Two new species of Amaurobius C. L. Koch, 1837 (Araneae, Amaurobiidae) from Sichuan Province, China.

In this paper, two new species of the genus Amaurobius C. L. Koch, 1837 of the family Amaurobiidae Thorell, 1869 are reported from Sichuan Province, China: A. danba Lin & Li, sp. nov. () and A. yaan Lin & Li, sp. nov. (). Photos and morphological descriptions of the new species are presented; the type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS), Beijing.

Otaciliakhezu sp. nov., a new troglobitic spider (Araneae, Phrurolithidae) from Guangxi, China.

Only two Otacilia Thorell, 1897 species with troglobitic characteristics have been recorded from Laos and no records of troglobitic Otacilia species from China. A new troglobitic species is reported from Guangxi, China: Otaciliakhezu Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀). Photos and morphological descriptions of the new species are presented; the type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS), Beijing.

Three new species of the spider genus Utivarachna Kishida, 1940 (Araneae, Trachelidae) from China and Vietnam.

Three new species belonging to the kinabaluensis group of the trachelid genus Utivarachna Kishida, 1940 are reported from China and Vietnam: U.linyejieisp. nov. (♂♀), U.tamdaosp. nov. (♂♀), and U.zhengguoisp. nov. (♂♀). Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing, China and the Vietnam National Museum of Nature (VNMN) in Hanoi, Vietnam.

On five new species of the genera Araneus and Hypsosinga (Araneae, Araneidae) from Vietnam.

Five new species of the spider family Araneidae Clerck, 1757 from Vietnam are described: Araneuseugeneisp. nov. (♂♀), A.ethanisp. nov. (♀), A.liamisp. nov. (♂♀), Hypsosingaryanisp. nov. (♂♀), and H.zionisp. nov. (♀). Diagnostic photographs of the habitus and copulatory organs are provided. Two new species of Coccophagus Westwood (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) from China

The malthusi group of Coccophagus Westwood (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is characterized by a densely setose mesoscutellum with the posterior apical pair of setae distinctly longer than others. In the present paper, two new species of the malthusi group are described from China: Coccophagus infuscatus sp. nov. and Coccophagus bandus sp. nov., both reared from species of Coccidae (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha). The type specimens are housed in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS), Beijing, China.

On two new Oedignatha species from Xishuangbanna, China, and the first description of the female of Jacaenamenglaensis Mu & Zhang, 2020 (Araneae, Liocranidae).

Liocranid spiders from the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden in Yunnan, China are studied. Two new species of Oedignatha Thorell, 1881, O.dian Lu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) and O.menglun Lu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), are described, and the female of Jacaenamenglaensis Mu & Zhang, 2020 is described for the first time. The specimens studied are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing, China.

A new species of Chilobrachys (Araneae, Theraphosidae) from Guangdong, China.

The theraphosid spider genus Chilobrachys Karsch, 1892 contains 30 species, almost entirely limited to Indochina, India, Sri Lanka and China. Six species of Chilobrachys are currently known from China: C.dominus Lin & Li, 2022 (Yunnan), C.guangxiensis (Yin & Tan, 2000) (Guangxi, Hainan), C.hubei Song & Zhao, 1988 (Hubei, Chongqing), C.jinchengi Lin & Li, 2022 (Tibet), C.liboensis Zhu & Zhang, 2008 (Guizhou, Guangxi) and C.lubricus Yu et al., 2021 (Yunnan). A new species, Chilobrachysqishuoi Lin & Li, sp. n., is described from Guangdong, China, on the basis of both sexes. This is the easternmost Chilobrachys species known. Photos and a morphological description of the new species are provided. Type materials are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing, China.

Sea–land transition drove terrestrial amphipod diversification in East Asia, with a description of a new species

Abstract Sea–land transition caused by marine incursion and regression is hypothesized to be a major driving force in terrestrial biodiversity, providing opportunities for marine ancestors to colonize terrestrial habitats and driving vicariant speciation in distinct geographical regions. Here, we test this hypothesis in East Asia using amphipods of the Morinoia japonica complex. We constructed a dataset from 269 individuals covering all known ranges of this species complex. Phylogenetic and biogeographic analyses revealed that sea–land transition during the Miocene drove the coastal ancestor to invade terrestrial habitats in East Asia and subsequently split into eight biogeographic lineages in eastern China, Korea, Japan and some Pacific islands. Stepping-stone dispersal resulted in a relatively wide distribution of M. japonica, and long-term geographical isolation led to the diversification of the M. japonica complex. Species delimitation analysis suggests that this complex contains eight species. We describe the geographical group from eastern China as a new species, Morinoia aosen sp. nov., based on genetic and morphological comparisons with other geographical groups. Two new species of the genus Smaragdina Chevrolat, 1836 (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae) from China.

