A Research on University Students’ Behavioral Intention to Use New-generation Information Technology in Intelligent Foreign Language Learning

A better understanding of how advancement in science and technology affect students’ learning behavior in an academic setting can help all educators in higher education. With the advancement of science and technology, the new-generation information technology represented by “Cloud Computing, Big Data, Internet of Things, Mobile Network, and Artificial Intelligence” has been profoundly changing the form of education, accelerating the transformation from Teaching 1.0 to Learning 2.0. To investigate the factors influencing university students using a new-generation information technology in intelligent foreign language learning, this study proposed a research model based on Technology Acceptance Model. The sample data were collected from a survey of 237 students at a university. The analysis of structural equation modeling indicated that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, construction of foreign language intelligence classroom, and computer self-efficacy all have a positive impact on learners’ behavioral intention. These findings suggest that more emphasis should be laid on students’ learning characteristics, advantages of a new generation of technology, as well as teachers’ intelligent literacy, to further promote the deep integration of the new-generation information technology and intelligent foreign language learning, improving the learning effectiveness ultimately and effectively.

Increasing Students' Understanding by Using ICT in Elementary Schools

This study aims to explore students' experiences in using information and communication technology (ICT) in learning and how it can improve their understanding in primary school. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, involving 12 students from an elementary school in X city. Data were collected by in-depth interviews and observations, the collected data were then analyzed using content analysis method to identify patterns, themes, and meanings from the generated data. The results showed that the use of ICT in learning provides a positive experience for students and can improve their understanding in various subjects. Students experience changes in the way they acquire and process information, as well as in the way they interact with teachers and classmates. In addition, the use of ICT also motivates students to be more active in learning and improves their learning outcomes. However, there are some barriers that students face in using ICT in learning, such as technical difficulties and limited access. Therefore, this study concludes that the use of ICT in learning can improve students' understanding, but it needs to be balanced with efforts to overcome the barriers that arise. THE USE OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING: A CASE STUDY AT ONE PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN JAMBI

This research is aimed to describe students’ perception toward the use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in language learning. The objective of the study is to know students’ perception toward the use of ICT in language learning and to know the problem that they encountered during the use of ICT. The design of this research was survey method. The subject of this research was sixth semester students’ of English department Jambi University. A questionnaire was main instrument to gather the data. The questionnaire consists of items regarding the educational resources of respondents, their reasons for using ICT, the use of ICT in learning process and the problems that they encountered. The result of the study showed that ICT is useful for students. Using ICT can help students easier in accessing information they need which can bring positive effect for students, but this should supported by sufficient ICT equipment and ability to determine information which they search for in order to give better performance since the number one problem faced by students come from two numbers which are, few staff using ICT and information from ICT always change. It is recommended for lecturer to involve ICT services during the teaching and learning process more often and giving guidance to students to determine the appropriate material for their needs. For this reason, the Faculty of Computer Science, Dehasen University, Bengkulu conducted community service regarding IoT technology to students at SMAN 1 Kepahyang. Learning media is a very important factor in supporting the success of the teaching and learning process. Global limitations emphasize the need for the world of education to continue to adapt to technological advances to improve the quality of education, especially in the use of information and communication technology in learning, especially in the subject of Islamic Cultural History there are still problems of student misunderstanding caused by inappropriate learning methods and media. This article is written to explain the role of audio-visual media in improving the learning process and outcomes of Islamic Cultural History. The research method used is library research. The data used is in the form of articles that discuss the use of audio-visual media in learning Islamic Cultural History, the article is systematically reviewed as the main data in research. This research takes sources from articles published in the last 4 years (2020-2024). The data used in this study was collected from various sources, namely: Google Scholar, Sinta, and Publish or Perish The data collection technique used in this study is to search and construct from various sources, such as journals, books, and from several relevant previous studies. The results showed that learning cultural history using audio-visual media is very effective because it can help students to feel the atmosphere of Islamic culture directly through virtual worlds such as documentary videos, historical simulations, and virtual-based applications. The Application of Information Technology in Physical Education Teaching and Training

