Education Communicator, Bersatu-Manggurebe Moves Forward After the COVID-19 Pandemic in Maluku Province

This study aims to analyze how the role of teachers, united-manggurebe progresses in implementing the “triangle of support” learning system development model in the post-Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative approach with an interactive analysis model combination analysis technique. The research targets are the education office, elementary school principals, junior and senior high school teachers, parents, and students. Primary data, namely the main data in the study, were collected through in-depth interviews with expert informants and casual informants, while secondary data were obtained through reviewed documents and various literature from related sources. The results showed that the teachers carried out their service duties with the philosophy of “Bersatu, Manggurebe Maju”, post-pandemic with all the limitations of supporting facilities for the distance learning process, believed to be the dynamics of moving forward to achieve the goal that how important the learning process is, in an effort to educate the lives of the nation’s children in Maluku. Empowering Charactered Education: The Impact of Educational Management on Islamic Guidance and Counseling for Vocational High School Students

This research aims to analyse the role of educational management in field of Islamic guidance and counselling in creating character education for students at SMKN 1 Praya. The subjects in this study were school principals, educators, and education staff. While the object used is several students. The approach is qualitative, using a qualitative design and data collection methods including documentation, interviews, and observation. The steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing were all included in the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana for the analysis of the data. The findings indicate that the planning for guidance and counseling services is spot on, that the implementation of the services is carried out by guidance and counseling teachers in accordance with the plan because they are aware of their responsibilities, and that the implementation of the services is program-based. However, certain programs cannot be carried out effectively. It is not ideal for the principals to oversee the guidance and counseling services program. Since character education is not offered in every subject at every educational institution, this study differs from earlier studies in the field. The study's findings can serve as a guide for character development in all educational settings, particularly when it comes to practically integrating character education into all subjects and extracurricular activities

Investigating Calcareous and Silica Sand Behavior at Material Interfaces: A Comprehensive Study

Abstract This study centers on the crucial determination of the mobilized friction angle between soil and various materials, including steel and concrete, to enhance the modeling of soil-structure interaction. The primary objective of the current investigation was to assess the interfacial friction between calcareous and silica sands when interacting with concrete or steel surfaces. To achieve this, direct shear tests were conducted to examine the impacts of relative density (Dr), surface roughness (Rn), and shearing direction. The test results reveal that the shear strength of calcareous sand surpasses that of silica sand when considering a specific Rn. Furthermore, the interface friction of both sand types escalates with an increase in normal stress and Rn, with higher values observed in interactions with steel plates. Notably, the friction angle ratio (the interaction friction angle over the pure sand friction angle) demonstrates minimal dependence on the sand type. The most pronounced divergence in the friction angle ratio is evident at the maximum Rn value, which increases alongside Rn values for both calcareous and siliceous sands. With increasing Rn values, the maximum shear strength, contingent on normal stress and relative density, also rises. The influence of relative density on the interaction friction angle diminishes with escalating surface roughness.

The Segment Anything foundation model achieves favorable brain tumor auto-segmentation accuracy in MRI to support radiotherapy treatment planning.

Promptable foundation auto-segmentation models like Segment Anything (SA, Meta AI, New York, USA) represent anovel class of universal deep learning auto-segmentation models that could be employed for interactive tumor auto-contouring in RT treatment planning. Segment Anything was evaluated in an interactive point-to-mask auto-segmentation task for glioma brain tumor auto-contouring in 16,744 transverse slices from 369 MRI datasets (BraTS 2020 dataset). Up to nine interactive point prompts were automatically placed per slice. Tumor boundaries were auto-segmented on contrast-enhanced T1w sequences. Out of the three auto-contours predicted by SA, accuracy was evaluated for the contour with the highest calculated IoU (Intersection over Union, "oracle mask," simulating interactive model use with selection of the best tumor contour) and for the tumor contour with the highest model confidence ("suggested mask"). Mean best IoU (mbIoU) using the best predicted tumor contour (oracle mask) in full MRI slices was 0.762 (IQR 0.713-0.917). The best 2D mask was achieved after amean of 6.6 interactive point prompts (IQR 5-9). Segmentation accuracy was significantly better for high- compared to low-grade glioma cases (mbIoU 0.789 vs. 0.668). Accuracy was worse using the suggested mask (0.572). Stacking best tumor segmentations from transverse MRI slices, mean 3D Dice score for tumor auto-contouring was 0.872, which was improved to 0.919 by combining axial, sagittal, and coronal contours. The Segment Anything foundation segmentation model can achieve high accuracy for glioma brain tumor segmentation in MRI datasets. The results suggest that foundation segmentation models could facilitate RT treatment planning when properly integrated in aclinical application.

