Research on the Cultural Inheritance and Information Protection of Qinhuai Lanterns from the Perspective of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Qinhuai lanterns are a characteristic cultural activity in Nanjing and a well-known intangible cultural heritage in China, this study deeply analyzes the cultural value of Qinhuai lanterns from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage, and discusses its cultural inheritance and information protection strategy in the context of the new era. Through a detailed analysis of the historical, artistic, social, and educational values of Qinhuai lanterns, this paper proposes protection measures such as the development of inheritance and promotion platforms, the production of film and television media works, the establishment of digital resource libraries, and the strengthening of international cultural exchanges. As a treasure of traditional Chinese culture, the inheritance and protection of Qinhuai lanterns are of great significance for maintaining cultural diversity, promoting social development and enhancing national self-confidence. The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the protection and development of Qinhuai lanterns, and to promote their new vitality and vitality in the context of the new era.

An Aesthetic Morphology Approach of Visual Identity on Dong’s Ethnic Costume

The Dong ethnic minority is one of the representative ethnic minorities in China, The Dong ethnic minority has their own unique traditional clothing, The Dongs’ clothing had a long history, they were made by hand by each Dong family throughout the entire process from planting, spinning, weaving, dyeing, sewing and embroidering and decorating. It plays an important role in the life of Dong people, especially in special occasions such as festivals. The Dongs’ clothing had been included in the fourth batch of representative items of national intangible cultural heritage in China. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Dong ethnic minority and Visual identity in Clothing. Symbolic interactionism was the Theoretical basis of this study. The study was a qualitative study that was descriptive and historical in nature. The results were written in a literary/text format. Data were gathered through inspecte of clothing, photos and video records from the library, museum and interviews. Using aesthetic morphological methods to study the components of the design elements of their clothing, A comprehensive interpretation of the role of costume in expressing and symbolising, defining and shaping identity is presented. The findings concluded that the form and style of clothing worn by the Dong people reflect their visual identity and aesthetics. It is hoped that this study will provide an important reference for future research in related fields.

The Spatial Differentiation Characteristics and Influencing Mechanisms of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China

Intangible cultural heritage represents a cultural evolution shaped by human responses to adapting and transforming environments. Unveiling the characteristics and patterns of its spatial distribution can offer a more scientific foundation for the protection of intangible cultural heritage and the development of heritage tourism. By using ArcGIS software and Geo-detector, the regional differentiation characteristics and influencing mechanisms of Intangible Cultural Heritage, specifically the Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art (HCFCA), have been investigated. Results show that the distribution and structure of HCFCA in China vary significantly across regions and categories. Eastern China holds the highest number, while Southern China has fewer. Traditional fine arts and dance dominate, with folk literature being less represented. HCFCA exhibits a clear clustering trend, reflecting a "Polycentric Agglomeration" pattern, particularly in traditional drama, calligraphy, craftsmanship, sports, performing arts, and acrobatics. The study presents an influential mechanism model, with the natural environment as foundational, economic development as the primary driver, social development as supplementary support, and historical background as a catalyzing factor. This understanding not only enriches theoretical insights but also provides a scientific basis for the protection of intangible cultural heritage and the development of heritage tourism.

Examining the Effects of Food Consumption Value and Food Image on Tourists’ Intention to Purchase Guilin Rice Noodles

ABSTRACT Gastronomy serves a crucial function in the tourism sector, with distinctive local cuisines greatly enriching the experiences of travelers. This research examines Guilin rice noodles, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage of China, to investigate the interplay between tourists’ perceived consumption values, culinary image, and purchase intentions. Employing structural equation modeling, the study correlates tangible factors such as quality and price with intangible elements like health benefits, in relation to tourists’ cognitive and emotional responses. Data collected from tourists with direct experience indicate that both tangible and intangible perceived values have a significant influence on the food’s image and the intention to purchase. The results of this study expand upon consumer value theory within the context of tourism, illustrating how evaluations of both tangible and intangible attributes affect decision-making processes. The research advocates for a marketing strategy that emphasizes quality, pricing, health benefits, and novelty, thereby fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, it highlights the significance of a robust emotional and sensory appeal in strategic marketing efforts, thereby contributing to the body of literature on culinary tourism and consumer behavior.