This research determined the application strategy of information technology in the learning of physical education, and sports and training of Hunan Institute of Physical Education. The study conducted a parallel analysis of the assessment collected from both sports-student-respondents and physical education teacher-respondents. This research which used a purposive sampling technique adopted the descriptive-comparative-correlational research design. It was conducted during the second semester of school year 2022-2023. The results garnered from both group of respondents were compared, analyzed, and interpreted. Based from the findings, majority of the students are below 18 years old, mostly females, and were from grade 10. majority of the teachers are 31 -40 years and 41-50 years old; are females; and have up to 16-20 years of teaching experience. On the application of information technology in the learning of physical education in terms of learning experience, the assessment showed that the students and teachers agreed, denoting a high level of the use of technology for improved learning experience when it comes to increased flexibility as in virtual learning, providing individual-oriented experience, use of gaming systems in gym classes to enhance learning experience, etc. The assessment scores of the teachers on the use of IT for learning physical education were significantly higher compared to those of the students. From the perspective of the students and teachers, technology was used for analyzing sports performance at a high level because coaches apply information technology for visual feedback and replays, high-definition cameras are used to monitor players in the pitch, data analytics are used to study and understand the team, information technology is applied in sports to provide measurable training routines, for Live-tracking performances, etc. The assessment scores of the teachers on the use of information technology for sports and training were significantly lower compared to those of the students. The negative correlation between the use of information technology for sports and training and the learning experience of the students suggests that a low-level usage of information technology for sports and training was connected to a poor learning experience of the students. Lastly, the researcher proposed a plan to promote the use of information technology in physical education learning and sports training

The presence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in learning is a challenge in itself for the world of education, in particular, learning technology today. Demands in responding to the globalization of education have appeared before our eyes. Various computer devices and their connections can deliver students to learn quickly and accurately if used correctly and appropriately. Therefore, it requires human resources who are responsive to ICT developments
 Learning will be more fun if the teacher is able to make ICT-based teaching materials that can increase student creativity. With the use of ICT-based teaching materials in learning, the learning process will be more interesting and can make students more contextual. If we observe carefully, until now teachers have not been able to develop ICT-based learning. In the learning process, the teacher still uses the old method, namely teacher-centered learning, so that students are less able to develop their creativity.
 This condition is also found in teachers at SD IT Yaumi Fatimah Pati. Where some teachers have not been able to carry out the ICT-based learning process, especially in compiling and making teaching materials, so that the learning process is only traditional, namely by lecturing, a little question and answer. Through community service activities, it will help teachers improve their competence in mastery of ICT which is useful in the learning process.

This literature review describes the transformation of learning through ICT, explaining the paradigm shift from conventional approaches to more adaptive and collaborative interactive learning. The results of this literature review illustrate how important the role of ICT is in shaping the future of education that is more interactive, inclusive and relevant to the demands of the times. Through collaboration between educational institutions, government, and the technology industry, as well as a careful pedagogical approach, ICT can be a catalyst to optimise the learning process and empower students to face the complexities of the modern world.

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning of Language

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning of Language has been extensive. It has been effective in increasing performance and retention rate. Research has shown that people remember 20% of what they see, 40% of what they see and hear, but about 75% of what they see, hear and do simultaneously (Lindstrom 73). ICT is now permeating the educational system as a tool for effective teaching and learning. With multimedia, the communication of information can be done in a more effective manner and it can be effective instructional medium for delivering information. Multimedia access to knowledge of the possibilities of information and communication technology has tremendous impact on learning. The instructional media have emerged in a variety of resources and equipment, which can be used to supplement or complement the teacher’s efforts in ensuring effective learning by students. It is recognized that conventional media technologies can no longer meet the need of our teaching and learning process; as a result, they are being replaced by multimedia technology.

Promoting Digital Literacy: Assessing Teachers Readiness in Utilizing Information and Communication Technology for Learning in Rural Area

This research aims to evaluate and ascertain the readiness of teachers to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in educational settings, with a particular focus on rural environments. By examining teachers' preparedness in employing ICT, the study sheds light on the unique conditions and phenomena associated with technology use in learning activities in rural areas. The methodology adopted for this research was a descriptive qualitative approach, using a case study design focused on the island of Belitung. The study involved 12 classroom teachers from three elementary schools in Badau Village as research subjects. Data were gathered through interviews and document analysis, employing thematic analysis techniques for data interpretation. To ensure the validity of the data, techniques of technical and source triangulation were used. The findings indicate six themes regarding the teachers' readiness to use ICT, including teachers' proficiency in operating laptops/computers, and their capability to plan, select, and integrate ICT tools for educational and administrative purposes. Additionally, skills in collaboration, using the internet, and leveraging other advanced applications are deemed crucial. The study also reveals that teachers need to comprehend their roles and functions in adapting to ICT developments, thereby aligning their readiness with the standards of professional teacher competency. The study highlights the need for teachers to understand their roles in ICT adaptation, aligning with professional competency standards. These insights provide a framework for future research, policymaking, and practice enhancement in educational ICT, aiming to improve educational quality and effectiveness in the digital age.

