics-Based Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) On The Mathematical Communication Skills Of Elementary School Students

Students' mathematical communication skills are still low because students do not understand the initial concept. The application of ethnomathematics-based contextual teaching and learning (CTL) to obtain better mathematical communication skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based CTL learning on students' mathematical communication skills. The research method uses quantitative research with a quasy experimental design consisting of 2 classes, namely fifth grade students at SDN 01 Ungaran. The instruments used are in the form of essay questions and observations adapted to indicators of mathematical communication ability. The results showed that the mathematical communication skills of students who were given ethnomathematics-based CTL learning were higher than students who were given mobile learning-based learning, students' mathematical communication abilities increased after being given ethnomathematics-based CTL learning, and there was a positive influence of ethnomathematics-based CTL learning on mathematical communication abilities student. So it was concluded that ethnomathematics-based CTL learning is effective when applied to elementary school students and can facilitate students and teachers in the learning process.

DEVELOPMENTS OF INSTRUCTIONAL MODELS BASED ON MATHEMATICS COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN INTEGRAL CONCEPTS AND APPLICATIONS

The problem of this research is the low mathematical communication skills of students in integral calculus courses. The purpose of this study was to develop a learning model based on Mathematical Communication skills on integral concepts and applications, and to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of learning models based on Mathematical Communication skills on integral concepts and applications. This research method is a research and development method. The research subjects were 43 students of the Mathematics Education Department at Halu Oleo University. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews and test techniques. Data analysis was carried out in a quantitative and qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the data analysis showed that the integral concept and application learning materials based on the assessment of mathematics learning experts and learning design experts reached 86.3% and 89.16% in the very good category. While the results of the student assessment showed 87.5%. The small group evaluation results showed an average percentage of 88.2% with a very good category. The results of the large group trial reached a percentage value of 90.1% in the very good category. Therefore, the development of a learning model is able to improve students' mathematical communication skills on integral concepts and applications

An Analysis of Students' Mathematical Communicative Skills in Solving Sets Problems at SMP Negeri 1 Darul Hikma Aceh Jaya

This study aimed to determine the description of students' mathematical communication skills in solving problems in set material, especially students' written mathematical communication skills. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The research subjects were taken from class VII students of SMPN 1 Darul Hikmah. Subject taking was carried out by looking at the value of the report card which was then selected by 3 research subjects based on the existing categories. The instrument used is a written test of mathematical communication skills which contains 3 essay questions with set material and interview guidelines. The interview guide is aimed at subject teachers to find out whether students already know mathematical communication skills. Written mathematical communication skills contain 5 indicators. The results showed that the written mathematical communication skills of the research subjects were good for indicators of ability and in writing the information contained in the questions and determining the main goals to be achieved. However, the research subjects were weak in writing mathematical operations according to the intent of the questions using pictures or scientific notation in solving problems, presenting a comprehensive representation of the concepts used and writing conclusions about answers in everyday language. The results of this study are expected to gain and add insight into the written mathematical communication skills of students of SMP Negeri 1 Darul Hikmah, Aceh Jaya district, on set material, especially in mathematics. So that thus being able to improve the ability to communicate in the language of mathematics in solving problems of everyday life. Analisis kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Pada Materi Bilangan Berpangkat Dan Bentuk Akar Di Kelas IX SMP Negeri 10 Padang

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of students in solving problems of mathematical communication skills, especially in learning mathematics. This study aims to determine how students' mathematical communication skills on the matter of numbers with powers and forms of roots. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects of this research were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Padang. Subjects were taken with 20 students by giving a test of mathematical communication skills, then from these results 3 research subjects were selected based on the categories of low, medium, and high abilities. The results of this study showed that the achievement of the indicators of students' mathematical communication skills. In the indicator of connecting real objects, images or equations into mathematical form are in the high category with a percentage of 78%, explaining mathematical situations and relations orally or in writing using algebraic forms, pictures, or equations are in the medium category with a percentage of 47%, and changing real events into mathematical language and symbols are in the medium category with a percentage of 65%.
