A new leafhopper species: Fistulatus motuoensis Hassan & Xing sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Xizang Autonomous Region, China. A key based on the aedeagus is given to distinguish all species of the genus. Two new leafhopper species, Longicornus concavus sp. nov. and Longicornus nonprocessus sp. nov., are described and illustrated from Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Una etapa de la historia reciente del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (1970-1985) contada por sus protagonistas

The article presents a singular study highlighting how oral sources can be a fundamental tool in historical reconstruction. The stage in which the study is located is that of the 70s and 80s of the 20th century and the protagonist is the National Museum of Natural Sciences. It will be shown how the data provided through interviews with Museum professionals or those related to it, once contrasted with those obtained from conventional sources (archive and bibliographic material), serve to complement and/or ratify situations of special relevance in the history of the institution. Two cases are tested, the general state of the Museum, its collections, exhibitions and research in the aforementioned period, and its reunification at the end of 1984 incorporating the Spanish Institute of Entomology, the Institute of Geology and the Museum itself into a single center.

First record of the genus Exilipedronia Williams, 1960 (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Pseudococcidae) in China, with description of a new species on bamboo

The mealybug genus Exilipedronia Williams, 1960 (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Pseudococcidae) is reported for the first time from Guizhou Province, China, based on a new species found infesting Bambusa sp. (Poaceae). It is described as Exilipedronia multipori Tan & Xing sp. n., and habitat photographs and illustrations are provided. The type material of E. multipori is deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC) and in the insect collection at the Department of Forestry Protection, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China (NFUC). A key to all three species of Exilipedronia is provided.

A new Scaphoideini leafhopper genus from China (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae)

A new genus of the tribe Scaphoideini from China, Paramelanetettix gen. nov. with P. expansivus sp. nov. as type species is described and illustrated. The type specimen of the new species is deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC).

The leafhopper genus Fistulatus Zhang, 1997 (Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae: Drabescini: Paraboloponina) is reviewed with descriptions of two new species, Fistulatus biconjugara sp. nov., from Guizhou Province, China and F. brevimarginalis sp. nov., from Yunnan Province, China. A checklist with distributions and a key to males of this genus are provided. The specimens studied are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, Guizhou, China (GUGC).

First record of the genus Marsipococcus Cockerell & Bueker (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) from China, with description of a new species

The soft scale insect genus Marsipococcus Cockerell & Bueker, 1930 (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) is reported for the first time from China; a new species, Marsipococcus brideliae sp. n., is described and illustrated from Guizhou Province on Bridelia retusa (Phyllanthaceae). A key is given to distinguish all four species in the genus. Type specimens of the new species are deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China and the collection at the Department of Forestry Protection, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing.

Taxonomic notes on the leafhopper genus Phlogothamnus Ishihara (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae), with description of a new species from China

A new leafhopper species Phlogothamnus renhuaiensis sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Guizhou Province, China. An updated identification key for the adult male Phlogothamnus species is provided, and a global distribution map showing the geographic distribution of all species is also provided. A cumulative checklist of 10 Phlogothamnus species including the basionym, localities of type materials, type depositories, and updated distribution data is also presented. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC).

A new species of Odonaspis Leonardi, 1897 (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) from China

A new species of armoured scale insect (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae: Aspidiotinae: Odonaspidini), Odonaspis renhuaiensis Chen, Jian & Xing sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Guizhou Province, China. The type specimens are deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China. An identification key based on the morphology of adult females is provided to separate all the species of Odonaspis Leonardi, 1897.

Description of a new species of the genus Paralecanium Cockerell & Bueker (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) from China.

A new species of soft scale insect (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) belonging to the genus Paralecanium Cockerell & Bueker, P. sabia Tan, Meng & Xing sp. n., is described and illustrated. It was found on the leaves of Sabia swinhoei Hemsl (Sabiaceae) in Guizhou Maolan National Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. Habitat photographs and illustrations are provided. The type material of P. sabia sp. n. is deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC) and in the insect collection at the Department of Forestry Protection, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China (NFUC). An identification key to separate the 28 species in Paralecanium, based on the morphology of adult females, is provided.

