Manajemen Risiko pada Pelaksanaan Pekerjaan Bendung Batang Pagian Kabupaten Dharmasraya

Risks in construction project work are events or occurrences that are uncertain but can have a positive or negative impact on the sustainability of a project. In this research, the author carried out an analysis of risks, impacts and risk responses caused by failure in the construction work of the Batang Pangian weir construction project. The aim is to identify potential risks and the impact of risks that occur in the implementation of the Batang Pagian weir project work, as well as to obtain risk responses that can be carried out. The research was conducted qualitatively through field surveys and interviews with respondents involved in the field. Next, a risk assessment was carried out referring to the Godfrey development method. Based on the results of research analysis, it was found that the flood disaster was the main trigger for failure in the implementation of construction work for the Batang Pangian Dam. The impact of the flood disaster resulted in the main irrigation canal being closed so that water flow became obstructed and had an impact on the agricultural sector. The risk responses carried out include creating alternative channels and conducting outreach to the community regarding this problem.

Water Quality of Tago River

Tago River in the municipality of San Miguel, Surigao del Sur province is the main irrigation source of rice fields. Water quality is an important factor to study a certain body of water by comparing physical, chemical and biological characteristics of a water sample with the Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluent Standard set by the DENR and APHA Standard Method for Examination of Water and Wastewater. The water quality of Tago River is determined by testing its physicochemical parameters: Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chloride, Color, Dissolved Oxygen, Fecal Coliform, Nitrate, pH, Phosphate, Temperature and Total Suspended Solids. The sampling collection was taken at 3:28 pm from the upstream part of Tago River at Sagbayan. The samples were then brought to Science Resource Center. The quality of the river was assessed by comparing the values obtained with the standard set by DENR. The physicochemical properties of the water in Tago River were analyzed and found to have; Biochemical Oxygen Demand (4 mg/L), Chloride (8.90 mg/L), Color (5 TCU), Dissolved Oxygen (9.6 mg/L), Fecal Coliform (790 MPN/100 ml), Nitrate (<0.89 mg/L), water pH (7.7), Phosphate (0.420 mg/L), water temperature (12.6°C) and Total Suspended Solids (9 mg/L). The results revealed significant differences especially the Fecal Coliform which the test result exceeds from the obtained values and the standard limits imposed by the DENR 2016 it indicates contamination and the low Temperature result suggests hindrance for population growth. The overall results of the test further implies that the quality of the water in the Tago River contains a passable quality for propagation and growth of fish, agriculture, irrigation and livestock watering. Although, the result revealed a good water quality of the river, it is still advisable that the quality of the water in Tago river should be improved, maintained and preserved.

The advancement in irrigation solution within the field of endodontics, A Review

The purpose of endodontic treatment is to eliminate all germs, microbial by-products, and vital tissues from the root canal system. Root canals can be mechanically and chemically used for this purpose. The needs and details of the irrigation solutions are described in this article. Because of its wide range of antibacterial activities and its ability to dissolve organic tissues, sodium hypochlorite is suggested as the main irrigation. On the contrary, chelation solutions are recommended as supplemental treatments to either eliminate the smear layer or prevent it from forming on the dentin surface. Data: Only articles that were published electronically were searched within the review. Sources: ‘Google Scholar’ and "Pub-med" websites were used to search data, The most papers related to the topic were chosen, specifically original articles , including only articles from 1999 to 2023.Journal papers that weren't published in a highly regarded publication, irrelevant studies, editorials, personal viewpoints, and social media sources were all disqualified from consideration. 98 articles were retained after the filtering procedure. In conclusion, this article reviews many types of new irrigations that may be used in endodontic practice in the future.