Smart modeling of soil-foundation interaction using coupled mechanisms: a numerical framework for liquefaction risk mitigation

This study investigates the impact of nearby structures on the cyclic settlement mechanisms of shallow foundations in liquefiable soils using a numerical model based on Biot’s porous media theory. The model predicts excess pore water pressure and settlement by coupling equilibrium and continuity equations, solved using an implicit time integration scheme. Soil nonlinearity under cyclic loading is represented using generalized plasticity, boundary surfaces, and non-associated models. Three scenarios are simulated to study the effect of spacing between light and heavy foundations and variation in acceleration intensity. Results show that as spacing between foundations increases, lateral displacement and settlement decrease. Excess pore water pressure generation also decreases with increased foundation spacing. Soil just below the foundation exhibits maximum settlement, decreasing with depth. When input acceleration increases from 0.1 g to 0.15 g and 0.2 g, settlement increases by 40%–55% and 90%–110% respectively for both light and heavy foundations, regardless of spacing. Excess pore water pressure also increases sharply with higher acceleration intensity. The findings highlight the importance of considering foundation-soil-foundation interaction effects in liquefaction-prone urban settings and provide insights for designing resilient shallow foundations. The advanced numerical modeling approach offers engineers a more informed way to mitigate liquefaction risk and build safer, more durable structures in earthquake-prone areas.

Science in the Language of the Heart: Ukrainian Language and Literature in the New Ukrainiian School as a Driver of STEM Development

The article outlines the pathways for integrating STEM disciplines into the planning of Ukrainian language and literature lessons in secondary education institutions within the framework of the New Ukrainian School. It substantiates the growing need for interdisciplinary approaches that foster the development of core competencies while considering the advantages, potential risks, and limitations of the proposed methods. The emphasis is placed on the importance of combining humanities with natural and mathematical sciences to enhance students' understanding of a holistic worldview, illustrating the need to avoid focusing solely on one aspect of development (so-called «humanitarians» and «technocrats»). The article offers theoretical and practical recommendations for developing STEM projects that engage students in creative literary exploration through applying scientific principles and doctrines. The effective combination of STEM education principles with the field of philology enables the creation of a dynamic and effective educational environment where students perceive the interconnectedness of knowledge, develop a well-rounded intellect, and receive foundational preparation for higher education. Methods of linguistic analysis of scientific texts are discussed, demonstrating how language skills can be enhanced through scientific discourse. To illustrate the material, approximate schemes for planning integrated lessons with specific examples from both linguistic-literary and scientific perspectives are provided. To improve understanding and engagement of modern students, emphasis is placed on using digital tools and platforms that ensure integration, including online resources, interactive modeling, multimedia content and artificial intelligence. The necessity for alignment among educators of various disciplines is evident to ensure a fair assessment of proficiency in the state language and scientific literacy, which is a crucial issue during wartime when language matters become increasingly prominent, alongside scientific and mathematical literacy, for building an intellectually developed country.

