Digital Transformation (DX) in Maintenance and Asset Management: Lessons Learned from Project 25DX of the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management

The Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) collaboratively shares knowledge and standards in maintenance and asset management. The digital transformation (DX) landscape in this field is rapidly evolving, presenting various challenges and opportunities. This paper provides an overview of key findings, implications, concerns, and guidelines to facilitate the transformative process. This analysis reveals significant implications for asset management and maintenance, highlighting the vital role of data, analytics, compliance, optimization, human resources, and holistic lifecycle management in navigating challenges and leveraging opportunities brought by digital transformation. Organizations must embrace these changes, foster innovation, and adapt their strategies and processes to fully capitalize on digital transformation’s benefits. To understand community concerns, a thorough survey was conducted among industry professionals from diverse sectors and roles. The survey aimed to identify current challenges, barriers, and readiness for digital transformation, enabling us to offer tailored guidance and recommendations for professionals and organizations at different levels of asset management maturity. In this paper we briefly review implications of digital transformations, we present some results of the survey to show some specific concerns of the respondents, and we introduce a list of guidelines elaborated, per role in the organization, to navigate this digital transformation. The This is and advance of the GFMAM document on DX in maintenance and asset management, that is expected to be published by the end of 2023.

The association of oral health knowledge with factors influencing the dental visit behaviour of pregnant women based on the theory of planned behavior

ABSTRACTIntroduction: A lack of knowledge of oral health maintenance among pregnant women affects the behavior of maintaining poor oral health. It is important for pregnant women to visit the dentist due to their increased susceptibility to oral diseases, which can adversely impact pregnancy outcomes, including premature birth and low birth weight. According to the theory of planned behavior, a mother's knowledge can influence her health-related behavior. To determine the level of oral health knowledge among pregnant women and to examine the relationship between this knowledge and the factors that influence their behavior regarding dental visits. Methods: This study uses a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach, focusing on pregnant women at the Cijerah Community Health Centerin Bandung City, Indonesia. A purposive sampling method resulted 67 participants. A new questionnaire assessed oral health knowledge (20 items) and factors influencinh visiting behavior based on the theory of planned behavior (26 items). Data analysis used the Spearman correlation test. Results:Most pregnant women (76.2%) had insufficient oral health knowledge, but showed a positive attitude towards dental visits in the first trimester and every six months (11.91 ± 2.66 and 11.65 ± 2.87). They also reported good subjective norm (28.73 ± 5.42 and 28.31 ± 5.19), good behavioral control (8.23 ± 1.67 and 8.32 ± 1.61) and good intention (3.94 ± 0.96 and 3.83 ± 1.06). Conclusion: The level of oral health knowledge is low, and althoughfactors influencing the dental visit behavior are positive, there is no correlation between this knowledge and factors that influence the behavior of visiting the dentist.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF PREGNANT WOMEN'S KNOWLEDGE OF DENTAL AND ORAL HEATH MAINTENANCE WITH GINGIVITIS STATUS

Pregnant women are a group that requires special attention to their oral heath. Pregnant women often neglect their oral hygiene which wil cause plaque buildup on the teeth and gingival margin, this can cause gingival inflammation or gingivitis. One of the efforts that can be done to prevent gingivitis is to reduce eating cariogenic foods and brushing teeth properly and regulaly and what can be done by heath workers by providing education to increase their knowledge about gingivitis. Problems: The status of gingivitis among pregnant women at BPS (Private Practice Midwife). Objective: To know the relationship between knowledge of oral heath maintenance of pregnant women and gingivitis status. Method: This type of research is analytic research with cross sectional method, with a sample of 56 pregnant women. The data analysis technique uses a normality test, namely Kolmogorov-Smirnov after the Chi-Square test. Result: There is no relationship between the knowledge of dental and oral heath maintenance of pregnant women with gingivitis status.