Re-design Requirements Research for Intangible Cultural Heritage Products in the Tourism Industry: A Case Study of Mianzhu New Year Picture

In response to the challenges faced by Mianzhu New Year picture, a national-level intangible cultural heritage in China, in the transformation of tourism, including issues of homogenization, lack of cultural content, and limited innovation, this study aims to optimize the design of tourism derivative products of Mianzhu New Year picture. The goal is to avoid issues that may impact tourism consumption and cultural development. To achieve this, a method for evaluating the redesign requirements of Mianzhu New Year picture tourism products based on the KANO-AHP hybrid model is proposed, with the intention of providing guidance for the development of derivative products of intangible cultural heritage.Focusing on the "cultural creative products" in the redesign of Mianzhu New Year picture tourism products, the KANO model is applied. Based on tourism marketing demands, the study focuses on three main intentions: enhancing tourism consumption, cultural communication, and artistic innovation of Mianzhu New Year pictures tourism products. These are further subdivided into specific contents of artistry, functionality, technology, safety, and culture. A total of 30 requirement indicators are identified, and their KANO requirement attributes are determined. The study then constructs requirements indicators for cultural creative products of Mianzhu New Year picture tourism through statistical analysis. Subsequently, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to determine the weights of the cultural creative product requirements indicators. By analyzing and organizing the comprehensive weights of the top 10 requirement indicators, an optimized solution for the redesign of Mianzhu New Year pictures tourism products is obtained.

Sustainable Development of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rural Revitalization based on Experience Perspective

The protection and inheritance of the local intangible cultural heritage (ICH) holds profound significance, which has the characteristics of oral transmission and the intertwining of time and space, is an important content and means of rural cultural governance in China in the new era. It is significant in value for promoting rural revitalization and passing on the cultural genes of China. As rural society transforms, the change of rural social structure and cultural order leads to some conflicts for rural ICHs in China, such as subjective crises, weakening of values and the impact of modernity. Therefore, this paper combines the advantages of experience with the inheritance needs of ICH and puts its inheritance and protection under the national strategy of rural revitalization. The study focuses on the function of ICH in rural revitalization from the perspective of experience and explores the topic from three levels: the government, universities, and villages. Moreover, we provide sustainable development strategies for integrating intangible cultural heritage into rural revitalization to promote the revival of rural culture. This article explores the mutually beneficial relationship between intangible cultural heritage and rural revitalization, enhancing our understanding of both aspects. The primary contribution lies in providing sustainable development strategies for integrating intangible cultural heritage into rural revitalization at the government, university, and village levels.

Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Sustainable Inheritance Strategies of National Traditional Fine Arts Intangible Cultural Heritage in China

A total of 417 intangible cultural heritage objects (ICHOs) are intertwined with traditional Chinese art, showcasing China’s rich historical heritage and distinctive creative allure. However, ICHOs currently grapple with a significant succession quandary due to modernization endeavors and the impacts of globalization. Hence, this study scrutinizes the spatial distribution of ICHO projects and inheritors and examines methodologies for inheriting these 417 ICHOs, employing approaches such as the closest neighbor index, Moran’s I index, kernel density estimation, geographic concentration analysis, and imbalance index assessment. Research indicates that ICHOs exhibit a spatial aggregation pattern, yet there is no substantial spatial correlation observed in their distribution. The national distribution highlights two core density zones: Beijing and Shanghai. In China, ICHO programs display uneven distribution across various types, levels, regions, and cultural zones. Regarding the ethnic composition of projects and inheritors, ICHO projects predominantly focus on the Han ethnic group, with a scattering of minority representations. Minority ICHO projects and inheritors are concentrated in central and eastern areas, while Han ICHO projects and inheritors are concentrated in central and western regions. Among the 148 ICHO projects lacking inheritors, 203 have one inheritor, and only 66 have several inheritors. Shanghai serves as the core density zone for 269 ICHO projects with inheritors, while Beijing holds that status for 148 ICHO projects without inheritors. Out of the 148 ICHO projects lacking inheritors, 115 belong to the Han ethnic group, with 33 split among 16 different ethnic minorities, and 2 have no inheritors. These disparities underscore the uneven distribution of ICHO projects and the critical issue of inheritance. This study identified education, tourism, digital communication, incentivizing inheritors, and international cooperation as potential strategies for preserving ICHA. Moreover, a sustainable inheritance pathway integrating government, education, tourism, and media is imperative for the effective perpetuation of ICHOs’ legacy.

