Artificial Intelligence Transformation of 2nd Semester Management Student's Course Work

This study aims to see if there is a change in the work of Nusa Putra students' coursework after a major update in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. In a digital era that has changed greatly after AI, this research focuses on examining whether after AI there are changes in critical thinking, problem analysis, and also student literacy in coursework. The method used in the research is qualitative by means of interviews. The population we studied was NUSA PUTRA UNIVERSITY students majoring in Management Semester 2 and the sample used was 6 NUSA PUTRA UNIVERSITY students majoring in Management Semester 2. The results showed that artificial intelligence or AI is very influential on the mindset of critical thinking and also the level of literacy of a student, but the changes brought by AI can have both good and bad effects on students. It is also supported by the answers given by the respondents that AI or artificial intelligence can have both good and bad effects depending on who uses it and how it is used. This study emphasizes the importance of education in the use of AI to ensure that students' critical thinking, literacy and problem-solving skills are not diminished. The results also show that a balanced use of AI is the key to maximizing the advances in technology today. Media Komik Digital Melalui Online Flipbook Guna Meningkatkan Penguasaan Literasi Sains Siswa Kelas V SD

Students’ science literacy has declined due to learning barriers in the form of student’s lack of enthusiasm to participate in the learning process. This is supported by the fact that students feel bored and less enthusiastic about learning due to the lack of innovation and variety of learning media in the classroom. This study aims to test the effectiveness of learning media development in restoring enthusiasm and measuring the increase in mastery of science literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a research and development (RnD) method with a quantitative descriptive approach. The development of learning media adapts the ADDIE development model, including (1) analyze phase, (2) design phase, (3) development phase, (4) implementation phase, and (5) evaluation phase. The research was conducted by testing the use of learning media in the form of digital comics in the classroom with students as respondents. The results showed differences in students' learning outcomes before and after using learning media. The results of students' pretest and posttest scores show that digital comic learning media through online flipbooks with science literacy content are feasible and effective in improving the mastery of science literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students.

Development of Student Worksheets Based on Engineering Design Process to Enhancing Student’s Scientific Literacy in Middle School Students

Scientific literacy is the ability to actively participate in discussions and understanding issues related to science and scientific ideas, serving as a form of participation as an informed citizen. The objective of this research is to examine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a student worksheets based on the engineering design process (EDP). The research type and design fall under research and development (R&D) and have been developed using the ADDIE research design through the steps of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Data collection included validation and student response questionnaires, implementation sheets, and scientific literacy tests to assess validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The validation questionnaire is used to measure validity, the student response questionnaire is used to determine student responses, the implementation sheet is used to assess the feasibility of the learning process, and the science literacy test is used to assess the improvement in students' scientific literacy. The validity analysis yielded a result of 90%, categorizing the EDP-based student worksheets as very valid. The practicality score of 86% demonstrates that the worksheets are highly practical for use in learning environments. Additionally, the effectiveness, measured through an N-gain value of 0.76, indicates a significant improvement in students’ scientific literacy. The student response questionnaire results, with an 84% score, reflect a very positive reception from students. These findings collectively confirm that the EDP-based student worksheets are valid, practical, and effective tools for enhancing scientific literacy among junior high school students. These results suggest that EDP-based worksheets can be a valuable tool for fostering scientific literacy among junior high school students, equipping them with the skills to engage in scientific discussions and make informed decisions as active citizens.

Pengaruh Pendapatan Orang Tua, Literasi Keuangan, dan Gaya Hidup Terhadap Pengelolaan Keuangan Pribadi Siswa SMKN 6 Surabaya

This study aims to analyze whether there is a simultaneous influence between parental income, financial literacy, and lifestyle on the personal financial management of students at Vocational High School 6 Surabaya, to analyze whether there is an influence between parental income on the personal financial management of students at SMKN 6 Surabaya, to analyze Is there an influence between financial literacy on the personal financial management of Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students, and to analyze whether there is an influence between lifestyle on the personal financial management of Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students. The respondents in this research were class X students majoring in financial and institutional accounting at Vocational High School 6 Surabaya, totaling 72 respondents. The sampling technique used in this research is saturated sampling. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and tests. The results of this study indicate that (1) Parental income, financial literacy, and lifestyle simultaneously influence the personal financial management of S Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students (2) Parental income significantly influences the personal financial management of Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students (3) Literacy finances have a significant influence on the personal financial management of Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students (4) Lifestyle has a significant influence on the personal financial management of Vocational High School 6 Surabaya students.