The Effectiveness of Counseling Using Dental Puppets in Improving Knowledge of Dental and Oral Health Maintenance

Children may have a high debris index because they do not know enough about maintaining oral hygiene. The high debris index in grade II students of SDN Bendul Merisi Surabaya is a problem in this study. The purpose of this study was to evaluate how well the response of grade II students of SDN Bendul Merisi Surabaya to counseling using tooth dolls to improve their understanding of maintaining good oral health. Quantitative research was used in this methodology. 52 students registered in grade II of SDN Bendul Merisi Surabaya were the focus of this study. The tool used to collect data was a questionnaire. The survey sheet was the tool used to collect data. The data analysis technique used was the Wilcoxon test. The results of students' knowledge before counseling using tooth dolls were in the poor criteria, after counseling using tooth dolls it was in the good category, in addition, P < 0.05 which was indicated by the Wilcoxon test effectiveness test showed that tooth dolls had an impact on improving students' understanding in maintaining oral health. The study concluded that the counseling of tooth puppet media is a very good way to improve the understanding of grade II students about maintaining oral health at SDN Bendul Merisi Surabaya. Integration of IoT in Small-Scale Aquaponics to Enhance Efficiency and Profitability: A Systematic Review.

Aquaponics combines aquaculture and hydroponics to offer a sustainable approach to agriculture, addressing food security issues with minimal environmental harm. However, small-scale practitioners face challenges due to a lack of professional knowledge in water chemistry and system maintenance. Economic hurdles, such as operational costs and energy-intensive components, hinder the viability of small-scale aquaponics. Selecting suitable fish and plant species, along with appropriate stocking densities, is crucial. Media Bed (MB), Deep Water Culture (DWC), and the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) are commonly used hydroponic techniques. This study outlines optimal conditions, including water quality, temperature, pH, and nutrient concentrations, essential for symbiotic fish and plant cultivation. Integrating IoT technology enhances efficiency and profitability by optimizing resource utilization, monitoring water quality, and ensuring optimal growth conditions. Knowledge sharing among practitioners fosters innovation and sustainability through collaborative learning and best practices exchange. Establishing a community for knowledge sharing is vital for continuous improvement, advancing small-scale aquaponics towards a more efficient and sustainable future.

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Oncology Nurses in the Maintenance of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) in Selected Hospitals in Shandong Province China

Background: Standardized catheter maintenance by nurses can reduce complications. Understanding the knowledge, attitude and practice status of clinical nurses in PICC maintenance is of great practical significance for medical and health development. Objective: To describe the current knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of nurses on peripheral central catheterization (PICC) maintenance. Methods: The knowledge, attitude and behavior of PICC maintenance of 317 oncology nurses in Shandong Province were analyzed by questionnaires. The counting data were described by frequency and percentage. The influence factors of PICC maintenance knowledge, attitude and behavior were determined by independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance. Results Gender, age, professional title, education level, work experience, PICC training experience and PICC certificate are all significant factors affecting PICC maintenance knowledge, attitude and behavior. In the dimension of PICC maintenance knowledge, 212 nurses (mean = 10.00, SD=1.26) were proficient in PICC maintenance knowledge, while 105 nurses (mean = 16.60, SD=1.34) were obviously lacking in PICC maintenance knowledge. In the dimension of PICC maintenance attitude, the average score of nurses' PICC maintenance attitude was 52.92+10.34 points, and 228 nurses (mean = 58.86, SD=4.67) had a positive attitude towards PICC maintenance. The average score of nurses' PICC maintenance practice was 62.03+13.00, 64% of nurses had good PICC maintenance practice ability, and 203 nurses (mean =71.33, SD=4.76) had good PICC maintenance practice ability. Discussion In conclusion, the knowledge, attitude and practice of PICC maintenance of oncology nurses in Shandong Province were all at a moderate level. The role of demographic factors on PICC maintenance was paid attention to, and the training on PICC maintenance was emphasized, and the knowledge level, attitude cognition and practical ability of nurses on PICC maintenance were improved through diversified training methods.

