In the previous study by Havens, "The Networks Merger and Serials Control," the implications of the Linked Sysem Project (LSP) for serials control and particularly serials cataloging were explored. Since the paper's publication, considerable progress has been made with the LSP, and substantial changes have occurred with the participants which could have a vast impact on the project's continued development. As a follow-up article to the previous paper, this article will explore the applications of the LSP which are currently operative (name authorities) and which are projected (widespread bibliographic record exchange and, for the more distant future, full-text document exchange) and their relationship to the cataloging of serials.
