The use of artificial intelligence in interrogations: voluntary confession

<span>Interrogation is a crucial step in the investigation of criminal acts. Artificial intelligence has been used to increase the efficiency of interrogation. In this study, we developed a confession probability identification system to help investigators analyze the emotions of their interrogees while they are answering questions and determine the probability of them confessing. Based on these analysis results along with their own experience, investigators may adjust the content and direction of their interrogations to penetrate the interrogees’ defenses. The proposed system uses OpenFace and FaceReader to capture data and incorporates the multi-grained cascade forest (gcForest) and long short-term memory (LSTM) algorithms for deep learning. Our results indicated that the recognition accuracy of the gcForest algorithm exceeded that of the LSTM algorithm, which is consistent with the fact that the gcForest algorithm is more suitable for smaller sample sizes. In addition, heart-rate-based assessment may lead to erroneous determination of whether an interrogatee is telling the truth or lies because their heart rate may increase as a result of emotional responses.</span>

State of health estimation embedded with hardware accelerator based on long short-term memory combined with Bayesian optimization considering extracted health indicator in charging conditions

Recently, the importance of renewable energy has increased as fossil fuel use is regulated worldwide to protect the environment. Accordingly, the use of electric vehicles (EVs) that use a battery as a power source is increasing and estimating the battery state for an efficient and safe operation of EV is a very significant task. This study proposes a method to estimate the state-of-health (SOH) in which batteries are a major state indicator. A health indicator (HI) capable of determining the state of the battery is derived from the charging part by considering the stopping situation in which there is a slight variation in the battery characteristics of the EV. As an integrity indicator, the partial capacity according to the voltage range set by the user can be considered, and the correlation between the SOH and HI is analyzed for validity verification. To learn the derived HI, a long short-term memory (LSTM) model, a type of deep-neural network, is designed, and model tuning was performed through Bayesian optimization. The absolute error of SOH estimation for the proposed LSTM model is 1.1 %, compared and validated against recurrent neural network (RNN) (1.7 %) and gated recurrent unit (GRU) (1.85 %). After validating the performance of the LSTM algorithm, an analysis of SOH estimation error (1 %) based on LSTM was conducted following pack-level experiments to assess scalability. Finally, for evaluation of operation within a hardware accelerator (HA) for integration into EVs, NVIDIA Jetson Nano was utilized. Upon mounting the algorithm on Jetson Nano, the mean absolute error (MAE) was 0.6581, mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) was 0.7209, and root mean square error (RMSE) was 0.7133, demonstrating excellent estimation performance.

Stock Price Prediction Using LSTM Algorithm

The study demonstrates the effectiveness of LSTM in capturing the temporal dependencies in stock price data, comparing its performance with traditional models.

Long-term autonomous time-keeping of navigation constellations based on sparse sampling LSTM algorithm

The system time of the four major navigation satellite systems is mainly maintained by multiple high-performance atomic clocks at ground stations. This operational mode relies heavily on the support of ground stations. To enhance the high-precision autonomous timing capability of next-generation navigation satellites, it is necessary to autonomously generate a comprehensive space-based time scale on orbit and make long-term, high-precision predictions for the clock error of this time scale. In order to solve these two problems, this paper proposed a two-level satellite timing system, and used multiple time-keeping node satellites to generate a more stable space-based time scale. Then this paper used the sparse sampling Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) algorithm to improve the accuracy of clock error long-term prediction on space-based time scale. After simulation, at sampling times of 300 s, 8.64 × 104 s, and 1 × 106 s, the frequency stabilities of the spaceborne timescale reach 1.35 × 10–15, 3.37 × 10–16, and 2.81 × 10–16, respectively. When applying the improved clock error prediction algorithm, the ten-day prediction error is 3.16 × 10–10 s. Compared with those of the continuous sampling LSTM, Kalman filter, polynomial and quadratic polynomial models, the corresponding prediction accuracies are 1.72, 1.56, 1.83 and 1.36 times greater, respectively.

