Essential Characteristics for School Administrators in the Digital Age for Thailand

Introduction: It is well known that education and teaching practices are affected by technological developments. The ubiquitous spread of information and communication technologies in recent years has forced educational institutions to undergo a digital transformation so as to keep up with the today’s technological age. Educational activities have become sustainable in virtually all environments and under virtually all conditions, with interactive whiteboards having long since replaced the traditional blackboard in most schools. Changes emerging today include revised job definitions, changing patterns of daily life, and the desire for economic value; together they represent the primary results of this digital transformation. Objective: This study aims to explore the essential characteristic for school administrators in the digital age. Method: This is quantitative approach. The population was educational administrators in Thailand who are responsible for management in educational institutions. This Quantitative Research analyzed the data using Descriptive Statistics, Inference Statistic and Multivariate by IBM SPSS and Structural Equations Modeling (SEM) was analyzed by IBM SPSS AMOS. Results: 1) Government Policy (GP) 2) Performance Attribute (PA) and 3) Competent Innovation directly influence on Perceived Value. Moreover, Perceived Value directly influences on Performance Identification. Analysis of the SEM model was found to be accurate because the model is consistent with empirical data, harmonization index passed all criteria, Chi-Square = 173.53, df = 88 RMSEA = 0.04 and RMR = 0.03, index GIF = 0.96 and AGIF = 0.94 and R2/ df = 1.97. Conclusion: These findings can be used to develop academic fields such as research and strategic planning effectively and can be applied in educational industry as well, so making the product feature that meets the needs of the customer will result in the perception of the value of the product and making a purchase decision. This finding has benefits on human resources development and school management and school administrators as well.

Comprehensive Management of Water Resources: A Step-By-Step Path Towards a Sustainable Campus At The U.D.C.A (Bogotá, Colombia)

Universities are recognized as essential agent of change since future decision-makers related to sustainability are going and will pass through their classrooms. This circumstance becomes an excellent opportunity to demonstrate, with example, and instill in the students how these types of organizations control and approach implementing practices that guarantee sustainability and the appropriate use of resources over time. The Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales has undertaken different actions related to the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) on campus since 1990. This work focuses on the actions carried out by the Integrated Environmental Management System (latest institutional management model) between the 2014-2016 period to improve the university campus's IWRM (drinking water and wastewater management) from a systemic point of view. The actions implemented were part of the project: Reusing treated water at the University's Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This project included the following objectives: 1) Reduce the volume and economic costs of sludge water disposal; 2) Reduce drinking water consumption; and 3) Promote environmental education about water resources in students of the different programs of the University. The results were: 1) A decrease of 68.3% in volume and 69.5% in costs of sludge water disposal; 2) A 41.2% saving in drinking water consumption; and 3) 2,475 members of the university community impacted by issues related to the management of water resources.

Institutional Management of Mangrove Ecosystems on Small Islands to Support Sustainable Utilization

Introduction: Tanakeke Island is one of the small islands in Indonesia that features mangrove ecosystems. In the 1980s, the area of mangroves on Tanakeke Island was approximately 1,770 hectares. However, between the 1980s and the 2000s, the mangroves were reduced by 60 percent due to uncontrolled exploitation and environmental changes. This paper aims to analyze the institutional linkages related to the current management of the mangrove ecosystem on Tanakeke Island and its impact on the sustainability of mangrove utilization. Research Methods: The analysis utilizes the concept of the dynamics of institutional resource management development (Ostrom, 1990) to assess the state of institutional management of the mangrove ecosystem and its relationship to sustainable use. Results: At the time of this research, Tanakeke Island had established rules governing mangrove utilization and rehabilitation activities. The mapping results indicate that the mangrove ecosystem management institutions on Tanakeke Island are currently in an “institutional self-governing period,” as defined by Ostrom (1990) framework for the dynamic development of natural resource institutions. Conclusion: The findings suggest that these management institutions are progressing toward self-governance, as they have demonstrated the ability to manage mangrove resources independently. At the time of this research, the institutions responsible for managing the mangrove ecosystem on Tanakeke Island support the sustainable utilization of mangroves.

