The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of student character in the form of intelligence level, creativity level, and achievement motivation on academic achievement. The research subjects were 32 Tadris IPS students, Tarbiyah Faculty, IAI Al-Fatimah Bojonegoro class of 2023. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression analysis. The research results found that simultaneously and partially the variables of intelligence level, achievement motivation, and creativity level had a significant effect on academic achievement of Tadris IPS IAI AL-Fatimah Bojonegoro students

Does poverty really stifle ambition? A latent profile analysis of achievement motivation for economically disadvantaged Chinese university students

This research aims to investigate the differences in achievement motivation between college students from low-income and normal-income backgrounds, and to explore the key characteristics of achievement motivation among underprivileged college students. A survey was conducted with 260060 college students, and Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was employed to identify the types of achievement motivation among underprivileged college students. Results showed that: (1) achievement motivation levels were significantly higher among underprivileged students compared to their non-poor counterparts. Specifically, in China, underprivileged students were significantly more driven to strive for success and less inclined to avoid failure; (2) the study identified four types of achievement motivation among disadvantaged students: Optimists (high pursuit of success, low failure avoidance, accounting for 7.90 %); Self-protectors (low pursuit of success, high failure avoidance, accounting for 29.40 %); Failure Acceptors (low pursuit of success, low failure avoidance, accounting for 39.30 %); and Overstrivers (high pursuit of success, high failure avoidance, accounting for 23.40 % of the sample). Conclusion: (1) poor students are more eager to succeed than non-poor students in China; (2) Optimists and Overstrivers seem the more positive types of achievement motivation (accounting for 31.30 %).

The effect of role play prepared with video support on ethical decision-making and motivation levels of nursing students: A quasi-experimental study.

Background: Since the increasingly complex structure of health care services brings many ethical problems, it is important to use different instructional technologies in the ethical education of future nurses.Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of role play prepared with video support on ethical decision-making and motivation levels of nursing students.Research design: A quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest design.Participants and research context: The research was conducted in the Nursing Department of a University located in Istanbul, Turkey between October 15 and November 15, 2024. The sample of the research consisted of 3rd year nursing students. Data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, the Nursing Dilemma Test, and the Instructional Material Motivation Scale for Single-Use.Ethical considerations: Permission was obtained from Bezmialem Vakif University Non-Interventional Ethical Research Committee and the institution where the study was conducted for the implementation of the research. Written and verbal consent was obtained from all participants in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration.Findings: While there was no difference between the students' Ethical Dilemma Test Principled Thinking pre-test and post-test scores, their Practical Consideration (p = .005) and motivation levels (p = .037) post-test scores were found to be higher. There was a weak but significant negative correlation between academic achievement and pre-test teaching material motivation levels (r = -0.375, p = .041).Discussion: The use of different teaching methods and techniques in ethics education in nursing is important for future nurses to find more practical solutions to the ethical problems they will encounter during patient care.Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that the use of video-supported role play can be effective in teaching ethics courses in nursing education.

Mindfulness and its Relationship to Achievement Motivation of University Students

The study aimed to identify the level of mindfulness and achievement motivation and the relationship between Mindfulness and achievement motivation among university students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive correlational approach was used, as the study sample consisted of (350) male and female students from Hashemite University students from the College of Educational Sciences and registered in the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, where the study tools were applied electronically. The study used the Mindfulness scale consisting of (4) dimensions (observation, description, acting consciously, judging internal experience), and the achievement motivation scale consisting of five dimensions was also used: (sense of responsibility, striving for excellence, perseverance, feeling the importance of time, and planning for the future). The results showed that the level of Mindfulness was at an average level, with an average of (3.50) and a standard deviation of (0.628). In contrast, the level of achievement motivation was high, with an average of (3.81) and a deviation of (0.452). The results also showed the existence of a statistically significant correlation between the dimensions of Mindfulness and achievement motivation among university students.