A deep learning framework for quality control process in the motor oil industry

Given the advancements in the modern world, using Multivariate-Multistage Quality Control (MVMSQC) patterns in continuous production industries is deemed crucial and essential. This study examines the importance and necessity of Multivariate-Multistage Quality Control in manufacturing industries, focusing on motor oil production. Motor oil quality significantly influences engine performance. Thus, the primary objective of this research is to enhance accuracy in detecting faults in quality variables, utilizing deep learning algorithms for visual quality control of data, a facet often overlooked in classical statistical methods and reducing process control time. Combining deep learning algorithms such as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for controlling numerical variables, and Residual Networks (ResNet) and Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNet) for controlling image variables have been employed. Additionally, the Honey Bee Mating Optimization Algorithm (GBC) has been utilized to tune the parameters of the LSTM-CNN and ResNet-DenseNet deep learning algorithms. Combining heuristic algorithms and deep learning algorithms enhances the performance of the final models in quality control processes. A case study in the motor oil production industry is examined to demonstrate the real-world application of the proposed model. The proposed LSTM-CNN hybrid algorithm outperforms individual CNN and LSTM algorithms in fault detection, improving performance by 15% and 8%, respectively. Furthermore, in visual components, the proposed ResNet-DenseNet hybrid algorithm has shown higher accuracy than ResNet and DenseNet algorithms, improving performance by 10% and 15%, respectively. This research significantly contributes to developing Multivariate-Multistage Quality Control in manufacturing industries by employing deep learning methods. The primary aim is to identify faults in quality components and utilize deep learning algorithms for visual quality control of data, a facet often overlooked in classical statistical methods. The research significantly advances multivariate-multistage quality control in manufacturing industries by leveraging deep learning methods. It addresses detecting complex nonlinear patterns in large-scale data with high flexibility and minimal time.

Harnessing LSTM and XGBoost algorithms for storm prediction

Storms can cause significant damage, severe social disturbance and loss of human life, but predicting them is challenging due to their infrequent occurrence. To overcome this problem, a novel deep learning and machine learning approach based on long short-term memory (LSTM) and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) was applied to predict storm characteristics and occurrence in Western France. A combination of data from buoys and a storm database between 1996 and 2020 was processed for model training and testing. The models were trained and validated with the dataset from January 1996 to December 2015 and the trained models were then used to predict storm characteristics and occurrence from January 2016 to December 2020. The LSTM model used to predict storm characteristics showed great accuracy in forecasting temperature and pressure, with challenges observed in capturing extreme values for wave height and wind speed. The trained XGBoost model, on the other hand, performed extremely well in predicting storm occurrence. The methodology adopted can help reduce the impact of storms on humans and objects.

Indoor air quality prediction modeling for a naturally ventilated fitness building using RNN-LSTM artificial neural networks

PurposeExposure to indoor air pollutants poses a significant health risk, contributing to various ailments such as respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. These unhealthy consequences are specifically alarming for athletes during exercise due to their higher respiratory rate. Therefore, studying, predicting and curtailing exposure to indoor air contaminants during athletic activities is essential for fitness facilities. The objective of this study is to develop a neural network model designed for predicting optimal (in terms of health) occupancy intervals using monitored indoor air quality (IAQ) data.Design/methodology/approachThis research study presents an innovative approach employing a long short-term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural network (RNN) to determine optimal occupancy intervals for ensuring the safety and well-being of occupants. The dataset was collected over a 3-month monitoring campaign, encompassing 15 meteorological and indoor environmental parameters monitored. All the parameters were monitored in 5-min intervals, resulting in a total of 77,520 data points. The dataset collection parameters included the building’s ventilation methods as well as the level of occupancy. Initial preprocessing involved computing the correlation matrix and identifying highly correlated variables to serve as inputs for the LSTM network model.FindingsThe findings underscore the efficacy of the proposed artificial intelligence model in forecasting indoor conditions, yielding highly specific predicted time slots. Using the training dataset and established threshold values, the model effectively identifies benign periods for occupancy. Validation of the predicted time slots is conducted utilizing features chosen from the correlation matrix and their corresponding standard ranges. Essentially, this process determines the ratio of recommended to non-recommended timing intervals.Originality/valueHumans do not have the capacity to process this data and make such a relevant decision, though the complexity of the parameters of IAQ imposes significant barriers to human decision-making, artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, which are different. Present research utilizing multilayer perceptron (MLP) and LSTM algorithms for evaluating indoor air pollution levels lacks the capability to predict specific time slots. This study aims to fill this gap in evaluation methodologies. Therefore, the utilized LSTM-RNN model can provide a day-ahead prediction of indoor air pollutants, making its competency far beyond the human being’s and regular sensors' capacities.

