Teachers’ Views on the Integration of Information and Communication Technology in the Teaching of Slovene (First Language) in Primary School

<p style="text-align:justify">Information and Communication Technology (ICT) brings modern learning approaches, forms and methods to education, and with them new opportunities for learning and teaching. The use of ICT in the classroom motivates students, enables them to participate, provides individualisation and differentiation, interactivity, and encourages creativity and critical thinking. Teachers play a very important role in this, as they are the ones who can provide students with a stimulating learning environment, including through the use of ICT. As Slovene (first language) is the subject with the most teaching hours in public primary schools in the Republic of Slovenia, we conducted an empirical study on the views of general and subject teachers of Slovene (N = 190) on the integration of information and communication technology in teaching. Teachers’ opinions were investigated through quantitative research. We found that teachers frequently use ICT in Slovene lessons, namely for repeating and consolidating learning material and for presenting new learning material, and that ICT is used most often in frontal forms of learning. Teachers mostly use LCD projectors, computers, interactive whiteboards, e-workbooks, audio recordings and videos. We also found that teachers are moderately satisfied with the available ICT equipment and e-materials, and that they feel moderately competent when it comes to using ICT in Slovene lessons. Teachers also used ICT during the COVID-19 epidemic. We also found that there are no statistically significant differences in the use of ICT between teachers teaching Slovene according to their teaching level, age and years of service.</p>

Exploring the Landscape of Challenges and Opportunities in Teaching Speaking Skills

Speaking skills are defined as the skills which involve guiding learners to articulate thoughts coherently, express ideas fluently, and communicate effectively in spoken language through various interactive and engaging activities. As communication has become increasingly pivotal in the globalized landscape, the demand for effective speaking proficiency is more prominent than ever. The prime objective of writing this review article is to explore major challenges, and opportunities in teaching speaking skills in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). In pursuit of this objective, extensive reviews and analyses of related materials from books, journal articles, and online resources have been undertaken. This article concludes that pronunciation, vocabulary building, fluency, grammar and syntax, listening skills and interactive activities are the aspects of teaching speaking skills, and learners’ anxiety and shyness, large class sizes, lack of teacher expertise, limited exposure and sources, lack of practice opportunities, diverse student needs, inadequate pronunciation correction, etc. are major challenges. Concurrently, authentic communication tasks, technology integration, peer interaction and collaborative activities, self-assessment and reflection, enhanced communication skills, real-life application, increased language proficiency, critical thinking and problem-solving, building confidence, career advancement, global communication, student engagement, etc. are prominent opportunities within the teaching of speaking skills. The findings of this study have implications for EFL teachers, teachers and curriculum designers who aim to enhance the quality of speaking skills in EFL contexts.

Teaching Competence and Information and Communication Technology Integration (ICT) of Private Schools in Davao City

The study investigated the relationship between teaching competence and ICT integration among private school teachers in Davao City for the 2022-2023 school year. Employing a descriptive correlation design with 100 teacher respondents, the analysis revealed consistently high levels of teaching competence, particularly emphasizing professional development, and a high level of ICT integration, showcasing positive attitudes and effective utilization of ICT. The study underscored the significance of educators having a strong teaching foundation for a moderate positive relationship between teaching competence and ICT integration. The significant impact of professional development on ICT integration highlighted the need for ongoing training and growth opportunities for teachers, emphasizing the role of continuous learning in adapting to technological advancements. These findings highlighted the close relationship between teacher competence and successful ICT integration, underscoring the importance of professional development in creating a technology-rich learning environment. Conclusively, the findings underscored the importance of professional development in shaping effective ICT integration. These recommendations aimed to foster a collaborative and supportive environment, enhancing educators' competence and ensuring effective ICT integration. These insights provided valuable guidance for educators, policymakers, and researchers aiming to enhance teaching competence and ICT integration in private schools in Davao City.

Technology in education through mobile learning application (MLA) and its impact on learning outcomes: Literature review

Integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in teacher education is a means to support the teaching and learning process. Good teaching by utilizing technology certainly requires changes, especially in the realm of pedagogy, but teachers apparently do not have enough ability to optimize ICT in the learning process. In fact, ICT has the potential to provide various benefits for teachers and students, including joint learning areas, cooperative and collaborative learning opportunities. Therefore, this research aims to identify the use of mobile learning application (MLA) and its impact as a form of ICT integration in learning. The method used is literature study, by taking data from various relevant scientific articles and books. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis from the results of the synthesis of several literature reviews obtained. The research results show that a number of 10 main articles and 15 relevant supporting articles as well as several book sources show that mobile-based learning with smartphone devices is becoming a trend at various levels of education, both academic and vocational.

