This application is built with a user-friendly user interface, so that users i.e. library employees can use it easily. The purpose of developing this system is to improve the operational efficiency of the library and support SMP N 1 Pantai Labu in becoming a public school that focuses on information technology in the future. The methods in this research are field research (field research) and literature research (library research). The results show that the implementation of the library management information system in the SMP N 1 Pantai Labu Library will already be carried out but still has constraints on infrastructure and human resources.

Library management database design and application

MySQL is an open-source database management system which facilitates efficient data manipulation. Based on MySQL, this essay delves into the realm of library database design and application, addressing the need for streamlined systems. This research addresses the need for adaptation in the evolving technology landscape and offers practical insights for librarians and researchers aiming to optimize information management in modern libraries. Employing the basic steps for database design, we explore one methodology for designing a library management database based on the design of database requirement, modeling, backend implementation, efficiency optimization and testing using MySQL. Through this approach, the study provides a potential solution that meets the basic requirements of libraries and enhances information management practices.

<p>Excellent service through information service sources in the library is the main focus of activities in the library. Activities in the library are a benchmark for the success or decline of excellent service in the library. Library policy in developing services is one of the library's efforts to bring information sources closer to users. This study used a qualitative research method, namely field research. With the development of a library that has an information technology base, both from a library management information system and a digital library, it will provide convenience to users and convenience for librarians. Technology is able to solve the problems librarians face in their daily work. New ideas that librarians have to improve excellent service at the Potensi Utama University Library must continue to be developed. This study concludes that excellent service at the Potensi Utama University Library Medan is able to bring users closer to librarians in finding sources of information.<em></em></p>

Information management in school libraries: a systematic review of the literature

The study approaches information management focused on the context of school libraries through a systematic literature review carried out in the following databases: CAPES, EBSCO and SciELO journals, using the descriptors "information management" AND " school library. Thus, the general objective of this research proposes to carry out a systematic literature review on studies related to information management in school libraries. Therefore, we intend to discuss the concept of information management in the context of school libraries; carry out a mapping of articles that deal with the object of study; and analyze the works that approach the proposed theme. The searches resulted in 9 articles, from which the information considered relevant for analysis was extracted. The results point to the importance of information management in the context of school libraries so that knowledge and information can be managed in a planned, organized, interdisciplinary and intentional way.

RANCANG BANGUN SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN PERPUSTAKAAN MENGGUNAKAN QR CODE BERBASIS WEBSITE

The school library is one of the educational facilities supporting learning activities and has an important role in supporting the achievement of educational goals. At SMPN 1 Mandalawangi, the library plays a role in assisting students and teachers in obtaining subject matter references to support teaching and learning activities. In the library, activities such as visitor registration, book recording, book borrowing, returning transactions, and making reports at the library are still done manually, so it requires more time and effort, and mistakes often occur in finding the required data. The author designed a library management information system using a web-based QR Code to solve this problem so that activities can be carried out more quickly and easily. The Waterfall development method is used to build this web-based information system. The stages that are passed in this method are the Requirement, Design, Coding & Testing, Integration & Testing, and Operation and Maintenance stages. The information system is built using the JavaScript programming language, the ReactJS library, Cloud Firestore as the database, and UML as the system model. The final result of this design is to produce a library management information system using a web-based QR Code for the SMPN 1 Mandalawangi Library. It can be interpreted that the system that has been designed can facilitate library staff in the service process, data management, and making reports at the SMPN 1 Mandalawangi library.

This column describes the nature of library services and information management’s role in this 21st century and examines the role of academic librarians in Nigeria. The development brought about by technology has drastically improved and facilitated the dissemination of information to users and has mandated librarians to add new roles to their mode of service to move with the trend of time and be relevant to society. The role of academic librarians in this 21st century now involves advocates, pace-setters/image makers, knowledge resources management, information technology development, user services, human resource management, resource sharing, and networking. The column concludes that academic librarians in Nigeria are now compelled to create innovative library services that will make them relevant and fit into the information management roles. Hence the column recommends that librarians need to keep abreast with the trend of the digital era by always acquiring new skills that will enable them to function effectively and efficiently. Library management should make policies and provide opportunities that will enable academic librarians to always acquire new training that will enhance library services to meet with the trends of time. Librarians are to upgrade themselves with the managerial role.

Study on Library Management System Based on Data Mining and Clustering Algorithm

In order to improve the information retrieval and resource sharing abilities of the library and establish an intelligent library information management system, alibrary management system based on data mining and clustering algorithm is proposed. The system development is divided into two modules: library mining algorithm design and information management system software development. Big data fusion and feature clustering methods is used to design intelligent information retrieval algorithms in library information management to establish library management database. Realizing the development and design of library management system under embedded environment, and finally experimental test analysis is carried out. Results show that the use of the proposed method for library information management can improve the accuracy of book recommendation, which is 16.7% higher than traditional methods on average. It has good data mining, and has good performance indicators in data recall and precision. Therefore, this algorithm is not only a means of automated management of library systems, but also an effective means to realize library information modernization.

