Factors Influencing Site Selection for Higher Education Institutes: A Meta-Analysis

Higher education institutions can play an important role in improving society by training productive and committed people through providing knowledge, skills, and necessary values. Studying and conducting research in an optimal location in terms of institute accessibility, resilience against natural and external hazards, and environmental comfort is important for the maximum effectiveness of training. The current study explored which factors contribute to site selection for higher education institutes globally. To do so, a literature review and meta-analysis using secondary data from 1990 to 2024 were conducted to integrate findings from 37 original papers. The results showed that so-called socioeconomic health conditions, student considerations on institute accessibility, and transport services are very important. As such, the socioeconomic health scenarios that affect the improvement of institute location suitability should be given global attention. In addition, we recommend that attention be paid to increasing the level of awareness among individuals about economic features and making necessary interventions for educational infrastructure protection.

Let’s CHAT About Artificial Intelligence for Students With Disabilities: A Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis

Researchers have explored artificial intelligence (AI) applications across educational contexts; however, there is a lack of meta-analysis focused on students with disabilities (SWDs). This study examined the overall effect of AI-based interventions on SWDs’ learning outcomes in 29 (quasi-)experimental studies conducted globally. We used cultural historical activity theory (CHAT) to explore how the effect was moderated by factors, including participant-, AI-, AI-SWD interaction-, intervention-, and methodology-related characteristics. Results indicated a medium effect (Hedge’s g = 0.588) of interventions operating through robots, computer software, and intelligent VR systems. There were no statistically significant moderators. Regardless, this study contributes to a holistic understanding of historical dimensions of AI applications for SWDs and offers critical theoretical implications for future investigations. We call for more rigorous research to explore AI that not only ensures accessibility but also promotes opportunities for SWDs to take an agentic role in participating in and contributing to AI-mediated learning activities.

Prevalence of Sarcopenic Obesity in Elderly Population: A Meta-Analysis

Background: Sarcopenic obesity (SO) is characterized by the simultaneous presence of both obesity and sarcopenia in the same individual, and it is associated with adverse health outcomes such as falls, hospitalization, functional disability, and mortality. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the prevalence of SO in the elderly population through a systematic review and meta-analysis of the scientific literature. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and LILACS databases for observational studies published up to July 2023 on the prevalence of SO in individuals aged 65 years or older. Data were collected from the selected and included articles, including general study information, demographic characteristics of the samples, methods, and results. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) criteria. A random-effects model was applied for the quantitative synthesis (meta-analysis) of combined prevalence data, and the I-squared index (I²) was used to assess heterogeneity. Publication bias was evaluated using a funnel plot and Egger’s test. Results: A total of 37 articles meeting the eligibility criteria were selected and included in this meta-analysis. Heterogeneity among the studies was observed, along with evidence of publication bias. Most studies were classified as having a high risk of bias. The pooled prevalence of SO in the elderly was 10% (95% CI: 8%−12%; I²: 99.10%, p<0.001). A similar result was observed after stratification by sex, with a prevalence of 10% in both men (95% CI: 8%−12%; I²: 97.46%, p<0.001) and women (95% CI: 8%−12%; I²: 98.72%, p<0.001). Subgroup and sensitivity analyses revealed that the study setting, criteria used for the diagnosis of obesity, and the risk of bias in the studies were potential factors contributing to the heterogeneity in the prevalence of SO in the elderly. Conclusions: This meta-analysis indicated a significant prevalence of SO among the elderly population, with no difference by sex, highlighting SO as a substantial health problem in this population. These findings underscore the importance of interventions to reduce the occurrence of SO in the elderly.

