Comparative Analysis of Network Development Local Area Network (LAN) Fiber Optical Cable with Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Cat 6 Cable at SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya

The LAN Network at SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya previously used media UTP Cat5e network with poor performance due to bandwidth UTP Cat5e is only 200 Mb/s, therefore the school choose to replace it network media with fiber optics, with a bandwidth that can reach 1 Gb/s. On the other there is still UTP Cat6 with the same bandwidth of 1Gb/s at a cost installation is lower than fiber optic network installation. Data collection on performance is carried out using the Quality of Service (QoS) approach with the parameters measured, namely Delay, Jitter, Packet loss and Throughput using Wireshark software. Performance of fiber optic and UTP Cat6 networks at SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya in categorize “Good” according to Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Hormonization Over Network (TIPHON) standards. Test results from optical fiber obtained a delay of 2.58 ms, jitter of 2.38 ms, packet loss of 0.254 and throughput of 805.92 Mbps. The test results of the UTP Cat6 cable were obtained delay of 5.59 ms, jitter of 5.21 ms, packet loss of 0.559 and throughput of 623.73 Mbps.

The quality of internet networks has emerged as a pivotal aspect in facilitating swift information access and efficient data exchange across corporate, governmental, higher education, and school settings. This research aims to evaluate the performance of the Local Area Network (LAN) at the Computer Laboratory of SMK Wiyata Satya by employing the Quality of Service (QoS) method. The QoS method is utilized to manage key parameters within the network, such as bandwidth, throughput, jitter, packet loss, and latency. The primary focus of this study lies in identifying issues within the network, including connectivity difficulties and disruption in connections that can impact user experience. This study is crucial because internet technology plays a vital role in enhancing students' learning experiences in educational settings. Evaluating LAN network performance is critical in ensuring that modern education harnesses internet technology effectively. The outcomes of this research are anticipated to provide profound insights into potential solutions to enhance the quality of internet networks in educational environments, thereby supporting a superior learning experience for students.

RANCANGAN JARINGAN LAN MENGGUNAKAN ROUTING PROTOKOL EIGRP DI SMK AL-KHAIRIYAH 1

Local Area Network (LAN) is a group of computers connected in an area that is not so broad in one office or building. The routing protocol makes the network more efficient in exchanging data, the EIGRP routing protocol is a distance vector routing protocol that uses metric calculations like EIGRP. Activities in SMK AL-KHAIRIYAH 1 have used a computer as a tool, and do not have a LAN network. The problem is that data sharing is limited, no computer server connects to make it easier to store data and backup in an organized manner. The data collection techniques used direct observation at SMK Al-Kahiriyah 1 and interviewing the principal. The result of the research is that the LAN network system uses the EIGRP routing protocol that allow all necessary data to stored on the server and facilitate data exchange and processing.

TRANSFORMASI PELAYANAN DESA BERBASIS DIGITAL MODERN DAN PENGEMBANGAN SUMBER DAYA MANUSIA MELALUI PROGRAM PELATIHAN

Mataram University as a tertiary institution has the duties and functions of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research, and community service. Such efforts are not only carried out and become the obligation of lecturers alone, but also for students. The use of technology in the village of North Surabaya is still lacking, the village administration system is still carried out manually and the dissemination of village information is still uneven. With the existence of a village website, it is hoped that administrative management and distribution of information will be evenly distributed. The understanding of the North Surabaya village community about digital is still very minimal, of course there must be efforts that needs to be done to increase human resources regarding digitization in order to take advantage of the potential that exists in the village of North Surabaya. The implementation of the work program is carried out using a participatory method by collaborating with various existing stakeholders, the output of the real work lecture program is assisting SSID development, making a Local Area Network (LAN) master plan, and creating a temporary village website in the village of North Surabaya. For 45 days in North Surabaya Village we have carried out the main program, namely creating a temporary website containing village infographics and making a LAN master plan which later the village can use as a reference when installing a LAN network at the village office. In addition to the main work program, there is also an additional work program, namely the socialization of "Cute Internet" with the aim of developing human resources in North Surabaya Village to make positive use of the internet.