“I’ve Got No Skills to Maintain – to Keep That Going”: A Qualitative Study of People with Chronic Aphasia and Their Partners About Factors Contributing to the Maintenance of Aphasia Therapy Gains

ABSTRACT Background The maintenance of therapy gains is critical for successful aphasia rehabilitation, a topic often overlooked in both research and clinical practice. For some people with chronic aphasia, maintaining therapeutic gains can be challenging, potentially resulting in diminished communicative function over time. Furthermore, maintaining therapy gains may necessitate consistent, deliberate effort; however, little is known about the factors supporting this process. People living with chronic aphasia and their family members may provide critical insights into the behavioural factors that impact the maintenance of therapy gains. Understanding these factors will be crucial for developing long-lasting, effective aphasia interventions. Aim In this study, we explored the perspectives and practices of people with chronic aphasia and their partners concerning the maintenance of gains from therapy for post-stroke chronic aphasia. Methods & Procedures Eight in-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted, involving four people with chronic aphasia and four partners. We employed inductive thematic data analysis to identify emergent themes. Outcomes & Results Five themes were identified that were perceived to influence the maintenance of gains made during aphasia rehabilitation. These were: 1) Beliefs about change: improvement, decline, and maintenance; 2) Personal abilities impact improvement and maintenance; 3) External support impacts improvement and maintenance; 4) Engaging in ongoing real-life communication impacts improvement and maintenance; and 5) Knowledge and services gaps in maintenance. The findings demonstrate the complexity and interaction of factors that potentially facilitate or hinder the maintenance of therapy gains in chronic aphasia. Conclusions People with chronic aphasia and their partners report having a limited understanding of the necessity and methods for maintaining therapy gains. They also describe a lack of services to support this. A lack of knowledge and services could hinder the ability to maintain therapeutic benefits. Our study also suggests various behavioural factors are involved in maintaining gains. Forming meaningful real-life communication routines may potentially optimise such gains. These findings highlight the necessity of placing maintenance at the heart of aphasia rehabilitation, informing future interventions and service development.

Digital twin-driven intelligent operation and maintenance platform for large-scale hydro-steel structures

Large-scale hydro-steel structures (LS-HSS) are pivotal in hydraulic engineering, boasting high lift, expansive apertures, and discharge capacities. Conventional methods of operation and maintenance for LS-HSS require a digital revolution to ensure safety, reliability, and durability. This study introduces a novel approach, harnessing the power of a digital twin (DT) to integrate physical and virtual elements in LS-HSS operation and maintenance seamlessly. A digital twin modeling framework of LS-HSS operation and maintenance is first presented, incorporating five levels of a physical entity, a virtual entity, DT data, services, and connections. Subsequently, a DT-driven intelligent operation and maintenance (DT-IOM) platform is constructed and applied, which features real-time mapping, closed-loop control, dynamic health assessment, and intelligent decision-making. This platform provides a pathway for digitally transforming conventional LS-HSS operation and maintenance and paves the way for a new era of intelligent infrastructure management. The proposed approach has been successfully implemented and validated with multiple engineering projects, including radial gates of reservoir spillways, plain gates of flood discharge orifices, and emergency gates of pumped storage power stations. The impressive results demonstrate a significant anomaly response and processing efficiency improvement of over 60%. Moreover, the platform has substantially reduced field inspection time and equipment failure rate by approximately 50% and 20%, respectively. These tangible benefits further highlight the platform’s functional advantages, including its capability for IoT connection, modeling and integration, virtual-real interaction, 2D/3D visualization, and service expansion. The results demonstrate the unique features in the closed loop of perception, analysis, decision-making, and optimization for DT-IOM, especially for integrating data, models, knowledge, and services in LS-HSS intelligent operation and maintenance.

HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN PEMELIHARAAN KESEHATAN GIGI TERHADAP KONDISI INDEKS OHIS PADA SISWA DIKTUBA SPN POLDA KALSEL

Background: Dental and oral health problems in Indonesia are quite high based on the 2018 Riskesdas data. According to Blum's theory, the high number of dental and oral health problems can be caused by four main factors which include behavior, environment, health services and heredity which are based on a lack of knowledge about the importance of maintaining dental and oral health. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship of knowledge about maintaining dental health and oral hygiene conditions in students of the SPN Polda South Kalimantan dictuba. Methods: This research is an analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a total sample of 35 people. Test analysis using the SPSS application with the somers'd method. Results: The results of the study showed that knowledge of dental and oral health was a good level of knowledge and the OHIS index was included in the good category. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the knowledge of dental health maintenance with the OHIS index on students of the South Kalimantan Regional Police SPN Diktaba.Keywords : Knowledge, Maintenence, OHIS, Police