Unilateral Versus Bilateral Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Flap Breast Reconstruction: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Previous studies have shown a higher complication rate in bilateral (BL) compared to unilateral (UL) deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap breast reconstructions. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to offer an update by including recent studies to thoroughly assess the complication rates in UL versus BL DIEP flap reconstructions and provide clear guidance for clinicians and their patients. A systematic review of the literature and comparative meta-analysis were performed to assess the differences in complication rates between UL and BL procedures. Only comparative studies that reported on postoperative complications after UL and BL DIEP flap breast reconstructions were included. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a random-effects model. Five studies representing 5120 patients who underwent either UL or BL DIEP flap breast reconstructions were included. BL DIEP flap reconstructions were associated with a higher risk of total flap loss, with an OR of 1.48 (95% CI, 1.02-2.14) and a P value of 0.04. Conversely, the risk of reexploration surgery was reduced, with an OR of 0.68 (95% CI, 0.55- 0.84) and a P value of 0.0002. BL DIEP flap breast reconstruction carries a higher risk of complete flap loss compared with UL reconstructions, with a moderate risk increase. Despite this increased risk, the significant benefits of BL reconstruction make it a viable and recommended option for women requiring this type of surgery.

Diagnostic stewardship and dermatology consultation in cellulitis management: a systematic literature review and meta-analysis.

Cellulitis is a common skin infection often requiring antibiotic treatment. However, misdiagnosis and inappropriate antibiotic use contribute to antibiotic resistance and healthcare costs. We aimed to evaluate the impact of dermatology consultation on treatment modification in patients with suspected cellulitis and to determine whether dermatologists' evaluation can be used as a reference to diagnose suspected cellulitis. We explored MedLine (PubMed), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Cochrane CENTRAL, Web of Science, and Scopus and Embase, including publications from database inception to July 25, 2023. Studies were included if they evaluated treatment modifications involving the use of antibiotics for patients with suspected cellulitis with and without dermatology consultation. We excluded comments or reviews, pilot studies, and studies without a non-dermatology control group, treatment modifications, the use of antibiotics, or patients with cellulitis. Of the 49 full-text articles, 14 studies met the selection criteria.This systematic literature review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement and Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) guidelines. Of five independent reviewers (GYC, IP, MG, MKH, and AMRP), two abstracted data for each article using a standardized abstraction form. We used the Downs and Black scale to evaluate study quality. Subgroup analysis was conducted regarding readmission rate within 30 days for two independent populations seen by a non-dermatologist physician or a dermatologist. We employed random-effects models to obtain pooled mean differences. Heterogeneity was assessed using the I-squared value. The impact of dermatology consultation on treatment modification involving antibiotics in patients with suspected cellulitis and readmission rates in 30 days. Dermatology consultation changed initial treatment plans involving antibiotics from 47 to 96% of the time, improving diagnostic accuracy and, consequently, antibiotic stewardship of cellulitis. Dermatology consultation was not significantly associated with lower readmission rates in 30 days (pooled OR = 0.56, 95% CI: 0.25 to 1.25, I2 = 0%). Dermatology consultation in patients with suspected cellulitis may improve diagnosis and management, thereby reducing antibiotic misuse, unnecessary tests, and prolonged hospitalizations.

Devising VIMATE Framework to Assess the Impact of Visualization Tools on Geometric Reasoning and Problem-Solving Skills

Traditional instructional approaches often fail to engage students and solidify conceptual understanding. This study proposes the VIMATE (Visualization Impact on Mathematical Transformations Assessment in Education) framework and introduces a novel empirical approach for evaluating the role of visualization tools in enhancing student comprehension of geometric transformations. In order to conduct this analysis, an original dataset was obtained from 300 high school students. The VIMATE framework involves several components of the research and is complemented by a literature review and meta-analysis of selected mathematical software platforms, such as MATLAB, Mathematica and GeoGebra, and quasi-experimental student assessments, as well as, questionnaires capturing the teachers’ and learners’ opinions. The overall aim of this approach is to fill major gaps in the prior research by offering an integrated methodology to objectively evaluate these visualization instruments on student achievement, reasoning abilities, and problem-solving strategies. The research makes four pivotal contributions by presenting the VIMATE framework as the methodological approach for assessing the use of educational technology in teaching practice.