LSTM-Autoencoder Deep Learning Model for Anomaly Detection in Electric Motor

Anomaly detection is the process of detecting unusual or unforeseen patterns or events in data. Many factors, such as malfunctioning hardware, malevolent activities, or modifications to the data’s underlying distribution, might cause anomalies. One of the key factors in anomaly detection is balancing the trade-off between sensitivity and specificity. Balancing these trade-offs requires careful tuning of the anomaly detection algorithm and consideration of the specific domain and application. Deep learning techniques’ applications, such as LSTMs (long short-term memory algorithms), which are autoencoders for detecting an anomaly, have garnered increasing attention in recent years. The main goal of this work was to develop an anomaly detection solution for an electrical machine using an LSTM-autoencoder deep learning model. The work focused on detecting anomalies in an electrical motor’s variation vibrations in three axes: axial (X), radial (Y), and tangential (Z), which are indicative of potential faults or failures. The presented model is a combination of the two architectures; LSTM layers were added to the autoencoder in order to leverage the LSTM capacity for handling large amounts of temporal data. To prove the LSTM efficiency, we will create a regular autoencoder model using the Python programming language and the TensorFlow machine learning framework, and compare its performance with our main LSTM-based autoencoder model. The two models will be trained on the same database, and evaluated on three primary points: training time, loss function, and MSE anomalies. Based on the obtained results, it is clear that the LSTM-autoencoder shows significantly smaller loss values and MSE anomalies compared to the regular autoencoder. On the other hand, the regular autoencoder performs better than the LSTM, comparing the training time. It appears then, that the LSTM-autoencoder presents a superior performance although it was slower than the standard autoencoder due to the complexity of the added LSTM layers.

Power Load Forecast Based on CS-LSTM Neural Network

Load forecast is the foundation of power system operation and planning. The forecast results can guide the power system economic dispatch and security analysis. In order to improve the accuracy of load forecast, this paper proposes a forecasting model based on the combination of the cuckoo search (CS) algorithm and the long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network. Load data are specific data with time series characteristics and periodicity, and the LSTM algorithm can control the information added or discarded through the forgetting gate, so as to realize the function of forgetting or memorizing. Therefore, the use of the LSTM algorithm for load forecast is more effective. The CS algorithm can perform global search better and does not easily fall into local optima. The CS-LSTM forecasting model, where CS algorithm is used to optimize the hyper-parameters of the LSTM model, has a better forecasting effect and is more feasible. Simulation results show that the CS-LSTM model has higher forecasting accuracy than the standard LSTM model, the PSO-LSTM model, and the GA-LSTM model.

Impact of memory on beamforming optimization for DDPG-assisted RIS-multi-user system

Recently, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) have garnered considerable attention as indispensable components driving the evolution of future 6G wireless communication systems. This heightened interest is primarily attributed to notable advancements in programmable meta-material fabrication, which enable the creation of highly versatile and adaptable surfaces. These surfaces, often referred to as intelligent reflecting arrays, represent a significant departure from the conventional capabilities of massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, thereby catalyzing the emergence of intelligent radio environments characterized by enhanced flexibility and efficiency. Our study is dedicated to the comprehensive exploration of coordinated design strategies that encompass both the transmission beamforming matrix at the base station and the phase shift matrix at the RIS. Leveraging recent breakthroughs in deep reinforcement learning (DRL), our approach harnesses the power of a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) based DRL algorithm. This algorithm orchestrates the joint design process through iterative interactions with the environment, strategically guided by predefined rewards operating within a continuous framework of states and actions. While recent research has underscored the efficacy of LSTM-based architectures in bolstering the learning capacity of reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms and simplifying the search process, our investigation reveals a nuanced insight. Contrary to prevailing trends, we find that the integration of memory into the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) with LSTM (DDPG-LSTM) algorithm yields unexpected consequences, negatively impacting the system's overall performance. Through preliminary simulation results, we empirically demonstrate the adverse effect of memory on DDPG performance when applied to RIS systems. This finding not only sheds light on the complexities of optimizing 6G wireless communication systems but also underscores the importance of careful algorithmic design and parameter tuning in achieving desired outcomes in emerging technologies.

