This is an exciting time to be a physiologist and to be taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Physiology (JP). I would first like to thank publicly William Large, my predecessor, for all his hard work as an editor, and his innovative leadership over the last 5 years as Editor-in-Chief.
