Grammatical Analysis of the Quality of Abdi Dalem's Written Language Variety of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, Indonesia

Abdi Dalem is the King's Assistant at the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, Indonesia, which has a special variety of written language. This research aims to formulate the variety of Abdi Dalem written language in the kedhaton (inner core) environment of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace as well as grammatical analysis to improve the quality of the variety of written language. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The form of this research data is a variety of Abdi Dalem written language in the kedhaton (inner core) environment of the palace in the form of regulations, bulletins, official letters and Abdi Dalem training books. The data were collected by identifying the places and samples, reviewing related literature, reviewing various written languages, and doing an interview. Data analysis techniques are describing Abdi Dalem, linguistic analysis of Abdi Dalem's written language, and data interpretation. The results of the research show that the variety of Abdi Dalem's official written language consists of 1) the Bagongan variety of Javanese, 2) Indonesian. The grammatical inaccuracy of Abdi Dalem's variety of written language consists of 1) Bagongan lexicon inaccuracy, 2) New Javanese vocabulary inaccuracy, 3) inaccuracy in the use of the New Javanese Ngoko (N) affix, 4) spelling inaccuracy. With this grammatical analysis, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of Abdi Dalem Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace's variety of written language.

Pemanfaatan Teknologi Penampungan Air Hujan Antisipasi Kekeringan di Desa Pringombo, Kabupaten Gunungkidul

Abstract — Pringombo Village is a village located in Rongkop District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This village has an area of ​​1,431.42 km2 and has a total population of 755,977 people. The distance from this village to the town of Wonosari is 27.3 km. Pringombo Village is located in Rongkop District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. The origin of the name Pringombo Village comes from the Javanese ngoko language, namely Pringamba which means Broad Bamboo. This village has a variety of potential ranging from the potential for agricultural products, arts and others. However, apart from its potential, there are findings that most areas in Gunung Kidul are difficult to access water, including Pringombo village. Therefore, the people of Pringombo Village need a solution to be able to help meet their water needs for their daily needs.

Cultural Acculturation in Tourist Villages Against the Yogyakarta Prawirotaman Community

Cultural acculturation can cause various forms of change and impact on society. The aim of this study. First, to analyze the process of cultural acculturation in the tourist village of Prawirotaman towards the community. Second, to find out the impact of cultural acculturation that has occurred on the people in the Prawirotaman tourist village. This study uses a qualitative method. This research was conducted in Prawirotaman Village, Brontokusuman Village, Mergangsan Kemantren from January to March 2023. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation and documentation to obtain the desired data. The number of research subjects is 7 (seven) people. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data was carried out using data triangulation techniques. Research result. First, the process of cultural acculturation in the tourist village of Prawirotaman towards the community is a) The change of the batik village into a tourist village. b) Traditional houses turned into inns, hotels, restaurants and cafes. c) Kromo Inggil language which changed to Indonesian and Javanese Ngoko. d) Reduced mutual respect. e) Indigenous culture and traditions are still maintained. Second, the impact is a) Increasing the economy in society. b) Marriage between natives and tourists. c) Changes in behavior towards society, d) Structural changes. e) The relationship between natives and tourists is very good.

The Ngoko Javanese Stemmer uses the Enhanced Confix Stripping Stemmer Method

Stemming is vital in text processing. The stemming that is most often encountered is Indonesian and English stemming. This is because more articles are processed in text processing in English and Indonesian. Indonesia has several regional languages, especially local school content, often used in learning. Therefore, research is needed to process Javanese language texts to make it easier for education practitioners, especially in Ngoko Javanese. Ngoko Javanese stemming, which still uses the affix removal stemmers method (rule-based approach) in previous research. Has a problem, namely the lack of success of this method when returning the root words of Ngoko Javanese, so it is necessary to check the Ngoko Javanese dictionary so that the results of the root words obtained are maximized. This study aims to conduct stemmer research on Ngoko Javanese using the Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS) method. This stemmer is designed to do word splitting according to the Enhanced Confix Stripping algorithm and through checking the dictionary adapted to the Ngoko Javanese language. The results of this study are the ability to extract essential words in Javanese Ngoko to achieve a level of truth in returning root words reaching 97 percent.

