Urgensi Pelaksanaan Islamic Corporate Governance (Suatu Kajian Studi Literatur Pada Lembaga Keuangan Syariah)

Basically, companies and Islamic financial institutions are required to apply the principles of good governance. However, fraud in companies and institutions often occurs and cannot be avoided. In practice, Islamic banks still use the same principles as conventional institutions. This research is a literature study on the implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance in Islamic Financial Institutions, so that it can be seen what discussion has been researched and what discussion needs to be researched. This study uses a qualitative approach. There are 9 articles published in 2018 to 2022 which are grouped into three topics of discussion, namely: 1) Implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance in Islamic Banks, 2) Implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance in Non-Bank Institutions and 3) Implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance associated with Islamic Social Responsibility . Implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance in Islamic Banks is the most articles with a presentation of 44.4%. While the least discussed article is the Implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance associated with Islamic Social Responsibility, with a presentation of 22.2% of the overall theme of the Urgency of Implementing Islamic Corporate Governance in Islamic Financial Institutions. Discussions that need to be examined, such as: Islamic Corporate Governance principles that are in accordance with sharia and different from Corporate Governance principles in general are implemented in conventional institutions

Islamic Social Responsibility and Islamic Corporate Governance in Influence Financial Performance Using Sharia Conformity and Profitability

This study aims to examine and analyze the relationship between Islamic Social Responsibility (ISR) and Islamic Corporate Governance (ICG) on financial performance using Sharia Conformity and Profitability (SCnP). The research population is Sharia Commercial Banks registered with the Financial Services Authority in 2017-2022, totaling 13 Sharia Commercial Banks selected using a purposive sampling method with certain criteria. Regression factor analysis, a hybrid of factor analysis and multiple linear regression, is the data analysis technique used in this study. The results of factor analysis show that each variable's indicator is responsive to the general trend and prepared for additional study. It is possible to conclude that ISR and ICG positively affect the financial labor performance that SCnP has calculated based on the regression analysis of many lines. Sharia banking with strong ISR and ICG reporting will also have strong financial results.

This research aims to determine the influence of liquidity and profitability on the disclosure of Islamic Social Responsibility in Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2019-2021. Using a quantity approach with secondary data, namely the annual financial reports of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2019-2021 period. Determinants of Firm Value: A Study on Islamic Banking in Indonesia

This study attempts to measure the effect of Islamic corporate governance (ICG) and Islamic social responsibility (ISC) on firm value and to analyse the moderation role of profitability. Data from 12 Islamic commercial banks registered in Indonesia were taken from 2017 to 2021 and analyzed using a panel data regression approach with the GLS approach and model robustness testing using the robust least squares analysis method. The results of this study show a positive effect of ICG on firm value and a negative effect of ISC on firm value. The moderation results show that the interaction between profitability and ICG further strengthens the ICG effect on firm value. The results also reveal a negative effect of profitability on the effect of ISC on firm value. This paper discusses the implications of this research for the existing literature, practitioners, and policymakers.

Factors Affect the Disclosure of Islamic Social Reporting at Sharia Commercial Banks

Today the credit of the sharia bank is based on its social activity, which impacts its economic activities. The study analyzes factors that affect Islamic social inequality in the sharia bank at IDX. The research uses the secondary data of the annual report with a sample of 4 buses going public in 2018-2020. A non-sampling sample with a saturated sample type uses the sample retrieval technique. The data analysis method used is the regression test panel using the Eviews software 10. The results of this study indicate that good corporate governance and exposure variables do not significantly affect Islamic Social Reporting (ISR), with variable corporate size affecting Islamic Social Reporting (ISR). In comparison, there is simultaneously no influence between affirmative governance variables, exposure media, and the firm's size On Islamic Social Reporting (ISR). The implications of this research are expected to be able to provide theoretical contributions related to the disclosure of Islamic social responsibility. They are useful in providing input for policymakers and regulators on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

The mediating effect of Islamic ethical identity disclosure on financial performance

Purpose – The present study examines the impact of Islamic corporate governance and social responsibility on financial performance.Methodology – The study was designed with a quantitative approach. Purposive sampling was used in this study. Data were garnered through panel data from annual reports on Islamic banking in Indonesia and Malaysia from 2018 to 2020. The data were analyzed employing the Path Analysis.Findings – Study findings demonstrate that Islamic social responsibility and corporate governance did not significantly impact financial performance. Additionally, disclosing its Islamic ethical identity, Islamic corporate governance had a substantial impact on financial performance. Islamic social responsibility, however, had no impact on financial performance when Islamic ethical identity was disclosed.Implication – The findings offer empirical insights for managing Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia to elevate the application of Islamic corporate governance and social responsibility. This transparently demonstrates the quality of governance and social responsibility of Islamic banking with the disclosure of Islamic ethical identity following the standards applied by Islamic banking affecting stakeholder satisfaction.Originality – This research contributes significantly to the realm of Islamic banking management. It examines the level of stakeholder satisfaction through the enactment of Islamic corporate governance as a form of supervision of management performance, Islamic social responsibility as a form of corporate concern for the surrounding environment and Islamic ethical identity disclosure to promote the image of Islamic banking.