A Cam Clay constitutive relation for semi-analytical elasto-plastic modeling of wheel-soil interaction for fast applications

In this paper, a semi-analytical elasto-plastic (SAEP) model is proposed to simulate wheel motion on soft soil using a Modified Cam Clay (MCC) constitutive model. The focus is on enhancing computational efficiency by integrating the MCC model into the framework. The MCC-based model outperforms the Drucker-Prager with Cap hardening (DPC)-based model in terms of reduced computation time, stability, and convergence. Simulations with a 30% slip ratio show a significant reduction in solution time compared to the DPC-based model. For slip ratios of 50% and 90%, the computation time decreases even further. Overall, the MCC-based model demonstrates over 100 times reduction in the solution time compared to the DPC-based model, particularly with high slip ratios. Indeed, the DPC-based model was found to be highly sensitive to high values of slip ratios, whereas the MCC-based model is not. In comparison with existing methods in the literature, the proposed formulation is superior in terms of significantly reduced solution time and improved numerical stability, making it ideal for advanced applications where fast solutions are crucial.

A STUDY OF JAMBI BATIK ARTISANS IN INNOVATION AND STRATEGIC DECISION-MAKING TO INFLUENCE THE DEVELOPMENT AND RESILIENCE OF THE JAMBI BATIK INDUSTRY

This study investigates Jambi batik artisans' resilience and innovative strategies in overcoming economic challenges and disruption in the textile industry. Using a qualitative approach with data analysis based on Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, the research delves into how these artisans creatively adapt to changing market demands by incorporating alternative materials, eco-friendly dyes, and distinctive local designs to enhance product appeal. The study also explores their marketing strategies, which leverage digital platforms and direct sales at exhibitions, significantly expanding their consumer reach and maintaining competitiveness. This combination of traditional artistry and modern tactics supports the preservation of Jambi's cultural heritage. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to responsible production, decent work, and gender equality. The findings reveal that Jambi batik artisans successfully merge traditional motifs with contemporary styles, allowing them to preserve local identity while meeting evolving consumer preferences. Notably, this research highlights how artisans overcome resource limitations and market fluctuations by engaging in strategic collaborations, fostering community support, and adopting digital innovations to broaden their reach. This study's novelty lies in its focus on the dual role of cultural preservation and sustainable economic practices, offering insights into how traditional industries can thrive in modern contexts. The outcomes emphasize that with strategic innovation, the Jambi batik industry has substantial potential for sustainable growth, presenting a model for other cultural enterprises seeking resilience in the face of globalization and economic challenges.

Prediction of building cooling load: an innovative design for GA-SVM and IG-SVM system for the estimation of hourly precision and computational fluctuation range

ABSTRACT Anticipating the loads that buildings will bear is a crucial strategy in the pursuit of energy efficiency and the reduction of emissions. In this paper, we introduce an interactive and comprehensive joint prediction model, specifically crafted to elevate the precision of forecasts related to building loads. The resultant Genetic Algorithm-Support Vector Machine (GA-SVM) prediction model is put into action to provide hourly predictions of cooling loads for buildings. In scenarios where the prediction of building cooling load (BCL) fluctuations becomes imperative, especially in the face of extreme weather conditions, the information granulation (IG) method is employed. The findings of this validation process unveil significant improvements. The coefficient of variation of root mean square error (CV-RMSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) for the GA-SVM model are reduced by 58.85% and 68.04%, respectively, when compared to the conventional SVM model. Furthermore, in a comparative analysis against three widely utilized prediction models, the SVM model demonstrates a reduction in CV-RMSE and MAPE ranging from 2.04% to 68.04%. The application of the joint prediction model showcases impressive results, with R 2 values ranging from 97.27% to 99.68%, MAPE ranging from 2.59% to 2.84%, and CV-RMSE ranging from only 0.0249 to 0.0319.

A Real-Time and Interactive Fluid Modeling System for Mixed Reality.

