A DFT Investigation for structural, electronic, optical, and elastic properties of inorganic oxide perovskites CsXO3 (X = Ti, Mn, Cu) for photosensitive applications

The investigation of inorganic oxide perovskites, specifically CsXO3 (X = Ti, Mn, Cu), has been carried out utilizing density functional theory (DFT) to gain deeper insights into their structural electronic, optical, and elastic attributes. The calculated band gaps for CsTiO3, CsMnO3 and CsCuO3 are determined to be 1.68 eV, 3.26 eV, and 4.62 eV, respectively, while the lattice parameters are measured at 4.098 Å, 3.987 Å, and 4.059 Å. Our findings indicate that CsMnO3 and CsCuO3 possess moderate-sized, indirect band gaps, showcasing potential for enhanced conductivity. And CsTiO3 shows direct band gap. Additionally, CsTiO3 and CsCuO3 exhibit ductile and anisotropic behavior, as evidenced by both Poisson's ratio and the anisotropic factor. And CsMnO3 shows brittle nature. The anisotropic factors are 2.14 for CsTiO3, 1.99 for CsMnO3, and 1.89 for CsCuO3, whereas the Poisson's ratios are measured at 0.45, 0.34, and 0.49, respectively. Notably, CsTiO3 demonstrates significant photovoltaic activity within the visible spectrum, accompanied by a high optical conductivity and absorption coefficient, positioning it as a promising material for solar cell applications. The favorable attributes of CsTiO3 suggest its potential suitability for integration in optical and electronic devices.

Effect of Spin Coat Speed on Structure, Composition and Properties of Perovskite Films

Recently, 2D perovskite has emerged as a promising alternative material for solar cell applications because of its superior stability in wet environments. Among the various methods for preparing 2D perovskite films, spin coat is the most widely used due to its low pollution, high accuracy and energy efficiency. In this study, the effects of spin coat speed on the surface morphology, crystal structure and surface composition of 2D perovskite (BA2MA3Pb4I13) films are investigated using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and other techniques. It is found that the BA2MA3Pb4I13 film has large crystal size, good crystallinity and small lattice constant at a relatively low spin coat speeds. The device performance test showed that the BA2MA3Pb4I13 film can obtain better device performance as well. It indicated that the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells can be significantly improved by optimization of the fabrication parameters during the film preparation process.

Modelling iodine diffusion in 2D-Perovskites as a function of the length of the organic spacer molecules

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid perovskites have emerged as promising materials for solar cell applications, offering increased stability and reduced ionic movements compared to the more commonly used 3D-perovskites. The atomistic mechanisms behind the lower ionic diffusion in these perovskites have remained rather underexplored. In this study, we have used density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the potential tunability of ionic movements in 2D-perovskites by varying the spacer molecules in the structure. We demonstrate that by changing the length of the spacer molecule, and thus the distance between the two-dimensional inorganic slabs of corner sharing lead halide octahedra, it is possible to significantly modulate the periodic potential distribution and long-range electrostatic interactions within these materials. This modulation has a distinct impact on the energy barriers for ionic movement. Notably, we find that longer spacer molecules decrease the energy barrier for in-plane iodine diffusion, while increasing the energy barrier for inter-layer diffusion. Furthermore, we observe a logarithmic relationship between the energy barrier for inter-layer diffusion and the inter-layer distance. These results clarify the mechanisms underlying the lower ionic movement in 2D-perovskites and open avenues for engineering ionic migration in novel 2D-perovskite structures, thus enhancing their applicability in optoelectronic technologies.

A DFT study of structural, electronic, optical, thermal and mechanical properties of cubic perovskite KGeX3 (X = Cl, Br) compound for solar cell applications

