Composition of linear canonical Hankel pseudo-differential operators

In this paper, the study of linear canonical Hankel pseudo-differential operators has been extended to Sobolev-type spaces. Two versions of pseudo-differential operators involving linear canonical Hankel transformation are defined. We have shown that the pseudo-differential operators and composition of pseudo-differential operators are bounded in certain Sobolev-type spaces associated with linear canonical Hankel transformations.

On the two-dimensional time-dependent anisotropic harmonic oscillator in a magnetic field

A charged harmonic oscillator in a magnetic field, Landau problems, and an oscillator in a noncommutative space share the same mathematical structure in their Hamiltonians. We have considered a two-dimensional anisotropic harmonic oscillator with arbitrarily time-dependent parameters (effective mass and frequencies), placed in an arbitrarily time-dependent magnetic field. A class of quadratic invariant operators (in the sense of Lewis and Riesenfeld) have been constructed. The invariant operators (Î) have been reduced to a simplified representative form by a linear canonical transformation [the group Sp(4,R)]. An orthonormal basis of the Hilbert space consisting of the eigenvectors of Î is obtained. In order to obtain the solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation corresponding to the system, both the geometric and dynamical phase-factors are constructed. A generalized Peres–Horodecki separability criterion (Simon’s criterion) for the ground state corresponding to our system has been demonstrated.

Stability estimates for phase retrieval from discrete linear canonical Gabor transformation measurements

Phase retrieval gives the problem of recovering some signal from phaseless measurements. This paper mainly studies the stability estimation of phase recovery from the measurement of discrete linear canonical Gabor transformation (DLCGT). We first show that we can recover the signal on the connected components of in global phase sense. Then, we give the stability estimates results from the DLCGT measurements and the autocorrelation relation.

Invariant quadratic operators associated with linear canonical transformations and their eigenstates

The main purpose of this work is to identify invariant quadratic operators associated with Linear Canonical Transformations (LCTs) which could play important roles in physics. In quantum physics, LCTs are the linear transformations which keep invariant the Canonical Commutation Relations (CCRs). In this work, LCTs corresponding to a general pseudo-Euclidian space are considered and related to a phase space representation of quantum theory. Explicit calculations are firstly performed for the monodimensional case to identify the corresponding LCT-invariant quadratic operators then multidimensional generalizations of the obtained results are deduced. The eigenstates of these operators are also identified. A first kind of LCT-invariant operator is a second order polynomial of the coordinates and momenta operators. The coefficients of this polynomial depend on the mean values and the statistical variances-covariances of the coordinates and momenta operators themselves. It is shown that these statistical variances-covariances can be related with thermodynamic variables. In this context, new quantum corrections to the ideal gas state equation are deduced from correction to the Hamiltonian operator of non-relativistic free quantum particles that is suggested by LCT-covariance. Two other LCT-invariant quadratic operators, which can be considered as the number operators of some quasiparticles, are also identified: the first one is a number operator of bosonic type quasiparticles and the second one corresponds to fermionic type. This fermionic LCT-invariant quadratic operator is directly related to a spin representation of LCTs. It is shown explicitly, in the case of a relativistic pentadimensional theory, that the eigenstates of this operator can be considered as basic quantum states of elementary fermions. A classification of the fundamental fermions, compatible with the Standard Model of particle physics, is established from a classification of these states.

Forward Scatter Radar Meets Satellite: Passive Sensing of Aerial Target Using Satellite Communication Waveforms

The problem of single-channel reception of global positioning system (GPS) communication waveforms makes passive sensing of aerial target difficult because of forward scatter. This paper proposes a novel aerial target passive sensing method based on linear canonical transformation (LCT) using the forward scattered satellite communication waveforms. The proposed method firstly preprocesses the received signal based on the characteristics of the traditional satellite tracking loop and the forward scattered satellite communication waveforms to effectively suppress the interference of the direct wave through DC removal. Then, the Gaussian noise and multipath interference in the channel are suppressed by applying a rectangular window to its linear canonical domain. Finally, aerial target sensing is performed based on the peak value of signals in the linear canonical transform domain. The characteristic signal is constructed by analyzing the satellite communication waveforms. Combining the linear canonical transform with the matched filter (MF) to estimate the target parameter. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively perform the aerial target sensing by using satellite communication waveforms in the forward scatter scenario.

From Translation to Linear and Linear Canonical Transformations

In order to obtain with simplicity the known and new properties of linear canonical transformations (LCTs), we show that any relation between a couple of operators (A,B) having commutator identical to unity, called dual couple in this work, is valuable for any other dual couple, so that from the known translation operator exp(a∂x) one may obtain the explicit form and properties of a category of linear and linear canonical transformations in 2N-phase spaces. Moreover, other forms of LCTs are also obtained in this work as so as the transforms by them of functions by integrations as so as by derivations. In this way, different kinds of LCTs such as Fast Fourier, Fourier, Laplace, Xin Ma and Rhodes, Baker-Campbell-Haussdorf, Bargman transforms are found again.