Within the realm of mixed reality, the capability to dynamically render environmental effects with high realism plays a crucial role in amplifying user engagement and interaction. Fluid dynamics, in particular, stand out as essential elements for crafting immersive virtual settings. This includes the simulation of phenomena like smoke, fire, and clouds, which are instrumental in enriching the virtual experience. This work showcases a cutting-edge system developed to produce dynamic and interactive fluid effects that mirror real captured data in real-time for mixed reality applications. This innovative system seamlessly incorporates fluid reconstruction alongside velocity estimation processes within the Unity engine environment. Our approach leverages a novel physics-based differentiable rendering technique, grounded in the principles of light transport in participating media, to simulate the intricate behaviors of fluid while ensuring high fidelity in visual appearance. To further enhance realism, we have expanded our framework to include the estimation of velocity fields, addressing the critical need for fluid motion simulation. The practical application of these techniques demonstrates the system's capacity to offer a robust platform for fluid modeling in mixed reality environments. Through extensive evaluations, we illustrate the effectiveness of our approach in various scenes, underscoring its potential to transform mixed reality content creation by providing developers with the tools to incorporate highly realistic and interactive fluid seamlessly.

Using Four-Component Instructional Design to Create an Interactive Point-of-Care Ultrasound Curriculum for Physician Associate Students.

Many physician assistant/associate (PA) programs lack point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) education in the PA curricula and a standardized approach to ultrasound training. The four-component instructional design (4C/ID) model merges 4 concepts for developing effective instructional design content for complex content delivery, such as ultrasound. This research study created an interactive, 2-part ultrasound curriculum with an instructional designer for PA students using the 4C/ID model. Two interactive ultrasound curriculum models were created from the 4C/ID model using a knowledge-based precurriculum quiz, learning tasks with online modules and recordings, part-task practice with ultrasound experts, skills checkoffs, and a postcurriculum quiz including questions on students' perspectives of ultrasound. Two-tailed paired t-test analysis assessed the effectiveness of training. Evaluation of prelearning and postlearning quizzes demonstrated multiple statistically significant assessments supporting the use of instructional design technology for a PA program's ultrasound curriculum. This small study demonstrated that the 4C/ID model may be beneficial for PA POCUS training. The 2-part interactive curriculum improved PA student competency of ultrasound principles and applications and increased confidence for future clinical use of ultrasound.

Constraints on Interacting Dark Energy Models from the DESI Baryon Acoustic Oscillation and DES Supernovae Data

Abstract The recent results from the first-year baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) data released by the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), combined with cosmic microwave background (CMB) and Type Ia supernova (SN) data, have shown a detection of significant deviation from a cosmological constant for dark energy. In this work, we utilize the latest DESI BAO data in combination with the SN data from the full 5 yr observations of the Dark Energy Survey and the CMB data from the Planck satellite to explore potential interactions between dark energy and dark matter. We consider four typical forms of the interaction term Q. Our findings suggest that interacting dark energy (IDE) models with Q ∝ ρ de support the presence of an interaction where dark energy decays into dark matter. Specifically, the deviation from ΛCDM for the IDE model with Q = β H 0 ρ de reaches the 3σ level. These models yield a lower value of Akaike information criterion than the ΛCDM model, indicating a preference for these IDE models based on the current observational data. For IDE models with Q ∝ ρ c, the existence of interaction depends on the form of the proportionality coefficient Γ. The IDE model with Q = β H ρ c yields β = 0.0003 ± 0.0011, which essentially does not support the presence of the interaction. In general, whether the observational data support the existence of interaction is closely related to the model. Our analysis helps to elucidate which type of IDE model can better explain the current observational data.

Strengthening the critical thinking skill through the six-hat thinking model in pancasila education

This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the implementation of Pancasila learning with the goal of improving critical thinking skills through the application of the six thinking hats model. The research adopts a descriptive approach utilizing qualitative methods. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The participants were selected using purposive techniques based on specific criteria and considerations to ensure the collection of targeted information. Specifically, the research focused on students enrolled in the Manufacturing Engineering Class D. Data collection for this study involved the use of observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. To ensure data validity, triangulation techniques were employed by the researchers. Data analysis followed an interactive model based on the framework developed by Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The six thinking hats learning model significantly improved students' critical thinking skills and character values. This approach enables students to approach problems from multiple perspectives, becoming more responsive to social issues and navigating real-world challenges. These fosters heightened awareness of societal matters, enabling students to contribute meaningfully to social progress.