Perceptions of improvements and mental health outcomes of micro-renewal in old Danwei community: a survey of residents in Hengyang, China

IntroductionDanwei communities are a testament to China’s socialist urban development, characterized by the self-sufficiency, strong social networks, and institutional management. In the historical context of urban development in China, many old communities have evolved from former housing areas of Danwei. After more than 40 years of use, the buildings, and environments in the old Danwei communities remain in disrepair, dirty, disorderly and poor condition. Many functions have failed that negatively affect the quality of life and health of residents. After Covid-19, improving the mental health of residents has become a major goal of public policies in various countries.MethodsTo explore the residents’ mental health in the micro-renewal, this study carried out a survey regarding residents’ evaluation on the micro-renewal and their mental health in two renewed Danwei communities in Hengyang, China. More than 800 respondents joined the interview, among them, 634 samples are effective for analysis. Entropy-TOPSIS is applied to analyze the weights of various indicators of micro-renewal. And multinominal logit model is used to examine the relationship between the personal factors, satisfaction on various items of micro-renewal and mental health.Results and DiscussionThe findings indicates that the mental health level of residents living in Danwei community is affected by micro-renewal. The socio-demographic characteristics and behavior factors can influence on the possibility of being in different levels of mental health. The satisfaction on the components of micro-renewal and improvements after micro-renewal is also determiner of residents’ mental health level. In addition, the heterogeneity is address in mental health.

Navigating the nexus of citizenship fatigue and knowledge sharing: the influence of employee vitality and tenure among university lecturers

Purpose This study aims to examine the influence of employee vitality and tenure on the nexus between citizenship fatigue and knowledge-sharing behaviour among academic staff in Ghanaian higher education institutions. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 876 faculty members from traditional and technical universities was chosen for the study using convenience sampling technique. Data was analysed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4. Findings Results reveal that citizenship fatigue negatively influences faculty members’ knowledge-sharing behaviour. In addition, employee vitality and tenure mitigate the negative influence of citizenship fatigue on faculty members’ knowledge-sharing behaviour. Practical implications The findings suggest that the management of higher education institutions should focus on creating a workplace culture that cultivates workplace vitality and promotes long tenure to reduce the negative influence of citizenship fatigue on the knowledge-sharing behaviour among faculty members. Originality/value This study represents one of the earliest attempts to examine a theoretical framework that connects citizenship fatigue, employee vitality, knowledge-sharing behaviour and employee tenure within the context of higher education.

The Relationship Between Institutional Pedagogy and the Brand Identity Formation of Higher Education Institutions

This study sought to facilitate insight into the potential role of pedagogy in the brand identity formation of higher education institutions (HEIs) through a study of selected HEIs in The Gambia. Specifically, the study sought to address the following research question: What role do pedagogical practices play in building the brand identity of selected universities in The Gambia? The intra-paradigm qualitative mixed method of data collection underpinned the research design. This research design facilitated a preliminary analysis of the contents of institutional documents and social media postings. This process was followed by telephonic and virtually mediated in-depth interviews through which this researcher explored the interactionist interpretations, recollections, experiences, and opinions of 54 participants (students and staff) on the themes of institutional brand management practices, institutional pedagogical practices, institutional brand identity, and the links between pedagogical practices and institutional brand identity. The study used the Corporate Brand Identity Matrix as a supporting analysis framework. The findings show a relationship between pedagogical practices and institutional brand identity formation. The evidence suggests that the selected HEIs use hardly differentiated production-style portfolios of academic courses to pursue largely unengaged students, prospective students, and other stakeholders. Further findings indicate that teaching and learning practice is dominated by academic staff's discretionary use of transmissive pedagogy. This insight emerged against the background of additional evidence, which shows a link between pedagogy policy and practices of HEIs and stakeholder impressions. A synthesis of these findings culminated in the emergence of the pedagogy-based higher education brand identity matrix (P-HEBIM), which this study proposes as a novel framework for the branding of HEIs. The study sets out a practitioner guide on how higher education managers can pursue the institutional brand management priorities of branding strategy development, competitor intelligence, and brand communication using the P-HEBIM as a framework.

Optimizing treasury management in a high-inflation environment: A strategic framework for U.S. Financial Institutions

There has been a considerable innovative rise in the United States' financial institutions achievable through numerous implementations including treasury management optimization irrespective of the high inflation rate. Treasury management tends to be an important technique viable in managing risks in this world of increasing cyberattacks on financial institutions. To effectively counter this threat, financial institutions must implement a comprehensive risk management technique, among which is the Repo risk management technique. This article, through an extensive literature review, aims to analyze possible means of improving risk management in US financial institutions during high inflation through treasury management optimization strategies. The roles of treasury management were effectively analyzed, and the effects of high inflation in optimizing cash flows through liquidity risk management.

SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION ON PUBLIC CONTRACT MANAGEMENT IN BRAZIL: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Efficient management of public contracts is essential to ensure the proper allocation of resources and the effectiveness of operations in government institutions, including military ones. This study conducts a systematic review of the scientific literature on contract management in Brazilian military institutions between 2013 and 2023, aiming to identify trends, gaps, and research opportunities. The research employed a mixed-method approach, combining systematic review and bibliometric analysis, and analyzed articles from the SPELL database. The results show a significant increase in the number of publications in 2023, with a focus on the Southeast and Northeast regions, while the North region exhibited a notable lack of studies. Revista de Administração Pública was the most productive journal, and Eduardo José Grin the most cited researcher. The analysis also revealed a concentration of studies in public universities in the Southeast. The study suggests that adopting technological innovations, such as automation and digital tools, has the potential to enhance transparency and efficiency in public procurement processes. The lack of research on contract management in the North region underscores the need for greater academic attention in this area, creating opportunities for further studies.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into undergraduate education

The incorporation of AI as a tool in educating undergraduates is a promising concept held with a great potential of positively influencing the learning process, learners’ experiences and institutional management systems. At the same time, it lifts essential moral issues that ought to be adequately addressed into new stages. The aim of this paper is to review literature on the subject of ethics in the application of AI in the context of an undergraduate degree program. Algorithmic choices for instructional design are another relevant ethical concern along with privacy and data protection, practitioners’ responsibilities, and the requisite levels of transparency, as well as the depersonalized and mechanized nature of learning management systems. The analysis reveals how the use of AI technology might deepen the social and economic inequities the students have described and how difficult it is to keep the students’ trust in cases when AI technology is not transparent. Also, the paper raises concerns related to several ethical issues and their consequences to students, teachers, and institutions on how strong ethical principles and policies to apply AI in the educational sectors. It is established that the use of AI in the delivery of undergraduate education has the potential of enhancing the effectiveness of learning(). Nonetheless, it is recommended that the integration of AI in the classroom must be done with reference to several ethical concerns so as to prevent further negative ramifications of the technology.

Management of Educators and Education Personnel from an Islamic Perspective

This article discusses the concept of management of teaching staff and educational staff from an Islamic perspective. The type of research used in searching for data is a library research study. This article explores Islamic principles that can be applied in managing human resources in educational institutions. The results of the study show that Islamic values ​​such as trust, fairness, shura, and ihsan have strong relevance to modern management practices, and can provide a solid ethical foundation for the management of teaching and education personnel. Several important things discussed in the implementation of Islamic teaching and education management in educational institutions include: (1) planning, (2) recruitment and selection, (3) development and training, (4) performance assessment, (5) compensation and rewards. Thus, teaching and educational staff in an Islamic perspective not only aim to achieve organizational effectiveness, but also to form individuals who are professionally and spiritually qualified.

The Influence of Transformational Leadership Style and Compensation on Teacher Performance through Organizational Commitment as an Intervening Variable

This study aims to determine the influence of transformational leadership style and compensation on teacher performance with organizational commitment as an intervening variable in the Malik Ibrahim Gresik Islamic Foundation Educational Institution. The quantitative approach uses a saturated sampling method, where the entire population is sampled. Data was collected through a questionnaire given to teachers at the institution and then analyzed using path analysis techniques to test the relationship between variables. The results of the study show that transformational leadership style has a significant influence on teacher performance. The better the transformational leadership style implementation, the higher the teachers' performance. On the other hand, compensation does not significantly influence teacher performance, which means that the increase in compensation does not directly impact improving teacher performance. However, through organizational commitment as an intervening variable, it was found that organizational commitment plays an important role in mediating the influence of transformational leadership style on teacher performance. These results show that teacher performance can be improved through transformational leadership and increased organizational commitment. This research provides practical implications for the management of educational institutions, especially in developing transformational leadership styles and strengthening organizational commitment to improve teacher performance.