Unveiling the power of education, political stability and ICT in shaping technological innovation in BRI nations

Technological innovation is a critical element of economic and environmental sustainability; thus, the promotion of technological innovation in the economy has gained an apex among policy makers. The study's impetus is to measure the effect of investments in information and communication technology (ICT), education, and political stability on technical innovation in BRI countries for 2004–2020. In the process of documenting the empirical nexus through the implementation of novel panel techniques commonly known as Dynamic Seemingly Unrelated Regressions (SUR), continuously updated fully modified" (Cup-FM) and continuously updated bias-corrected (Cup-BC). The results of the slope of heterogeneity, cross-sectional dependency test, and panel cointegration test have revealed the presence of heterogeneity, all the research variables possessed certain common dynamics, and, most importantly presence of long-run association. The study documented the coefficients of ICT, education and Political stability are positive and statistically significant, indicating a contributory effect in fostering technological innovation in BRI nations. The findings emphasize the importance of upholding political stability, directing resources toward education, and fostering an environment that encourages innovation through the integration of information and communication technology (ICT). The study also highlights how critical it is to bring in FDI and use it to your advantage in order to boost tech development and the economy.

Linguistic dissection of nursing handoffs: Implications for patient safety in varied-acuity hospital settings.

This study examines the intricate language and communication patterns of nurse-to-nurse handoffs across three units with varying patient acuity levels and nurse-patient ratios, seeking to identify linguistic factors that may affect the quality of information transfer and patient outcomes. A mixed-methods cross-sectional design. This study used the Nurse-to-Nurse Transition of Care Communication Model to explore the content and meaning of language in nursing handoffs within a large academic medical centre. Data were collected on three units through digital audio recordings of 20 handoffs between June and September 2022, which were transcribed and analysed using the Linguistic Inquiry Word Count programme. Trustworthiness was established by adhering to COREQ and STROBE guidelines for qualitative and quantitative research, respectively. Analysis revealed a preference for casual, narrative language across all units, with ICU nurses demonstrating a higher confidence and leadership in communication. Cognitive processes such as insight and causation were found to be underrepresented, indicating a potential area for miscommunication. Communication motives driven by affiliation were more pronounced in ICU settings, suggesting a strong collaborative nature. No significant differences were observed among the units post multiple testing adjustments. Speech dysfluencies were most pronounced in ICU handoffs, reflecting possible stress and cognitive overload. The study highlights the need for improved communication strategies such as interventions to enhance language clarity and incorporating technological tools into handoff processes to mitigate potential miscommunications and errors. The findings advance nursing science by highlighting the critical role of nuanced language in varied-acuity hospital settings and the necessity for structured nurse education in handoff communication and standardized handoff procedures. This study underscores the critical role of language in nurse-to-nurse handoffs. It calls for enhanced communication strategies, technology integration and training to reduce medical errors, improving patient outcomes in high-acuity hospital settings. Nurses only.

Legal Basis of Educational Processes of Artificial Intelligence Algorithms in E-tourism

E-tourism has become a key component in the tourism industry and allows travelers to easily access information about destinations and services via the Internet, facilitating their travel planning process. Through e-tourism, travelers can research destinations, plan trips, book accommodations, purchase transportation tickets, and explore tourist attractions through online resources. Also, this area helps tourism businesses to effectively promote their services, communicate with clients and manage reservations. E-tourism represents the integration of information and communication technologies in the tourism sector. This concept encompasses the application of digital technologies such as the Internet, mobile applications, online reservation systems, web platforms and social media to improve aspects of travel and tourism. The legal foundation of educational procedures utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms in e-tourism holds significant importance because of the multitude of potential legal complexities and obstacles that could emerge. The Republic of Serbia, like many other countries, is working on improving its regulations in order to enable the development of e-tourism and at the same time ensure the protection of the interests and safety of travelers.