This study examined the structural, electronic, optical, mechanical, and thermal properties of K-based halide perovskites KGeX3 (X = Cl, Br). All the calculations have been carried out using the DFT-based CASTEP simulation package with an ultra-soft pseudo-potential plane wave and PBE-GGA technique. Both the studied perovskite compounds are stable in terms of mechanical and thermal stability. The calculated electronic properties indicate that both materials have a semiconducting behavior with a direct band gap. The band gap value is 0.92 and 0.62 eV for KGeCl3 and KGeBr3, respectively. The analysis of the electronic properties reveals a notable reduction in the bandgap as chlorine (Cl) is substituted with bromine (Br), decreasing from 0.92 to 0.52 eV. The results of our calculations are in good agreement with the previously reported research. The optical properties analysis reveals that both materials demonstrate high absorption and minimal reflection within the visible spectrum. The determined values for Poisson’s and Pugh’s ratios suggest that studied materials demonstrate a ductile behavior. The obtained values of Debye temperature are 265.25 and 191.62 K for KGeCl3 and KGeBr3, respectively. Based on their appropriate direct band gap and high absorption coefficient, these materials are considered promising candidates for photovoltaic applications, and are proposed as ideal potential materials for solar cells applications.

21.2% GaAs Solar Cell Using Bilayer Electron Selective Contact

GaAs remains one of the crucial materials for solar cell applications as it boasts the world's highest efficiency single‐junction solar cells. However, their high cost limits their widespread terrestrial applications. Traditional GaAs solar cells require a complex stack of doped junctions, which can only be grown using epitaxy, which is a very costly technique. Herein, a nonepitaxial bilayer of ZnO and TiO2 as electron‐selective contact is studied. It is shown that a bilayer selective contact can achieve very high performance through interface band engineering and a reduction of the barrier for electron transfer. 21.2% efficient solar cells is achieved, with Voc of 1.04 V, Jsc of 26.13 mA cm−2, and a fill factor of 77.8%. The Voc reported in the article is comparable to the highest Voc reported for substrate‐based GaAs solar cells of 1.075 V. An experimental loss analysis shows that the device is mainly limited by series and shunt resistance and reflection losses, both of which can further be minimized by optimization of the fabrication process. The results presented will be very useful for the further development of cheaper GaAs solar cells, whereas the bilayer selective contact concept can be implemented for other kinds of solar cells.

Method for bandgap interpolation of perovskite's spectral complex refractive index.

Lead halide perovskites are a promising class of materials for solar cell applications. The perovskite bandgap depends on the material composition and is highly tunable. Opto-electrical device modelling is commonly used to find the optimum perovskite bandgap that maximizes device efficiency or energy yield, either in single junction or multi-junction configuration. The first step in this calculation is the optical modelling of the spectral absorptance. This requires as input the perovskite's complex refractive index N as a function of wavelength λ. The complex refractive index consists of real part n(λ) and imaginary part k(λ). For the most commonly used perovskites, n and k curves are available from spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements, but usually only for a few discrete bandgap energies. For solar cell optimization, these curves are required for a continuous range of bandgap energies. We introduce new methods for generating the n and k curves for an arbitrary bandgap, based on interpolating measured complex refractive index data. First, different dispersion models (Cody-Lorentz, Ullrich-Lorentz and Forouhi-Bloomer) are used to fit the measured data. Then, a linear regression is applied to the fit parameters with respect to the bandgap energy. From the interpolated parameters, the refractive index curve of perovskite with any desired bandgap energy is finally reconstructed. To validate our method, we compare our results with methods from literature and then use it to simulate the absorptance of a single junction perovskite and a perovskite/silicon tandem cell. This shows that our method based on the Forouhi-Bloomer model is more accurate than existing methods in predicting the complex refractive index of perovskite for arbitrary bandgaps.

With increasing energy demands and environmental pollution, there is a requirement of the world to great some novel conducting materials consist of Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) which is delivered that excellent photoconversion efficiencies (PCE) compare with the other silicon supported photovoltaics, and also semiconducting materials for the conversion of substitute energy sources and preparation of high high-performance semiconductor devices. Semiconducting thin films play an indispensable role in fashionable science and electronic technology. Among them, the II–VI compound semiconductor thin films are an important class of materials, and they are generally comprehensive wide-band gap materials. In addition, the un-doped and rare-earth metal ions doped zinc selenide (ZnSe) thin films are currently the most demanding and technologically important materials, which have the potential for optoelectronic devices (solar cells, photoelectrochemical cell and light emitting diodes) and are active throughout the entire visible spectrum extending into the infrared wavelengths. Various techniques for depositing thin coatings on these substances are utilized to a greater extent. In this review, the most recent advanced techniques in the application of semiconducting materials-based thin films were produced in various energy-generated fields, particularly solar cells, with a major focus on a review of recent progress in the development of various types of ZnSe thin film-based material for high-performance semiconducting thin film material for solar cell application. Lastly, the advantages and material challenges of semiconductor-based thin films for future sanitary energy device process are described.