Aortic Dimension in Elite Athletes: Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

To assess the presence and the extent of an "aortic remodeling" in elite athletes. A systematic review and meta-analysis of literature were conducted for studies (1981-2024) reporting echocardiographic aortic diameters of elite athletes compared to non-athlete healthy controls. Among the 5,494 studies retrieved, 21 (9,464 elite athletes vs. 2,637 non-athlete controls) fulfilled all eligibility criteria. Data were aggregated using a random effects model for estimating the pooled risk ratio and mean difference. Absolute aortic diameters at the sinus of Valsalva (AoSV) were higher in overall elite athletes compared to non-athlete healthy controls (mean difference [MD] 1.69 [95% CI 1.01-2.37] mm; p <0.001) and if stratified to sex. This difference was maintained if AoSV was indexed to height (AoSV/h) (MD 0.04 [95% CI -0.00-0.08] mm/m; ES 2.18 [95% CI 1.10-3.26]; p<0.001). The analysis of AoSV/h according to sex was not performed for the paucity of studies. However, when indexed to body surface area (AoSV/BSA), no differences were found between the two groups (MD 0.04 [95% CI -0.25-0.34] mm/m2; p = 0.880), also according to sex. Above findings were not influenced by age. Absolute AoSV was mildly larger in athletes compared to non-athlete healthy controls, even when indexed to height. However, no differences were evident when indexed by BSA, irrespective of sex, type of sport and age. Therefore, assessment of the aortic size in elite athletes should consider the proper normalization in order to avoid misdiagnosis of aortopathies. CRD42024561255.

Systematic literature review and meta-analysis of health state utility values in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

Despite being an important goal, the preservation of quality of life of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) is poorly characterized across lines of therapy. In this review, a systematic literature review and meta-analysis were conducted to synthesize EuroQoL 5-Dimension (EQ-5D) data among adult men with asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic mCRPC in both first line (1L) and second line and later (2L+) therapy. MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane CENTRAL were searched from inception to October 2022 using Ovid. Supplemental searches of other data sources were also conducted (PROSPERO registration: CRD42021283512). Meta-analyses were conducted to estimate pooled EQ-5D index utility values and EQ visual analog scale (VAS) scores in both 1L and 2L+. Various sensitivity analyses were also conducted. Forty-five unique publications met the inclusion criteria. In primary studies, baseline EQ-5D index utility values ranged from 0.7 to 0.9 in 1L and 0.63 to 0.7 in 2L+. Twelve trials and observational studies were feasible for inclusion in the meta-analysis. The pooled mean baseline EQ-5D index utility value was estimated as 0.79 (95% CI, 0.70-0.84) and 0.69 (95% CI, 0.67-0.71) for 1L (n = 7 studies) and 2L + (n = 4 studies), respectively. The pooled mean baseline EQ VAS score was estimated as 74.63 (95% CI, 70.97-78.29) and 65.82 (95% CI, 64.53-67.11) in 1L and 2L+, respectively. Limitations include hampered comparability between studies due to heterogeneity in study design and geographical regions. This study provides a comprehensive synthesis of EQ-5D data presently available in adults with mCRPC in both 1L and 2L + therapy.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the impact of muscle fatigue on the biomechanics of joint range of motion (ROM) in badminton

This study aims to evaluate the impact of muscle fatigue on the biomechanics of joint range of motion (ROM) in badminton athletes through a systematic literature review and meta-analysis. Muscle fatigue can affect athletic performance, particularly in dynamic movements such as lunges and smashes. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method and PRISMA, this study identified and analyzed 9 scientific articles from the Scopus and WoS databases published between 2019 and 2024. Meta-analysis was conducted by calculating the Standardized Mean Difference (SMD) and the 95% confidence interval (95% CI). The results showed that ROM in the hip joint significantly decreased after fatigue, with an SMD of -0.56 (95% CI: -0.76 to -0.36), which increases the risk of adductor and abductor injuries. On the other hand, ankle ROM showed no significant changes between pre-fatigue and post-fatigue conditions (SMD = 0.06, 95% CI: -0.13 to 0.25). For the knee joint, significant heterogeneity was found among studies with an I² value of 52% and an overall SMD of -0.01 (95% CI: -0.28 to 0.26), indicating that the effect of fatigue on knee ROM was inconsistent. This study concludes that muscle fatigue plays a crucial role in biomechanical changes that may increase the risk of injury in badminton athletes. Coaches are advised to implement interventions such as dynamic stretching and foam rolling to reduce muscle stiffness and maintain optimal ROM during matches. This study provides a critical scientific basis for developing evidence-based injury prevention programs.