Project “Tubig Para sa Lahat” (Water for All): Revisiting a Community Extension Project

This study seeks to evaluate the community water tank project started by the Community Extension Service Unit (CESU) of Gordon College in Olongapo City, Philippines. A group went to the area to inspect the water tank project during the month of March 2023. They gathered data by observing and documenting the water tank and its surroundings as well as interviewed the chieftain and locals. Based on the documentation, observation, and interviews, they did not give the water tank project priority in terms of proper management and maintenance. The lack of proper knowledge in water tank maintenance contributes to this finding in the community. Based on this premise, the researchers propose a manual for maintaining the water tank for future use.

Research on Large Language Model for Coal Mine Equipment Maintenance Based on Multi-Source Text

The efficient management and utilization of coal mine equipment maintenance knowledge is an indispensable foundation for advancing the establishment of intelligent mines. This knowledge has problems such as scattered, low sharing, and insufficient management, which restricts the development of coal mine intelligence. For the above-mentioned problems, a large language model for the maintenance of coal mine equipment based on multi-source text (XCoalChat) was proposed to better manage and utilize the existing massive knowledge of coal mine equipment maintenance. The dataset of coal mine equipment maintenance based on ReliableCEMK-Self-Instruction was constructed to obtain a wide and diverse amount of knowledge through sample generation. Aiming at the illusory problem of the large language model, a knowledge graph enhancement method based on the “Coal Mine Equipment Maintenance System—Full Life Cycle—Specification” was proposed to improve the knowledge density. A triple-LoRA fine-tuning mechanism and DPO direct preference optimization method were introduced into the top of the baseline model, which guarantees that XCoalChat can handle multiple Q&A and maintenance decision analysis tasks with limited computing power. Compared with ChatGLM, Bloom, and LLama, the comprehensive assessment of XCoalChat was performed by experiments including coal mine dialog consulting, coal mine professional consulting, and maintenance decision analysis. The results showed that XCoalChat achieved the best response accuracy in professional consulting and maintenance decision analysis; XCoalChat also took the least reasoning time on average. XCoalChat outperformed other mainstream large language models, which verify that XCoalChat is an effective large language model in the field of coal mine equipment maintenance.

Development of a promotional media model using puzzle media as an effort to increase knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance in Preschool Children

Background: Efforts to increase the knowledge of society in general and school children in particular can be carried out through the Communication, Information and Education (KIE) program. Learning while playing is an effective method for children to increase their knowledge. The media used varies greatly, from oral, singing, printed or written media, games such as snakes and ladders and puzzles, to electronic media such as television and the internet. Puzzles are an interesting game for children, because basically children like attractive colored images. Puzzles can train finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination, as well as the cognitive concept of matching shapes and parts to wholes. Objective: To determine the effect of Health Promotion using puzzle media in increasing preschool children's dental health knowledge. Method: This study used a one group pretest and posttest design by providing treatment and measuring preschool children's knowledge before and after treatment. Results: The results of the analysis obtained a significance value of <0.05. Conclusion: There is an influence of puzzle media in increasing the knowledge and dental hygiene of preschool children.

DINAMIKA PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN DENGAN VIDEO ANIMASI TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN PEMELIHARAAN ORGAN REPRODUKSI DAN PENCEGAHAN SEX ABUSE PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH

Knowledge of maintaining reproductive organs and preventing sex abuse in school-age children has a very important role in helping their knowledge about maintaining their reproductive health and preventing sexual crimes. Experimental with pre-test and post-test using animated videos. The sampling technique used was total sampling (32 respondents) class VIII-H at SMPN 9 Gresik. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire on maintaining reproductive organs and preventing sex abuse. Average knowledge before being given health education (52.02) and after being given health education (75.91). The average understanding of preventing sex abuse before being given health education (70.31) and after being given health education (82.50). The results of the paired t-test showed the influence of health education (animated videos) on knowledge of reproductive organ maintenance and preventing sex abuse at school age (pvalue 0.000). There is an influence of animated videos on knowledge of maintaining reproductive organs and preventing sex abuse in school-aged children at SMPN 9 Gresik.

