ABSTRACT The second season of the Netflix show Warrior Nun included the development and confirmation of the romance between its two lead female characters: Ava Silva and Sister Beatrice. 4 weeks later it became another victim of the “Cancel Your Gays” trend. Fans responded by launching a “Save Our Show” campaign, calling for Netflix or another streaming service to provide a third season and creating WARRIOR NUN Global, one of the main organizing forces behind the campaign. WARRIOR NUN Global offers a look at how queer women’s fandoms are responding to the “Cancel Your Gays” trend. Because of its unique context, WARRIOR NUN Global differed from previous organizing against the “Bury Your Gays” trope and other “Save Our Show” campaigns by embracing the cast and crew, concentrating their anger on media companies, focusing on saving the show and raising awareness about the “Cancel Your Gays” trend, and fostering a transnational community.