Fabrication of ambient processed carbon-based inorganic silver bismuth iodide solar cells without any expensive hole transport materials

Recently, tremendous progress has been made in inorganic–organic hybrid lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Still, most of the reported high-efficiency PSCs were made with harmful lead (Pb), which is one of the major obstacles to large-scale adoption. Silver bismuth iodide (AgBiI4) light absorbers have been identified as promising lead-free and low-toxic metal-halide materials for solar cell applications. Here, we present hole transport material (HTM) and lead-free carbon-based inorganic Rudorffite (AgBiI4) solar cells, which can be prepared by simple spin-coating using silver iodide and bismuth iodide precursors under ambient conditions. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–visible absorption, and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) studies were used to characterize the deposited films. The performance of the fabricated device was studied using incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) and current density–voltage (J-V) characteristics. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to investigate the charge transfer process at the interface of the fabricated device. Under standard illumination test conditions, the fabricated device showed a photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) of 1.04%. The devices also have good stability and retained 96% of their initial PCE after 200 hrs of storage in ambient conditions. This work demonstrates the potential of HTM-free, ambient processable, and lead-free Rudorffite stable solar cells.

Role of Metal Nanoparticles in the Fabrication of Porous Silicon: A Material for Solar Cell Applications

Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching method (MACE) has emerged as an effective tool to fabricate silicon nanostructures. This technique requires a catalytic mask that is commonly composed of a metal. In the present work, the role of Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in the etching mechanism of Porous Silicon (PS) is investigated by studying the effect of AgNP coverage on the surface porosity and the different properties of PS. XRD spectra consist of the two peaks corresponding to silicon and AgNPs respectively and the peak intensity of Ag decreased with an increase in etching time which indicates that as the etching time increases the dissolution of silver metal also increases. Thus, the pore depth depends on the dissolution of AgNP. The pore depth and porosity are calculated at different etching times by SEM analysis. It is observed that porosity is modifiable with the variation of AgNP coverage which in turn modifies the optical properties of PS. The porosity increased with the increase of etching time and the highest porosity obtained was 78% after 240 minutes. The refractive index of PS decreased with increasing porosity in the visible region. The variation of the refractive index results in the tuning of optical energy gap which is more essential in increasing the efficiency of solar cells.

Crystal structure, mechanical, electronic, optical and thermoelectric characteristics of Cs2MCl6 (M = Se, Sn, Te and Ti) cubic double perovskites

The crystal structure, mechanical, electronic, optical and thermoelectric characteristics of Cs2MCl6 (M = Se, Sn, Te and Ti) cubic double perovskites are studied within GGA, GGA-mBJ and EV-GGA functionals. The M − Cl bond lengths are shorter and especially in Cs2TiCl6 double perovskite, which reflects the strong interaction between M and Cl atoms and this is correlated with its better chemical stability. The negativity of formation energy and Helmholtz free energy and no imaginary phonon modes throughout the Brillouin zone confirm the thermal, thermodynamic and dynamical stability of these double perovskites. Semiconductors Cs2MCl6 (M = Se, Sn, Te and Ti) double perovskites with flat conduction and valence bands, and an indirect band gap are p-type carriers. A high Seebeck coefficient, adequate ZT values ​​and non-toxicity make these compounds attractive for thermoelectric applications at high temperature and spintronic technology. The empty first conduction band corresponds to their band gap, and the transition occurs from Cl-p to (Se-p, Sn-p, Te-p and Ti-d). The high static dielectric constant and the intense peak of the real part in the ultraviolet energy range favor less the recombination rate of charge carriers and their use in optoelectronic devices. The indirect band gap, high absorption in ultraviolet energy, high static refractive index make these cubic double perovskites as ideal materials for solar cell applications.