Two new species of the genus Smaragdina Chevrolat from China are reported: S.hejingensis Duan, Wang & Zhou sp. nov. from Xinjiang, and S.magnipunctata Duan, Wang and Zhou sp. nov. from Yunnan. Six species, S.divisa (Jacoby), S.insulana Medvedev, S.kimotoi Lopatin, S.laboissierei (Pic), S.laosensis Kimoto & Gressitt, and S.oculata Medvedev are new country records for China. Color illustrations and line drawings of general habitus and morphological details are given. All types of two new species are deposited in the collection of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

Taxonomy of the Cryptocephalus heraldicus Group (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae) from China

This is a study on the leaf beetle subgenus Cryptocephalus Geoffroy, 1762 from China, with the particular emphasis upon the species-group classification of the subgenus and the taxonomy of the Cryptocephalus heraldicus species group. A new key is compiled to all the species groups found in China. Four new species are described from China: Cryptocephalus (Cryptocephalus) biordopunctatus sp. nov. from Yunnan, C. hani sp. nov. from Shanxi, Hubei, Shaanxi and Gansu, C. incisodentatus sp. nov. from Sichuan and Yunnan, and C. nigroflavusiventerus sp. nov. from Yunnan. Three species are found for the first time in China: C. lacosus Pic, 1922, C. nigriceps Allard, 1891 and C. rajah Jacoby, 1908. The species C. nigrolimbatus Jacoby, 1890 is transferred from the subgenus Burlinius Lopatin to this subgenus and assigned to the Cryptocephalus heraldicus group. The species number of this group is now 30 in total according to our result of taxonomic review. A key to all the mainland China species of this species group is provided as well as high quality color images and line drawings of adult habitus, aedeagus, and other important structures. All the types of the new species are deposited in the collection of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

Two new species of the genus Melixanthus Suffrian (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae) from China.

Two new species of the genus Melixanthus Suffrian, 1854 are described from China: M.menglaensis Duan, Wang & Zhou, sp. nov. from Yunnan (also in Vietnam, Tonkin) and M.similibimaculicollis Duan, Wang & Zhou, sp. nov. from Yunnan. Another species, M.rufiventris Pic, 1926, is reported for the first time in China. High-quality color images and line drawings of adult habitus, aedeagus, and other important structures are provided for all three species. The types of the new species are deposited in the collection of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

Seven new species of the genus Ischnothyreus Simon, 1893 from the spider family Oonopidae Simon, 1890 are reported from Myanmar: I. hponkanrazisp. nov. (♀), I. jianglangisp. nov. (♀), I. meukyawwasp. nov. (♂♀), I. putaosp. nov. (♀), I. qiuxingsp. nov. (♀), I. taunggyisp. nov. (♂♀) and I. zhigangisp. nov. (♂♀). Morphological descriptions and photographic illustrations of the new species are given. All types are preserved in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS).

The genus Pholcus Walckenaer, 1805 is reported from Pakistan for the first time. Two new species of the Pholcus nenjukovi species-group are described: Pholcus hamuchal Yao Li sp. nov. (Gilgit Baltistan, male and female) and Pholcus kalam Yao Li sp. nov. (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, male and female). Four new species of the genus Draconarius Ovtchinnikov, 1999 (Araneae, Agelenidae) from the Tibetan Plateau, China.

Four new species of Draconarius Ovtchinnikov, 1999 (Araneae, Agelenidae) from the Tibetan Plateau, China are described: Draconarius baibaensis sp. n. (♀), Draconarius budanlaensis sp. n. (♀), Draconarius yigongensis sp. n. (♂♀), and Draconarius yingbinensis sp. n. (♀). The male of Draconarius linzhiensis (Hu, 2001) is described for the first time and the female re-illustrated. All species belong to the Draconarius venustus-group. The examined specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing.

On the genera Qiongocera and Relictocera (Araneae, Psilodercidae) from Southeast Asia.

Four new species are described in two psilodercid genera, Qiongocera Li & Li, 2017 and Relictocera Li & Li, 2017: Qiongoceraluoxuan Li & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) from China, Relictocerawugen Li & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) and R.sigen Li & Li, sp. nov. (♂) from Vietnam, and R.qianzi Li & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) from Thailand. These genera were previously thought to be monotypic. In addition, one species of the genus Merizocera Fage, 1912 is transferred to Relictocera: Relictoceramus (Deeleman-Reinhold, 1995), comb. nov. (♂♀). The types of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing.

On the genus Flexicrurum Tong & Li, 2007 (Araneae, Psilodercidae) from Hainan Island, China.

Three new species of the genus Flexicrurum Tong & Li, 2007, from Hainan Island, China are described: F.wuzhishanensesp. nov. (♂♀), F.yangjiaosp. nov. (♂♀), and F.qishisp. nov. (♂♀). A key to males of species of Flexicrurum is provided. Additionally, the female of F.minutum Tong & Li, 2007, is described for the first time. To date, the genus is endemic to Hainan Island, China. Types are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing.

Two new species of the spider genus Belisana Thorell, 1898 are described based on material collected in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China: Belisana menghai Yao Li sp. nov. (male, female) and Belisana xishuangbanna Yao Li sp. nov. (male), bringing the total Chinese Belisana fauna to 41 species. The DNA barcode COI of B. menghai Yao Li sp. nov. is documented. All material studied is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing, China.

Five new species of the genus Khorata Huber, 2005 are reported from Vietnam: Khorata bachma Yao Li sp. nov. (Thua Thien-Hue), K. cucphuong Yao Li sp. nov. (Ninh Binh), K. vinhphuc Yao Li sp. nov. (Vinh Phuc), K. palace Yao Li sp. nov. (Ninh Binh) and K. quangbinh Yao Li sp. nov. (Quang Binh). The Belisana spiders (Araneae: Pholcidae) from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Yunnan, China.

Five new species of the spider genus Belisana Thorell, 1898 are described based on material collected in the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (Yunnan, China). They are: B. dian Yao Li sp. nov. (male), B. gupian Yao Li sp. nov. (male, female), B. chenjini Yao Li sp. nov. (male, female), B. xtbg Yao Li sp. nov. (male, female), and B. yangxiaodongi Yao Li sp. nov. (male, female). B. schwendingeri Huber, 2005 and B. zhengi Yao, Pham Li, 2015 are reported from China for the first time.