Analysis of Company Size and Profitability on Islamic Social Responsibility Disclosure

The aim of this research is to analyze the determinants of Islamic Social Responsibility disclosure, namely company size and profitability. The research sample is 19 mining sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). Data were observed during 2019-2020 using the panel data technique, so that as many as 38 data were observed for analysis. Methods of data analysis with multiple regression analysis techniques. The results of the study show that company size has a significant positive effect on Islamic Social Responsibility, while profitability has no significant effect on Islamic Social Responsibility. Original research regarding CSR disclosure based on Islamic concepts in mining companies which are companies that carry out activities that are very sensitive to environmental pollution. Theoretical research implications regarding the development of CSR disclosure within the framework of the Islamic concept. Then practically it becomes a material consideration for company management to reveal Islamic Social Responsibility information

Determinant Variables that Affect the Financial Performance of Islamic Banking in Indonesia

This study aims to analyze whether there is an influence of Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Social Responsibility, Intellectual Capital, Sharia Bank Indonesia Certificates and Profit Sharing Levels on the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2016-2020 period. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the financial reports of banks, BI and OJK through published institutional reports which were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of the E-Views 10 Program. The results of this study are the variables Islamic corporate governance, Islamic social responsibility, and Islamic corporate governance. intellectual capital, and Bank Indonesia Sharia Certificates partially have no effect on the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2016-2020. while the Profit Sharing Variable has an effect on the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2016-2020. Variables Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Social Responsibility, Intellectual Capital, Bank Indonesia Sharia Certificates and Profit Sharing Levels Simultaneously on the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2016-2020.

The Effect of Islamic Corporate Governance and Maqashid Sharia Index on Firm value with Islamic Social Reporting as a Moderating Variable

The need for organizational governance is currently a major issue in Islamic banks. This is important to increase the profitability of Islamic banks and investor confidence. The research aims to examine the effect of Islamic Corporate Governance and the Maqashid Sharia Index on Firm Value with Islamic social responsibility as a Moderating Variable. The population of this research used all Islamic commercial banks registered with Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The study is explanatory research by selecting samples with the criteria: First, Islamic banks have presented their financial statements from the 2018-2020 period and could be accessed on the official websites of each Islamic bank or other official websites. Second, Islamic commercial banks have published the GCG Statement which can be accessed on the official website of Islamic banks. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that Islamic Corporate Governance and the Maqashid Sharia Index have a positive and insignificant effect on firm value. However, these results proved that ISR was able to moderate the relationship between Islamic Corporate Governance and the Maqashid Sharia Index with firm value.

Düzenleyici Değişken Olarak İslami Sosyal Sorumluluk (ISS) Açıklamalarıyla Banka Sağlamlık Oranının Kârlılığa Etkisi

This study aims to identify and examine the impact of the Bank's health ratio on the profits of Islamic commercial banks, taking into account Islamic social responsibility as a mitigating variable in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia. The type of study used in this study was a descriptive quantitative approach measured using the data-driven panel method using the Software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0. Methods for data collection using documentation methods. The study population consisted of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia registered with OJK and BNM from 2017 to 2020. The results showed that NPFs had a significant negative impact on profitability, for example, proximity to ROA. THE CAR does not have a significant or partial impact on profitability, for example, proximity to ROA. NIM has a significant positive effect partially individually on profitability as proxied by ROA. GCG has no partial or individual significant effect on the ROA variable. Disclosure of Islamic Social Responsibility is able to moderate and significantly strengthen the effect of NPF on the ROA variable. Islamic Social Responsibility disclosure is able to moderate the effect of CAR but is not significant on the ROA variable. Islamic Social Responsibility disclosure is able to moderate the effect of NIM but not significant on the variable. Islamic Social Responsibility disclosure is able to moderate the influence of GCG but is not significant on ROA.

FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE, SHARIA SUPERVISORY BOARD, AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND ITS IMPACT ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT INDONESIAN SHARIA BANK

This study aims to find out how much influence the financial performance, sharia supervisory board, and corporate governance on sharia banking responsibilities in Indonesia. The population in this study is all Sharia banks in Indonesia from 2015 to 2019. In contrast, the samples in this study were determined by purposive sampling, so 14 samples were obtained. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from www.bi.go.id. Based on the results of financial performance research, it does not influence social responsibility, the sharia supervisory board does not affect social responsibility, and partially there is a positive and significant influence between corporate governance on Islamic social responsibility in sharia banking in the period 2015-2019.