Response of Soil Nitrogen Components and nirK- and nirS-Type Denitrifying Bacterial Community Structures to Drip Irrigation Systems in the Semi-Arid Area of Northeast China

Denitrification is a key process in soil available nitrogen (N) loss. However, the effects of different water-saving irrigation systems on soil N components and denitrifying bacterial communities are still unclear. In this study, quantitative fluorescence PCR and Illumina MiSeq sequencing were used to investigate the effects of three main irrigation systems, conventional flooding irrigation (FP), shallow buried drip irrigation (DI), and mulched drip irrigation (MF), on the abundance, community composition, and diversity of soil nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacteria in the semi-arid area of Northeast China, and to clarify the driving factors of nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacterial community variations. The results showed that, compared with FP, MF significantly increased soil moisture, alkaline hydrolyzed nitrogen (AHN), nitrate nitrogen (NO3−-N), non-acid hydrolyzed nitrogen (AIN), and amino sugar nitrogen (ASN), but significantly decreased the contents of ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N) and acid hydrolyzed ammonium nitrogen (AN). The irrigation system changed the relative abundance of the dominant genera of denitrifying bacteria, DI and MF significantly increased nitrate reductase (NR) and nitrite reductase (NiR) activities, and MF significantly increased the diversity of nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacteria but significantly decreased the richness. The community structure of nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacteria was significantly different among the three irrigation systems. NO3−-N was the main driving factor affecting the community structure of nirS-type denitrifying bacteria, and moisture significantly affected the community structure of nirK-type denitrifying bacteria. DI and MF significantly increased the abundance of nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacteria and also increased the abundance ratio of nirS/nirK genes. Therefore, although DI and MF significantly increased the abundance of denitrifying microorganisms, they did not lead to an increase in the N2O emission potential.

Water Resource Impacts of Irrigation: The Case of the Main Irrigation Canal from the M’Pourie Plain to Rosso in Mauritania

An important factor in determining agricultural production is the availability of irrigation water in the main canal of the M’Pourie plain. This factor affects both the intensification of crops and the size of the irrigation areas. The main Senegal River canal in Rosso, Mauritania, runs across the Plaine of M’Pourie. This study aims to assess the physicochemical quality of the water used for irrigation and agriculture in the main irrigation canal on the M’Pourie plain. The measurements were made from 2021 to 2022, and the following physical and chemical parameters were monitored: pH, temperature, electrical conductivity, salt content, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium; ammonium bicarbonate; chloride; nitrite; nitrate; nitrogen; sulfate; and sodium adsorption ratio (SAR). These measurements were analyzed using volumetric, spectroscopic, and spectrophotometric methods. After conducting statistical analysis and comparing the results with Moroccan quality standards for surface water utilized in irrigation, it has been discovered that the average pH value is 7.51, indicating a neutral state. However, the average nitrite and ammonium values exceed Moroccan standards at 5.16 mg.L-1 and 0.41 mg.L-1, respectively. The water’s low mineralization is attributed to its low electrical conductivity, with an average of 52.2 μS.cm-1. Based on the analysis of the Senegal River water used for irrigation in the M’Pourie plain, it has been determined that its sodium adsorption ratio and electrical conductivity classify it as belonging to class C1S1. This indicates that the water has low salinity and is excellent for irrigation, with a low risk of alkalinization.

Liquefaction potential analysis based on standard penetration test data at irrigation canals in Sibowi Area-Central Sulawesi Province

A phenomenon in which non-cohesive soil in saturated conditions loses its carrying capacity owing to the reduced stiffness and strength of the soil during earthquake shaking or rapid loading is called liquefaction. This occurs under the structure and can cause damage during earthquakes. In this study, we estimated the possibility of liquefaction in the main irrigation canals in the Sibowi area of Central Sulawesi Province, considering that the soil type in this area is sandy. Liquefaction analysis uses a simplified procedure using Standard Penetration Test data to obtain the Safety Factor and estimate the potential level of liquefaction using the Liquid Potential Index (LPI) method. According to the analysis, with the 7.5 Mw earthquake and groundwater levels observed, most of the soil layer below the irrigation canals still has liquefaction potential at 15 m to 19.5 m. The LPI result that 5 (five) out of 10 (ten) boreholes have the potential for liquefaction in low to moderate categories, and the boreholes that have liquefaction potential have groundwater depths between 14 and 16 m.