Mental Fitness and its Relationship to Achievement for Professional Players in the Palestinian Soccer League

The current study aimed to know the mental fitness and its relationship to achievement among the players of the professional soccer league in Palestine, and to achieve the objectives of the study the descriptive analytical approach was used. the researchers designed a questionnaire based on previous studies. It was distributed to stratified random sample consisted of (121) male soccer players from professional clubs, and the study sample was chosen in a stratified random manner, due to its suitability to the nature of the current study. SPSS program was used to analyze the results of the respondents’ responses, and the study concluded that there is a high mental fitness in all its fields (the ability to imagine, mental preparation, self-confidence, dealing with anxiety, the ability to focus, motivation, focus and decision-making and the total score),among professional players and similar regardless of the player's position on the field, the study also showed that the players of the clubs that occupied the top ranks have ahigher level of mental fitness. The researchers suggested the necessary of taking care of mental skills and trying to develop them to raise the level of achievement motivation for soccer players, and the need to pay attention to training mental perception of players, and conduct research on the relationship of mental perception with other soccer skills.

Sense of Coherence, Self-Efficacy and Locus of Control as Predictors of the Level of Achievement Motivation of People with Dyslexia During Adolescence

The purpose of the article is to learn about and analyse personal resources such as self-efficacy, sense of locus of control, sense of coherence in students with dyslexia in adolescence and their achievement motivation. Four tools were used: KBPK-R Questionnaire for the Study of Sense of Control – revised version, KompOs – Personal Competence Scale SOC-13M Life Orientation Questionnaire and the LMI Achievement Motivation Inventory – short version. This research was carried out from January to June 2023 in Poland. The research sample (n = 225) consisted of adolescents with dyslexia (n = 112) and without dyslexia (n = 113). The results were analysed using hierarchical regression analysis. The study showed that overall sense of coherence correlated positively with sense of strength (r=0.255). Sense of self-efficacy correlated positively with sense of resourcefulness (r=0.196) and sense of strength (r=0.713) and perseverance (r=0.724) All indicators of sense of control correlated positively with each other. Sense of control in the area of success (r=0.374) and overall sense of control (r=0.472) also correlated positively with achievement motivation. The research analyses show that a predictor of achievement motivation is a sense of comprehension and a sense of locus of control on success scale. Students with dyslexia on the self-efficacy scale score low, the sense of locus of control is external, and the sense of coherence ranks low. Students’ knowledge of their own resources is crucial as it allows for increasing motivation for work and adequate response in difficult and stressful situations. These resources are also necessary for determining both shortterm and long-term goals, the achievement of which will depend precisely on motivation.

Creative space and scientific trajectory of academician V.N. Chernigovsky – first academic secretary of the department of physiology of the USSR Academy of Sciences

The article analyzes the prerequisites and conditions for choosing Academician V.N. Chernigovsky, academician-secretary of the Department of Physiology of the USSR Academy of Sciences, created in 1963. For this purpose, the scientific potential and creative success, career growth and individual qualities of Academician V.N. Chernigovsky within the framework of the methodological approach of “protected space” were considered. He was characterized by a high level of achievement motivation, he had high efficiency, and was characterized by thoroughness and accuracy in carrying out scientific work. V.N. Chernigovsky successfully developed a new direction in the field of visceral physiology and made a significant contribution to the idea of interoception. He worked hard, achieved results step by step, which added up, enhancing their combined effect and creating the basis for his recognition and career advancement. V.N. Chernigovsky had significant administrative experience in leading two leading physiological institutes. Creative space of academician V.N. Chernigovsky, his scientific trajectory and personal characteristics brought him to the forefront as a candidate for the position of Academician-Secretary of the new Department of Physiology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Election of Academician V.N. Chernigovsky’s appointment to the position of academic secretary was not an accident, a game of chance or luck. This was the result of his intensive scientific and organizational work, which were predetermined by his personal qualities.