Examining the Model of Islamic Bank Profitability: The Roles Islamic Social Responsibility, Firm Size, Leverage, and Board Size

AbstractPurpose - Profitability is very essential for the Islamic banking industry to maintain a sustainable business at a global level. However, until now Islamic banking has not been able to generate profitability competitiveness against conventional banking. Meanwhile, the increased awareness of the importance of business social responsibility has led to increased attention towards social responsibility based on Islamic values (known as Islamic Social Responsibility) since it is believed to be able to boost the profitability of Islamic banking. This study aims to reveal the effect of firm size, leverage, and board size on Islamic social responsibility and the role of Islamic social responsibility in mediating the influence of these three factors on the profitability of Islamic bankingMethodology - Observing 14 Islamic banks in Indonesia, this study used SEM-PLS for data analysis. Findings - The results show that board size has a positive effect on Islamic social responsibility while Islamic social responsibility itself has a positive effect on the profitability of Islamic banking. In addition, Islamic social responsibility can play a good role in linking firm size, board size, and leverage with the profitability of Islamic banking. Characteristics of the Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) And Investment Account Holders (IAH) To Islamic Social Responsibility Disclosure (ISRD) In Islamic Banks

This study was conducted to examine the effect of education level on Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB), financial and non-financial SSB, and Investment Account Holders (IAH) on Islamic Social Responsibility Disclosure (ISRD) using the control variable of firm size. The object of the research is Islamic banks in the four countries with the highest percentage of poor people in the selected regional division of Asia and Europe, namely Indonesia (Southeast Asia), Bangladesh (South Asia), Jordan (West Asia), and Turkey (Southeast Europe) which publish annual reports in 2013-2019. The results showed that SSB education level and firm size had a positive effect on ISRD, while financial and non-financial fields had no effect on ISRD. Meanwhile, IAH has a negative effect on ISRD. Practically, this research can provide consideration and input for Islamic Bank regulators in evaluating existing regulations. Future research is expected to add proxies for SSB characteristics and other variables in testing the effect of Islamic bank ISRD quality

Study of the perception of external auditors on the disclosure of ISR (Islamic Social Responsibility) in Islamic banking in Indonesia

This study aims to determine how the perception of external auditors in disclosing ISR (Islamic Social Responsibility) in Islamic banking in Indonesia. Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) from 2013-2016 was 87.50% which revealed 42 of the 48 ISR index items by Bank Muamalat Indonesia in 2013, 2014 and 2016 and Bank Syariah Mandiri in 2013 and 2016. Meanwhile, the value of minimum ISR disclosure of 52.10% which revealed 25 of the 48 ISR index items by BCA Syariah in 2013 and 2014).

The Effect of Islamic Corporate Governance, Sharia Compliance, Islamic Social Responsibility on the Profitability of Sharia Banks

<div class="WordSection1"><p class="abstrak">The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Islamic Corporate Governance, Sharia Compliance and Islamic Social Responsibility on the profitability of Commercial Bankings (BUS) in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with samples of 12 BUS in the 2017-2020 period. The model used as an analytical tool is multiple regression analysis. Data processing in this study using SPSS 16.0. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously the variables Islamic Corporate Governance, Sharia Compliance (IsIR, PSR and ZPR) and Islamic Social Responsibility have a significant effect on Profitability (ROA) of SUB in Indonesia, while partially Islamic Corporate Governance has a negative and significant effect on Profitability (ROA), Sharia Compliance as measured by PSR has a positive and significant effect on Profitability, Sharia Compliance as measured by IsIR and ZPR has no significant effect on Profitability, and Islamic Social Responsibility has no significant effect on Profitability.</p><p class="abstrak"><em>Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh Islamic Corporate Governance, SC dan Islamic Social Responsibility terhadap Profitabilitas (ROA) BUS di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan populasi seluruh BUS di Indonesia dalam periode 2017-2020. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Sampel yang memenuhi kriteria sebanyak 12 BUS dari total 14 BUS di Indonesia. Model yang digunakan sebagai alat analisis adalah analisis regresi berganda. Pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan alat bantu SPSS 16.0 Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama variabel Islamic Corporate Governance, Sharia Compliance (IsIR, PSR dan ZPR) dan Islamic Social Responsibility bepengaruh signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas pada BUS di Indonesia, sedangkan secara parsial Islamic Corporate Governance bepengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas (ROA), Sharia Compliance yang diukur dengan PSR berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas, Sharia Compliance yang diukur dengan IsIR dan ZPR tidak berpengaruh terhadap Profitabilitas dan Islamic Social Responsibility tidak berpengaruh terhadap Profitabilitas.</em></p></div>