Toward better atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons pollution control in the Northern Hemisphere: Process analysis based on interpretable deep learning models

The accurate prediction of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) concentrations in the Arctic is crucial in guiding the development of pollution control measures for atmospheric PAHs. However, the complex formation process and strong time-dependence of PAHs in the Arctic increase the difficulty of prediction. Herein, deep learning (DL) models were developed to predict monthly air concentrations of 16 priority PAHs at Alert monitoring station by incorporating the inherent periodicity of PAH concentrations and ancillary data including PAH emissions, meteorological information, fire emissions, and sea ice area. The prediction performance of long short-term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU) and bidirectional LSTM (Bi LSTM) algorithms were compared by multiple model evaluation metrics. The results showed that Bi LSTM models outperformed LSTM and GRU in predicting PAHs concentrations because it exhibited higher accuracy in terms of average R2ext (0.09) and errors (average MAPEext = 1.45). The DL interpretation based on SHAP values suggested that the main drivers of PAHs concentrations were PAHs emissions and sea ice area, with a more prominent contribution from meteorological conditions. The interpretable deep learning approach provides a potential shortcut for predicting time-delayed PAHs concentrations in the Arctic, promoting the management and control of global PAHs pollution.

Enhancing the exploitation of natural resources for green energy: An application of LSTM-based meta-model for aluminum prices forecasting

Efficient resource allocation for electric car production can be achieved by anticipating aluminum future pricing. For the electric car sector to maintain a steady supply chain, efficient production, and long-term growth, accurate forecasts are essential for policymakers to plan resource policies. The accuracy of ensemble learning models in predicting Aluminum prices was analyzed using Gene Expression programming and long short-term memory (LSTM) method. The analysis was based on monthly frequency spot settlement price data of Aluminum, copper, silver, and crude oil prices, as well as currency inflation rates of USA, China, and Peru. The study period spanned from January 1, 1994 to December 31, 2022, and also included the gross domestic product (GDP) of USA, China, and other metal minerals. Initially, we assess the level of multicollinearity between each chosen input parameter and Aluminum price volatility using Variance inflation factor-based multicollinearity. The primary innovation of this study lies in the creation of a highly precise model that utilizes the LSTM algorithm to estimate monthly Aluminum prices. This model serves as a revolutionary forecasting method. An extensive evaluation of various ensemble learning models reveals that XGBoost is the optimal model for accurately forecasting monthly Aluminum prices. The LSTM-based recurrent neural network model exhibited the lowest error, with a Mean Relative Error (MRE) ranging from 0.001 to 0.008, RMSE ranging from 54.527 to 136.044, and R2 ranging from 0.95 to 0.983. The findings demonstrated that the LSTM-based super learner models had superior performance compared to the CatBoost, LightBoost, Random Forest, XGBoost, and AdaBoost models, as evidenced by higher values of the determination coefficient (R2), value account for (VAF), and other 10 error analysis evaluators. Therefore, the utilization of an LSTM-based super learner model can serve as a dependable approach for forecasting future monthly Aluminum prices. In addition, this study introduces a logical mathematical model utilizing gene expression programming (GEP) to anticipate future Aluminum prices, which can be utilized by other researchers. Thus, we conclude that both the GEP and ensemble learning models, particularly the LSTM-based Super learner model, are appropriate for precise metal price predictions, which can benefit policymakers and assist in resource policy planning.

Fuzzy Deep Learning Recurrent Neural Network Algorithm to Detect Corn Leaf Disease

Corn is a major commodity after rice in supporting food self-sufficiency in Indonesia. However, due to leaf disease, the quality and quantity of corn plants are greatly reduced. The problem with detecting corn leaf diseases is that the detection method is still manual, making it inefficient and ineffective. Therefore, in this study, disease detection on corn leaves was performed using the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) methods. First, oversampling was carried out to ensure an equal amount of data in all classes, then the corn leaf images were pre-processed before being input into the LSTM algorithm. After completing clustering process in the [Formula: see text] algorithm, the next step involved extracting texture features using the Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) technique, followed by classification using LSTM. To assess their performance, both algorithms underwent evaluation using the k-fold cross-validation method, and their accuracy and speed were compared. The results of the k-fold cross-validation demonstrated that the [Formula: see text] algorithm achieved an accuracy of 63.53%, whereas the LSTM algorithm achieved an accuracy of 80.24%. In terms of the time required for training and prediction, the LSTM algorithm took 13[Formula: see text]min and 18[Formula: see text]s for training on corn leaf disease images, while the prediction process only took 1.59[Formula: see text]s. The training and prediction time required for the [Formula: see text] algorithm were 65[Formula: see text]min and 24[Formula: see text]s and 5[Formula: see text]min and 44[Formula: see text]s, respectively. The conclusion of this study is that the LSTM algorithm has better accuracy and time compared to [Formula: see text] on the dataset used in this study in terms of corn leaf disease detection.