Modeling of an Irrigation Main Canal Pool based on a [formula omitted]-[formula omitted] System Identification

Dynamic models of main irrigation canals are necessary to carry out real-time canal flow control and supervision. Since the hydraulic equations of canal dynamics are nonlinear, their solution involves large computations that impede their use in real-time applications. Then these tasks are often implemented using simple local linear models obtained around an operating point, that are unable to capture the dynamics when large canal operation changes happen.In this paper, we propose a nonlinear dynamic model for main irrigation canal pools based on a new Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This ANN outperforms the above local models because it includes a new input which is the downstream water level of the previous pool. This new architecture with this new input yields models that accurately reproduce the behavior of the canal in a wide range of operations while being simple enough to allow real-time control and supervision. The high accuracy of the proposed model as regards reproducing the observed data is validated for different flow regimes based on experiments developed in a laboratory prototype of the hydraulic canal and in a real main irrigation canal.The contribution of this work is such a general and accurate but simple model of the dynamics of a canal pool. Its novelty is not only being able to reproduce the behavior at different operating points of the canal but also being able to reproduce, in a single model, the free and submerged flow regimes — which are described by dynamic equations with different structures. Moreover, we implement a new classification model to recognize the flow regimes of the irrigation canals using pattern recognition.

An inter-comparison of approaches and frameworks to quantify irrigation from satellite data

Abstract. This study provides the first inter-comparison of different state-of-the-art approaches and frameworks that share a commonality in their utilization of satellite remote-sensing data to quantify irrigation at a regional scale. The compared approaches vary in their reliance on either soil moisture or evapotranspiration data or their joint utilization of both. The two compared frameworks either extract irrigation information from residuals between satellite observations and rainfed hydrological models in a baseline framework or use soil water balance modeling in a soil-moisture-based inversion framework. The inter-comparison is conducted over the lower Ebro catchment in Spain where observed irrigation amounts are available for benchmarking. Our results showed that within the baseline framework, the joint approach using both soil moisture and evapotranspiration (ET) remote-sensing data only differed by +37 mm from the irrigation benchmark (922 mm) during the main irrigation season over 2 years and by +47 and −208 mm for approaches relying solely on soil moisture and ET, respectively. A comparison of the different frameworks showed that the main advantage of the more complex baseline framework was the consistency between soil moisture and ET components within the hydrological model, which made it unlikely that either one ended up representing all irrigation water use. However, the simplicity of the soil-moisture-based inversion framework, coupled with its direct conversion of soil moisture changes into actual water volumes, effectively addresses the key challenges inherent in the baseline framework, which are associated with uncertainties related to an unknown remote-sensing observation depth and the static depth of the soil layers in a conceptual model. The performance of the baseline framework came closest to the irrigation benchmark and was able to account for the precipitation input, which resulted in more plausible temporal distributions of irrigation than what was expected from the benchmark observations.

Occurrence and dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes in the Yellow River basin: focused on family farms.

As an emerging contaminant, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) have attracted growing attention, owing to their widespread dissemination and potential risk in the farming environment. However, ARG pollution from family livestock farms in the Yellow River basin, one of the main irrigation water sources in the North China Plain, remains unclear. Herein, we targeted 21 typical family farms to assess the occurrence patterns of ARGs in livestock waste and its influence on ARGs in receiving environment by real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Results showed that common ARGs were highly prevalent in family livestock waste, and tet-ARGs and sul-ARGs were the most abundant in these family farms. Most ARG levels in fresh feces of different animals varied, as the trend of chicken farms (broilers > laying hens) > swine farms (piglets > fattening pigs > boars and sows) > cattle farms (dairy cattle > beef cattle). The effect of natural composting on removing ARGs for chicken manure was better than that forcattle manure, while lagoon storage was not effective in removing ARGs from family livestock wastewater. More troublesomely, considerable amounts of ARGs were discharged with manure application, further leading to the ARG increase in farmland soil (up to 58-119 times), which wouldexert adverse impacts on human health and ecological safety.