Level of Participative Leadership, Quality Culture, Job Satisfaction and Achievement Motivation Lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Medan

This research aims to evaluate the level of participative leadership, quality culture, job satisfaction and achievement motivation of lecturers at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Medan State University. The method used in this research uses descriptive methods and a survey research form. The population and sample in this research were 100 lecturers at the Faculty of Sports Science, Medan State University. The results of the research carried out showed that the participative leadership category showed that it was 80.20% in the "high" category. The quality culture category shows that it is 85.64% in the "high" category. The job satisfaction category shows that it is 70.30% in the "medium" category. The achievement motivation category shows that it is 73.27% in the "medium" category. This shows that although participative leadership and a culture of quality have been achieved well, there are challenges in increasing job satisfaction and achievement motivation of lecturers at the Faculty of Sports Science, Medan State University. These findings show the importance of strategic interventions to increase job satisfaction and achievement motivation, even though the basics of leadership and quality culture are already quite strong.

Examining fresh students’ achievement motivation and self-efficacy towards learning high school mathematics

One of the reasons for students’ reluctance to study and succeed in mathematics is that they may not be motivated to learn. This study examined fresh senior high school (SHS) students’ achievement motivation levels and its correlate to self-efficacy towards core mathematics. The study adopted descriptive research design involving a random sample of 314 fresh students in three SHSs in a low performing district in Ghana. The achievement motive scale and the new general self-efficacy scale were adapted and used for data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance and Spearman rank correlation. The results indicated that the students’ achievement motivation levels in dimensions of striving to achieve learning targets, participation in lessons, willingness to work and maintaining positive study habits towards mathematics were quite high. Furthermore, the students’ achievement motivation levels did not differ by gender, type of junior high school attended and boarding status. However, the students’ achievement motivation levels varied across the five programs of study. The study also found a moderately positive significant correlation between students’ achievement motivation and self-efficacy beliefs. The study concludes that the fresh students in this study are highly motivated and believe they can succeed in their study. The study recommends that mathematics teachers should guide these fresh students to set realistic short-long term learning targets to facilitate higher achievement in mathematics. Mathematics teachers should try to first gauge the achievement motivation of the fresh students for high school mathematics for appropriate pedagogical decisions.

A STUDY OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH REGARDS TO CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES

The need and desire to achieve is a spring-board of the achievement motivation. The present study is initiated to access the level of achievement motivation of secondary school students with regards to certain demographic varriables.1007 secondary school students from Rajouri and poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir has been included in the sample. Achievement Motivation Scale by Deo and Mohan, (2011) has been used to collect the desired information. Results of the study has shown that an average secondary school student has low level of achievement motivation. With regards to demographic variables it is found that gender do not possess significant difference, whereas significant difference has been found in achievement motivation of secondary school students with regards to their place of living and the type of school in which they are studying.

ENTREPRENEURIAL BEHAVIOUR AND MOTIVATIONAL SOURCES OF ORNAMENTAL NURSERY OWNERS

The ornamental nursery owners are small- or large-scale entrepreneurs who raise and market their ornamental plant commodities. The ornamental nursery is an enterprise undertaken by a nursery owner to gain self-employment and earn some profit. The present study was conducted using an ex-post facto research design in four talukas of the Navsari district of South Gujarat namely Khergam, Chikhli, Gandevi and Vansda during the year 2022-23. From each selected taluka 25 respondents were randomly selected. Thus, for the present study total of 100 sample size was obtained. The study was conducted to find out the entrepreneurial behaviour and motivational sources for the ntrepreneurial behaviour of ornamental nursery owners of the study area. The entrepreneurial behaviour of ornamental nursery owners was assessed from risk orientation, achievement motivation, scientific orientation, management orientation, innovativeness and decision-making ability. The study revealed that the majority of ornamental nurseries had a medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour. The study also revealed that the majority of ornamental nursery owners had a medium level of risk orientation, achievement motivation, scientific orientation, management orientation, innovativeness and decision-making ability. Additionally, the study revealed that among the six components of entrepreneurial behaviour management orientation contributed the highest in calculating entrepreneurial behaviour, followed by scientific orientation, risk orientation, achievement motivation, decision-making ability and innovativeness based on their mean percentage ranking. The study further revealed that less than half of the ornamental nursery owners had progressive nursery owners, followed by self and neighbours/friends/relatives as their motivational sources for entrepreneurial behaviour.

