Psychological capital (PsyCap) has been the subject of more publications lately, mostly in the realm of organizational psychology rather than educational psychology. Existing literature has also revealed a gap in the exploration of connections between psychological capital themes and factors related to the health and education of Indian students studying management. This study investigates if PsyCap among management students is a predictor of psychological well-being indirectly through academic engagement. For the study, 912 management students (male = 607, female = 305) completed the survey through the PsyCap Questionnaire (12 Item Scale), the Students' Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire (PPWB) (18 Items), and the Modified Utrecht Engagement Scale (9 Items). The findings showed a positive correlation between psychological well-being and management students' academic engagement on PsyCap. Furthermore, students' academic engagement mediated PsyCap's impact on psychological well-being. In particular, the multiple mediation model showed that dedication, vigor, and absorption were primarily responsible for PsyCap's indirect impacts on psychological well-being. Study findings may assist educators in creating and preserving a positive learning environment in their classrooms and institutions. • A research gap exists in studying links between psychological capital and health-education factors among Indian management students. • Positive correlation between psychological well-being and management students' academic engagement on PsyCap. • PsyCap’ s impact on psychological well-being was mediated by students' academic engagement. • Findings of this study may assist educators in creating and preserving a positive learning environment in their classrooms and institutions.

The rapid pace of digital transformation has created a pressing need for data literacy. While its importance is widely recognized, there is no clear consensus on the specific skills required. Current Data Literacy Education (DLE) approaches in data science and machine learning courses often focus on digital skills such as data preparation and analysis, overlooking essential foundational skills like creativity, agility, and collaboration. Moreover, as DLE spans beyond traditional STEM boundaries, there is a growing need for inclusive approaches that engage non-STEM learners and address students’ diverse needs, interests, and goals. In response, we propose a practical framework for DLE in data science and machine learning courses that cultivates both digital and foundational skills within an inclusive learning environment. Our approach prioritizes active learning and coaching, leveraging our web application STATY to bridge the gap between theory and practice by engaging students in real-world data problem-solving. We illustrate its application through the master’s-level course “Business Data Science—From Data to Forecasts and Decisions,” along with our experiences and lessons learned. Student engagement is increasingly recognized as a critical factor influencing academic success in higher education. This study investigates the relationship between student engagement and academic performance among management students. Student engagement is conceptualized as a multidimensional construct comprising behavioral, emotional, and cognitive involvement in learning activities. Engaged students are more likely to actively participate in classroom discussions, complete assignments on time, collaborate with peers, and demonstrate intrinsic motivation toward learning. The research adopts an empirical approach, collecting primary data from undergraduate and postgraduate management students through a structured questionnaire. Academic performance is measured using students’ cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) and self-reported performance indicators. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression to examine the strength and direction of the relationship between engagement dimensions and academic outcomes. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between student engagement and academic performance. Cognitive engagement emerged as the strongest predictor of academic success, followed by behavioral and emotional engagement. The study highlights the importance of fostering interactive and motivating learning environments in management education to enhance student engagement and academic achievement. These findings provide valuable insights for educators, administrators, and policymakers aiming to improve student learning outcomes in higher education.

The issue of communication apprehension has been a major obstacle to the professional incorporation of non-native English-speaking (NNES) students in management, frequently halting the process of adapting to international leadership. Whereas the conventional language training focuses on accuracy in languages, often overlook the psychological affective filter that constitutes an impediment to the performance of the language. To overcome these barriers, this study hypothesizes a multidisciplinary model of intervention that combines the Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Cognitive Behavioral Models (CBM) interventions. Based on a mixed-methods quasi-experimental design, the study selected N=120 management students who took an eight-week Integrated Communication Resilience Program (ICRP), a self-regulation and cognitive restructuring program. The findings reveal a statistically significant change in the student performance, with the most significant change evident in the 29.5% decrease in the total score of the communication apprehension scores (p <.001) after the intervention. The qualitative analysis also indicates that emotional mastery based on EI and thought restructuring based on CBM enabled students to change their professional role as language learners into global managers. The paper concludes with the idea that sustainable human capital development in higher education needs a shift toward a Sustainable Pedagogy, which focuses on the development of psychological resilience as well as technical skills. The results provide a feasible approach for business schools to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and 8) to provide inclusive and equal access to professional opportunities to diverse student groups.