Dampak Penggunaan Gadget terhadap Kemampuan Interaksi Sosial Siswa pada Pembelajaran IPS Kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Jatigunung

The number of gadget users in elementary school students has recently increased. If this habit is sustainable, it can make students social interaction skills decrease. This study aims (1) to determine the gadget users for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Jatigunung, (2) students’ social interaction skills in social studies subjects for class IV SD Negeri 1 Jatigunung, and (3) the impact of using gadgets on students social interaction skills in social studies learning for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Jatigunung. The type of research was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study on fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Jatigunung, are as follows: (1) Grade IV students with a total of 26 students, including smartphone users; (2) the social interaction ability of fourth grade students during social studies learning in class is low; (3) The gadget users on students has a negative impact on students social interaction skills in social studies learning. The negative impacts were the unpolite students speaking to their teachers in less refined language (Javanese ngoko), students less confidence, students do not interact with friends, and students less focus when given the theory.

Ragam Penggunaan Bahasa dalam Rapat dan Arisan Karang Taruna AMOEBA di Yogyakarta: Perspektif Sosiopragmatik

This study aims to analyze the variation of language used in AMOEBA (Bajang Youth and Youth Generation) meetings and social gatherings in Pandak, Bantul, and Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The data was obtained from the recordings made at the wedding ceremony of a community in Bantul Regency. According to Scarlet, the speech act analysis in this study is based on the speech act theory. This research produces written data. The results of the study show that the use of language found in the AMOEBA hamlets of Daleman, Gilangharjo, Pandak, and Bantul are as follows; (1) Switching external codes from Javanese to Indonesian; (2) switching extercodescode from Arabic to Indonesian; (3) internal code-switching from Javanese ngoko to Javanese krama; (4) mix code into; (5) mix the code out; (6) and speech acts which are dominated by the presence of illocutionary speech acts, in the form of expressive speech acts and directive speech acts. Based on the sociopragmatic analysis, the use of the language is strongly influenced by the social conditions of the speaking community, both age, kinship, and the same language, because they live in the same area

The Cultural Pluralism Reflected in Language Choice (A case study of Girl dormitory of Nurul Huda)

This study aims to find out the language choice that is used by students (santri) in the girl dormitory (asrama putri)Nurul Huda Sukaraja OKU Timur and factors that support using these languages. This study is an ethnography that belongs to qualitative research. In this study, the researcher has a role as an instrument to collect the data. The data are collected through observation and field notes toward utterances produced by students in their daily life communication. The result shows that there are some kinds of language used by students in the girl dormitory. They are standard Indonesian and nonstandard Indonesian language, Javanese kromo and Javanese ngoko and Komering. Each language has its situation to be used by all students. And most of the students use nonstandard Indonesian and Javanese ngoko in most of the daily life communication.

Zhawahir al-Azdawajiyyah al-Lughawiyyah fi Ittishalat Jamaáh al-Árb fi Indunisiyya (Dirasah al-Halah bi Malang Jawa al-Syarqiyyah)

This research aims to describe and classify the language used by Arab Embong Community in their daily life. Language and society always influence each other. The development of language is also along with the development of society. Therefore the study of sociolinguistics as a scientific discipline in which studying language in relation to society is always interesting. The problem in this study is the language used by Embong Arab Community which is an immigrant Arab Community in Malang. This was a field research with a qualitative descriptive method which was investigated using the Diglossia theory. The methods of data collection were observation and interview. The results of this research indicated that the Embong Arab community used three languages, namely Fusha and Amiyah Arabic, Indonesian and Javanese. The three languages were used interchangeably according to the purpose of communication. Fusha Arabic, as the official and unifying language among Arabs, was rarely spoken. They preferred to choose Amiyah Arabic to communicate as a non-standard language variety. However, their Amiyah language was different from the Yemeni Arabs in general. This was due to their long-standing interactions with the local population. The unique thing was that even though they were of Arab descent, due to their high level of interactions with the local population, they often used non-formal Indonesian and Javanese Ngoko in their daily lives. So there were two varieties of diglossia in Embong Arab Community, namely high level language consisting of Fusha Arabic and formal Indonesian and low level language consisting of Amiyah Arabic, non-formal Indonesian and Javanese Ngoko).