Spatiotemporal relation of satellite-based meteorological to agricultural drought in the downstream Citarum watershed, Indonesia

Jatiluhur dam, located in West Java province, is one of the most extensive reservoirs in Indonesia and is used to secure the water supply for 240,000 ha of rice fields to prevent agricultural drought in the downstream Citarum watershed. During the last two decades, several areas in the downstream Citarum watershed have been experiencing agricultural drought following meteorological drought events. This study aimed to examine the spatiotemporal patterns of agricultural drought and their correlation with meteorological drought occurrence by utilizing a remote sensing image processing technique. The Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI) and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) derived from MODIS and CHIRPS data were used to estimate agricultural and meteorological drought events, respectively. The results showed that the magnitude of agricultural drought in the downstream Citarum watershed was varied and related to earlier meteorological drought. The agricultural drought mainly occurred after a meteorological event with the magnitude mostly related to the magnitude of the ONI and DMI. A strong El Nino and positive IOD will cause a higher magnitude of agricultural drought. The time lag between the two drought occurrences was found to be related to the distance of the paddy fields from the main irrigation network and the proximity of the main irrigation network to the Jatiluhur Dam spillway.

Performance Index Model of Main Structure (CASE STUDY IN IPDMIP)

Purpose: This research intends to build a performance index model of main stucture by case study in IPDMIP. Theoretical reference: It is important to evaluate the percentage weights of 6 (six) variables in the Irrigation System Performance Index (ISPI) assessment so that irrigation managers get assessment results close to actual conditions in the field, improving the quality of irrigation system management. Method: The methodology or the main structure model in this study was analyzed by using SEM-PLS software and GRG analysis. The selection of a research location in the Central Authority Irrigation Area was by considering the same data availability as previous research. In this research, the author used the Smart-PLS (Partial Least Square) application to analyze and reduce variables, which were then analyzed again using the GRG (Generalized Reduced Gradient) method to calculate non-linear equations. Result and Conclusion: The result shows that in this equation, there is only 1 (one) variable, 3 (three) dimensions, and 13 (thirteen) indicators analyzed. After analyzing with SEM PLS, followed by GRG (Generalized Reduced Gradient) analysis with the solver in Microsoft Excel, changes in variable weights occur, so the new model equation for the main structure performance index (Y) is 0.348, with structure body dimensions of + 0.492 and door & gear to operate of +0.160. Mud Bags and drain doors apply to the Central Authority. Implication of research: Based on the results of previous research, where the assessment weight of the variable of the main irrigation network (with a weight of 0.744) is greater than the tertiary irrigation network (with a weight of 0.256). Originality/ value: the role of the main irrigation network is more dominant in channeling water from the intake to the tertiary irrigation network. However, previous research has not been completed since the main structure still has a level below it and has not been included in the scope of previous research.

Crop yield, water use efficiency and economic assessment of purple broccoli (Brassica oleracea) across varied water and nitrogen management practices

Inefficient management of irrigation and fertilizers emerges as the primary hurdle constraining the crop performance, profitability of broccoli (Brassica oleracea L. var. italica) production, resource wastage and environmental harm. To address this issue, a field experiment was conducted during winter (rabi) seasons of 2020–21 and 2021–22 at the research farm of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. The research focused on investigating the effect of irrigation techniques and nitrogen management on broccoli yield, water use efficiency (WUE) and economic feasibility. The two main irrigation methods of drip irrigation and furrow irrigation as main factor, 2 irrigation regimes of full irrigation (100% ETC) and limited irrigation (75% ETC) as sub-factor, 3 nitrogen doses (N) of 125, 100 and 75% recommended dose of N as sub-sub factor were given and replicated thrice. The study aimed to analyse the yield, water use efficiency and assessment of economics under diverse irrigation water and N-management approaches. Under drip irrigation the mean yield and water-use efficiency shown substantial increase by 12 and 52% in comparison with furrow irrigated purple broccoli grown under the same condition. The highest benefit to cost (B:C) ratio of 3.81 and 4.79 was obtained in the treatment DRI1N1 during 2020–21 and 2021–22, respectively. Undoubtedly, the significance of adequate irrigation regime (100% ETC) and optimal N dose (125% RDN) became apparent, as they played significant roles in enhancing crop performance and ensuring the attainment of maximum broccoli yield, WUE and economics in Trans-Gangetic Plains region.