Do board attributes influence Islamic social responsibility disclosure? Evidence from Indonesian sharia banking

Purpose - This study aims to analyze further the disclosure of Islamic Social Responsibility (ISR) on board size, board independence, board diversity, and board activity.Method - This study uses quantitative methods and multiple linear regression analysis. This study uses a sample of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia, which consistently reports from 2016 to 2019. The research sample is 13 Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. The data analysis technique used a multiple linear regression test.Result - The results show that only board diversity can affect ISR disclosure, while the variable board size, board independence, and board activity cannot affect ISR disclosure. This study has an adjusted R square of 53.3%.Implication - This study recommends Islamic banking to increase the role of the board of directors to encourage ISR disclosure because the company's concern for social and environmental conditions can increase corporate value.Originality - In Indonesia, there are still not many researchers who have studied the attributes of the board and the disclosure of ISR. This research is expected to provide broader knowledge about the board's attributes in voluntary disclosure in the banking sector.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY DISCLOSURE OF ISLAMIC BANKING IN SOUTHEAST ASIA BASED ON ISLAMIC SOCIAL REPORTING INDEX

The study aims to analyze how the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Islamic banking in southeast Asia based on the Islamic Social Responsibility Index. This study uses secondary data obtained from the annual report of Islamic banking in Southeast Asia which has been published for the period of 2020. The method used in this study is content analysis of the annual reports of Islamic banking. The results of this study indicate that the disclosure of CSR in Islamic banking in Southeast Asia in general has made quite informative disclosed. The disclosure of CSR has not fully implemented the Islamic Social Reporting Index with AAOIFI standards. This is due to the large number of disclosures of social performance in Islamic banking which refers to the Global Reporting Index.

RETRACTED: Effect of Islamic Financial Development on Carbon Emissions: A Spatial Econometric Analysis

In this research, data from 36 countries from 2013 to 2018 were used to examine the factors influencing CO2 emissions in Islamic countries, focusing on the impact of Islamic financial growth. The spatial econometric technique estimation findings indicate that there is no geographical association between CO2 emissions in the analyzed countries. The test findings establish the existence of the Kuznets hypothesis for the environment. Additionally, trade openness and increased energy usage have resulted in an increase in CO2 emissions. The impacts of traditional financial development factors, such as financial market and financial institution variables, were examined in this research. The findings indicate that the two variables have no direct and substantial influence on CO2 emissions and that their significant effect on CO2 emissions appears only when their nonlinear and spillover effects on energy consumption and economic growth are included. Additionally, the growth of financial institutions is inversely proportional to the intensity of carbon emissions. The results indicate that while the development of financial markets and institutions results in a significant increase in CO2 emissions, the negative coefficient of the interaction between financial development and energy consumption indicates that financial development ensures energy efficiency, which reduces the intensity of carbon emissions. The findings indicate that the expansion and depth of Islamic finance, as measured by total assets, asset quality, earnings, and efficiency of Islamic banks, can result in a nonlinear increase in CO2 emissions with a U-shaped relationship. The study of spillover effects demonstrates that in addition to their direct and positive effects on CO2 emissions, the increase in Islamic social responsibility and consumer education, and awareness about Islamic banking reduce the enhancing effects of energy consumption on greenhouse gas emissions.

Analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja keuangan Bank Umum Syariah

This study aims to examine how much Intellectual Capital, Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Social Responsibility, Islamic Ethical Identity, and Zakat can affect Islamic commercial banks' financial performance. The population in this study is Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. The method of determining the sample using the purposive sampling method. The data used is secondary data. Hypothesis testing is done by using multiple regression analysis techniques. The study results indicate that Intellectual Capital and Islamic Ethical Identity affect financial performance. Islamic Corporate Governance does not affect Financial Performance, Islamic Social Responsibility, Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Social Responsibility, and Zakat does not affect Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks. Simultaneously, these independent variables have a positive and significant influence on the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks.

ANALISIS CAR DAN ISR TERHADAP ROA PERBANKAN SYARIAH YANG TERDAFTAR DI JII PERIODE 2015-2019

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio and Islamic Social Responsibility on Return on Assets both in terms of partial and simultaneous testing. Collecting data in this study is to use secondary data from the financial statements of Islamic companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index. By using two blades of analysis, namely simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of simple regression analysis, it is known that partially CAR affects ROA and partially ISR affects ROA. Then simultaneously CAR and ISR influence ROA. Therefore, the role of profit in the company has an influential role, because the main objective of the company's operations is to achieve maximum profit. Information on profit achievement is not only useful for external parties such as the public as users of Islamic financial institutions as service companies and internal parties as parties who carry out or run the company in order to determine steps how to run the company to make a profit.