Utilizing Computer and Technological Devices to Improve the Performance of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Students: A Case Study of Secondary Schools in Al-Hasaheisa Locality, Gezira State, Sudan

Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of technology integration in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes on learners' motivation and performance. It also seeks to provide training for EFL teachers to effectively incorporate technology into their instructional practices.
 Methodology: The research utilizes experimental and descriptive-analytical methods, involving 75 participants, including EFL students and teachers from secondary schools in Al-Hasaheisa Locality, Gezira State, Sudan. Data collection involves questionnaires and pre-post-tests administered to both teachers and students. The collected data is analyzed using the SPSS program.
 Findings: The study reveals that the use of technology in EFL classes facilitates English language teaching and learning. Despite the high internet costs in Sudan, EFL students actively engage in online collaboration activities. However, it is highlighted that nearly half of the EFL teachers lack sufficient training to effectively utilize the available computers and technological devices. The study emphasizes that EFL students display motivation to learn through computer usage, both inside and outside the classroom. Additionally, technology enables EFL learners to engage in computer-based assignments, practice problem-solving and critical thinking through e-activities, and improve their overall performance. Furthermore, utilizing technology allows teachers to provide a broader range of materials and information.
 Unique Contributions to Theory, Policy and Practice: The study recommends the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in the EFL teaching and learning process. It emphasizes the need for comprehensive training programs to enhance EFL teachers' proficiency in effectively employing technology in their instructional practices.

ICT’s Impact on Teaching Information Technologies in Albanian Secondary Schools Through an Empirical Study

This study presents an empirical investigation into the effects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) integration in the pedagogical approaches adopted by secondary school teachers in Albania, specifically focusing on the teaching of information technologies. Through a meticulously designed assessment, data was collected and analyzed to ascertain the impact of ICT utilization on teaching methodologies. The research involved a cohort of secondary school teachers actively engaging with ICT tools and platforms to deliver information technologies education. Findings revealed noteworthy enhancements in instructional delivery, resource accessibility, and interactive learning experiences resulting from ICT integration. Furthermore, the study identified challenges and areas requiring further attention to optimize ICT's potential in fostering enriched learning environments. School Health Services' Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Interorganizational Collaboration Regarding Students With Mental Illness: A Scoping Review.

School health services (SHSs) and school nurses play a crucial role in identifying and supporting students with mental illness. The integration of information and communication technology (ICT) can facilitate interorganizational collaboration in this context. Due to the limited research in this area, a scoping review was conducted to explore SHSs' use of ICT in interorganization collaboration regarding students with mental illness. Six articles were reviewed, revealing three key themes: "types of ICT employed by SHSs in interorganizational collaboration," "constellation of SHSs in interorganizational collaboration," and "opportunities and challenges for SHSs using ICT in interorganizational collaboration." Notably, two of the six articles highlighted the absence of school nurses in interorganizational collaboration. Even though ICT plays a crucial role in interorganizational collaboration, no comprehensive solution was found. This scoping review confirms that there are challenges with operability and regulations that govern the exchange of private information between organizations.

Knowledge, Attitude and Skills of Physiotherapists Towards Tele-Rehabilitation

Background: With the rapid integration of information and communication technology in healthcare, telerehabilitation has emerged as a vital tool in physiotherapy, offering an alternative to traditional care methods. This evolution necessitates an understanding of physiotherapists' readiness and capability to employ such technologies in clinical practice. Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of physiotherapists regarding telerehabilitation, to ascertain their proficiency and perceptions of its application in clinical settings. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted over four months, post-approval of the research synopsis. Data were collected using the Telemedicine - Awareness, Knowledge, Attitude & Skills (AKAS) Questionnaire via an online Google Form from a non-probability convenience sample of 350 clinical and academic physiotherapists in Lahore. Participants had a minimum of six months of clinical experience and were aged 24 years or older. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0 to interpret the survey responses statistically. Results: Among the participants, 89.7% displayed a positive attitude toward the use of telecommunications in telerehabilitation. A significant majority (79.1%) recognized telerehabilitation as a legitimate service, with 80.6% agreeing on its efficacy in patient follow-up. Computer literacy varied, with 27.4% possessing advanced knowledge, 47.1% mediocre, and 25.4% beginner levels. Statistically significant correlations were observed between levels of computer knowledge and attendance at training programs (p < 0.05 for advanced and mediocre knowledge). Conclusion: The study concluded that physiotherapists generally hold a positive view of telerehabilitation, recognizing its importance in the continuum of care. Nonetheless, the variability in ICT skills highlights the need for comprehensive training to fully exploit the capabilities of telerehabilitation in enhancing patient care.