ASSESSMENT OF THE HYDROGEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS OF THE KARABAGH-MIL PLAIN

Mil-Karabagh plain, the studied territory, located to the north-east from the piedmont of the Lesser Caucasus. The main irrigation canals of the region, including the bed of the Yukhari-Karabagh canal, have high water permeability, as they are built from local soils. This ensures that surface and underground waters interact, feeding each other along the flow. The amount of precipitation in different parts of the Karabagh plain was 370-453 mm, and they fall unevenly in different seasons. Thus, the maximum amount of precipitation is observed in autumn and spring, and the minimum amount of precipitation is observed in winter and summer. There are 6 aquifers (water-bearing horizons) in the upper part of the Mil plain: 1 underground, 5 confined aquifers. The underground and three confined aquifers are associated with the Quaternary period, the fourth aquifer is associated with the Absheron, and the fifth with Aghjagil stages sedimentary rocks. The variability of the level mode is fully studied here. Sources of formation of underground water resources and methods of their effective use have been identified to a sufficient level. The horizon of underground waters and water strikes form a single water horizon in the elevated parts of river tributaries. The water deposits mentioned here are composed of boulder-gravel-pebble stones according to their lithological composition, clay and clayey deposits are rare. These deposits are found at depths of up to 110 m and more. The degree of natural drainage of the territory is one of the main factors influencing soil reclamation, depending on the geological structure, geomorphological conditions and features of the relief. The Karabagh irrigation massif is served by the Mil-Karabagh reservoir. Which discharges drainage water with an average mineralization of 12.7 g/l to 200 million m3 per year. Occurrence depth of the groundwater within the territory of the Karabagh irrigation massif 0-10 m and deeper from surface. There is a tendency to decrease the depth of groundwater in the area from the south-west to the north-east, i.e. from the piedmont to the Kura river. Investigation of Salt and Nitrogen Distribution under Belt Plastic Film Mulching in Surface- and Drip-Irrigated Maize Field in Hetao Irrigation District

Hetao Irrigation District (HID) is one of the main regions for maize and sunflower production in North China. However, water resource shortages and soil salinization greatly limit maize and sunflower production. The surface irrigation method is the main irrigation method in HID; however, now, the plastic mulching and drip irrigation area is increasing to reduce irrigation water and enhance crop yield. In this study, the soil water, salt, and nitrogen contents at the 0–100 cm soil layer under plastic mulching and non-mulching conditions with the surface irrigation—fertilizer broadcast practice and drip fertigation method were investigated at the maize elongation and maturation stages in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The results show that the mulching practice and irrigation methods greatly influenced the soil salt and ionic nitrogen (NO3− and NH4+) distributions and, ultimately, the maize yield. Mulching reduced the soil salt content in the 0–20 cm soil layer by a mean of 35.7% under surface irrigation and by 18.6% under the drip irrigation condition. The NO3− content in the 0–20 cm soil layer with the drip fertigation system was approximately 8 times higher in mulching soil than that out of mulching. However under the surface irrigation condition, the NO3− content was 8–10 times lower under mulching than that out of mulching. The soil salt and NO3− contents were distributed uniformly at each soil layer deeper than a 40 cm depth, indicating minor effects of mulching. The soil NH4+ content decreased as the soil depth increased and distributed uniformly at each soil layer, indicating the insignificant influence of the mulching practice. As a result, the maize yield under the drip-mulching condition was approximately 11% (10.6~11.4%) higher than that under the surface-mulching condition in the two maize seasons. Given that surface irrigation is currently the primary irrigation method in the Hetao Irrigation District (HID), we have proposed three approaches aimed at enhancing maize production through the improvement of nitrogen levels in surface-mulching practices.

