Design of artificial intelligence wireless data acquisition platform based on embedded operating system in this paper. Through this platform, data acquisition can be transmitted wirelessly and through USB interface, and centralized monitoring and management can be realized. Then, the concrete measures to realize the system are systematically discussed, especially the design of transmission system based on wireless system. Currently, Linux is developing steadily in the field of embedded development. Anyone interested in embedded Linux technology can download its kernel and application programs from the Internet for free, and start porting or development. Because the CPRS network supports the TCP/IP protocol, this makes wireless data transmission easier, and the relative price is much cheaper than SMS (short message). Therefore, integrating embedded Linux technology and GR smart network to realize wireless data collection and transmission has a very attractive prospect, and it will receive more and more attention.

Android Mobile Apps for Crop Based Insecticide and Fungicide Calculation

Mobile apps offer a possibility of scientific plant protection through ready availability of needed information to the target stakeholders. Insecticide and fungicide calculators (IFCs) of rice, cotton, pigeonpea, groundnut, tomato, soybean, chickpea, chillies, okra, cabbage, cauliflower, sugarcane, mustard, wheat, brinjal and potato have been developed as mobile apps and hosted under Google play store and their download facilitated by scan of QR codes. Developed for android phones using ‘SQLite’, Java Core, Eclipse and Linux technologies, apps provide instant guidance to select the right chemical at the right quantity (for procurement and field application) against target insect pests and diseases of specific crop. These apps are standalone once downloaded online and their architecture is simple to navigate. Features of ‘More info’ and ‘Feedback'inbuilt in IFCs help the users to know additional details and communicate with the developer. Apps are digital tools for integration with plant protection useful for researchers, extension functionaries, pesticide dealers and farmers.

Design and Implementation of Orchard Environment Monitoring System Based on WSN

In order to achieve the fine management of agriculture, this thesis has done some exploration for the low efficiency of traditional orchard management and less scientific monitoring of fruit trees growing environment. And an orchard monitoring system based on wireless sensor network (WSN) is researched and developed in this paper, combining sensor technology, ZigBee technology and embedded Linux technology. The design and implementation method of ZigBee nodes, embedded gateway and monitoring center are introduced in detail. These parameters can be adjusted by automatically by controlling the corresponding facilities in the orchard. Orchard site and other monitoring parameters are able to be expanded easily according to the specific need of the orchard environment monitoring. This system provides a good solution for the meticulous fruit planting and has some good reference for the intelligent monitoring and scientific management of orchard environment.

Design of Embedded Smart Home System Based on Internet of Things

This paper presents an Embedded Smart Home system solution using the Internet of things. The Smart Home system can be sectioned into four parts: wireless sensor network, embedded smart gateway, Server and Client. The major technical of the wireless sensor network is ZigBee. The wireless sensor network is developed based on the Z-Stack protocol stack and the wireless chip CC2530. Its main work is to sensor the environmental parameter of the house and the automation control of the electrical equipment in the house. It can also support the RFID access control and camera monitor. ARM microprocessor is the core of the Embedded Smart Home control system. It adopts the embedded Linux technology, the development platform is Qt. The gateway communicates with the wireless sensor network by the serial port. It communicates with Server by the TCP socket and transmits to each client, or communicates with the client by using the wireless communication module directly. It also provides the user interface for sensor data check and real time control equipment. The server plays a role of bridge. It is mainly responsible for the communication and big data processing between the client and the control center. Partial hardware electric diagram and software flowchart were provided. Field using indicates that this system is economical and flexible.

The Design of Vehicle-Carried Data Acquisition and Monitoring System for Large-Scale Railway Maintenance Equipment Based on Embedded Linux and 3G Technology

To meet the requirement of the data acquisition for the remote fault diagnose system of the large-scale railway maintenance equipment, this paper proposed a vehicle-carried data acquisition and monitoring system based on embedded Linux and 3G technology. In the proposed system, the hardware design for realizing the data acquisition function is based on CAN bus, and monitoring function is based on wireless sensor networks.

The TrueCrypt On-Disk Format--An Independent View

Full disk encryption (FDE) is a common way to prevent unauthorized use of data by encrypting the whole storage device. TrueCrypt (www.truecrypt.org) is one of the widest-known open source tools providing FDE. It’s available for multiple OSs including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, letting you share encrypted storage among these systems. Unfortunately, there are license problems and questions related to implementation security. An ongoing community-funded project aims to review license issues and perform a full security audit of source codes (see istruecryptauditedyet.com). We took a different approach. We implemented independent, fully TrueCrypt-compatible, volume handling for Linux, using open source and native Linux technologies. We then released the code under the common open source license. Our most important implementation goal was to disregard the original source code (we didn’t want to use it even for reference), to avoid either tainting our code with hidden problems or violating the original license. We wrote our TrueCrypt format-handling code from scratch using only the available documentation, inspired partly by tc-play (github.com/bwalex/tc-play), another independent open source implementation. The following format description is based on our implementation. Although we intended our implementation only for Linux, our comments apply for all supported architectures. We hope this article, which includes comments on older and problematic TrueCrypt encryption modes, provides interesting insight into the TrueCrypt data format history.

Bluetooth Transmission System Based on Embedded Linux

By analyzing the principles of blue tooth transmission, it turns out that the Four-Hierarchy Bluetooth Transmission System can be made by applying the embedded Linux technology. Comparison analysis showed that the data transmission between multiple Bluetooth devices is available through a system created upon the Bluez protocol and openobex protocol. Besides, this also proofed that a combination of Linux and Bluetooth can make it possible to create a fair stable data transmission system, which could be used as a reference for the application in other areas.

FPGA-based embedded Linux technology in fusion: The MAST microwave imaging system

A cutting-edge standalone data acquisition system has been developed using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). It has 16 ADC channels operating at 250 MSPS, at 14-bit resolution acquiring continuously at 8GB/s for 0.5s. The system uses the Virtex 6 FPGA running embedded Linux on the MicroBlazeTM soft processor. We propose the development of a standard FPGA architecture, based on a methodology which has enabled us to develop this system using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components. This architecture can easily be modified for a variety of applications, both high and low performance at a competitive cost in terms of hardware, engineering and development.

Based on the national public administrations' demand for meteorological early warning,a specialized meteorological early warning information display terminal is designed.With inte-grating SMS technology,GPRS wireless communication technology,speech synthesis technology,LED display technology,embedded Linux technology and Qt software designing technology,the system realizes receiving,displaying and broadcasting remote meteorological warning messages.The task requirement,hardware design,soft ideas and the LCD interface driver based on Linux are described in details.Experimental results show that the system displays images distinctly,communicates with the control center stably and meets the design requirement entirely.

Distributed MDSplus database performance with Linux clusters

The staff at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility, operated for the USDOE by General Atomics, are investigating the use of grid computing and Linux technology to improve performance in our core data management services. We are in the process of converting much of our functionality to cluster-based and grid-enabled software. One of the most important pieces is a new distributed version of the MDSplus scientific data management system that is presently used to support fusion research in over 30 countries worldwide. To improve data handling performance, the staff is investigating the use of Linux clusters for both data clients and servers. The new distributed capability will result in better load balancing between these clients and servers, and more efficient use of network resources resulting in improved support of the data analysis needs of the scientific staff.

Providing Linux 2.6 support for the zSeries platform

This paper describes the experiences of the Linux® on zSeries® team at the IBM Linux Technology Center in upgrading the support for the zSeries platform when migrating from Linux 2.4 to Linux 2.6. In particular, the team's contributions to supporting the new device model, the redesigned I/O system, and improved memory management are described as well as their collaboration with the Linux open-source community.