ANALYSIS OF THE ADVANTAGES AND CHALLENGES OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY-BASED LEARNING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

This study aims to examine in depth the advantages of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning at the elementary school level. ICT-based learning in elementary schools refers to the integration of information and communication technology in the learning process. The government has adopted initiatives to bring ICT into the basic education curriculum. The population in this study consisted of teachers, students and related parties at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Maguwoharjo 1, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. The use of ICT allows wider access to distance learning, increases student learning motivation, makes it easier to understand material, and facilitates independent learning. Apart from that, teachers also find it easy to convey lesson material and minimize their shortcomings in coordinating the class. The use of ICT also provides easier access to learning resources, enriches learning, and facilitates the creation of important documents.Teachers need to address the challenges of technical preparation, device and internet accessibility, and changes in teaching methods. Schools must face the challenges of investment in ICT infrastructure, staff and teacher training, as well as unstable electricity issues. Model for integration of information and communication technologies in resource sharing practices for enhanced service delivery in academic libraries in southeast Nigeria

PurposeThis study aims to develop a model for integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in resource sharing practices for enhanced service delivery in academic libraries in Southeast Nigeria. Seven objectives guided the study; ICT-based resource sharing practices in academic libraries in Southeast Nigeria; ICT infrastructure for resource sharing; ICT needs of librarians for resource sharing practices; stages of ICT integration in resource sharing; perception of librarians towards ICT-based resource sharing; challenges to integration of ICT in resource sharing practices; design a model for the integration of ICT into resource sharing; all in academic libraries in Southeast Nigeria.Design/methodology/approachThe research design adopted for this study is the mixed research design containing the “descriptive survey” research design and the “research and development, R&D.” The population of the study is 164, comprising all of the librarians in federal universities in Southeast Nigeria. All of the librarians of the five federal universities will be involved in the study. Hence, there was no sampling. The instrument for data collection is a structured questionnaire.FindingsThe findings of the study revealed that 88.8% of the librarians use ICT to boost the volume of resources; while 74% of the librarians were positive in all responses pertaining to ICT-based resource sharing practices in the libraries. The study also revealed that ICT infrastructures in the library for resource sharing are highly available and applicable; while computers and internet networks are the most needed gadgets for the operations. Libraries in Southeast Nigeria are in the applying and transforming stages of ICT adoption at a 69.7% response rate; while the librarians have a strong belief and understanding that a lot can be achieved in resource sharing through ICT; and would recommend such. Poor electrification, inadequate funding and unavailability of some ICT technologies were equally identified as challenges. Integration of information and communication technology in teaching English among in-service teachers

The widespread application of information and communications technology (ICT) in the field of education has drawn criticism. This investigation was to discover factors influencing English language teaching (ELT) in-service teachers’ integration of ICT. The sample consists of 1216 in-service teachers who teach English language in China. Four factors are found to influence ELT in-service teachers’ integration of ICT: attitudes, self-efficacy, digital competence, and digital tools use. The findings of the research utilizing the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach demonstrated that all four criteria have a substantial impact on how ICT is integrated by ELT in-service teachers. By considering all the variables that affect ELT in-service instructors, this research offered helpful insights for an effective designs of English language teaching with ICT.

 The integration of information and communication technology in education is driving the acceleration of computer literacy in Indonesian society. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study method. The focus of this research relates to the application of technology in PAI learning at Alfa Centauri Elementary School, Bandung. To obtain the data used is by interview, observation, and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is obtained through data triangulation technical tests. The results of research on technological advances have led to many changes, including in the field of education which gave birth to the concept of e-learning. With e-learning, learning becomes more effective and efficient. The integration of information and communication technology in primary school education improves the quality of education in these institutions.

Education Management Strategies to Maximize the Effectiveness of Information and Communication Technology Integration in Teaching and Learning Processes

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a key factor in driving this change. This research aims to elucidate educational management strategies to maximize the effectiveness of integrating information and communication technology in the teaching and learning process. The research method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative approach. Data sources are derived from Google Scholar for the period 2004-2024. This research utilizes Google Scholar as the primary source to obtain relevant, credible, original, and publicly available articles for systematic analysis. The study results indicate that in the era of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development, the integration of ICT in education is crucial to enhance learning effectiveness. To achieve this, focused and comprehensive educational management strategies are highly important. These strategies should be based on a strong understanding of the role of ICT in learning, integration of ICT into the curriculum, training and support for educators and students, development of technological infrastructure, development of supportive policies, inclusive and sustainable approaches in ICT strategy development, as well as collaboration among educational institutions, government, industry, and the community

Power electronics pertains to the conception, regulation, and utilization of electronic power circuits to proficiently administer and transform electrical energy. Power electronics play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and security of complex production systems. Also, increasingly important in various applications such as renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and industrial automation. However, modern power electronics systems are vulnerable to both cyber and physical anomalies due to the integration of information and communication technologies. So far, different methods have been used to detect abnormalities. This survey provides an overview of the state-of-the-art in anomaly detection in power electronics using machine learning and deep learning methods. It highlights the potential of these techniques in addressing the growing complexity and vulnerability of power electronics systems.