Residuos sólidos y gestión ambiental en una institución educativa de secundaria

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of solid waste on the environmental management of an educational institution of secondary education in the district of Victor Larco Herrera in the year 2023. It was quantitative and applied. The design was non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional. The hypothetical-inductive method was used. The population consisted of 280 students, males and females, from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of high school; the sample consisted of 72 students. A survey was used as a technique and two questionnaires as data collection instruments. The results revealed that the var iable "solid waste" was perceived at a medium level by 40,28%, and the variable "environmental management" was also perceived at a medium level by 36,11%. Likewise, in Kendall's Tau-b the value was 0,109 with a consistency level = 0,352. The straight line was Y = 86,15 + (0,018)X, with coefficient of determination R2 = 0,018. It was concluded that the impact of solid waste is very low, which is explained in 1,8% by environmental management; therefore, it is necessary to carry out awareness workshops to cons erve the environment.

The Concept of Educational Quality Management; Review of Private Islamic Educational Institutions

This study aims to examine the concept of educational quality management in educational institutions, especially in Islamic education at Batam. The method used is qualitative with literature studies from reference books, journals, and relevant archive documents. Data were analyzed descriptively-analytical with a critical approach. The results of the study indicate that educational quality management manages all educational resources to produce services that meet or exceed customer needs. The basic strategies needed include problem identification, application of quality philosophy, continuous improvement, and stakeholder involvement. In conclusion, educational quality management in Islamic institutions must be implemented comprehensively and integrated to achieve customer satisfaction and continuous performance improvement. Internal quality control systems play an important role in ensuring that results are in accordance with standards. This study offers quality management strategies that are relevant to the context of Islamic education in Indonesia as well as a comprehensive management approach that involves all institutional aspects.

Manajemen Pendidikan Islam: Kolaborasi Antara Nilai Spiritual dan Pengelolaan Pendidikan

Islamic education management is a discipline that not only focuses on the technical aspects of the management of educational institutions, but also incorporates Islamic spiritual and moral values at every stage of education. This article aims to find out the collaboration between spiritual values and educational management in Islamic education management. This study uses a literature study method with a systematic approach to review previous studies related to research topics. The data sources used come from scientific journals indexed in databases such as Google Scholar. The selected articles meet the inclusion criteria, namely published in the last five years. The analysis is carried out by identifying, comparing, and grouping the results of existing research, to formulate a comprehensive conclusion. The results of the analysis show that the fundamentals of Islamic education management include principles based on the teachings of the Qur'an, Hadith, and a strong Islamic scientific tradition. Islamic education has the main goal of forming people who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have noble character, where the entire educational process is directed to achieve harmony between science and Islamic values. In its implementation, Islamic education emphasizes the importance of faith (Tauhid), deliberation (Shura), justice (Adil), and goodness (Ihsan), which must be applied in school management, teaching processes, and relationships between individuals in the educational environment

Analysis Of The Relationship Between Social Support Of Correctional Officers And The Subjective Well-Being Of Inmates In Class IIA Correctional Institution Kotabumi

This study aims to analyze the relationship of social support provided by correctional officers to the subjective well-being of inmates in the Class IIA Kotabumi Correctional Institution. The social support received by the inmates, whether in the form of emotional, instrumental, informational, or reward support, is thought to have a significant effect on their subjective feelings of well-being. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey and questionnaire methods as data collection instruments. The sample of this study is inmates in the Class IIA Kotabumi Prison who are randomly selected. Data analysis was carried out using the Pearson correlation test to test the relationship between social support variables and subjective well-being. The results of the study are expected to provide insight into the importance of the role of correctional officers in improving the psychological welfare of inmates and provide recommendations for more humane correctional institution management policies.

The Effect of Ownership Structure on the Going Concern Companies Listed in the Iraqi Stock Exchange

The ability of the economic unit to continue is one of the basic assumptions for preparing financial statements. Therefore, users of these statements need to have a clear image of the unit’s performance and financial situation and to ensure that there is no indicator warning of financial distress. For example, there is a conflict of interest between the unit’s shareholders on the one hand and the management on the other hand. Therefore, this research seeks to study the effect of the difference in the nature of the ownership structure on the going concern of economic units. The research is based on the hypothesis that each type of ownership structure has a negative impact on the going concern unit. The research selected five economic units listed on the Iraqi Stock Exchange from the service sector as a sample for the research. Data is collected for the period extending from 2011-2021. The research used the survey method to measure the ownership structure and applied a Kida Model to measure going concern. The most significant results of the research are a negative effect of institutional ownership, concentrated ownership, and management ownership on the going concern of the unit, In contrast, the effect is positive for both government ownership and family ownership, and foreign ownership has no effect. Emotional intelligence and knowledge-sharing behavior: exploring the dynamics of emotional intelligence on knowledge exchange among filipino academics