Performance analysis of a blockchain enabled domestic power consumption monitoring and forecasting system

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a blockchain-based data capture and transmission system that will collect real-time power consumption data from a household electrical appliance and transfer it securely to a local server for energy analytics such as forecasting. Design/methodology/approach The data capture system is composed of two current transformer (CT) sensors connected to two different electrical appliances. The CT sensors send the power readings to two Arduino microcontrollers which in turn connect to a Raspberry-Pi for aggregating the data. Blockchain is then enabled onto the Raspberry-Pi through a Java API so that the data are transmitted securely to a server. The server provides real-time visualization of the data as well as prediction using the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) and long short term memory (LSTM) algorithms. Findings The results for the blockchain analysis demonstrate that when the data readings are transmitted in smaller blocks, the security is much greater as compared with blocks of larger size. To assess the accuracy of the prediction algorithms data were collected for a 20 min interval to train the model and the algorithms were evaluated using the sliding window approach. The mean average percentage error (MAPE) was used to assess the accuracy of the algorithms and a MAPE of 1.62% and 1.99% was obtained for the LSTM and MLP algorithms, respectively. Originality/value A detailed performance analysis of the blockchain-based transmission model using time complexity, throughput and latency as well as energy forecasting has been performed.

DWT-BILSTM-based models for day-ahead hourly global horizontal solar irradiance forecasting

AbstractAccurate forecasting of electricity generation from renewable energy sources is crucial for the operation, planning and management of smart grids. For reliable planning and operation of photovoltaic (PV) systems in grid-connected or islanded utilities, an hourly day-ahead forecast of PV output is critical. The forecast of PV power can be done indirectly by estimating solar irradiance. For forecasting day-ahead hourly global horizontal irradiance (GHI), two forecasting models with different multivariate inputs are proposed in this paper, and the results are compared. These models use a hybrid algorithm of discrete wavelet decomposition and bidirectional long short-term memory (BILSTM). The inputs of the first model contain GHI and weather type data. The other model allows for observation of the effect of meteorological values including GHI, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and weather type data. The forecasting performance of deep learning algorithms which contain recurrent neural network (RNN), long short-term memory (LSTM), and BILSTM algorithms for day ahead hourly solar irradiance forecasting problems are also compared. To evaluate the performance of proposed models, two datasets are used for Model 1 and one dataset is used for Model 2. An experiment is also done to demonstrate that the proposed Model 1 is applicable in datasets collected in the vicinity of the city of Trabzon. On the other hand, BILSTM algorithm outperforms RNN and LSTM algorithms. It is seen that the test successes of both proposed models are better than the results given in the literature.

Prediction of Losses Due to Dust in PV Using Hybrid LSTM-KNN Algorithm: The Case of Saruhanlı

Sustainable and renewable energy sources are of great importance in today’s world. In this respect, renewable energy sources are used in many fields of technology. In order to minimize dust on PV panels and ensure their sustainability, power losses due to dust must be estimated accurately. In this way, the efficiency of a sustainable energy source will increase and serious economic savings can be achieved. In this study, a hybrid deep learning model was designed to predict losses caused by dust in PV panels installed in the Manisa Saruhanlı district. The hybrid deep learning model consists of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and K-Nearest-Neighbors (KNN) algorithms. The performance of the proposed hybrid deep learning model was compared with LSTM and KNN algorithms. Sensitivity analysis was performed to statistically evaluate the prediction results. The input variables of the models were time, sunshine duration, humidity, ambient temperature and solar radiation. The output variable was the losses caused by dust in the PV panels. Hybrid LSTM-KNN, LSTM and KNN models predicted losses caused by dust in PV panels with 98.22%, 95.51% and 61.49% accuracy. The hybrid LSTM-KNN model predicted losses caused by dust in PV panels with higher accuracy than other models. Using LSTM and KNN algorithms together improved the performance of the hybrid deep learning model. With sensitivity analysis, it was found that solar radiation is the most important variable affecting the losses caused by dust in PV panels.