The Impact of Academic Life Satisfaction on Achievement Motivation of School-Going Adolescents of South 24 Parganas District

This study aims to ascertain the impact of academic life satisfaction on the development of achievement motivation of school-going adolescents. The research employs a descriptive survey method within a correlational research design. Data is collected through the Deo-Mohan (1985) Achievement Motivation Scale and the Multidimensional Student’s Life Satisfaction Scale (Huebner, 1994). The sample consists of 576 Bengali-speaking adolescents aged 14-16 years studying in classes IX and X from South 24 Parganas District. The findings reveal significant correlations between academic achievement motivation and multidimensional students’ academic life satisfaction. Adolescents with very high levels of achievement motivation also report very high levels of multidimensional life satisfaction in the case of family, friends, school, and living environment facets, except for academic self-satisfaction, which was at a high level. Adolescents with above-average levels of achievement motivation have very high levels of satisfaction with family and school and high levels of life satisfaction with friends, living environment, and self-satisfaction. Average motivated students have quality life experiences with their family, friends, school, and living environment. However, their achievement motivation was only average due to low academic self-satisfaction. Below-average motivated adolescents exhibit learned helplessness and report low levels of multidimensional life satisfaction.

Motivation-Centred Innovative Coaching for Taekwondo and Karate Athletes in Yogyakarta and Bujumbura Cities

Martial arts coaching techniques that are research-evidenced create engaging and fulfilling training environments for athletes. This descriptive quantitative research investigated Taekwondo and Karate coaching practices focused on athletes' sports participation achievement motivation. The study includes 188 Karate and Taekwondo athletes (100 boys, 88 girls) from Yogyakarta and Bujumbura cities, selected through probability sampling method and simple random sampling techniques. The data collection instrument was a Sport Achievement Motivation Scale, adapted from the Achievement Motivation Scale. Data analysis procedure using Two-Way ANOVA with R program and descriptive statistics. Findings indicate significant differences in sport participation achievement motivation between Taekwondo and Karate martial artists from Bujumbura and Yogyakarta. In addition, motivational drives vary between male and female athletes, irrespective of country. The dominant motivational profile is Approach-Success in Training (MST), with 8 out of 14 agreed items falling within this dimension. Overall, athletes display an "Agree" level of sports participation achievement motivation (x̄ =-0.473 logits), highlighting the importance of motivational profile-centred coaching for enhanced success. These findings may guide Taekwondo and Karate coaches in tailoring methods and interventions to align with athletes' motivational profiles. Brain Control Patterns and their Relationship to the Level of Achievement Motivation of Students with Learning Disabilities in Jordan

The current study aimed to identify brain control patterns and their relationship to the level of achievement motivation of students with learning disabilities in Jordan. The study sample consisted of )221(students with learning disabilities in Na'aor district, over the various government schools offering programs for students with learning disabilities in the 2020/2021 school year. the researchers used two tools, one measuring the brain control patterns of students with learning disabilities and the other measuring their level of achievement motivation. The results of the study indicated that the common pattern of brain dominance to students with learning disabilities was that of right brain control and the level of achievement motivation was low. A direct correlation between brain control patterns and the achievement motivation level, a lack of statistically significant differences in brain control patterns attributable to the heterosexual variable. The study offers a series of recommendations, the most important of which include the development of a training program for teachers regarding the design of learning and educational programs to stimulate the work of the right side of the brain for all stages and various subjects, the establishment of educational programs to develop the motivation of achievement among students with learning difficulties at all levels.

부모의 방임적 양육태도가 다문화청소년의 학업중단의도에 미치는 영향 -사회적 위축과 성취동기의 이중매개효과를 중심으로-

The purpose of this study was to investigate the dual mediating effects of social withdrawal and achievement motivation on relationship between parent’s neglecting attitude and school dropout intention of multicultural adolescents. To achieve this, the dual mediating analysis was conducted on 1,197 multicultural adolescents using 8th year of Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS) data collected by the National Youth Policy institute. The results were as followed. First, parent’s neglecting attitude has directly a positive effect on school dropout intention among multicultural adolescents. Second, higher levels of parent’s neglecting attitude are associated with higher levels of social withdrawal, which, in turn, are associated with higher levels of school dropout intention. Third, higher levels of parent’s neglecting attitude are associated with lower levels of achievement motivation, which, in turn, are associated with higher levels of school dropout intention. Fourth, parent’s neglecting attitude has an indirect effect on school dropout intention through social withdrawal and achievement motivation. Based on these results, practical strategies for preventing neglecting attitude and social withdrawal and improving achievement motivation are discussed to reduce school dropout among multicultural youths.