Wide surgical margins may be necessary to reduce recurrence and mortality in patients with localized periosteal chondrosarcoma: retrospective analysis of twenty three patients and literature meta-analysis.

Periosteal chondrosarcoma (PCS) is the rarest subtype of chondrosarcoma and is recognized as a low-grade malignant tumour, reported to have an 88% ten year overall survival rate. The relationship between surgical margins and clinical outcome is inconsistent; some authors claim that PCS can be successfully treated with marginal resection and others report more local recurrence and distant metastasis with marginal compared to wide resection. This study was intended to report the treatment and prognosis of localized PCS patients from the Japanese National Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Registry database and to perform a systematic review of the literature to determine the relationship between surgical margins and rates of local recurrence, distant metastasis, and mortality. Twenty-three patients with pathologically-diagnosed PCS between 2006 and 2022 from the Japanese National Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Registry database were retrospectively analyzed. Of the 105 studies found through a systematic search using Pubmed, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases, nine studies were ultimately included. The local recurrence rate after R0 resection was 2.5% (3/118 patients) and after R1 resection was 33.3% (11/33 patients) (p < 0.001). The distant metastasis rate in the R0 resection group was 5.9% (7/118 patients) and in the R1 resection group was 27.3% (9/33 patients) (p = 0.010). Mortality following R0 resection was 4.2% (5/118 patients) but after R1 resection was 18.2% (6/33 patients) (p = 0.040). Wide resection may be necessary for localized PCS to prevent local recurrence and distant metastasis and improve survival.

Upregulation of CRISP3 and its clinical values in adult sepsis: a comprehensive analysis based on microarrays and a two-retrospective-cohort study.

Current lines of evidence indicate that cysteine-rich secretory protein 3 (CRISP3) is an immunoregulatory factor. Nevertheless, no study has explored the relationships between the values of CRISP3 and sepsis. We conducted a comprehensive literature search and meta-analysis from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and ArrayExpress to determine the expression of CRISP3 in sepsis patients. Then, we explored whether plasma CRISP3 could serve as a potential biomarker to predict the risk of sepsis via two retrospective trauma cohorts. We evaluated the prediction power using the area under the curve (AUC). A total of 23 datasets were recruited for the comprehensive meta-analysis, and the combined standardized mean difference (SMD) of CRISP3 was 0.90 (0.50-1.30) (p < 0.001), suggesting that CRISP3 was overexpressed in sepsis patients. Meanwhile, sepsis patients had higher CRISP3 concentrations than non-sepsis patients in 54 trauma patients (p < 0.001). Plasma CRISP3 on admission was significantly associated with the incidence of sepsis [OR = 1.004 (1.002-1.006), p < 0.001]. As a predictive biomarker, CRISP3 obtained a better AUC [0.811 (0.681-0.905)] than C-reactive protein (CRP) [0.605 (0.463-0.735)], procalcitonin (PCT) [0.554 (0.412-0.689)], and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) [0.754 (0.618-0.861)]. Additionally, the clinical relationships between plasma CRISP3 and sepsis were verified in another trauma cohort with 166 patients [OR = 1.002 (1.001-1.003), p < 0.001]. The AUC of CRISP3 was 0.772 (0.701-0.834), which was better than that of CRP [0.521 (0.442-0.599)] and PCT [0.531 (0.452-0.609)], but not SOFA [0.791 (0.717-0.853)]. Our study indicated and validated that CRISP3 was highly expressed in sepsis. More importantly, CRISP3 may serve as a latent biomarker to predict the risk of sepsis.