Exploration of Legal Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Intangible Cultural Heritage

The traditional cultures passed down through generations among various ethnic groups around the world constitute intangible cultural heritage. This heritage is closely tied to the cultural spaces and expressions of people's lives, bearing a myriad of traditional cultures. However, under the influence of rapid globalization and comprehensive digitalization, the ecological environment of intangible cultural heritage in China has undergone significant changes, challenging the inherent protection models of intangible cultural heritage. Due to the current inadequacy of related laws in China, there are many flaws in the legal protection of intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, by exploring the significance, characteristics, and issues related to the legal protection of intangible cultural heritage in China, corresponding measures and solutions are proposed to address the problems encountered in practice.

FCTNet: Fusion of 3D CNN and transformer dance action recognition network

Folk dance is an important intangible cultural heritage in China. In the environment where movement recognition technology is widely used, there is still no research field on the protection and inheritance of folk dance culture. In order to better protect and inherit the minority dance, screening the typical movements of 5 types of minority dance, through the dance video frame processing, obtain the key movements of 19 class dance sequence, build the national dance typical action data set, put forward a 3D CNN fusion Transformer national dance recognition network model (FCTNet), the recognition rate of 96.7% in the experiment. The results show that the construction method of the folk dance data set is reasonable, the identification model has good performance for the classification of folk dance, and can effectively identify and record the folk dance movements, which also makes new contributions to the digital protection of folk dance.

The Safeguarding of Indigenous Intangible Cultural Heritage in China: From Both Government and Private Sides

This paper will take the national intangible cultural heritage, Jingjiang palm puppetry, as an example to explore the protection and inheritance of China’s localised intangible cultural heritage from two perspectives: the government and the private sector.

Review and Reflection: The Perfection of the Legal Protection System for Representative Inheritors of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ethnic Minorities

The protection of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities is the basis of inheriting intangible cultural heritage. By combing the provisions on the representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in China’s existing legal norms, combining with practical problems, examining the shortcomings of existing provisions, this paper puts forward optimization ideas from three aspects: improving the identification mechanism of inheritors, stipulating the rights of inheritors clearly, and strengthening the protection of the rights of inheritors, so as to realize the research goal of protecting the representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities.

Sustainable tourism development for traditional Chinese drama's intangible cultural heritage

This study establishes an expert-driven evaluation system to assess the sustainable tourism development of drama-related intangible cultural heritage in China. Utilizing the Saaty 1–9 scale and hierarchical analysis method, 52 experts determined indicator weights and current development levels. Four dimensions are evaluated: humanistic value, project quality, tourism development, and sustainability. Results reveal humanistic value as most vital at 41.70 % weight. Secondary factors are project quality (29.89 %), tourism development (20.87 %), and sustainability (7.54 %). Aesthetic value, dissemination degree, and location conditions proved to the crucial tourism indicators. The ideological value of drama is paramount, alongside visibility and climate factors. The evaluation demonstrated strong preservation of humanistic value but deficiencies in tourism development, especially regarding infrastructure. Key recommendations include balancing preservation, dissemination, and innovation; emphasizing ideological value, visibility, and climate suitability; maintaining humanistic diversity; and improving site infrastructure. Further testing of evaluation indicators across periods is warranted alongside examining green revitalization potential. This assessment, guided by experts, offers a thorough framework for the sustainable development and preservation of the precious intangible heritage embodied in Chinese drama.