THE PREVAILING LEADERSHIP STYLES IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN HAIFA DISTRICT IN PALESTINE INTERIOR AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AMONG TEACHERS

This study aimed to demonstrate the prevailing leadership styles among secondary school principals in Haifa District in the Palestinian interior and their relationship to the level of achievement motivation among teachers. The descriptive, correlational approach was used, as it is considered more appropriate for this type of study. The study relied on two questionnaires to collect data, the first related to the leadership styles of secondary school principals, and the second related to teachers’ achievement motivation. The study population consisted of all secondary school teachers in Haifa District in the Palestinian Interior, numbering (3193) male and female teachers. The study sample consisted of (398) male and female teachers, the results showed that the prevailing level of leadership style among secondary school principals in the Haifa District in the Palestinian interior is the democratic leadership style, followed by the autocratic style, while the transmission style came in last. The results showed that there are no statistically significant differences in leadership styles due to the variables of gender and experience. The results also showed that the level of achievement motivation among teachers was high, and that there were statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable, there are no statistically significant differences for the experience variable, and the results showed that there is a positive correlation between the democratic style and achievement motivation among teachers. The greater the democratic style, the greater their achievement motivation, and the absence of a correlation between the autocratic style and achievement motivation among teachers. The results also showed the existence of a relationship, there is a negative correlation between the improvisational style and teachers’ achievement motivation. the greater the transmission style, the lower the teachers’ achievement motivation

A Study of Impact of Parental Encouragement on Achievement Motivation at Secondary Level Student

Parents are the chief architects in shaping the personality of the child. Parent's attitudes a pre-dominant role in fostering or hindering the child's development. Although, parental encouragement is essential for the child at all stages. But it becomes increasingly significant at secondary level. Due to more pressures and strains of studies, peer groups, competitions etc. achievement motivation at secondary level is found to be the foremost variable which has a great impact on the personality and future prospects of the child. Taking into consideration the importance of relation of these variables with parental encouragement. The present study is an attempt to appraise the effect of parental encouragement on achievement motivation at secondary level. Ex-post facto research method is best suited for the under taken study. Population of the present study comprises all secondary schools situated in Greater Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar. One UP Board school and one CBSE Board school were taken from list of all school. Researcher has selected a sample of 150 students. Of these 150 students 75 students are from one CBSE Board school and another 75 students are from one UP Board school. The major data gathering tools and techniques such as psychological tests, enquiry forms, observation, Interview, Socio-metric techniques Data gathering devices are termed as tools. Statistical mean, SD, T Test, Independent one sample t-test, Independent two sample t-test, paired samples employed. The study found that secondary school students had average parental encouragement, with both boys and girls equally motivated by their parents. Additionally, both boys and girls had an average achievement motivation level, indicating a diminishing awareness of gender differences among parents. The study explores Parental Encouragement among students in Greater Noida schools, suggesting a longitudinal, longitudinal study for different age groups and a developmental study. The study focuses on Achievement Motivation as a key factor for parental encouragement, specifically among secondary school students in Greater Noida. The scope includes sampling procedures, data collection and analysis techniques, and the development of measuring tools.