Investigating the Performance of Efficient and Stable Planer Perovskite Solar Cell with an Effective Inorganic Carrier Transport Layer Using SCAPS-1D Simulation

Organic–inorganic metal halide perovskite (OIMHP) has emerged as a promising material for solar cell application due to their outstanding optoelectronics properties. The perovskite-based solar cell (PSC) demonstrates a significant enhancement in efficiency of more than 20%, with a certified efficiency rating of 23.13%. Considering both the Shockley limit and bandgap, there exists a substantial potential for further efficiency improvement. However, stability remains a significant obstacle in the commercialization of these devices. Compared to organic carrier transport layers (CTLs), inorganic material such as ZnO, TiO2, SnO2, and NiOX offer the advantage of being deposited using atomic layer deposition (ALD), which in turn improves the efficiency and stability of the device. In this study, methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3)-based cells with inorganic CTL layers of SnO2 and NiOX are simulated using SCAPS-1D software. The cell structure configuration comprises ITO/SnO2/CH3NH3PbI3/NiOX/Back contact where SnO2 and NiOX act as ETL and HTL, respectively, while ITO is a transparent front-end electrode. Detailed investigation is carried out into the influence of various factors, including MAPbI3 layer size, the thickness of CTLs, operating temperature parasitic resistance, light intensity, bulk defects, and interfacial defects on the performance parameters. We found that the defects in layers and interface junctions greatly influence the performance parameter of the cell, which is eliminated through an ALD deposition approach. The optimum size of the MAPbI3 layer and CTL was found to be 400 nm and 50 nm, respectively. At the optimized configuration, the PSC demonstrates an efficiency of 22.13%, short circuit current (JSC) of 20.93 mA/m2, open circuit voltage (VOC) of 1.32 V, and fill factor (FF) of 70.86%.

Impedance Study of Zinc Sulphide Quantum Dots via One Step Green Synthesis

ZnS quantum dots were synthesized using green synthesis route which are cost effective and eco-friendly. X-ray diffraction study revealed the formation of single phase ZnS. Crystallite size and strain in the as synthesized material were calculated through Williamson-Hall and Size-Strain plot. UV-Vis spectroscopy investigations revealed the absorption region and optical band gap for the ZnS with refractive index analysis. Microstructural analysis of material was done using high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) which confirms the presence of quantum dots. Selected area electron diffraction pattern (SAEDP) of the corresponding area revealed the polycrystalline nature of as synthesized ZnS with fine crystallites oriented along (111) and (022) planes. Results of analysis of lattice fringe spacing’s of fine crystallites are found to be in good agreement with SAEDP data. Elemental compositional analysis was carried by using EDS as an attachment of TEM which showed the presence of Zinc and Sulphur only. Nyquist plot reported Warburg impedance which suggests the material for solar cell applications.

Recent progress in organic waste recycling materials for solar cell applications.

Organic waste-derived solar cells (OWSC) are a classification of third-generation photovoltaic cells in which one or more constituents are fabricated from organic waste material. They are an inspirational complement to the conventional third-generation solar cell with the potential of revolutionizing our future approach to solar cell manufacture. This article provides a study and summary of solar cells that fall under the category of OWSC. OWSC own their merit to low cost of manufacturing and environmental friendliness. This review article reveals different organic waste raw materials, preparation-to-assembly methodologies, and novel approaches to solar cell manufacturing. Ideas for the optimization of the performance of OWSC are presented. The assembly configurations and photovoltaic parameters of reported OWSC are compared in detail. An overview of the trends in the research regarding OWSC in the past decade is given. Also, the advantages and disadvantages of the different solar cell technologies are discussed, and possible trends are proposed. Industrial organic waste raw materials such as paper, coal, and plastics are among the least explored and yet most attractive for solar cell fabrication. The power conversion efficiencies for the cited works are mentioned while emphasizing the products and functions of the organic waste raw materials used.