The Relationship between Interpreting Anxiety and Learning Motivation Assisted by Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network Algorithms

The Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network algorithm has achieved significant results in natural language processing and speech recognition. This study explores the application of the LSTM algorithm in the study of the relationship between interpreting anxiety and learning motivation. The article mainly uses questionnaire survey method to obtain research data. The participates include students engaged in translation research and professional translators. After statistical analysis of the research data, it was found that there was a significant correlation between translation anxiety and learning motivation (r=-0.62, p<0.001). According to calculation results, the average score is 3.42 and the standard deviation is 0.76. The average score of evaluating the learning enthusiasm of participants through corresponding questionnaires is 4.27, with an SD of 0.92. Further regression analysis of the data was conducted, and the results showed that respondents with low translation anxiety had stronger learning motivation（β=- 0.43, p<0.001). It can be seen that reducing learners' fear of translation can enhance their learning motivation, thereby stimulating their interest in learning. This indicates that reducing translation anxiety may be helpful to improve the learning motivation level of interpreting learners. The study is of great significance for improving the learning enthusiasm of translation learners and reducing translation anxiety and provides a new perspective and research method for future related research.

Self-healing hybrid intrusion detection system: an ensemble machine learning approach

The increasing complexity and adversity of cyber-attacks have prompted discussions in the cyber scenario for a prognosticate approach, rather than a reactionary one. In this paper, a signature-based intrusion detection system has been built based on C5 classifiers, to classify packets into normal and attack categories. Next, an anomaly-based intrusion detection was built based on the LSTM (Long-Short Term Memory) algorithm to detect anomalies. These anomalies are then fed into the signature generator to extract attributes. These attributes get uploaded into the C5 training set, aiding the ensemble model in continual learning with expanding signatures of unknown attacks. By generating signatures of unknown attacks, the self-healing attribute of the ensemble model contributes to the early detection of attacks. For the C5 classifier, the proposed model is evaluated on the UNSW-NB15 dataset, while for the LSTM model, it is evaluated on the ADFA-LD dataset. Compared to conventional models, the experimental results show better detection rates for both known and unknown attacks. The C5 classifier achieved a True Positive Rate of 97% while maintaining a false positive rate of 8%. Also, the LSTM model achieved a detection rate of 90% while retaining a 17% False Alarm Rate. As the proposed model learns, its performance in real network traffic also improves and it also eliminates human intervention when updating training data.

Unlike tasks such as summarization and paraphrasing, generating questions requires not only understanding the text but also being able to frame questions that elicit specific information, thus necessitating answers. To overcome this challenge, the approach involves several steps. First, the text undergoes preprocessing with NLP techniques to remove irrelevant or redundant information, as well as to identify and extract keywords crucial for generating questions. Next, LSTM algorithms are employed to process the text and keywords, enabling the system to understand the context and semantic nuances present in the text. Once the text has been processed, the system begins constructing questions. Instead of directly asking questions based on the extracted keywords, the LSTM algorithm twists or rephrases the questions to ensure they are not merely repetitions of the original text. This twisting process involves rearranging sentence structures, altering word choices, or introducing subtle variations to produce questions that are natural-sounding and coherent while still effectively eliciting the desired information. By leveraging NLP techniques and LSTM algorithms in this manner, the system can generate questions that are not only semantically accurate and syntactically cohesive but also effectively engage with the content of the text, overcoming the challenge of needing answers to frame meaningful questions. This approach represents an innovative use of NLP technology to enhance question generation capabilities, enabling more robust and contextually relevant questioning from textual data.

Implementasi Algoritma Long Short-Term Memory dalam Prediksi Konsentrasi Gas Metana (CH4) di Kota Salatiga

Implementation of the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) algorithm is done to build a prediction model that can handle complex time series data. Model development uses training and testing data and combines multiple time series to improve prediction accuracy. Model testing is done by measuring the root mean square error (RMSE) value as a performance indicator. The test results show that the application of the LSTM algorithm to the (CH4) sensor provides an optimal RMSE value, namely with a value for training data of 20% (0.09) and test data of 80% (0.14), indicating the prediction accuracy of methane gas (CH4) concentration is potentially unexploded, the results obtained have important implications for safety monitoring. This test contributes to the development of predictive methods to monitor and manage potential risks associated with (CH4) concentrations. The application of LSTM to (CH4) sensors not only improves prediction accuracy but also opens up opportunities for the development of safety systems that can more effectively predict and prevent potentially harmful phenomena due to methane gas.