An index formula for groups of isometric linear canonical transformations

We define a representation of the unitary group $U(n)$ by metaplectic operators acting on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and consider the operator algebra generated by the operators of the representation and pseudodifferential operators of Shubin class. Under suitable conditions, we prove the Fredholm property for elements in this algebra and obtain an index formula.

Research Progress on Discretization of Linear Canonical Transform

Linear canonical transformation (LCT) is a generalization of the Fourier transform and fractional Fourier transform. The recent research has shown that the LCT is widely used in signal processing and applied mathematics, and the discretization of the LCT becomes vital for the applications of LCT. Based on the development of discretization LCT, a review of important research progress and current situation is presented, which can help researchers to further understand the discretization of LCT and can promote its engineering application. Meanwhile, the connection among different discretization algorithms and the future research are given.

Sterile neutrinos existence suggested from LCT covariance

Sterile neutrinos are known to be hypothetical neutrinos which do not interact via the fundamental interactions described within the Standard Model of Particles Physics i.e. electroweak and strong interactions. They are expected to be important for the understanding of the physics beyond the current Standard Model. In the present work, it is shown that the existence of these particles can be suggested from covariance principle using a covariance group formed by Linear Canonical Transformations (LCTs) associated to a pentadimensional pseudo-Euclidian space. It is established that a spin representation of the LCT group gives a particle classification, applicable to the three families of leptons and quarks, which leads to the prediction of the existence of three sterile neutrinos and their antiparticles.

The linear canonical Hankel type transformations associated with translation and convolution

This paper is the study of Hankel type translation and Hankel type convolution for linear canonical Hankel type transformations. In this paper, I have studied some inequalities associated with Hankel type translation and Hankel type convolution. Also, I have studied some applications of linear canonical Hankel transformation to a canonical convolution integral equation and a generalized nonlinear parabolic equation.

Free-mode removal and mode decoupling for simulating general superconducting quantum circuits

Superconducting quantum circuits is one of the leading candidates for a universal quantum computer. Designing novel qubit and multiqubit superconducting circuits requires the ability to simulate and analyze the properties of a general circuit. In particular, going outside the transmon approach, we cannot make assumptions on anharmonicity, thus precluding blackbox quantization approaches and necessitating the formal circuit quantization approach. We consider and solve two issues involved in simulating general superconducting circuits. One of the issues is the handling of free modes in the circuit, that is, circuit modes with no potential term in the Hamiltonian. Another issue is circuit size, namely the challenge of simulating strongly coupled multimode circuits. The main mathematical tool we use to address these issues is the linear canonical transformation in the setting of quantum mechanics. We address the first issue by giving a provably correct algorithm for removing free modes by performing a linear canonical transformation to completely decouple the free modes from other circuit modes. We address the second by giving a series of different linear canonical transformations to reduce intermode couplings, thereby reducing the problem to the weakly coupled case and greatly mitigating the overhead for classical simulation. We benchmark our decoupling methods by applying them to the circuit of two inductively coupled fluxonium qubits, obtaining several orders of magnitude reduction in the size of the Hilbert space that needs to be simulated.

Linear Canonical Transformations in relativistic quantum physics

Linear Canonical Transformations (LCTs) are known in signal processing and optics as the generalization of certain useful integral transforms. In quantum theory, they can be identified as the linear transformations which keep invariant the canonical commutation relations characterizing the coordinates and momenta operators. In this work, the possibility of considering LCTs to be the elements of a symmetry group for relativistic quantum physics is studied using the principle of covariance. It is established that Lorentz transformations and multidimensional Fourier transforms are particular cases of LCTs and some of the main symmetry groups currently considered in relativistic theories can be obtained from the contractions of LCTs groups. It is also shown that a link can be established between a spinorial representation of LCTs and some properties of elementary fermions. This link leads to a classification which suggests the existence of sterile neutrinos and the possibility of describing a generation of fermions with a single field. Some possible applications of the obtained results are discussed. These results may, in particular, help in the establishment of a unified theory of fundamental interactions. Intuitively, LCTs correspond to linear combinations of energy-momentum and spacetime compatible with the principle of covariance.

Pseudodifferential operators involving linear canonical Hankel transformations on some ultradifferentiable function spaces

In this work, continuity of linear canonical Hankel transformation on the ultradifferentiable function spaces are discussed. Furthermore, the pseudodifferential operator associated with linear canonical Hankel transformation is shown to be the continuous linear mapping from one ultradifferentiable function space to another. An application to a Dirichlet problem is discussed.