Peningkatan Kemampuan Literasi Numerasi Siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui Program Kampus Mengajar 7

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Kampus Mengajar 7 in improving literacy and numeracy of elementary school students at UPT SD Negeri 060809 Medan. The research method used was descriptive qualitative involving students, teachers and school officials. Data were collected through observations, interviews, as well as the AKM pre-test and post-test. Analysis was conducted by combining field observations and numerical data to illustrate the impact of the program on improving literacy and numeracy. Based on the AKM post-test, 137 students (76.12%) achieved the good category in literacy, while 143 students (79.45%) showed significant improvement in numeracy. The results show that the Kampus Mengajar 7 program plays a significant role in helping to improve the quality of basic education, particularly in students' literacy and numeracy skills.

These barriers may include inadequate access to technology, limited training and support, and a lack of educational resources designed to accommodate diverse learning needs. Consequently, many inclusive students are at risk of being left behind in an increasingly digitalized society. This conceptual paper draws on a comprehensive review of existing literature related to digital literacy, inclusive education, and educational technology. The method used is observing and analyzing already existing information about digital literacy for inclusive students. The researcher utilized databases such as Scopus, WoS, and Google Scholar and conducted brief interviews with six teachers. There is a clear need for tailored approaches considering individual learning styles, disabilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, teacher training and professional development programs must be enhanced to ensure educators are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support inclusive students in developing digital literacy. In conclusion, this paper underscores the importance of prioritizing digital literacy for inclusive students in Malaysia. Financial Literacy among the Students of Junagadh Agricultural University

Financial Literacy has become one of the top priorities for most of the world today as it is directly proportional to the economic growth of a country. This is alarming to know that the financial literacy rate in India is way behind other countries, so a study was carried out to measure the financial literacy of students of Junagadh Agricultural University during 2021-2023. The data was collected from 600 students, 300 from Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) each using a structured interview schedule. Financial Literacy Index and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used for the study purpose. The study revealed that, there is a low level of financial literacy especially in terms of financial knowledge among the students. Financial knowledge, behavior, and attitude have significant positive effects on the financial literacy of students hence it is suggested that to enhance the financial literacy of students, training should be imparted on financial attitude, financial behavior, and especially financial knowledge as low level is more prevalent in this area of financial literacy.

School librarians developing AI literacy for an AI-driven future: leveraging the AI Citizenship Framework with scope and sequence

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to introduce the artificial intelligence (AI) Citizenship Framework, a model that equips teachers and school library professionals with the tools to develop AI literacy and citizenship in students. As AI becomes increasingly prevalent, it is essential to prepare students for an AI-driven future. The framework aims to foster foundational knowledge of AI, critical thinking and ethical decision-making, empowering students to engage responsibly with AI technologies. By providing a structured approach to AI literacy, the framework helps educators integrate AI concepts into their lessons, ensuring students develop the skills needed to navigate and contribute to an AI-driven society. Design/methodology/approach This paper presents a theoretical framework, developed from the author’s experience as an information and digital literacy coach and teacher librarian across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The AI Citizenship Framework was created without following specific empirical methodologies, drawing instead on practical insights and educational needs observed in diverse contexts. It outlines a scope and sequence for integrating AI literacy into school curricula. The framework’s components build on existing pedagogical practices while emphasising critical, ethical and responsible AI engagement. By providing a structure for AI education, it serves as a practical resource for school librarians and educators. Findings While no empirical data was collected for this theoretical paper, the AI Citizenship Framework offers a structured approach for school librarians and educators to introduce and develop AI literacy. It has the potential to influence AI education by fostering critical and ethical awareness among students, empowering them to participate responsibly in an AI-driven world. The framework’s practical application can be expanded beyond school librarians to include classroom teachers, offering a comprehensive model adaptable to various educational settings. Its real-world implementation could enhance students’ readiness to engage with AI technologies, providing long-term benefits for both educational institutions and the broader society. Research limitations/implications One limitation of the AI Citizenship Framework is that it has not yet been empirically validated. Future research could focus on testing its practical effectiveness in real-world settings, offering insights that may inform refinements and adaptations to better support school librarians and educators in fostering AI literacy and AI citizenship. Practical implications The practical implication of the AI Citizenship Framework is its application in educational settings to equip students with AI literacy and responsible citizenship skills. School library professionals and teachers can use the framework to integrate AI concepts into curricula, fostering critical thinking, ethical understanding and informed decision-making about AI technologies. The framework provides ready-to-use curriculum plans, enabling educators to prepare students for an AI-driven world. Its adaptability also allows classroom teachers to lead AI literacy initiatives, making it a versatile tool for embedding AI education across subjects and promoting responsible use and engagement with AI technologies in real-world contexts. Originality/value The originality and value of the AI Citizenship Framework lie in its approach to integrate AI literacy into educational contexts, specifically tailored for teacher librarians and school librarians. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, it is the first framework that comprehensively addresses the need for AI literacy from an ethical, critical and societal perspective, while also promoting active participation and leadership in AI governance. The framework equips educators with practical tools and curriculum plans, fostering responsible AI use and engagement. Its adaptable structure ensures it can be implemented by classroom teachers as well, adding significant value to AI education across disciplines and age groups.