Performance Index of Anai I Irrigation-Area, Padang Pariaman

The irrigation area of Anai River I which has an area of 6,764 hectares is one of the main irrigation-area in West Sumatra Province. The objective of the present study is to determine the performance index of the main irrigation network (main building, primary canal and secondary canal) of the Batang Anai I Irrigation-Area based on the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation No. 12/PRT/M/2015, and to determine the level of service of it based on the MASSCOTE method. The method based on Permen PU No.12/PRT/M/2015 examines six aspects. They are physical infrastructure, planting productivity, supporting facilities, personnel organization, documentation and farmer association (WUA). The MASSCOTE method is based on the Rapid Appracial Procedure (RAP) which has four indicators in its assessment, namely; indicators of service, farmer association, human resources and of channel-operation modernization. Based on the Minister Regulation, the Batang Anai I is in the moderate category (76.85%) in the physical performance. Meanwhile, based on the MASSCOTE method, it is in the good category (3.22 in 4-scale) in the level of service. Based on both those categories, the management of the irrigation area only needs the operation and maintenance action.

Meningkatkan Nilai Tambah Jaringan Irigasi dengan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikro Hidro (Studi Kasus – Ji Kedung Kandang)

The development of Micro Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) in irrigation networks has great potential to contribute to the national electricity supply. However, the construction of the PLTMH in the irrigation network is still constrained due to the design of the placement of civil buildings which are limited by land. In fact, the procurement of electrical energy in the irrigation network can help provide backup sources of electrical energy based on New and Renewable Energy (EBT) which can also play a role in reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Based on a study in the main irrigation canal of Kedung Kandang which has a fall height of 11 m with a flow of 3.5 m3/second, the generating power that can be generated reaches 275 kW. Conveyor channel design and reservoir ponds are planned in the channel body. The dimensions of the reservoir are planned to have a water depth (h) = 3.2 m, a width of 2.5 m, and a length of 10 m. Based on the study of determining the type of turbine, the components used are two propeller turbines of the H-Shaft type with a diameter of 0.603 m, each with a capacity of 137.5 kW. The use of two turbines requires a power house design measuring 4.5 x 6.5 m. The potential results of PLTMH in the Kedung Kandang main irrigation canal can be utilized to meet the electrical energy needs of SMK Muhammadiyah 7 and Pondok Pesantren Muhammadiyah Gondanglegi as well as an integrated field laboratory between SMK Muhammadiyah 7 and University of Muhammadiyah Malang. By utilizing NRE-based electricity sources, it is estimated that it will be able to reduce carbon emissions from the use of fossil energy and coal.

Optimized border irrigation delays winter wheat flag leaf senescence and promotes grain filling.

Border irrigation is still the main irrigation method in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain of China (HPC), and the suitable irrigation border length for water saving and high yield under traditional irrigation is still unclear. Therefore, a 2-year traditional border irrigation experiment (2017-2019) was conducted on the HPC. Four border lengths were tested: 20m (L20), 30m (L30), 40m (L40), and 50m (L50). These treatments were given supplementary irrigation at jointing and anthesis. An exclusively rainfed condition formed the control treatment. Compared with other treatments, the activities of superoxide dismutase antioxidant and sucrose phosphate synthetase, and the contents of sucrose and soluble proteins after anthesis were higher in the L40 and L50 treatments, while the content of malondialdehyde content was lower. Therefore, the L40 treatment effectively delayed the decrease in the soil plant analysis development (SPAD) value and chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics, promoted grain filling, and achieved the highest thousand-grain weight. Compared with the L40 treatment, the grain yields of the L20 and L30 treatment were significantly reduced, while the water productivity of the L50 treatment was significantly reduced. These findings suggest that 40m was the optimal border length for both high yield and water saving in this experiment. This study provides a simple and low-cost water-saving irrigation method for winter wheat in the HPC under traditional irrigation, which can help alleviate the pressure of agricultural water use.