The N-Dimensional Uncertainty Principle for the Free Metaplectic Transformation

The free metaplectic transformation is an N-dimensional linear canonical transformation. This transformation operator is useful, especially for signal processing applications. In this paper, in order to characterize simultaneously local analysis of a function (or signal) and its free metaplectic transformation, we extend some different uncertainty principles (UP) from quantum mechanics including Classical Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, Nazarov’s UP, Donoho and Stark’s UP, Hardy’s UP, Beurling’s UP, Logarithmic UP, and Entropic UP, which have already been well studied in the Fourier transform domain.

Dynamics of quantum entanglement in matter field models

A review of the linear canonical transformations and its unitary representation is presented and its importance in the mathematical generation of a special two photon coherent state of light is demonstrated. The dynamical behaviour of the entanglement of the matter and field sectors of an initial composite system under the action of two effective model Hamiltonians is shown. The quantumness and delocalization properties of the corresponding electromagnetic field sectors are established. Finally for the two-photon process interacting with a two-level system, the violation of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality is exhibited.

Linear canonical transform as a tool to analyze coherence properties of electromagnetic beams propagating in a quadratic phase system.

Linear canonical transformation (LCT) provides a generalized and elegant mathematical framework for analyzing the coherence properties of an electromagnetic (EM) beam propagating in quadratic phase systems (QPSs). It is shown that LCT may be used to analyze coherence properties such as generalized Stokes parameters and EM degree of coherence of a partially coherent EM beam propagating through a QPS. We present simulation results of a Gaussian Schell model beam propagating through a Fourier system, fractional Fourier system, and 4f imaging system with an aperture and beam relay system.

Canonical transformations and squeezing formalism in cosmology

Canonical transformations are ubiquitous in Hamiltonian mechanics, since they not only describe the fundamental invariance of the theory under phase-space reparameterisations, but also generate the dynamics of the system. In the first part of this work we study the symplectic structure associated with linear canonical transformations. After reviewing salient mathematical properties of the symplectic group in a pedagogical way, we introduce the squeezing formalism, and show how any linear dynamics can be cast in terms of an invariant representation. In the second part, we apply these results to the case of cosmological perturbations, and focus on scalar field fluctuations during inflation. We show that different canonical variables select out different vacuum states, and that this leaves an ambiguity in observational predictions if initial conditions are set at a finite time in the past. We also discuss how the effectiveness of the quantum-to-classical transition of cosmological perturbations depends on the set of canonical variables used to describe them.

Properties of Elementary Fermions of the Standard Model Deduced from Linear Canonical Transformations Representation

This paper is a continuation of our works concerning Linear Canonical Transformations (LCT) and Phase Space Representation of Quantum Theory. The purpose is to study the spinorial representation of some particular LCT called Isodispersion LCT (ILCT) and to deduce a relation between them and some properties of the elementary fermions of the Standard Model of Particle Physics. After giving the definition of ILCT for the case of a general pseudo-Euclidean space and constructing their spinorial representation, we consider the particular case of a pentadimensional space with signature (1, 4). We then deduce a classification of quarks, leptons and their antiparticles according to the values of electric charge, weak hypercharge, weak isospin and colors after the introduction of appropriate operators defined from the generators of the Clifford Algebra corresponding to the ILCT spinorial representation. It is established that the electric charge is composed of four terms, the weak hypercharge of five terms and the weak isospin of two terms. Existence of sterile neutrinos and the possibility of describing a fermions generation with a single field are suggested.

An efficient image privacy scheme based on nonlinear chaotic system and linear canonical transformation

Making information invulnerable is one of the most critical issues of today’s era where information is being sent from one source to another destination with expeditious rates. In this research article, linear canonical transform (LCT) along with Lorenz differential equation is subjected for the process of double image encryption for its inherent characteristics which implies the diffusion and confusion of current era. In the contemplated method standard color images; Lena and Pepper of size 256×256 are used. Image scrambling, LCT of first order and second order along with Lorenz system are adapted as the steps on encryption process. The reverse process of defined encryption scheme is endorsed for the reformation of the original plain images separately from the single encrypted image. For quality assessment of the encryption scheme; different security and statistical analysis are performed and histograms of all the images are analyzed. As a result, statistical assessments recommended that our contemplated scheme is legitimate for the security of digital images.

A Pair of Linear Canonical Hankel Transformations of Random Order

Present paper is devoted to study a pair of linear canonical Hankel transformations of random order and its inverse. Some interesting properties of these transformations are given. Finally, these transformations are used to obtain the solution of some partial differential equations involving Bessel type differential operators.