Three Subjects and Seven Duties Model: Empowering Informatization Teaching Ability of Pre-Service Teachers

By constructing a model, this study seeks to provide suggestions for strengthening pre-service teachers’ informatization teaching ability. It aims to answer the following research questions: (1) What do the pre-service teachers know about informatization instruction? What is their level of informatization teaching ability? (2) What factors influence pre-service teachers’ ability to deliver informatization instruction? How to overcome the obstacles? The inquiry focuses on the theoretical exploration of informatization teaching ability, questionnaire, and interview analysis on the current condition and improvement of pre-service teachers’ informatization teaching ability. The data from the questionnaire and interview of the pre-service teachers were evaluated from three dimensions: awareness and attitude towards informatization teaching, knowledge of informatization teaching, and the ability to apply informatization teaching skills innovatively and comprehensively. The 3S-7D (Three Subjects and Seven Duties) model consisting of three subjects and the seven duties that go with them is established. The three subjects include pre-service teachers, teacher educators, and higher education schools. The seven duties involve pre-service teachers demonstrating learning motivation, cross-discipline thinking, and information and communications technology mastery; teacher educators actively constructing informatization teaching practice and formative assessment; and higher education schools providing adequate hardware and software equipment while offering cooperative opportunities with primary and junior schools through institutionalization.

Pedagogical video: a key learning object for e-learning, from mediation to mediatization

Current developments relating to integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) in learning lead us to wonder about the positive impact that pedagogical video can have on e-learning devices mediating between teacher and learner. Determining the concepts of mediatization and mediation constitutes one of the essential bases of any pedagogical engineering of mediated videos to ensure better transmission of knowledge. To articulate the two concepts of mediation and mediatization, designers, teachers, and trainers must not only mediate the contents of the video but also the pedagogical relation, the design and production process, without forgetting the scenarization phase of the pedagogical videos, which occupy an important place in the pedagogical engineering. In our article, after giving an overview of the two concepts, mediation, and mediatization, we define the pedagogical video, the use of the pedagogical video, and the forms of the pedagogical video. Then, we identify the mediatization tools of pedagogical videos and their mediatization articulation according to previous studies.

One size fits all? The role of task complexity in L2 production via the audio chat

The pervasive use of information and computer technology in second or foreign language learning has led researchers to explore the ideal tasks for technological environments to facilitate second language (L2) learning. This study intended to contribute new knowledge to this area by examining the effects of the task complexity manipulated along the variable +-few elements in Robinson’s Cognition Hypothesis on L2 production of 42 lower intermediate Chinese EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners who completed two interactive tasks (simple versus complex) in dyads via audio chat of the video-conferencing platform WeMeet in a laboratory setting. Participants were also instructed to measure the difficulty of the tasks by responding to a self-rating questionnaire immediately after they completed each task. Their L2 output in the two tasks were recorded, transcribed and coded in three dimensions namely, syntactic complexity, lexical complexity and accuracy. SPSS 26 was used for statistical analyses. The results revealed that increasing task complexity induced significantly more lexically complex language. However, it did not result in significant changes in terms of syntactic complexity or accuracy of learners’ L2 output via audio chat. These results contradicted the predictions of the Cognition Hypothesis, suggesting the inapplicability of Cognition Hypothesis in audio chat.

Principal Leadership in Increasing the Professionalism of Elementary School Teachers in Banyuasin Regency

This study aims to determine the role of the principal's leadership in improving the professionalism of teachers at a public elementary school Banyuasin III. The data source of this research comes from the results of interviews with school principals and teachers. Methods such as interviews, participant observation, and documentation are used to gather data. Data reduction, visualisation, and verification are the data analysis strategies. He has stressed the need of instructors maintaining a professional demeanour at all times in his role as an educator.