The increasing complexity of academia and the growing recognition of knowledge as a critical organizational asset have put knowledge-sharing behavior at the forefront of research and practice. This study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence and knowledge-sharing behaviors of 167 academicians from public higher education institutions in the Philippines. The researchers utilized a descriptive-correlational research design, employing Pearson product-moment correlation to establish the relationship between the variables. Results of the study show that most academicians have average emotional intelligence, which may impact sharing their knowledge with their peers and the rest of the academic community. As to their knowledge-sharing behaviors, academicians convey their thoughts and expertise to their departments and colleagues, but their publications and knowledge-building contributions to the community remain insignificant. The study also indicates that academicians' knowledge-sharing behavior is associated with their emotional intelligence. These results have implications for individual academicians and institutional management, as they can improve their professional development, leadership, and teamwork.

Gold Price Inflation and Its Implications for Financial Markets: Strategies for Mitigation

Abstract: Gold prices are among the most important indicators in the global financial market. The international gold price has continued to rise in recent years, repeatedly setting new records, accompanied by a boom in gold consumption and investment. The rapid rise in gold prices is due to a combination of factors. Supply and demand, economic conditions, and geopolitical events can lead to price fluctuations. Among them, economic conditions depend on monetary policy, inflation expectations, and market volatility, which may affect the trend of gold prices. The rise in gold prices has exacerbated market volatility and put higher demands on risk management for financial institutions. At the same time, the rise in gold prices has also affected the entire financial industry and changed traditional asset allocation strategies. This article examines the influence of increasing gold prices on the financial market and proposes potential preventive measures or solutions through a survey of literatures, theoretical analysis and logical reasoning. At the same time, this can help financial traders plan their funds reasonably, reduce the impact of inflation and currency devaluation, and better cope with changes in international trade and exchange rates, thus allowing the financial market to operate better.

Smart control in healthcare

The author analyzes the prospects of SMART control in healthcare, which provides monitoring of the activities of state medical institutions included in the healthcare system of the Russian Federation, while minimizing the administrative burden. SMART control — “smart” control to prevent violations of budget legislation. It is planned to create a unified electronic system for generating accounting and reporting data for public finances by 2027. This will make it possible to consolidate accounting information about public finances, including in the healthcare system, and improve the efficiency and quality of management of public medical institutions. The connection to the GIS “Electronic budget” of medical organizations will allow to reorient mainly on the methods of preliminary control.

Bridging the gap between entrepreneurial intentions and behavior: examining the role of mindfulness

PurposeThis study investigates the role of mindfulness in the relationship between entrepreneurial intention and behavior.Design/methodology/approachTo investigate the effect of mindfulness on entrepreneurial intention and behavior, we adopt a conceptual framework based on the theory of planned behavior and develop our hypothesis, anticipating that mindfulness has a moderating effect on the entrepreneurial intention–behavior relationship. We conduct an empirical study by administering a survey questionnaire with 329 respondents who attended a training program organized by one of the leading management institutes in India.FindingsWe find a positive effect of entrepreneurial intention and mindfulness on entrepreneurial behavior. Further, mindfulness has a moderating effect on the entrepreneurial intention–behavior relationship.Research limitations/implicationsThe study has a few limitations. It was conducted among unemployed youth who participated in a government-sponsored training program for the promotion of entrepreneurship. Although not all the participants in the program were automatically eligible for government funding for starting a business, their entrepreneurial intention–behavior relationship may vary based on their conditions after the training concluded. This study emphasizes only the relationship between mindfulness and entrepreneurial intention behavior, considering EI and well-being implicit in mindfulness. Other contingent factors might also influence the entrepreneurship intention–behavior relationship, but our argument is that, ultimately, all emotional and rational factors can be subordinated to mindfulness. Hence, future research could be carried out to study the effect of mindfulness practice, entrepreneurial intention and the effectiveness of implementation behavior. Further longitudinal studies could be designed to understand how mindfulness training bridges the gap in the entrepreneurial intention–behavior relationship.Practical implicationsThrough this study, we offer empirical evidence on the role of mindfulness in moderating the intention–behavior relationship in entrepreneurship. Mindfulness makes people more aware of their internal and external environment when they pay attention with a purpose that helps them to regulate their emotions, cognition, novelty seeking and social contexts to sustain the ups and downs in starting a business.Originality/valueThe findings of the study offer new insights into the nuanced association between entrepreneurial intention and behavior through the lens of mindfulness.
