The Cultural Codes of Pashto in Khushal Khan’s Poetry

Khushal Khan Khattak is a prolific writer, poet, politician, and community leader of Pashtun nation. He, as a leader, understood the spirit and soul of the Pashtuns at that time. So, his poems have all the cultural codes of the Pashtun nation. For example: Challenge, honor, masculinity, hospitality, shame, modesty, honesty, unity and love.
 A few hundred years ago, the cultural codes, which described in his poems, are almost still present in the Pashtun community. The main reason being the backwardness of the Pashtun nation and their society, is because the cultural codes change as society changes. The society of Pashtun nation does not chance until today. It has its old shape as two or three hundred year ago.
 There are a lot of codes that we can find in both, also in the poems of Khushal Khan Khatak and in the space of Pashtun nation. There are not the most of the codes in Western societies nowadays, because these codes that are often considered in Islamic countries.

Load Estimation Based Dynamic Access Protocol for Satellite Internet of Things

In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) industry has become a research hotspot. With the advancement of satellite technology, the satellite Internet of Things is further developed along with a new generation of information technology and commercial markets. However, existing random access protocols cannot cope with the access of a large number of sensors and short burst transmissions. The current satellite Internet of Things application scenarios are divided into two categories, one has only sensor nodes and no sink nodes, and the other has sink nodes. A time-slot random access protocol based on Walsh code is proposed for the satellite Internet-of-Things scenario with sink nodes. In this paper, the load estimation algorithm is used to reduce the resource occupancy rate in the case of medium and low load, and a dynamic Walsh code slot random access protocol is proposed to select the appropriate Walsh code length and frame length h. The simulation results show that the slotted random access protocol based on Walsh code can effectively improve the throughput of the system under high load. The introduction of load estimation in the case of medium and low load can effectively reduce the resource utilization of the system, and ensure that the performance of the access protocol based on Walsh codes does not deteriorate. However, in the case of high load, a large resource overhead is still required to ensure the access performance of the system.

Over the past few decades, considerable numbers of studies on the durability of concrete have been carried out extensively. A lot of improvements have been achieved especially in both measuring techniques as well as modeling of ionic flows. However, the majority of these researches have been performed on sound uncracked concrete, although most of in-situ concrete structures have more or less micro-cracks. It is only recent approach that the attention has shifted towards the influence of cracks and crack width on the penetration of chloride into concrete. The penetration of chlorides into concrete through the cracks can make a significant harmful effect on reinforcement corrosion. On the other hand, a general acceptable crack width of 0.3 mm has been recognized for keeping the serviceability of concrete structures in accordance with a lot of codes. However, there seems to be rare established description to explain the critical crack width in terms of the durability of concrete. To make a bad situation worse, there is little agreement on critical crack width among a few of literatures for this issue. Critical crack width is still controversial problem. Nevertheless, since the critical crack width is important key for healthy assessment of concrete structures exposed to marine environment, it should be established. The objective of this study is to define a critical crack width. The critical crack width in this study is designed for a threshold crack width, which contributes to the first variation of chloride diffusion coefficient in responsive to the existence of cracks. A simple solution is formulated to realize the quantifiable parameter, chloride diffusion coefficient for only cracked zone excluding sound concrete. From the examination on the trend of chloride diffusion coefficient of only cracked zone for various crack widths, a critical crack width is founded out.

Maximizing the SDMA Mobile Radio Capacity Increase by DOA Sensitive Channel Allocation

In a cellular mobile radio system an SDMA (Space Division Multiple Access) component can be implemented for the reuse of radio channels physically incorporated by time, frequency or code slots. Since SDMA is based on the spatial separation of different users operating in the same channel, a DOA (Direction of arrival) sensitive channel allocation scheme is essential for maximizing system capacity. In this paper we present the Eigenvector method, a computationally efficient algorithm to do this job. We also present simulation results on the Eigenvector method operating in a typical urban mobile radio cell. The simulated blocking probabilities are then used to predict the capacity increase which can be expected after adding an SDMA component to a conventional mobile radio system.

Explicit Computation of Generalized Hamming Weights for Some Algebraic Geometric Codes

The generalized Hamming weights, introduced a few years ago by V. K. Wei, provide substantial information of codes and thus play a central role in coding theory. For algebraic geometric codes, there have been many works on their generalized Hamming weights (or weight hierarchy). However, for lots of codes from Hermitian curves and the Klein quartic, some generalized Hamming weights still have not yet been found explicitly. In this paper, we first prove a general result (Theorem 1.4) on the computation of generalized Hamming weights of geometric Goppa codes on plane curves, using the configuration ofFq-rational points on the curves. Then we give the exact values (Theorem 2.2) of the first and second generalized Hamming weights of some codes arising from the Klein quartic. Our main result (Theorem 2.3) gives the exact values of the second and third generalized Hamming weights of certain codes from Hermitian curves. In the Appendix, a previous known result of Yang, Kumar, and Stichtenoth for Hermitian codes is shown to follow from Theorem 1.4. We also give the exact values of the first three generalized Hamming weights for Fermat codes.