Assessing the influence of self and collective efficacy on volunteering following a natural disaster

Following hurricane Katrina, many New Orleanians evacuated to Baton Rouge. Despite a significant outpouring of assistance, not everyone engaged in pro-social behaviors during this time. Some felt an obligation to help yet failed to donate their time to assist those displaced by the storm. Prior studies have examined pro-social behavior following a natural disaster as a product of self or collective efficacy. Analyzing data from interviews with Baton Rouge area residents two months after Katrina, we explore the role of self and collective efficacy on helping activity and volunteering in shelters for evacuees. This study advances the extant literature by exploring an interactive model to provide a more accurate assessment of how self and collective efficacy work contemporaneously to influence different forms of pro-social behavior. Results suggest the likelihood of helping others or volunteering after a disaster are, in part, dependent on a nuanced combination of self and collective efficacy.

Automated Finite Element Analysis of Stiffened Tanks Using Multifidelity Modeling

Accurate structural analysis of stiffened thin-walled pressure vessels enables critical design decisions to be made during the conceptual and baseline design phases. Furthermore, having multifidelity finite element models that couple shell and solid representations facilitates exploring many design iterations quickly with sufficient accuracy. However, multifidelity model creation and utilization can be cumbersome to perform interactively, such that automated model creation, mesh generation, analysis submission, and results postprocessing are highly desirable. Of particular difficulty is generating multifidelity meshes robustly. A framework for automatic multifidelity model development using parameterized scripting in commercial finite element packages is developed to address these critical modeling needs. Issues associated with automated meshing of highly complex assemblies are examined, and a volume decomposition scheme based upon face partitions is proposed. Application is made to a complex stiffened thin-walled pressure vessel with full shell and solid/shell multifidelity model accuracies assessed by comparison against all solid models. Results indicate the proposed technique’s potential for design iteration improvements with significant reductions in interactive model preparation and postprocessing costs, as well as overall computational effort. Potential novel applications and improvements to the presented framework that can enable its application to complex problems are discussed.

Analysis of the Need for Interactive Multimedia Development for Second Language Learning in Primary Schools

Nowadays, there are still many students who still have difficulty learning a second language—Indonesian, especially in the city of Yogyakarta. Students still have difficulty mastering the system or rules of the language used and understanding the social rules of using a language. The next problem is that students are less able to interact using a second language. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the need for the development of interactive multimedia for second language learning in elementary school. This research is included in the type of qualitative research. The data sources in this study are students and teachers of grade II elementary school in Yogyakarta City. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation sheets, interview guidelines, and documentation equipment. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the Miles Huberman interactive model data analysis technique which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings of this study are that the development of effective and relevant interactive multimedia is needed to facilitate more optimal second language learning in elementary schools. The implication is that the development of interactive multimedia for second language learning in elementary schools is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of education and student learning outcomes.

A deformation-diffusion interactive model to study crack-tip behaviour and predict crack growth rate under fatigue and hydrogen-embrittlement conditions