The article examines the prospects of digital transformation of the higher economic education system. The purpose of the study is to monitor the digital literacy of economic university students in the context of the integration of digital technologies into the modern economy. The authors pointed out the need to increase the understanding of the features of the economy of free earnings (gig economy) from the perspective of the career prospects of future economists. In the course of the study, an online survey of students of the economics faculties of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and Omsk State Technical University was conducted. It was aimed at studying the change in the level of digital literacy of students of 1-4 courses in the light of new trends in the labor market. There were 241 respondents. The obtained theoretical and empirical evidence highlighted the need to introduce new educational resources and technologies into the higher education process in accordance with the complex requirements of the labor market and society.

Embrace, Don’t Avoid: Reimagining Higher Education with Generative Artificial Intelligence

This paper explores the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to transform higher education. Generative AI is a technology that can create new content, like text, images, and code, by learning patterns from existing data. As generative AI tools become more popular, there is growing interest in how AI can improve teaching, learning, and research. Higher education faces many challenges, such as meeting diverse learning needs and preparing students for fast-changing careers. Generative AI offers solutions by personalizing learning experiences, making education more engaging, and supporting skill development through adaptive content. It can also help researchers by automating tasks like data analysis and hypothesis generation, making research faster and more efficient. Moreover, generative AI can streamline administrative tasks, improving efficiency across institutions. However, using AI also raises concerns about privacy, bias, academic integrity, and equal access. To address these issues, institutions must establish clear ethical guidelines, ensure data security, and promote fairness in AI use. Training for faculty and AI literacy for students are essential to maximize benefits while minimizing risks. The paper suggests a strategic framework for integrating AI in higher education, focusing on infrastructure, ethical practices, and continuous learning. By adopting AI responsibly, higher education can become more inclusive, engaging, and practical, preparing students for the demands of a technology-driven world.

The Impact of Student Club Development on the Scientific Literacy of Vocational College Students

This paper explores the impact of student club development on the scientific literacy of vocational college students. As society increasingly values innovation and scientific literacy, vocational colleges bear a significant responsibility in cultivating students’ overall quality. Taking the Modeling and Simulation student club as a case study, the research team conducted a 12-week study. The results indicate that various club activities aimed at enhancing scientific literacy have positively influenced the development of students’ scientific competencies. Students’ practical skills and innovative thinking have been effectively improved. Our research demonstrates the positive role of student clubs in enhancing the scientific literacy of vocational college students, providing valuable experience and references for the development of similar clubs in the future.

A survey on improving core literacy among impoverished students in Chinese pharmaceutical universities under a development-oriented funding system