Harnessing Deep Learning Techniques for Enhanced Detection and Classification of Cracks in Pavement Imagery

With the increased demand for infrastructure maintenance and the evolving capabilities of deep learning, there is a pressing need to apply advanced techniques for efficient and accurate detection of structural anomalies. This paper delves into the application of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and transfer learning to address the problem of pavement crack classification using images. Three distinctive models were explored: a 4-layer CNN, a 2-layer CNN, and a VGG-based transfer learning model. Through comprehensive experimentation, we demonstrate the efficacy of these models in accurately classifying Pavement cracks from a curated dataset. Our findings indicate that while each model possesses its unique strengths, the VGG-based transfer learning model exhibits superior performance in terms of precision and recall. This research not only contributes to the growing body of knowledge in infrastructure maintenance using deep learning but also provides practical insights for professionals aiming to employ automated systems for Pavement inspection.

EFEITO DO PROGRAMA DE TRANSIÇÃO NO AUTOCUIDADO DE PACIENTES COM INSUFICIÊNCIA CARDÍACA: ENSAIO CLÍNICO RANDOMIZADO

ABSTRACT Objective: analyze the effect of transitional care on self-care, quality of life and knowledge of disease of patients admitted with heart failure. Method: this is a blind randomized clinical trial with 74 patients with heart failure in two quaternary hospitals in Rio de Janeiro-RJ between December 2017 and February 2020. The intervention group received transitional care with educational management by a nurse at the bedside from admission until hospital discharge and telephone consultation for 30 days after discharge. The control group received usual follow-up. The primary outcomes included maintenance skills, management and confidence in self-care, and the secondary outcomes included quality of life and knowledge of disease. Both were assessed using questionnaires validated for use in Brazil. Data were analyzed by repeated measures ANOVA. Results: the intervention group had higher scores for maintenance (74.3 vs 44.2; p<0.001) and self-care confidence (79.3 vs 56.4; p<0.001) and knowledge of disease (41.3 vs 27.5; p<0.001) and lower quality of life scores (42.1 vs 64.5; p<0.001) 30 days after discharge. Conclusion: transitional care was effective in improving quality of life, knowledge of disease, maintenance and confidence in self-care. This study was registered in the Brazilian Clinical Trials Registry, under RBR-2dpc6b.

The Effectiveness of Video-Based Education on the Knowledge of Oral Health Maintenance and Tooth-Brushing Behavior Among the Students of the STM IX in Lurah Jambi

Adolescents are one of the groups with health problems. Based on the results of the Basic Health Research of the Ministry of Health (Riskesdas) in 2018, based on the presence of dental and oral health problems in the age group 15-24 (51.9%) and only those handled by health workers (8.7%), the data also shows, The prevalence of caries in the age group 15-24 years was (75.3%) with caries and (61.1%) with root caries. Video-based counseling can increase students' knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of video media on dental and oral health knowledge and tooth brushing behavior in students of STM IX Lurah Jambi in 2022.The type of research was Quasi-Experimental with a one-group pre-test and post-test design—research measuring instrument using a questionnaire. The sample is class XI STM IX Lurah Jambi. The sampling technique used the total sampling method with the number of respondents 20 people. This study uses the paired t-test hypothesis test.The results showed that the level of knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance before counseling had low criteria (10%), moderate (80%), and (10%) high, and after counseling had high criteria (100%). At the same time, the level of tooth brushing behavior before counseling had low criteria. (5%), moderate (85%) and (10%) high, and after counseling, the criteria were high (100%). There is a significant difference between the level of knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance and tooth brushing behavior before and after being given counseling using video media with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05).