Developing Story Book with Pictures to Increase Javanese Skill Ngoko Alus in Early Childhood

The lack of knowledge on the use of Javanese language that is not in accordance with unggah-ungguh, has an impact on the future of the language itself. Therefore, it is important to teach unggah-ungguh, from childhood by doing habituation. This research develops story book in Javanese Ngoko Alus or everyday language. The purpose of this research is to describe the feasibility of picture story books to improve the Javanese language skills of Ngoko Alus in children aged 5 – 6 years. This study uses a research and development method with the ADDIE research model. This study uses observation and questionnaires conducted online via Google form as data collection techniques. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the feasibility assessment from media experts got a percentage of 88% and material experts got a percentage of 86%, the percentage value was in the very feasible category. The results of the research data obtained from trials to kindergarten teachers in Mojokerto regency, 20 people get a percentage of 85.2%, the percentage value is in the very feasible category. It can be concluded that the Ngoko Alus Javanese picture story book media is feasible to use in learning Javanese.=

Imperative Sentences in Java Ngoko in North Sumatra

This study uses a qualitative method. Qualitative method is a method that uses descriptive methods to describe data by describing related events both in writing and verbally. The research procedure consists of three stages, namely the stage of data collection, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis. The method used in data collection is the method of observing. The technique used in data collection is a free-to-conversation listening technique by observing and recording data in the form of imperative sentences in the Ngoko Javanese language in North Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to increase knowledge and increase understanding of language command sentences Java Ngoko in North Sumatra. The source of the data in this research is the people in Bandar Tengah village, Bandar Khalipa h, North Sumatra as speakers of the Javanese Ngoko language. Based on the results of the study, imperative sentences in Javanese. Ngoko contain the intent to command, prohibit, invite, order repeatedly, invite, request, be angry, and ask for help.

Efforts to Maintain Javanese Language in the Middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the Surakarta Community, Central Java

In the XXI century, 50% of the world's regional languages will be extinct. Several experts are explaining that there are regional languages that become extinct every week. Does research need to be conducted to answer questions, such as how far can the Javanese language survive? What are the efforts? Does the covid-19 pandemic situation influence the preservation of the Javanese language? To answer these questions, this study uses observation and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that (1) Javanese Krama is almost extinct, (2) Javanese Ngoko still exists, (3) the existence of Javanese is threatened, (4) children (toddlers) have very little knowledge of Javanese. Meanwhile, strategies used to maintain the Javanese language through (a) education (formal and non-formal), (b) family networks, (c) continuing to teach children to speak Javanese, (c) through various competitions arts/culture (Kirab Budaya (Cultural Carnival), Geguritan, Macapatan, etc.), (d) through training (Gamelan, Karawitan, etc.), (e) exemplary from community leaders (Basa Tulodho), (f) via radio (RRI) and television through Javanese cultural shows (Wedangan, Klenengan, Kembang Setaman, etc.), (g) through printed media (Jawi book) containing Javanese norms/customs, (h) programs/policies from the Department of Tourism and Culture, (i) the Covid-19 pandemic affects the efforts made to maintain the Javanese language.

Code Choices Used by the Society in the Event of Halal Bi Halal Tradition: An ethnographic Study in Boyolali 2019

Language, culture, and society are three things that cannot be separated. The intertwining among them are reflected in halal bi halal tradition. This annually tradition mainly uses Javanese language as a main central of social communication. Two common codes that used by the participants in conducting the event are krama and ngoko. The participants when choosing the codes, of course, are influenced by the social factors. Dealing with this, the aim of this study is finding the language choices use and the factors that affect the participants selecting the codes. This ethnographic study used participant observation in collecting the data. Then, the collected data were analyzed by theory of social dimension proposed by Holmes. The results of the study showed that (1) the language choices use are (a) Javanese krama, (b) Javanese ngoko, (c) mixture of Javanese and Arabic, (d) mixture of Javanese, and Arabic, and Indonesian, and (e) Indonesian and Indonesian and (2) the factors that affect the language choices are (a) the social relationship of the participants, (b) the setting of the event, (c) the formality of the vent, and (d0 the function for the event. As a conclusion, code choices that happen in halal bi halal tradition are commonly affected by social factor or nonlinguistic factor.