Research on students’ inclination towards entrepreneurial activities has garnered worldwide attention from scholars and practitioners. However, there is a lack of studies from the Global South investigating entrepreneurial inclinations and their antecedents among university students in business management. Therefore, this study examines the impact of gender and work experience on entrepreneurial characteristics, that is, self-efficacy, motivations and inclination. This study utilizes ‘social cognitive theory’ to analyse how gender and work experience influence the associations among self-efficacy, entrepreneurial incentives (career, innovation and independence) and entrepreneurial inclination. This study utilized a ‘partial least squares structural equation modelling’ technique to analyse data collected from 364 students in a postgraduate business management programme. The results support significant relationships between entrepreneurial inclination and its predictors. Further, work experience demonstrates a more uniform moderating effect across variables, whereas gender mainly moderates the independence motive and entrepreneurial inclination. The study findings can assist all stakeholders in fostering an environment that encourages students’ interest in entrepreneurial activities, considering their gender and work experience, particularly in a developing country in the Global South. The research enriches entrepreneurial literature by contextualizing findings within a developing country and offering implications for gender-related policy and experiential entrepreneurship education.

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of health management is becoming increasingly widespread, driving health services toward precision, personalization, and intelligence. This study aims to explore the behavior patterns of health management college students in AI learning and device usage. In addition, the study also aims to enhance students' motivation and ability to apply AI by constructing a feedback oriented behavior promotion system based on machine learning technology. This study targeted college students from the School of Health Management at Zaozhuang University. A survey questionnaire based on the "Knowledge-Belief-Action" (KBA) model was designed, and a total of 184 valid responses were collected. The XGBoost algorithm was used to construct a predictive model for AI learning and usage behavior, and SHAP technology was applied for interpretative analysis of the model results to identify key influencing factors. Furthermore, the model was integrated into a web platform, and a visualized behavior promotion system was developed. The accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of the predictive model all exceeded 0.698, indicating strong predictive capability. SHAP analysis revealed that factors such as knowledge mastery, awareness of ethical issues, and educational background have a significant impact on students' AI learning and usage behavior. The behavior promotion system developed based on this model not only predicts students' learning and usage behaviors but also provides a basis for personalized intervention. This study combines the "KBA" model with machine learning to construct an interpretable predictive model for students' AI learning and usage behavior. The study shows that ethical awareness, educational background, and practical application experience are important factors influencing students' behavior. Based on this model, we further developed a behavior promotion system, providing new ideas and tools for optimizing AI education in universities. However, this study also has limitations, such as a single source of sample data. Future research could expand the sample range to further verify the generalizability of the research conclusions.

Higher education Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping students who not only understand Islamic teachings conceptually but also internalize spiritual values in their daily lives. However, learning practices in universities often emphasize cognitive understanding rather than the integration of cognitive and affective dimensions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of mind mapping in the “Manusia Bertuhan” (Human as a Theistic Being) learning material to integrate students’ cognitive understanding and spiritual awareness in the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model. The participants consisted of 38 management students enrolled in the Islamic Religious Education course in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through cognitive tests, a spiritual awareness questionnaire using a Likert scale, observation sheets of student engagement, and assessment rubrics for mind mapping products. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality testing, paired sample t-test, normalized gain (N-gain), correlation analysis, and effect size calculation (Cohen’s d) using SPSS. The findings revealed significant improvements in both cognitive and affective domains after the implementation of mind mapping. The mean cognitive score increased from 67.4 to 82.6, while spiritual awareness scores increased from 72.1 to 85.3. The paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (p < 0.001) with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.87). In addition, correlation analysis indicated a positive relationship between cognitive understanding and spiritual awareness (r = 0.61, p < 0.01). These results suggest that mind mapping effectively supports the integration of knowledge and value internalization in Islamic Religious Education learning. The study implies that visual and student-centered learning strategies can strengthen both conceptual understanding and spiritual development of university students. Future studies may expand the design using control groups and broader academic contexts.

Water conservation has become one of the major ecological challenges of the 21st century. Education is therefore critical to fostering awareness of water-related issues among future managers and policymakers. In this regard, this study examines the XL Blue Walk, an experiential learning program implemented in France. Thirteen business school students (undergraduate and graduate levels) participated in the initiative. The program combined a walking journey with site visits and meetings with water management experts. Drawing on a three-stage data collection process and thematic content analysis, the research highlights the nuanced effectiveness of the experiential learning program for knowledge acquisition and assimilation. While the program’s flexible structure and diverse interactions facilitated knowledge transmission, students tended to retain lived experiences more strongly than the theoretical knowledge conveyed during the XL Blue Walk. However, their perception of water evolved toward a heightened awareness of the need to preserve this resource. Several participants even reported initial behavioral changes, adopting more sober and conservation-oriented practices following their participation in the program. Thus, this study contributes to theoretical knowledge on the effectiveness of experiential learning and on raising students’ awareness of water-related issues. By proposing adaptable formats, the study presents the XL Blue Walk as a transferable model for management education.