Assessment of the technical condition of bridge crossings on the main canals of irrigation systems

Currently, it is necessary to assess competently and timely the technical condition of long-operated bridge crossings on the main canals of irrigation systems with increasing loads. The article considers structures with various defects and damages by the example of the Abinsky irrigation system of the Lower Kuban, examines the history of the issue of assessing the remaining resource of bridge structures. It includes the values of coefficients of significance of bridge crossing structures on the main canals of irrigation systems obtained by the authors based on the results of calculation. When designing irrigation systems, the estimated service life was no more than thirty years. Currently, on average, more than fifty years have already passed since the commissioning of the main irrigation systems, for example, in Krasnodar Territory. At the moment, the determination of the true value of the remaining resource is massively in demand not only in the construction field and hydraulic engineering, but also in many other branches of industrial production. For more effective control over the technical condition of bridge crossings on the main canals of irrigation systems, scientific and practical interest is primarily not only an understanding of the actual condition of the structure at the time of the survey, but also its alternative change, i.e. the forecast of its remaining resource. Assessment of the technical condition of the bridge crossing structures on the main canal is determining the possibility of their further long-term operation, the need for strengthening, reconstruction of bridge crossings on the main canals of irrigation systems.

SOME ASPECTS OF THE LATEST FLOODING IN THE KHERSON REGION

Problem Description and Purpose of the Study. This article examines the problem of flooding of settlements in the Kherson region. The purpose of the study is to identify the latest risks of flooding of populated areas in the Kherson region and to formulate a list of measures aimed at reducing the threats and consequences of flooding. Data & Methods. The research used data from the Kherson Regional Center for Hydrometeorology; Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson Region; The Department of Civil Protection of the Kherson Regional State Administration, the Office of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Among the research methods, the comparative method, cartographic and geo-informational methods, correlational, expert method were used. Results. Kherson region has the largest share of irrigated land among all regions of Ukraine. This fact, as well as the presence of significant waterless areas, reductions in the relief with the release of groundwater and water loss along the main irrigation canals, leads to constant flooding of certain areas. The most affected areas arelocated in the paludal depressions and coastal lowlands. Due to the strengthening of the continentality of the climate, the precipitation regime is also changing. The territory is characterised by summer-autumn rains with daily precipitation above 30 mm, which causes sudden flooding of downgrades and rise of groundwater in these periods. In order to monitor the potential risk of flooding, it is proposed to monitor interdependence: the water level of the Kakhovka Water Reservoir – the level of groundwater. Although this dependence has a deferred character, thus it is confirmed every year. There are four irrigation systems in the region: North Crimean, Kakhovka, Inhulets and Pravoberezhia (Right-Bank). Each year, the area of irrigated land increases from 0.1 to 1.0 thousand hectares, which significantly increases the risks of flooding in combination with the frequency of heavy rainfall. In a number of settlements with a high probability of flooding, a system of vertical and horizontal drainage has been built, but it requires constant maintenance and usually does not cope with its tasks.

Assessment of post-liquefaction potential in soil displacement on irrigation canal reconstruction project in the Jono Oge and Lolu area, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

A seismic event of magnitude 7.5 Mw took place in Central Sulawesi in September 2018, marking a significant occurrence in the geological hazard chronicles of Indonesia. The occurrence of liquefaction subsequent to the earthquake significantly damaged the water resource infrastructure in the Sigi Regency. This study aims to evaluate the possible soil displacement resulting from re-liquefaction events occurring in the main irrigation canals in the Jono Oge and Lolu regions. The study used semi-empirical and finite element analysis to compute the lateral displacement index and reconsolidation settlement within the designated study region. The examination of soil displacement is conducted under various groundwater level scenarios, utilizing the most recent soil investigation conducted in 2021. The findings of the study indicate that raising the groundwater level to -3.5 meters will result in significant soil and irrigation canal damage. In the future, it is suggested that limiting the groundwater level below -11 meters in the primary irrigation canal area might effectively mitigate soil lateral displacement and settlement.