Exploring the Digital Innovation Development Model of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China

Abstract Exploring the innovative development mode of digitalization of China’s intangible cultural heritage, the study focuses on applying and improving the traditional entropy value method in the digital evaluation of intangible cultural heritage, and is dedicated to enhancing the dissemination effect and public cognition of intangible cultural heritage. The study first standardizes the data, including the extreme value processing method, z-score standardization method, etc., and then applies the improved entropy value method for comprehensive evaluation. This paper’s improved entropy value method focuses on the Nature of the evaluation indexes, making the index data more genuinely reflect the relationship between the original values. The study results show that the index of understanding non-heritage culture through the Internet channel is 0.6, significantly higher than other channels. The user experience score of non-heritage culture after digitization increased from 2.48 to 4.43, indicating that digitization technology significantly improved the user experience of non-heritage culture. In addition, digitization technology enhanced NRM cultural heritage’s aesthetic, novelty and social communication. Digitization technology effectively enhances the communication effect and public perception of ICH.

Familiarity and novelty in aesthetic appreciation: The case of intangible cultural heritage in China

International cultural heritage is of growing interest in terms of Chinese policy and as an important element of the tourist experience. This paper seeks to better understand the elements that lead to aesthetic appreciation of Chinese opera focusing on the seemingly opposite concepts of familiarity and novelty. It uses a novel mixed methods approach combining lab-based and field studies and incorporating physiological response measures and interviews.It identifies a complex relationship between familiarity and novelty discovering that when these overlap aesthetic appreciation and liking are enhanced. We make recommendations for incorporating additional elements within traditional intangible cultural heritage to attract young tourist audiences. These include incorporating humour as surprise, building aspects of familiarity beforehand and including moments of unexpected familiarity.

Research on intangible cultural heritage resource description and knowledge fusion based on linked data

PurposeThe purpose of this article is to contribute to the digital development and utilization of China’s intangible cultural heritage resources, research on the theft of intangible cultural heritage resources and knowledge integration based on linked data is proposed to promote the standardized description of intangible cultural heritage knowledge and realize the digital dissemination and development of intangible cultural heritage.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, firstly, the knowledge organization theory and semantic Web technology are used to describe the intangible cultural heritage digital resource objects in metadata specifications. Secondly, the ontology theory and technical methods are used to build a conceptual model of the intangible cultural resources field and determine the concept sets and hierarchical relationships in this field. Finally, the semantic Web technology is used to establish semantic associations between intangible cultural heritage resource knowledge.FindingsThe study findings indicate that the knowledge organization of intangible cultural heritage resources constructed in this study provides a solution for the digital development of intangible cultural heritage in China. It also provides semantic retrieval with better knowledge granularity and helps to visualize the knowledge content of intangible cultural heritage.Originality/valueThis study summarizes and provides significant theoretical and practical value for the digital development of intangible cultural heritage and the resource description and knowledge fusion of intangible cultural heritage can help to discover the semantic relationship of intangible cultural heritage in multiple dimensions and levels.

Innovation on Cultural and Creative Product–Designing Traditional Chinese Poetry into Product

The cultural and creative (CAC) industries have experienced rapid growth in recent years, and "Culture" plays a critical role in design. Traditional Chinese poetry is an intangible cultural heritage in China's civilisation. Therefore, designing "Traditional Chinese Poetry" into products will be a CAC product design trend. This study investigates how to transform Traditional Chinese Poetry elements into CAC products with an innovative design model. Through the design practice, participants have successfully designed CAC products based on ancient poetry elements. Moreover, there still needs to be more research on the cultural product design of the intangible traditional culture in China.

Research on the Evaluation of the Effect of Tourism Revitalization of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China in the Context of New Media

Abstract In this paper, a tourism revitalization model of intangible cultural heritage is constructed, and firstly, feature factors are extracted and multivariate features are combined using methods such as kernel density estimation to provide support for reliable prediction. Then decompose the MLP network structure, i.e. multilayer perceptron, and use Sigmoid function as the activation function. The importance of the feature factors is calculated using the random forest algorithm, and the collected tourism data are mined for the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and tourism revitalization to obtain the residual mean square of out-of-bag data. Finally, the coupling coordination degree is used to derive the development of ICH and tourism revitalization. The experimental results showed that 78% of the tourists were moderately to highly involved in the interactive participation of ICH, and only 22% were not interested in it. Therefore, the combination of ICH tourism and new media may become a new way of communication, allowing more general public to have the opportunity to approach and know ICH tourism.