Applying Effective Software for Controlling Computers Remotely

Today, many educational institutes, labs, houses or organisations have their private Local Area Network (LAN), so they need to monitor employees, students in exams or machines which are working on the network. This paper aims to design and implement efficient application that can be used to track everyone who is working between 1-10 users (operating systems) on LAN network remotely; so access PC, Mac and Linux. In other words, it can monitor screens remotely, send a warning message and shutdown system. Including, it operates at low-cost, enables daily using in the services of all scales; and provide the network performance simultaneously. The implementation has achieved using Front end- JDK, JAVA language, Windows 7, 8, and10, Visio, Wireshark, Task manager, chart expert, Microsoft excel, ten computers, Ethernet & Wireless of LAN network, etc. This software has applied in real-world in students examinations at three schools in Iraq. As a result, this software eligible to allocate the task to clients to restrict them from misusing the resources. As well as, automates lab and monitor attendance with performance analysis.

Local Area Network (LAN) is a type of computer network that covers a local area and is widely used in various aspects . I n places that provide LAN connections there are those using Wi-Fi technology which are usually called hotspots. Damage to the LAN, especially Wi-fi itself, is often experienced by the community . It is also inconvenient for internet network users due to lack of knowledge about the damage. Therefore, it is necessary to create a system that can be used to collect knowledge data from network experts and store it. The result of this research is an expert system that diagnoses LAN network damage. The system automatically provides diagnostic results by displaying the type of glitch and its solution based on the symptoms of the glitches experienced. The conclusion of this study is that an expert system by using the Dempster Shafer method to handle data uncertainty when diagnosing LAN service disruptions is very helpful in overcoming the problem of declining service quality.

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic occurred, companies engaged in the retail sector have experienced a decline in the impact of government regulations such as PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) so that all activities were carried out from home or Work from Home (WFH). to assist companies or agencies with various types of information systems in carrying out their business activities and operations This server is one of the most important in the retail company. The opening of several accesses from the public network (internet) to the local area network (LAN) The security of a LAN network that is accessed from a public network is usually an administrator's problem. Often, the security problems of both the network and the entire application system, as well as the web server, are neglected just to ensure that operational activities run smoothly, and security is only realised after a disaster occurs. Without a good network security and application system, the application of any sophisticated technology will be very dangerous for the company, institution, or organisation itself. So, it takes a security analysis of all activities on the LAN, servers, and other devices to prevent mitigation and to be more aware of server security vulnerabilities. Based on the context of the existing issues, a penetration testing analysis is required. As supporting material, this research also uses guidelines from the CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) module and the official Acunetix website. The test of this research is aimed at finding the weaknesses of the existing company/institution servers. Among others, quite a lot of weaknesses were found, where each of these weaknesses has a different handling, ports that should be blocked but are opened freely, and access to public IPs that are less important should be closed. The solutions proposed to overcome these problems include: the use of this Acunetix standard can be maintained and continued; testing is much better if carried out more than two times; periodically upgrading SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) vulnerable; increasing the level of server security; migration of quality antivirus; and upgrade of expired operating systems.

An Analysis and Implementation of Local Area Network (LAN) As Data Communication Media In Computer-Based Test at SMPN 19 of Central Bengkulu

This study aims to build a LAN network infrastructure at SMPN 19 Bengkulu Tengah, implement a computer-based exam system using Moodle, optimize the use of computers at SMPN 19 Bengkulu Tengah, and implement a teaching and learning process by utilizing information technology. This research uses action research research methods. In the action research method, the researcher describes, interprets and explains a condition at the same time by conducting an intervention with the aim of improvement or participation. The results of this study indicate that the use of a computer-based test application on a LAN network that has been implemented at SMPN 19 Bengkulu is running well according to the results of service quality testing with a delay parameter of 6.47 ms, jitter of 1.64 ms, and packet loss of 0.998% and The server used in this study also has a fairly good performance which can be seen from the CPU usage by 20%, memory usage by 88%, and network usage of 1 kbps.