Quantifying the association between PM2.5 air pollution and IQ loss in children: a systematic review and meta-analysis

BackgroundA growing body of epidemiologic and toxicologic literature indicates that fine airborne particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution is neurotoxic and threatens children’s neurobehavioral development, resulting in reduced cognitive function. Understanding the magnitude of this effect is critical for establishing public health policies that will protect children’s health, preserve human capital, and support societal progress.ObjectiveTo quantify the association between ambient PM2.5 air pollution and loss of cognitive function in children, as measured by Intelligence Quotient (IQ) scores, through a systematic literature review and meta-analysis.MethodsFollowing PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic literature search across seven databases: Agricultural and Environmental Science, BIOSIS Citation Index, Embase, GreenFILE, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science to identify original scientific studies that investigated the impact of PM2.5 exposure during pre-and postnatal periods on IQ loss during childhood. Using data from studies included for final review, we conducted a meta-analysis, using a random effects model to compute a beta coefficient that quantifies the overall effect of PM2.5 exposure on Full-Scale IQ (FSIQ), Performance IQ (PIQ), and Verbal IQ (VIQ).FindingsOf the 1,107 unique publications identified, six studies met the inclusion criteria for final review, representing 4,860 children across three continents (North America, Europe, and Asia). The mean PM2.5 concentration across all studies was 30.4 ± 24.4 µg/m3. Exposure timing ranged from the prenatal period to mid-childhood. Children were an average of 8.9 years old at the time of cognitive testing. We found that each 1 µg/m3 increase in PM2.5 concentration is associated with a -0.27 point change in FSIQ (p < 0.001), 0.39 point change in PIQ (p = 0.003), and -0.24 point change in VIQ (p = 0.021).ConclusionThrough a systematic review and meta-analysis, we identified a statistically significant relationship between increased exposure to PM2.5 air pollution and reduced cognitive function in children, with the most pronounced impact on PIQ. This analysis will enable estimation of the burden of adverse neurobehavioral development attributable to PM2.5 in pediatric populations and will inform local and global strategies for exposure prevention.

Visualising the research landscape on financial issues among special needs children: A bibliometric analysis from 1992 to 2024

A special needs family requires proper guidance as there are emotional and financial aspects involved in planning. The global concern surrounding financial planning for families with children who have special needs poses a significant risk to the well-being of these families. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research on financial issues among special needs children, using data from the Scopus database. The analysis covers 32 documents published between 1992 and 2024, focusing on three main aspects: the evolution of research, major contributors, and keyword mapping. This study developed visualisations and integrated data using VOSviewer 1.6.15 and Harzing’s Publish or Perish, respectively. The results show a slow but steady growth in publications since 1992, with a dramatic increase after 2012. The United States dominates the research landscape regarding publications and citations, followed by China, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The most productive institutions and authors are identified, along with the most frequently cited papers. Keyword analysis reveals a focus on autism, economics, and children, with emerging themes such as financial well-being, coping behaviour, and mental health. The study highlights the need for more interdisciplinary and global research efforts to address the complex financial challenges faced by families with special needs children. This study is considered to be reasonably representative as it focused on papers indexed in the Scopus database. This bibliometric study can be utilised as an initial undertaking in doing systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses. The findings are expected to stimulate future research and provide direction for advancing the field of study. The findings can also inform future research directions and policy initiatives aimed at addressing the financial challenges faced by families with special needs children. Limitations and suggestions for further research are discussed.

Supplementation of Olive Oil and Flaxseed Oil on Blood Pressure and Inflammation in Healthy and At-Risk Adults: A Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis.