BackgroundImpoverished students constitute a group that cannot be overlooked in higher education. It is crucial for pharmaceutical universities worldwide to implement financial assistance programs that promote the development and success of students from poor families. Chinese universities have carried out active exploration of subsidized education, and made important achievements, but there are also problems, which are worth learning from. This study proposed a strategy to improve the core literacy of impoverished pharmaceutical students under the development-oriented funding system.MethodsThe study centers on clinical pharmacy students from a pharmaceutical college as the research subjects. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods approach was employed, with quantitative data collected through a survey questionnaire, supplemented by qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews. Data gathered from these two levels were integrated and subjected to statistical analysis.ResultsThe quantitative survey yielded a total of 397 valid samples, most of whom were females (73.8%), mainly at undergraduate level (89.67%), and from non-urban area (73.81%). Five of them participated in further qualitative interviews. The combined data identified: (a) financial aid—most students were highly satisfied with the financial support; (b) psychological support—most of the students interviewed reported that the scholarship significantly improved their self-confidence and motivation; (c) academic guidance—funded students had clear expectations for career development and academic guidance, demonstrating a strong need for further professional study; and (d) employment assistance—most students wanted career guidance and career planning support.ConclusionsThe financial assistance in pharmaceutical colleges and universities should be enriched to resolve the worries of impoverished clinical pharmacy students through economic assistance, improve the moral cultivation with psychological assistance, strengthen their cultural and scientific literacy, and improve their knowledge and practical ability through academic assistance. Through the integration of pharmacy education, the vocational competence of clinical pharmacy students can be improved by employment assistance, and the reform of higher pharmacy education can be further promoted to improve the training quality of pharmaceutical talents.

Student participation in data-informed decision making: from passive data sources to active data users

Purpose Specific forms of data use in schools, particularly those that involve students in interpreting and utilizing the data about themselves, are gaining recognition. This exploratory qualitative study focused on students’ involvement in the use of data coming from a national survey.Design/methodology/approach In three best-practice schools, six focus groups were conducted with educators and students (N = 16) to find out how students were involved in the use of data, and what the perceived benefits were.Findings The results indicated that student participation ranged from involving students from specific groups (e.g. the student council) to taking a whole-classroom approach. The results also pointed to two missed opportunities: (1) students were not involved in goal setting, which may influence ownership and (2) students were mostly not involved in analyzing the data, thereby foregoing the chance to develop data literacy in students. Finally, the results confirm the importance of the dialogic use of data together with students to increase student participation, motivation, well-being and achievement.Originality/value Although data use in schools has been studied extensively, including students as a participant in this process has received little attention so far. This study sheds new light on how to include students in the use of data, and its possible benefits.

Development of a Mobile Pocket Book with a Problem-Based Learning Model to Improve Students Physics Literacy

Physics learning, especially on heat, often faces various obstacles, such as low student literacy and limited interactive learning media. Mobile pocketbooks come as one of the solutions to overcome these problems. This application-based digital learning media is designed to provide easy access to students ' learning materials through mobile devices. The mobile pocketbook is an application-based digital learning media designed to facilitate students' flexible access to learning materials through mobile devices. Using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in the mobile pocketbook supports Active Learning, where students solve real problems to improve concept understanding and science literacy. This research aims to develop and test the validity and practicality of the product in the form of a mobile pocketbook as a medium to support physics learning, especially on heat material. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). However, due to time and cost constraints, this research did not reach the dissemination stage. Product validity was evaluated through assessments from experts and practitioners. The results of the expert assessment showed a validity level of 92.50%, while the practitioner gave a validity value of 96.25%, which indicated that the product was very valid. In addition, the product practicality test was evaluated through a questionnaire given to students and teachers. The questionnaire’s results show that this media is very practical, with a practicality value from the students' response of 90.76% and the teacher reaching 96.47%. Thus, the mobile pocketbook was designed using a problem-based learning model to improve students' physics science literacy. The results showed that this media is valid and practical for enhancing students' understanding of physics material, especially the concept of heat, as evidenced by the average practicality value of 93.61%. Therefore, this mobile pocketbook is expected to be one of the learning media innovations that can improve the quality of physics learning in schools.

The Effectiveness of Ethnoscience-Based Electronic Student Worksheet to Improve Critical Thinking and Scientific Literacy in Middle School Students

Critical thinking and scientific literacy must be cultivated and mastered by students in science learning in the 21st century. This research aims to determine the validity, feasibility, and effectiveness of increasing critical thinking and scientific literacy skills on ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheets developed focusing on additive material. The development of this ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheet followed the ADDIE model using mixed methods. Data collection methods included interviews, distribution of teacher and student questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The validity of ethnoscience-based electronic worksheets obtained a material validity value of 0.98 and a media validity value of 0.97, both of which met the valid and appropriate criteria. Ethnoscience-based electronic worksheets have been proven to be effective in increasing critical thinking competence with an N-Gain score of 0.86 and also effective in increasing scientific literacy competence with an N-Gain score of 0.87, both of which meet the high criteria. In summary, research on the development of an ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheet has been deemed to have a very high level of feasibility and validity and is highly effective in improving the critical thinking and scientific literacy of junior high school students.