Role of Ar dilution of SiH4/PH3 gas mixture on PECVD based film growth process, hydrogen bonding configuration, and optical properties of n-type a-Si:H thin films

Amorphous silicon is considered as one of the most promising materials for solar cell applications due to its enhanced optical absorption, high temperature coefficient of resistance, controllable forbidden-band gap, and to reduce the costs of solar panels. In this study, we took notice of the film growth, hydrogen bonding configuration, and optical properties of the phosphorus doped a-Si:H films by varying the dilution of silane using argon gas. Argon gas is a chemically non-reactive gas, but it affects the percentage of silicon atoms during processing. A change in growth process and microstructure factor with varying Ar gas flow is observed, which causes changes in the optical properties of P-doped a-Si:H films. The proportion of SiH bonding rises with increasing argon flow rate, as seen by the infrared-absorption spectra. According to optical tests of the films, the refractive index of the films rises with the Ar flow rate, whereas the band gap Eg decreases. Dilution of SiH4 results in a good-quality film with increased optical conductivity. We established experimental proof of a correlation between band gap and refractive index and compared it with previously reported theoretical models. An investigation into the band gap's dependency on Urbach energy revealed its linearity.

The Structural and Electrochemical Properties of CuCoO2 Crystalline Nanopowders and Thin Films: Conductivity Experimental Analysis and Insights from Density Functional Theory Calculations.

A novel manufacturing process is presented for producing nanopowders and thin films of CuCoO2 (CCO) material. This process utilizes three cost-effective synthesis methods: hydrothermal, sol-gel, and solid-state reactions. The resulting delafossite CuCoO2 samples were deposited onto transparent substrates through spray pyrolysis, forming innovative thin films with a nanocrystal powder structure. Prior to the transformation into thin films, CuCoO2 powder was first produced using a low-cost approach. The precursors for both powders and thin films were deposited onto glass surfaces using a spray pyrolysis process, and their characteristics were examined through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, HR-TEM, UV-visible spectrophotometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analyses were conducted to determine the conductivity in the transversal direction of this groundbreaking material for solar cell applications. On the other hand, the sheet resistance of the samples was investigated using the four-probe method to obtain the sheet resistivity and then calculate the in-plane conductivity of the samples. We also investigated the aging characteristics of different precursors with varying durations. The functional properties of CuCoO2 samples were explored by studying chelating agent and precursor solution aging periods using Density Functional Theory calculations (DFT). A complementary Density Functional Theory study was also performed in order to evaluate the electronic structure of this compound. Resuming, this study thoroughly discusses the synthesis of delafossite powders and their conversion into thin films, which hold potential as hole transport layers in transparent optoelectronic devices.

Computational Insight into Electronic, Optical and Photophysical Properties of Small Compounds for Solar Cell Applications

Thiophene-based small molecules COMP.1 and COMP.2 are explored for optical, electronic and photophysical properties by using theoretical approach. The density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6-31G** level of theory is used to optimize both molecules COMP.1 and COMP.2 at ground state, while for excited state, the time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) is utilized at the same level of theory. The optoelectronic and photophysical parameters specify that these materials would be good charge transport materials. Computed global reactivity descriptors indicate that COMP.2 T is more stable exhibiting smaller chemical reactivity. High electron mobility of COMP.1 as 0.78[Formula: see text]cm[Formula: see text]V[Formula: see text]s[Formula: see text] revealing that COMP.1 might be good n-type material. COMP.1 has been anticipated to be a decent n-type material as compared to COMP.2 and might be good material for solar cell applications.

Surfactant-mediated modulation of morphology and charge transfer dynamics in tungsten oxide nanoparticles

Tungsten Oxide (WO3) is a well-known transition metal oxide which exhibits non-toxicity and stability in its nanoparticle form. It is a potential candidate for a variety of applications due to its low cost and facile synthesis process. In the present work, WO3 nanoparticles were synthesized via facile acid-coprecipitation method to explore the effect of surfactants on the morphology of WO3 nanoparticles and thus, on its structural, optical and electrochemical properties. The morphology analysis revealed the formation of spherical nanoparticles in the absence of any surfactant while nanoflakes and nanosheets were observed in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and polyethylene glycol (PEG), respectively. Moreover, the presence of surfactants was found to influence the crystallinity state of the samples. The different morphologies exhibited optical band gap of 2.2–2.7 eV as analyzed by UV–vis spectroscopy along with other optical properties like absorbance range and refractive index. The electrochemical properties of the samples were studied by employing potentio electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (PEIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) techniques. CV analysis revealed the diffusion-controlled behavior of the samples which may be suitable for photovoltaic applications. Furthermore, impedance study showed the presence of Warburg impedance which indicates that there is an infinite layer of excitons on the surface of thin film, further suggesting WO3 as a prominent material for solar cell applications. The incorporation of surfactants resulted in the reduction of charge transfer resistance indicating more efficient charge transfer process.