Predictive maintenance, driven by advanced technologies, has emerged as a cornerstone in achieving these goals. This research focuses on the application of deep learning techniques for fault detection in mechanical systems, presenting a novel approach to predictive maintenance in manufacturing environments. The study begins by providing an overview of the challenges associated with traditional maintenance practices, emphasizing the limitations in detecting and addressing mechanical faults before they escalate. The introduction of predictive maintenance harnesses the power of data-driven insights to enable timely and cost-effective interventions. In this context, deep learning, a subset of artificial intelligence, has proven to be highly effective in handling complex patterns and nonlinear relationships within mechanical system data.[1] The core of the research involves the development and implementation of deep learning models tailored for fault detection in manufacturing machinery. The models are trained on historical data encompassing various operational scenarios and fault conditions. The utilization of deep neural networks allows the system to learn intricate patterns indicative of impending faults, offering a level of precision unattainable through traditional methods. The findings of this research contribute to the growing body of knowledge in predictive maintenance, offering valuable insights into the application of deep learning for fault detection in manufacturing. As industries increasingly embrace smart manufacturing paradigms, the adoption of advanced technologies like deep learning becomes imperative for maintaining a competitive edge through optimized operational efficiency and reduced downtime.

A Hybrid Renewable Energy (Solar/Wind/Biomass) and Multi-Use System Principles, Types, and Applications: A Review

Benefiting from renewable energy (RE) sources is an economic and environmental necessity, given that the use of traditional energy sources is one of the most important factors affecting the economy and the environment. This paper aims to provide a review of hybrid renewable energy systems (HRESs) in terms of principles, types, sources, hybridization methods, cost of unit energy produced, and applications. The works were reviewed for HRESs with and without energy storage. The results can be summarized as follows: It is noted from the studies that Greenius, SAM, HOMER, and TRNSYS were often used in simulating, designing, evaluating, and optimizing these systems. There is often a difference in the economic and environmental indicators between different projects due to the type, fraction, price of energy and components, and efficiency of RE sources. All the studies showed that there are environmental benefits from hybrid systems, not only compared with conventional energy systems but also with RE systems with a single source. All of the related studies showed that hybridization between biomass and concentrated solar energy (biomass-CSP) presents a promising option for producing thermal energy and electricity, and this option also provides a solution for environmental problems related to waste biomass, such as municipal solid waste and wastewater and many industrial wastes, and provides high-quality fertilizers for agriculture. In addition, the multi-use of HRESs increases the economic and environmental benefits, which makes these systems more sustainable. There are various options available for hybridizing RE sources, particularly in the context of energy source integration. The selection of the appropriate options depends on several factors: system type, size of the system, type of energy needed, availability and prices of RE sources, technical knowledge, and experience in operation and maintenance. Several parameters play a crucial role in evaluating HRESs: system makeup and capacity, the fractions of RE in the overall energy produced, efficiency, investment, and energy costs, technical knowledge requirements, and environmental effects.

Effectiveness of Animated Video Media in Enhancing Oral Health Knowledge Among Children with Intellectual Disabilities: A Quasi-Experimental Study

Background: Children with intellectual disabilities often face lower oral healthcare knowledge levels than their typically developing peers. This disparity arises from intellectual limitations and adaptive functioning challenges. Effective educational tools are crucial to improving the oral health knowledge of children with intellectual disabilities, and one such tool is animated video media.
 Method: This study employed a quasi-experimental design, with a purposive sample of 32 respondents. The independent variable was the delivery of oral health education through animated video media, while the dependent variable was the knowledge of oral health maintenance. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Statistical analysis involved the Wilcoxon signed rank test and the Mann-Whitney test.
 Result: Prior to the educational intervention using animated video media, the average knowledge score regarding oral health maintenance was 4.06. Following the intervention, the average score significantly increased to 9.62. Additionally, the distribution of the difference between the treatment and control groups in terms of oral health knowledge showed a mean difference of 24.25 compared to 8.75. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the treatment and control groups (P=0.000).
 Conclusion: This study demonstrates the effectiveness of animated video media in significantly improving oral health knowledge among children with intellectual disabilities. The findings underscore the potential of multimedia educational tools to bridge knowledge gaps and enhance oral health outcomes in this vulnerable population.