Introduction. The article presents theoretical and empirical analysis of the problem of personal responsibility in national and foreign psychological works. The results of the study of personal responsibility of cadets of educational establishments of the Federal Penal Correction Service of Russia are described. The aim of the research was to identify the structural elements of personal responsibility of cadets of educational establishments of the Federal Penal Correction Service of Russia. The empirical study was conducted at the Academy of Law and Management of the Federal Penal Correction Service of Russia. The participants were 165 cadets representing courses 1 to 5. Each course covered 33 respondents. The scientific problem is to study the personal responsibility of cadets of the educational establishment of the Federal Penal Correction Service of Russiaand to determine its structural elements. Research methods and techniques. To determine the structural elements of personal responsibility of cadets of educational establishments of FSIN of Russia the following methods and techniques were used: “Multidimensional functional diagnostics of responsibility-110 (“OTV-110”)” (V. P. Pryadein,O. V. Mukhlynina); “A Shortened “Basic English” Version (Form C) of the 16 PF Questionnaire” (R. Kettell); “Motivation of success and fear of failure” (A. A. Rean); “Moral reliability questionnaire (MRQ)” (E. Yu.Strizhov); “Test-questionnaire of selfattitude – SAR” (V. V. Stolin, S. R. Pantileev). The research revealed: the structure of personal responsibility of cadets of educational organisations of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia includes: 1) regulatory and dynamic components; 2) personal components; 3) motivational and semantic components. The regulatory and dynamic component comprises ergidity, stenicity, and internality. The personal component is made up of emotional stability, self-attitude, self-control of emotional reactions, the level of empathy, the ability to solve personal and operational difficulties. The motivational and semantic component includes sociocentricity, meaningfulness, recognition of responsibility to norms, understanding of the need to comply with norms, and the level of achievement motivation.

High School Student-Athletes: Their Motivation, Study Habits, Self-Discipline, Academic Support, and Academic Performance

Study purpose. Student-athletes have a role that is not easy to balance between the role of being an athlete and the role of being a student at school. Not a few of them have obstacles in balancing both roles. This study aims to reveal the characteristics of secondary school student-athletes in Bengkulu City. The main objectives are to describe the level of achievement motivation, study habits, self-discipline, academic support, and academic performance. Materials and methods. This study is a quantitative descriptive research with a survey approach involving 402 student-athletes at the junior high school and senior high school levels. The student-athletes represent 16 sports. The average age of student-athletes is 15.9 years. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire consisting of 36 statement items. The mean ideal and standard deviation ideal formulas were used to analyze data regarding the category level of each indicator, while the independent sample t-test was used to determine differences in data between student-athletes based on gender and type of sport. Results. The results of this study reveal that student-athletes in Bengkulu City have achievement motivation, study habits, self-discipline, academic support, and academic performance in the high category. There is a significant difference between male and female student-athletes (sig 0.001 < 0.005). There were no significant differences between student-athletes from individual and team sports (0.442 > 0.005). Conclusions. Student-athletes at junior high school and senior high school education levels have good characteristics, there are significant differences between male and female athletes, and there are no significant differences between individual athletes and team athletes.

NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING AS AN EDUCATIONAL-THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMME: TWO CASE STUDIES

<p>The neuro-linguistic approach emphasizes man's behaviours as the product of neurological processes within and the experience of the external world outside. When an individual wishes to get into a desired behaviour, Neuro-linguistic Programming helps one to understand one’s current situation and gives a road map to the desired state (1). When NLP is applied in sports, mental skill training, contributes to the new desired behaviour in the form of optimal performance in their respective sports. <strong>Objective: </strong>This paper aims to examine a tailor-made NLP intervention to reduce low self-determination, poor emotional maturity, and low motivation among two university women volleyball players. <strong>Method: </strong>This study used a case study approach, and employed NLP techniques such as; collapsing anchoring, and meta-model language patterns, to help two athletes who experienced low self-determination and low motivation and found it emotionally difficult to perform in training and competition, to restructure their dysfunctional thoughts, emotions and memories. <strong>Results: </strong>The intervention showed promising improvement in helping Participant A to be more resilient and Participant B to be higher in motivation. The results obtained from the interview sessions, and through the quantitative analysis showed that the NLP intervention had successfully helped the participants to cope with dysfunctional thoughts and emotional imbalance and to bounce back. <strong>Conclusions: </strong>The NLP-based intervention, has helped the players to be more self-determined, experience much Emotional control and maturity, and increase the level of sports achievement motivation and sports resilience.</p><p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/soc/0414/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>