Adding olive oil (OO) and flaxseed oil (FLO) to the diet has been reported to improve endothelial function and reduce inflammation. However, the efficacy of supplementing OO and FLO on blood pressure (BP) in normo-, pre-, and hypertensive stage 1 adults is uncertain. This study aimed to systematically review the literature on OO and FLO supplementation on BP and select inflammatory markers in healthy adults and adults at risk of hypertension. Four databases, PubMed, CINHAL, Web of Science, and Medline (Ovid), were searched from inception until October 2023 for randomized control trials (RCTs) comparing OO and FLO supplementation in normotensive or adults at risk of hypertension. The outcomes included were systolic blood pressure (SBP) and/or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and at least one inflammatory marker, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin6 (IL6), or tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα). The risk of bias was assessed using version 2 of the Cochrane risk of bias tool for RCTs, publication bias visualization was performed using funnel plots, and meta-analysis was completed to generate average estimates of effects in 2024. Seventeen RCTs, comprising 14 studies on OO and 3 on FLO, met the inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis using a random-effects model reported no significant effect on SBP n=17 mean difference (MD) -0.48; 95% CI: -1.76, 0.80; p=0.65, I2=0%) and DBP (n=16, MD -0.47; 95% CI: -1.33, 0.39; p=0.65, I2=0%) or inflammatory markers, CRP (n=8, MD 0.11; 95% CI: -1.18, 0.40; p=0.98, I2=0%), IL6 (n=3, MD -0.15; 95% CI: -0.57, 0.27; p=0.87, I2=0%), and TNFα (n=3, MD-0.08; 95% CI: -0.12, -0.03; p=0.98, I2=0%). Longer-duration, higher-dose, and larger-scale RCTs are needed to better understand the efficacy of OO and FLO supplementation on BP. Further insight will better inform dietary supplement use for preventing hypertension.

The Effectiveness of Steroids and Antioxidants in the Management of Cisplatin-induced Ototoxicity: A Comprehensive Systematic Review of the Literature and Network Meta-Analysis

Abstract Background: Cisplatin efficacy in cancer therapy is hindered by dose-dependent toxicities, including ototoxicity. Its mechanisms involve cochlear damage and oxidative stress. Gender and age affect susceptibility, with limited treatment options for adults. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of steroids compared to antioxidants (AOs) in preventing and managing cisplatin-induced ototoxicity. Materials and Methods: Data were collected from multiple sources including Medline, CENTRAL, PubMed, and Springer Nature Journals. Adults and pediatrics with the clinical diagnosis of cisplatin-induced ototoxicity, interventional studies (including single-arm studies) were included. Studies with a focus on chemotherapy agents other than cisplatin were excluded. Results: The study encompassed 10 randomized controlled trials spanning 2004–2023 across Canada, Israel, The Netherland, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Iran. It aimed to evaluate interventions for preventing cisplatin-induced ototoxicity, including intratympanic injections and oral dietary supplements. Based on the results of this systematic review, thiosulfate-hyaluronate gel showed a 1.3 dB reduction in hearing loss; dexamethasone injections had minimal efficacy; L-N-acetylcysteine (L-NAC) offered significant otoprotection with daily infusion; and transtympanic L-NAC showed no significant benefit. Salicylate usage yielded no decrease in hearing loss. AO dietary supplements showed no difference in results between groups. However, based on the network meta-analysis results, it appears that steroids perform best in reducing cisplatin-induced ototoxicity at higher frequencies (8000 Hz), followed by placebo and then AO. Conclusion: A further molecular and targeted therapy is needed to target the cyto/ototoxic activity and further prevent such deterioration in hearing and promote chemotherapy regime without ototoxic effects.