Cloud computing for information management and use in the 21st century library

Librarians are applying different platforms for user services and attaining exceeding satisfaction for information management and use in this Web based era. Cloud computing presents an advantage for libraries. It is providing several opportunities for libraries to link their services, use and manage information on the cloud. Cloud computing is the new type of service provided on the Internet, which has exclusively changed the way computers are used irrespective of geographical barriers to manage and use information. The paper examines cloud computing as a tool for information management and use in the 21st century library. The discourse is about the concept of cloud computing, models of cloud computing and the service, which include IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. The paper also discusses cloud. Concluding, the discourse opines that today libraries are shifting to cloud computing technology to process data correctly and quickly. Cloud based services are helping libraries by creating digital libraries, social networking and enhance information sharing. Though, problems regarding data security, privacy, reliability and legal rights have not been fully taken care of. All information personnel must be aware of these issues before choosing cloud based services. Despite these issues, cloud based technology is an incredible development that can improve data management and usage in libraries and offer dependable, rapid services to its users. The study recommends that base on the importance and relevance of cloud computing technology, that it should be applied in library services to manage and use information must especially university libraries in Nigeria.

IT Implementation Processes in Libraries: Adopting Foreign Experience

Objective. The purpose of the article is to study the problems of implementing IT technologies in university libraries of Ukraine in the context of foreign experience. The article examines the retrospective of development of library information systems, their effectiveness and problematic issues related to the transition of library staff to work with them. Methods. When writing the article, the review, comparative, and historical methods were used to summarize the research on the development of library information systems and to choose a sufficiently effective and convenient system among ILS (Integrated Library System), LSP (Library Service Platform), LMS (Library Management System) or LIMS (Library Information Management System) for domestic university libraries. Results. The article provides a periodization of the development of library systems from 1931 till 2022. Problematic issues for Ukrainian university libraries related to the replacement of software tools with modern software products are identified. Specialists of higher education libraries are suggested to use the web-resource “Library Technology Guides” to select the latest innovative automated library systems with their subsequent configuration. Conclusions. As a result, the ILS Koha is proposed as more adapted system in terms of financial costs and possibility of its further maintenance by existing specialists.

Analysis of book circulation data and a book recommendation system in academic libraries using data mining techniques

The use of data mining modern technology in library management systems and information centers is of great importance. With the increasing availability of a large quantity of information, traditional tools and practices without wasting time and cost cannot respond to users accurately and quickly. The present study aims to analyze book circulation transactions and discover the user's book loan patterns to develop a recommender system. The data included 109,639 transactions and information from 8636 user records. Microsoft SQL Server and Matlab software were applied to analyze the data. Item-based collaborative filtering algorithms and decision tree methods were also applied. The results led to the extraction of rules for suggesting books to users. Analysis of the circulation data could be applied to address many issues like evaluation, collection acquisition policies, allocating funding for materials, and suggesting approaches to deselecting and allocating physical space for materials.

Strengthening of the link between the EBDI and the graduates of the Library Science and Information Management career at the National University

The objective of this research is to strengthen the link between the Escuela de Bibliotecología, Documentación e Información (EBDI) de la Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica and the graduates of the career using different resources and strategies. This study had a quantitative approach and was descriptive; the data collection was done through a digital questionnaire applied to 189 graduates, of which 105 answered the instrument.
 As main results and conclusions of this research, it is possible to highlight the achievement and organization of the updated contact data of the graduates to facilitate the communication and linkage of both parties. Likewise the need for a continuous professional updating plan for these people that considers the topics of interest that were identified and the determination of a series of aspects that this School must take into account for the realization of strategic alliances in order to facilitate new initiatives that strengthen both academic training and the joint realization of projects according to the interests of both the graduates of the Career and the EBDI.

Digital Library Analysis and Design Using Iconix Process Method (Case Study: SMA Negeri 1 Ngimbang)

The application of information technology in various companies will improve employees’ performance so that the business results obtained by the company are of higher quality. The school library has a relatively significant influence on the learning process and expands students’ knowledge. However, in reality, many libraries still have not utilized information technology to manage their management, so some parties sometimes encounter obstacles that can hinder performance and efficiency. This study built a web-based library information system using the Iconix process method with the case study SMA Negeri 1 Ngimbang, Indonesia. The findings of this study will be able to be implemented, promoting the efficiency of data and library information management and boosting.