Discovery Learning-Based Worksheets as a Tool for Enhancing Science Process Skills and Environmental Literacy in Middle School Students

The aim of this study is to develop Discovery Learning-based Learner Worksheets (LKPD) using the ADDIE model with the objective of enhancing the science process skills and environmental literacy of secondary school students. This research employs a one-group pretest-posttest design within the context of a research and development (R&D) project conducted in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Bungku, comprising 29 students, of whom 13 are male and 16 are female. The research instruments included validation sheets, Discovery Learning-based learner worksheets, observation sheets for science process skills, environmental literacy tests, and questionnaires for teachers and students regarding their responses to the product. The results demonstrated the validity of this development, with a score of 88%, a figure that was additionally supported by the teacher response score, which fell within the "very practical" category. The product of this development has a positive effect on students' science process skills, with an N-gain of 0.60 in the moderate category, indicating a significant improvement. The effect size of 0.47 in the moderate category indicates that this improvement is very significant. Furthermore, the development results had a significant impact on students' environmental literacy, with an N-gain of 0.35 in the medium category. The effect size of environmental literacy was 0.47 in the medium category.

Social Media Influence on Senior High Students' Spending Behavior for a Financial Management Plan

Purpose: This paper focuses on the rising influence of social media on senior high school students' financial behaviour and uses the case study of a Manila student subjected to social expectations, attitude in spending, and perceived control. Social media is viewed as a new learning opportunity about finance, yet it tends to nurture consumerist tendencies associated with impulsive buying. Therefore, the research gap in the existing studies aims at detailing mechanisms by which social media impacts students' spending. Study design/methodology/approach: A descriptive-correlational design was used, with responses obtained from 308 senior high school students through structured questionnaires. This allowed for assessing the correlations between social media influence, students' financial attitudes, subjective norms, perceived control, and spending behaviour patterns. Findings: Key findings depict a good correlation between students' exposure to social media and their spending behaviour, which would articulate how digital platforms influence financial attitudes and decision-making. Integrating educational finance management into school curricula would support students in learning to think critically and responsibly about their finances. However, this cross-sectional study limits generalisation and calls for the agenda of longitudinal research in this area. Originality/value: This paper contributes to the existing literature based on particular mechanisms about the impact of social media on student spending behaviour, especially within the context of Manila. It indicates the practical value of infusing financial education into school programs, promoting media literacy and financial responsibility in students to foster independence and long-term fiscal awareness.

The Impact of Project Literacy Learning on Creative Thinking Skills and Student Writing Literacy

Creative thinking skills and writing literacy of students in Indonesia are still in the low category. It is necessary to apply an appropriate learning model. This study aims to determine the impact of project literacy learning (lipro) on creative thinking skills and literacy of students. Lipro learning is a learning model that integrates project-based learning with literacy. The subjects of the study were 58 prospective physics teacher students. Creative thinking skills were assessed through video story telling products, while writing literacy skills were assessed through real action articles created by students. The results showed that creative thinking skills increased from 73.09 to 85.78. Writing literacy skills increased from 71.5 to 84.33. Based on the results of the paired sample T test, it was shown that students' creative thinking skills and writing literacy before and after lipro learning increased significantly.

Measurement of Science Literacy Skills of Elementary School Teacher Education Students: Development and Validity Testing of Assessment Instruments

This study aims to develop and test the validity and reliability of a scientific literacy instrument for students of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program. The instrument was designed to measure three dimensions of scientific literacy: content knowledge, procedural knowledge, and epistemic knowledge, focusing on Earth and Space Science topics. A total of 18 questions were constructed based on indicators that assess the ability to explain scientific phenomena, evaluate scientific investigations, and interpret scientific data. The instrument was tested on 33 PGSD students at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and analyzed using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and reliability tests via SPSS software. The results indicated that most items were valid, with an S-CVI/Ave value of 0.981 and an S-CVI/UA value of 0.8333. However, one item was found invalid with an I-CVI score of 0.67. The reliability test showed that some questions had a good level of reliability, while others required revision due to low reliability. Additionally, analysis using the Item Response Theory (IRT) revealed that the questions varied in difficulty and discrimination, with most questions having positive discrimination values and a range of difficulty levels. Overall, the instrument was found to be valid and reliable for assessing the scientific literacy of PGSD students, although some questions need revision to improve consistency and accuracy.