Impact of fever on the outcome non-anoxic acute brain injury patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis

BackgroundFever is a common condition in intensive care unit (ICU) patients, with an incidence between 30 and 50% in non-neurological ICU patients and up to 70–90% in neurological ICU patients. We aim to perform systematic review and meta-analysis of current literature to assess impact of fever on neurological outcomes and mortality of acute brain injury patients.MethodsWe searched PubMed/Medline, Scopus and Embase databases following the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement, and we included both retrospective and prospective observational studies, interventional studies, and randomized clinical trials that had data on body temperature and fever during ICU admission. The primary endpoints were neurological outcome and mortality at any time. Secondary outcomes included: early neurological deterioration, delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI, only for patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage), large infarct or hemorrhage size, hemorrhagic transformation (only for patients with ischemic stroke). This study was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42020155903).Results180 studies from 14692 records identified after the initial search were included in the final analysis, for a total of 460,825 patients. Fever was associated with an increased probability of unfavorable neurological outcome (pooled OR 2.37 [95% CI 2.08–2.71], I2:92%), death (pooled OR 1.31 [95% CI 1.28–1.34], I2:93%), neurological deterioration (pooled OR 1.10 [95% CI 1.05–1.15]), risk of DCI (pooled OR 1.96 [95% CI 1.73–2.22]), large infarct size (pooled OR 2.94 [95% CI 2.90–2.98]) and hemorrhagic transformation (pooled OR 1.63 [95% CI 1.34–1.97]) and large hemorrhagic volume (pooled OR 2.38 [95% CI 1.94–2.93]).ConclusionFever was associated with poor neurological outcomes and mortality in patients with acute brain injury. Whether normothermia should be targeted in the management of all neuro critically ill patients warrants specific research.

The Development of MSMEs in India: a Bibliometric Analysis

This paper aims to evaluate the structure and evolutionary trend of research on development in MSMEs in India using a bibliometric examination. An analysis of academic research from 2008 to 2022 was conducted using bibliometric methods, searching for the terms used in emergent technologies. The research is intended to assess the development of micro, small, and medium companies and understand how far this topic has been achieved. Several research methods were applied, including the network method, thematic maps, and coefficients of approaching or intellectual tools. The result of this work can be helpful for new scholars and current trends, based on the study trends to achieve sustainable development goals against poverty, micro MSMEs (Micro Small Medium Enterprises), and unemployment. The highlight of the report stresses on the key issues where researchers are giving more focus which includes innovation and supply chain strategies. The findings from the study serve to enhance our understanding about areas within the extant research literature where less is known, particularly when it comes to advances and barriers that impact Micro, small-and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The present study will imbibe researchers and the experts from industry to have a profound insight into intellectual domains surrounding certain technologies that can facilitate growth of MSMEs in India, as well provide above detailed unattended research scope. The research concerning MSMEs has undoubtedly provided many facts about the growth and development of these enterprises, applicable particularly in India. To describe the research and intellectual progress on the Manufacturing industry, a bibliometric approach was used in this study. A comprehensive literature review and meta-analysis were employed to get trustworthy results.

Abstract 4136600: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and the risk of Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and Vascular Dementia. A Systematic review and Meta-analysis of 25,03,538 women participants.

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are associated with maternal adverse cardiovascular outcomes. However, their association with maternal Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is not well established with limited and conflicting results to date. Objective: We sought to evaluate the association between HDP and risk of incidence of Dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of available literature that enrolled women with HDP and women without HDP groups. PubMed, Embase and ClinicalTrials.gov were systematically searched from inspection till May 2024 without any language restrictions. Adjusted hazard ratios (aHR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were pooled using a random-effect model. Results: A total of 8 studies with 2503538 patients (1,51,905 in women with HDP and 23,51,633 in the women without HDP group) were included. Pooled analysis shows that HDP women were having 37% higher risk of dementia (aHR, 1.37(95%CI: 1.27-1.46), P&lt;0.001, I2=0%) when compared with women without HDP. Further pooled analysis showed that women with HDP were having 28% higher risk of Alzheimer’s disease (aHR, 1.28(95%CI: 1.56), P&lt;0.001, I2=53.98%), and 2-fold higher risk of vascular dementia (aHR, 2.49(95%CI: 1.29-3.68), P&lt;0.001, I2=71.51%) when compared with women without HDP. Conclusion: Women with HDP were at higher risk of developing Dementia, and Alzheimer's disease in future.