Detection and Blocking of Replay, False Command, and False Access Injection Commands in SCADA Systems with Modbus Protocol

Industrial control systems (ICS) are being used for surveillance and controlling numerous industrial process plants in national critical infrastructures. Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system is a core component in ICS systems for continuous monitoring and controlling these process plants. Legacy SCADA systems are working in isolated networks and using proprietary communication protocols which made them less exposed to cyber threats. In recent times, these ICS systems have been connected to Internet and corporate networks for data sharing and remote monitoring. They are also using open protocols and operating systems. This leads to vulnerabilities of the system to cyberattacks. Cybersecurity threats are more prevalent than ever in ICS systems. These attacks may be external or internal. Modbus is a widely deployed communication protocol for SCADA communications. There is no security in design of Modbus protocol, and it is vulnerable to numerous cyberattacks. In this paper, we worked for False Command Injection attack, False Access Injection attack, and replay attacks on Modbus protocol. Initially, a real-time SCADA testbed was set up, and we envisaged the impact of these attacks on Modbus protocol data using the testbed. In this work, we used local area network (LAN) environment only for simulating the attacks. We assumed that the attacks penetrated the LAN network. We proposed and developed (a) a method to detect replay attacks by incorporating time stamp and sequence number in Modbus communications and (b) a frame filtering module which will block unauthorized attacks like False Command Injection and False Access Injection attacks to reach programmable logic controller (PLC). Numbers of attacks were simulated and the performance of the method was measured using attack block rate (ABR). It blocked 97% of malicious Modbus transactions or attacks to reach the PLC. It protects SCADA systems from attackers, which is a core component of industrial control systems. The solution enhanced the security of SCADA systems with Modbus protocol.

IMPLEMENTASI NETWORK ADDRESS TRANSLATION (NAT) MENGGUNAKAN KERIO CONTROL VERSI 7.4.1 DI PUSAT PENELITIAN BIOTEKNOLOGI – LIPI

Biotechnology Research Center as an institution engaged in the research, the need for data and updated information is an absolute thing. This requirement can be met one of them is the use of information technology either by using the internet. With the increasing number of Internet users in Biotechnology Research Center and order for all users who are members of the Local Area Network (LAN) can utilize the internet needed a good network management. While, during the network management Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), under the supervision of the Joint Network Team (TGJ – LIPI ) only provide one local IP segment which is limited to only 250 users. While number of internet users in Biotechnology Research Center and more than that number will continue to grow. To overcome these problems, then the LAN network at the Research Center for Biotechnology service facility utilizes Network Address Translation (NAT) contained in Kerio Control software version 7.4.1. The subject of this article is limited to the implementation and configuration of NAT using Kerio Control 7.4.1 version. From these results, we concluded that the implementation of NAT helps all users in the network LAN Biotechnology Research Center get Public IP, so that it can connect to the internet properly.

This makes the emergence of the idea to establish an MM algorithm is applied to a practical application o f automation systems. MM algorithm works by determining many lab classes based on students who took the KRS. Furthermore, students who have paid practicum will be immediately incorporated into the classes that are available with regard to the number of students and GPA o f students per class, so it will obtain practical classes by the number o f students and the average GPA o f each class balanced.Concept application using client-server database, where the database is on the Local Area Network (LAN) STTA. To facilitate the management admin, then the application will be tested on the LAN network and VPN (Virtual Private Network) network. LAN is a computers network that are connected to a computer server by using specific topologies, typically used in areas of the building or area a distance o f not more than 1 km (local area). Performance of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) local area and wide area networks for medical imaging transmission in clinical environment

Asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) technology emerges as a leading candidate for medical image transmission in both local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) applications. This paper describes the performance of an ATM LAN and WAN network at the University of California, San Francisco. The measurements were obtained using an intensive care unit (ICU) server connecting to four image workstations (WS) at four different locations of a hospital-integrated picture archiving and communication system (HI-PACS) in a daily regular clinical environment. Four types of performance were evaluated: magnetic disk-to-disk, disk-to-redundant array of inexpensive disks (RAID), RAID-to-memory, and memory-to-memory. Results demonstrate that the transmission rate between two workstations can reach 5–6 Mbytes/s from RAID-to-memory, and 8–10 Mbytes/s from memory-to-memory. When the server has to send images to all four workstations simultaneously, the transmission rate to each WS is about 4 Mbytes/s. Both situations are adequate for radiologic image communications for picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and teleradiology applications.