Investigation of structural, electronic, mechanical, & optical characteristics of Ra based-cubic hydrides RbRaX3 (X= F and cl) perovskite materials for solar cell applications: First principle study

Perovskite materials are considered the gateway of various physical applications to meet the production and consumption of energy and medical fields. Density Functional Theory (DFT) becomes the most important field in the modern era to investigate perovskite materials for various physical properties. DFT nowadays is used to explore the perovskite materials for a lot of applications like photocatalytic, optoelectronic, and photovoltaics. We discussed radium based cubic hydrides RbRaX3 (while X = F & Cl) perovskite material's electrical, optical, elastic, & physical characteristics with the help of DFT-based CASTEP code with PBE exchange-correlation efficient of GGA. The RbRaF3 & RbRaCl3 have three-dimensional nature by means of space group 221 (Pm3 m). According to electronic characteristics, the direct bandgap of RbRaF3 RbRaCl3 are 3.18eV and 2.209eV, respectively. Both compounds are brittle in nature via Poisson's ratio & Pugh's criteria. Thus, our novel RbRaX3 (X = F and Cl) compounds have excellent applications for solar cell and medical areas.

DFT study on the structural, electronic, optical, and electrical properties of CuO based on GGA+U and TB-mBJ approximations

Using the Wien2k code based on Full Potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave approach, the density functional theory was used to examine the structural and opto-electronic properties of CuO. The 4D-optimize option and the Perdew–Burke–Ernzerhof (PBE)-sol functional are used to optimize the structural parameters. Generalized Gradient Approximation (GGA) with PBE-scheme along with the screened Coulomb interaction [Formula: see text] and modified Becke–Johnson (GGA–TB-mBJ) potential was performed for the overall calculations. The computed band energies were taken as the key input to extract the transport properties with the help of the Boltzmann transport equation. In contrast to the gap energy provided by the [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text][Formula: see text]eV), it is demonstrated that the gap energy produced by the TB-mBJ is [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]eV, which is close to the experimental data. The optical characteristics show a high absorption coefficient in the ultraviolet region, an average transmittance of about 65% in the visible range, which covers a wide spectrum of light, and an average reflectance of about 18% in visible light. At low temperatures, the carrier mobility limits the CuO conductivity, whereas, at high temperatures, the carrier concentration dominates. CuO is a potential material for solar cell applications as an absorbent layer and antireflection coating due to these characteristics.

Crystallization Process for High-Quality Cs0.15FA0.85PbI2.85Br0.15 Film Deposited via Simplified Sequential Vacuum Evaporation

Multiple-source thermal evaporation is emerging as an excellent technique to obtain perovskite (PVK) materials for solar cell applications due to its solvent-free processing, accurate control of stoichiometric ratio, and potential for scalability. Nevertheless, the currently reported layer-by-layer deposition approach is afflicted by long processing times caused by the multiple repetitions of thin films, which hinder industrial uptake. On the other hand, the coevaporation entails higher complexity due to the challenges of controlling the sublimation of multiple sources simultaneously. In this work, we propose a simplified approach consisting of a single-cycle deposition (SCD) of three thick precursor layers to obtain high-quality Cs0.15FA0.85PbI2.85Br0.15 (CsFAPbIBr) films. After annealing, the optimized PVK film exhibits comparable properties to the one deposited by multicycle deposition in terms of crystal structure, in-depth uniformity, and optoelectrical properties. Also, the formation and evolution of SCD PVK during annealing are investigated. We found that, in the competitive processes of precursor diffusion and reaction, the presence of cesium bromide can assist precursor mixing driven by the annealing treatment, demonstrating a reaction-limited process in the PVK conversion. With this simplified SCD approach, a PVK film is obtained with expected optical and opto-electronic properties, providing an appealing way for future thermally evaporated PVK device preparation.