Automation identifier approach for library management information system

Rapid technological developments provide benefits for library management. One of them is the application of automatic identifiers in library management, through RFID and QR Code implementation. Some problems that are faced by libraries at the moment, include the lack of guarantees for the safety management of books in the library, lack of services human resources library management, and book availability information has not been accurate. This research conducts the development of a library management information system to solve the problems by using automatic identifiers utilizing Near Field Communication and QR Code technology. The implementation scenario is each library member has the NFC Card and their personal information stored in the NFC card, also each book in the library is put with a QR Code label containing book code information. Transaction of book loan and book return are done by initially tapping NFC Card to record visitor returned or borrow the book and then continue to scanning QR Code label of each book borrowed or returned. In the final stage, the application tested by tapping the NFC card (RFID) on the reader/writer device, and it found the NFC Card could be read or record data from the device at a maximum of 7 cm, while testing phase conducted QR Code label could be read at a maximum distance of 40 centimeters from the device. Implementing automatic identifier help to manage transaction in library more accurate, improve services and provide added value for the library.

Comparing ICT components in MLISc. curriculum of TU with SAARC Universities

The study, entitled "Comparing ICT components in MLISc. curriculum of TU with SAARC Universities," has an objective to identify the differences and similarities of MLISc., TU courses in entailing ICT contents. To obtain this objective, this study compares the ICT content of the MLISc. curriculum of TU with five universities from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, one from each country. Those universities were selected with reference to the higher rank recommended by website Unirank 2021. The sources of data were interpreted categorically based on syllabus content. As the result, the comparison clarified that the MLISc. curriculum of TU has incorporated similar standards of those selected universities, where fundamentals of ICT, data communication and networking, programming language, library management software, web designing, multimedia, and information retrieval courses are incorporated. In MLISc., TU courses, the content related to library management software are relatively less. However, to address the gap, Central Department of Library and Information Science, (CDLIS) TU has included a practical class on Koha, LIS from 2019. More up-to-date, comprehensive package of library automation and digitization services, from operations to system design, is the most demanding from LIS graduates, practical-based courses incorporated into LIS education would be preferable for increasing the effectiveness of ICT in LIS management.

Scientific publication must be accountable for its sources, processes and results. This research is based on allegations of diversity citations used in research. These assumptions are influenced by research topics, knowledge development, technology, shifting of the library paradigm, librarian and student competencies. The purpose of this research is to mapping developments literature on thesis Library Information Management (MIP) students. The results of the study can be used as a reference consideration (secondary data) for further research. The research method uses bibliometric citation analysis. Citations are grouped with the help of co-classification mapping theory and will be elaborated descriptively based on predetermined indicators. The total data examined is 63 theses consisting of 2709 literatures. The Indicators used to analyze include the language of literature, the type of literature, the subject of literature, the list of authors along with the title of the essay and the list of publishers. The Citation analysis results include: (1). Analysis of the language of literature is to find out the variety of languages, it can be seen from the increasing use of foreign-language literature. (2). Analysis of the type of literature is to answer the development of literature. (3). Analysis of the subject used to mapping knowledge, the subject is influenced by the research perspective. (4). The essence of the results of the citation analysis using these indicators reveals that the citations in the Information Management and Library thesis of the 2007/2008-2012 / 2013 class vary. The mapping of the literature shows that annually experiencing development, change, and dynamic due to the main factor of technology and student ability.

THE ANALYSIS OF PERFORMANCE, INFORMATION, ECONOMY, CONTROL, EFFICIENCY, AND SERVICE (PIECES) IN-LIBRARY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS POSTGRADUATE UIN ALAUDDIN MAKASSAR

This article elaborates the PIECES analysis of the management information system evaluated in terms of performance, information, control, efficiency, and services resulting from the applied library management information system. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research is a phenomenological approach where the purpose of this approach is to study in-depth the state of the postgraduate library at UIN Alauddin Makassar. The results of this research show the description of the library management information system applied by the postgraduate library of UIN Alauddin Makassar, where the software used has been integrated into the core activities of the library, namely the management of library materials, circulation services, search engine services, membership services, and reporting on library activities. The use of Slims 7 Candana software has met the needs of library management. However, the control section for reporting the number of visitors Postgraduate Library of UIN Alauddin Makassar does not apply visitor attendance at the library either manually or automatically by the management information system (visitor counter service). This section has no data input process, so the output process for reporting visitors neither exists.

Web-based Library Information System at SMK PGRI Sukodadi Lamongan

The purpose of school library as a place to read is now less and less desirable by students to read books and search for scientific literature, this is because it is defeated by information media such as the internet which is easier to use in searching for various kinds of knowledge and reading sources. The impact of the information media is also experienced by the SMK PGRI Sukodadi Library which has a large collection of books that should be used by students to support learning activities but students are less interested in reading and borrowing books from the library in addition to having certain assignments from the teacher that require students to borrow books. from the library. Seeing the problems above, a website-based library information system design is made and the development of a library management information system at SMK PGRI Sukodadi Lamongan.