Two new species of Aulacaspis Cockerell, 1893 (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) from China, with an identification key to Chinese species.

Two new armoured scale insect species (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) are described and illustrated from Guizhou Province, China. Aulacaspis pericampylus sp. n. was collected from Pericampylus glaucus (Menispermaceae) and Aulacaspis multispinata sp. n. was collected from Cinnamomum camphora (Lauraceae). The type specimens of both new species are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC). A key to the Aulacaspis species known from China, based on the morphology of the adult females, is provided.

A new leafhopper species Sophonia furcata sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Sichuan Province, China. A key is given to distinguish all Chinese species of the genus. Three new species of Atkinsoniella (Arthropoda, Insecta, Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Cicadellinae) from China, with an updated checklist to the known species worldwide.

The sharpshooter genus Atkinsoniella Distant, 1908 includes 99 valid species worldwide. Here, three new species from China are described and illustrated: Atkinsoniellastenopyga, A.wangi, and A.yingjiangensisspp. nov. An updated checklist of the known Atkinsoniella species worldwide based on the data of previous literature and studied materials is also provided. All the type specimens of three new species are deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China.

Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) and Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) as Primary Ingredients for Liquid Mosquito (Culicidae) Larvicide

Mosquito-Borne diseases or diseases that spread from host to host are a big problem around the world. This study intends to find out if processed Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) and Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) natural extract can be used as an inexpensive and environmentally friendly mosquito larvicidal solution. Based in some studies Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus), and Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) contains natural chemical that can kill larvae in their early stage. The researchers used two (2) set-ups with four (4) containers including one (1) control group which will be the basis of the experiment, all the containers are containing twenty (20) live mosquito larvae from the Institute of Weed Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology (IWEP) of University of the Philippines, Los Baños, Laguna. The researchers added different concentrations and ratios of the solution in each container in this experiment. As the experiment conducted, the results show that less than fifty percent (50%) of the specimen was eliminated in the whole set-up, The experiment revealed that Oregano and Lemongrass larvicide solution is not enough to reach what this study aims for. Also, experiment results indicate that Oregano and Lemongrass solution is not enough to kill the larvae of mosquitoes. The researchers conclude that the Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus), and Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) larvicide solution is not effective as an alternative mosquito (Culicidae) larvicide solution.

New species of genus Atractides Koch, 1837 (Acari: Hydrachnidiae, Hygrobatidae) from Qinghai, China

The paper deals with five new species of the genus Atractides Koch, 1837 (Acari: Hydrachnidiae, Hygrobatidae) collected from Qinghai Province, P.R. China, Atractides (Atractides) biprojectus Zhang, Li & Guo sp. nov., Atractides (Atractides) smiti Zhang, Li & Guo sp. nov., Atractides (Atractides) menyuanensis Zhang, Li & Guo sp. nov., Atractides (Atractides) longiprojectus Zhang, Li & Guo sp. nov. and Atractides (Atractides) xianmiensis Zhang, Li & Guo sp. nov. All the new species are described and illustrated in detail, and all the type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC).

Description of a new species of the leafhopper genus Tambocerus (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from Guizhou, China.

A new leafhopper species, Tambocerus fanjingensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Guizhou Province, China. A checklist of the Chinese species of Tambocerus is provided and a key based on the male genitalia is given to distinguish the Chinese species of the genus. Bambusaecoccus maolanensis, a new soft scale genus and species from China (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae).

A new genus of soft scale insect from Guizhou Province, China, Bambusaecoccus Meng Xing gen. n., with Bambusaecoccus maolanensis Meng Xing sp. n. (Hemiptera: Coccidae: Paralecaniini) as type species, is described and illustrated. The species was collected from bamboo, Bambusa (Dendrocalamopsis) sp. (Poaceae: Bambusoideae), under carton shelters built by the ant Crematogaster subnuda nigrosubnuda zdikmen 2010 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Myrmicinae). Type specimens of the new species are deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC).