The Past Forms of Japanese Futsuugo and Javanese Ngoko Lugu: Contrastive Analysis in Sociolinguistics

This paper is based on studying the differences and similarities in the form, structure, and usage of past sentences futsuugo-ngoko lugu in Japanese and Javanese. The study combines a qualitative and sociolinguistically informed comparative method. The data were taken from different sources, namely Shin Suikodenand Jin (a Japanese novel and play respectively), Ketoprak Wiswakarman (a traditional Javanese play), and Panjebar Semangat (a Javanese magazine), and were then analyzed from a contrastive linguistic perspective. Theories on Japanese and Javanese descriptive sentences, namely those of Ishii,[1] Masuoka,[2] Poedjosoedarmo,[3] Sasangka,[4] and Wedhawati,[5] were used. Besides, Djadjasudarma and Citraresmana [6] descriptive-qualitative method, Sanada’s,[7] concept of Sociolinguistics, as well as Tarigan’s,[8] Ishiwata and Takahashi’s,[9] theories of contrastive linguistics were also consulted. The study aimed to describe the differences and similarities in the forms, structures, and usage of past sentences futsuugo-ngoko lugu in Japanese and Javanese based on the dialogues' data. The study concludes that the addressers and addressees' speech levels in the Japanese conversations are those of futsuugo and ngoko lugu, which are comparable in the Javanese.

Part of Speech Tagging for Javanese Language with Hidden Markov Model

Indonesia has many cultures and local language, one of the most is Javanese with the Javanese language. The Javanese language is used in the region of Central Java and East Java, the word structure of the Javanese language has a similar to the Indonesian word class. Part of Speech (POS) Tagging is a process for labeling word classes for each input word that corresponding. POS Tag for Indonesian Language has been done a lot and got very good accuracy with various method application. This study aims to provide the word class label for Javanese language and the datasets used was obtained from online news with Javanese Ngoko language. The method used in this study is the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) with use of the HMM method get the highest accuracy is 96.2 %.

Culture as a Javanese Language Retention Strategy for Women’s Society in Klaten, Central Java

Women are the key to language retention. On the other hand, language is closely related to culture. Then, how can women and their culture maintain their language (read: Javanese)? To discuss this, this paper uses observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The result was, (1) Javanese Krama began to be threatened, both in urban and rural societies in Klaten, (2) Indonesian had begun to urge the existence of Javanese, (3) Javanese Ngoko was still maintained even though the percentage was not too high (under 65%), (4) percentage of language retention in urban women in Klaten, is still relatively better than in rural communities, (5) Javanese language retention strategies are carried out through religious lectures, alms earth traditions, and nyadran (a term for pilgrimage and cleaning the grave).

The Lexical And Phonological Differences Of Javanese In Banyuwangi And Surabaya

Banyuwangi and Surabaya are two areas are interesting to compare in terms of their existence of Javanese ngoko because of their strategic position. The focus of this research is the calculation of lexical differences and phonological difference in Javanese ngoko in Banyuwangi and Surabaya. This research used descriptive method. The data in this research were obtained from Javanese ngoko used by adult. The instrument that was used is Nothofer’s list of questions and modified by Kisyani in 829 word gloss/ phrase. The results of this research are: 1) the largest number of lexical Javanese ngoko usage is in Banyuwangi, while the least is in Surabaya. The lexical differences of Javanese ngoko in Banyuwangi and Surabaya resulted in two dialects. 2) From this research, it was found that there were 18 patterns of phonological differences in Javanese ngoko used by adult.

Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Jawa Ngoko Melalui Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Teknik Bercerita Berpasangan pada Siswa Kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng

The aim of this research was to improve Javanese Ngoko speaking skill of grade IV students of SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng through the implementation of paired storytelling technique. This was a Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted collaboratively with the teacher of grade IV of SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng. This research was conducted in two cycles which consisted of 4 meetings. Each cycle covered the stages of planning, treatment, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 20 students of grade IV of SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng. The source of the data was grade IV students of SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng. The data were collected through spoken tests. The results of the research revealed that awell-implemented of paired storytelling learning technique can improve grade IV students' Javanese Ngoko speaking skill, especially about puppet stories. It was viewed by the improvement of learning in each cycle. The students' learning achievement on Javanese Ngoko speaking skill under the material of puppet stories in cycle Iwas 68.56% and in cycle II was 84.03%. The main obstacle in implementing the paired storytelling technique isthat the students were not used to speak using Javanese Ngoko, especially during the Javanese learning activities. Finally, it could be concluded that a well-implemented of paired storytelling technique could improvethe Javanese Ngoko speaking skill about puppet stories of grade IV students of SD Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng.

Language Code Choice of Male Abdi Dalem of Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat

This research aimed to show the language code choices of male abdi dalem of Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat because each community had its own language code choice in their daily lives, including every individual. This research was a descriptive qualitative study conducted to determine the language code choice of abdi dalem Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. Data were taken using questionnaires. The form of questions used was closed questions to find out the language codes choice. In addition, the open questions were used to find out the reason for selecting particular language codes. The data were in the form of an informant’s answer about the choice of a language code and the reason for the selection. This research conducted in Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat based from UU Republik Indonesia Nomor 13 Tahun 2012 concerning the DIY Specialities. It finds that the use of Javanese Kromo dominates the language code choice used by male abdi dalem. The dominance of the use of Javanese Kromo language is considered to be the most polite language code rather than other languages presented by the researchers in the questionnaires. The next order after Javanese Kromo is Indonesian, Javanese Ngoko, Bagongan, and lastly is a foreign language.

Fenomena Penggunaan Bahasa Arab oleh Masyarakat Keturunan Arab di “Embong Arab” Malang

This study aims to describe the pattern of use of Arabic by the Arab community in the embong Arab, as well as variations and selection of language codes in their communication. Through a sociolinguistic approach, this descriptive study uses two methods, see and competent, to collect data in the form of speech from Arab descendants in embong Arab Malang, then analyze it using the extralingual equivalent method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the Arabic language experienced rapid development due to language contact, which caused interference which resulted in deviations from the standard Arabic rules or fushah. The use of Arabic by the embong Arab community is not monolithic, because Indonesian and Javanese languages ??are also a variation of their language, resulting in mixed code events and code switching as a strategy for using Arabic. Although it is not uncommon to find a single use of language, both Arabic fushah and amiyah, Indonesian, and Javanese Ngoko. Each language variation is used according to the speech situation, speech partners, and speech goals

SISTEM KESANTUNAN SERTA REFLEKSI BUDAYA DARI KOMUNITAS ORANG TUA MURID TIONGHOA SURABAYA DI TBI SURABAYA

This study examines the prevailing politeness system in the Tionghoa parent community students in TBI (The British Institute) Surabaya and the cultural reflection that can be seen from the use of language in the community. The method that was applied in this research is qualitative method. Sources of data in this study were taken from conversation recordings among the informants. Meanwhile, the theory used in the research was the theory of politeness system formulated by Scollon and Scollon (2001). The results of this study indicated that the system of politeness adopted by the Tionghoa parent community of students in TBI Surabaya was a system of solidarity politeness. In this system of politeness there was no difference in distance and power among members of the community. In addition, the Tionghoa parent community in TBI Surabaya also had a distinctive feature of using the language; there was a mixing of Javanese Ngoko, Indonesian and Hokkien dialect, Mandarin as linguistic markers that distinguished their language use from the indigenous people of Surabaya. Moreover, cultural reflection resulting from the use of mixed language between Javanese Ngoko and Hokkien dialect showed that there is an egalitarian system applied in the community.