Hydrogen is accepted as a cleaner and more sustainable energy source, since it carries abundant energy and does not produce any effluent gas from burning when compared to fossil fuels. However, long-term degradation in mechanical properties, attributed to hydrogen embrittlement, is reported for metallic materials exposed to gaseous hydrogen, leading to accelerated crack growth behaviour under fatigue. In this paper, a visco-plastic deformation-diffusion interactive model is developed to study fatigue crack growth behaviour in a nickel-based superalloy under hydrogen-embrittlement condition. In the model, cyclic deformation is described by visco-plasticity constitutive model, while hydrogen diffusion is simulated by a modified form of Fick’s first law of diffusion which can address hydrogen diffusion driven by the hydrostatic stress gradient. In particular, trapped hydrogen, expressed as dependent on both diffusible hydrogen concentration and inelastic strain, is considered in the modelling of hydrogen diffusion. The model also describes the effects of hydrogen concentration on mechanical deformation by considering its influence on the evolution of isotropic hardening as well as on the strain state. Interaction between cyclic deformation and hydrogen diffusion is therefore studied for a crack tip in a compact tension specimen subjected to fatigue and hydrogen attack, showing a strong dependency on both loading frequency and stress intensity factor range. Subsequently, a two-parameter criterion is proposed for fatigue crack growth prediction, which accounts for the contributions of both cyclic deformation and hydrogen diffusion. The predictions show a good agreement with experimental data in terms of crack growth rate under fatigue and hydrogen-embrittlement conditions.

The role of phonological overlap and cognates in dual logographic bilinguals’ phonological processing

Most previous studies on Chinese-Japanese bilingual lexical access have shown that cognates can facilitate L2 Japanese word recognition, and phonological overlap cannot. However, the findings from this research challenge those findings. In this study, both high- and low- proficient JFL (Japanese as a Foreign Language) learners performed phoneme monitoring tasks in their second language. Orthographically similar words with high or low phonological and semantic similarity were fully crossed. Our results suggest that phonological overlap across Chinese and Japanese interferes with phoneme processing speed and accuracy, especially those of the low-proficient JFL learners. Yet as their L2 proficiency improves, this inhibition effect can become smaller. In addition, cognate semantic overlap marginally interacts with L2 proficiency to affect phoneme recognition, though cognates do not directly play a role in phoneme processing. The theoretical implications of our research suggest that phonology functions as a non-selective element in the phonological access phase for bilinguals literate in two logographic languages. Moreover, cross-logographic processing does not conform to the cascading model; instead, it can be more accurately described by the modular or interactive models of bilingual processing.

The Qur'an Learning Strategy in Raudhatul Jannah Majelis Taklim, Kapuk, West Jakarta

Majelis Taklim is a non-formal Islamic educational institution. The primary focus of study in Majelis Taklim is the learning of the Qur’an. Therefore, it is essential to understand effective Qur’anic learning strategies used in Majelis Taklim. This research aims to identify Qur’anic learning strategies. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling data collection techniques. The subject of this research is the Raudhatul Jannah Majelis Taklim in Cengkareng, Kapuk, West Jakarta. The research instruments used include observation and interviews. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, along with the Kaif learning strategy. The findings reveal that MT RJ employs direct learning strategies in Qur’anic instruction. Qur’anic learning at MT RJ focuses on both reading skills and Qur’anic knowledge. The development of Qur’anic reading skills is conducted using the Talaqqi method and the Jama’ model. Meanwhile, Qur’anic knowledge instruction uses the bi al-hikmah method and mau’izah (lecture and discussion) through the Tafahum learning model. Based on observations and interviews, the development of Qur’anic learning strategies at MT RJ is found to be effective.

Analisis Dampak Fatherless Terhadap Etika Remaja Awal di Kecamatan Medang Deras

The purpose of this study is to analyze the negative and positive impact of fatherlessness on the ethics of early adolescents in MedangDeras District. The method used in this study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The selected data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 4 teenagers. Qualitative data analysis The validity of the data is achieved through the application of the source triangulation method. The data analysis used is an interactive analysis model that includes collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the impact of fatherlessness on early adolescent ethics is negative and positive. The negative impact is feeling difficult, lack of emotional control, behavioral deviations, economic problems and feelings of fear. Positive impacts include independent learning, closeness to mothers, increased environmental fit, and responsibility. As a result of fatherlessness, adolescent ethics are declining, making adolescents experience difficulties in socializing, withdrawing, causing aggressive behavior, deviations in dress, and ethical violations in communication.
