This research, conducted at the Atate Campus of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, delves into the realm of technical writing within the Information Technology (IT) sector, focusing on the pedagogical strategies that facilitate the comprehension of complex technical topics by IT students. It seeks to uncover the challenges IT students face when engaging with technical documentation and the effective methods to surmount these obstacles. Through a qualitative and quantitative analysis involving a survey distributed to 100 IT students across various academic years, the study identifies significant challenges such as conceptual complexity, jargon prevalence, and the need for audience-tailored documentation. The research highlights best practices like the use of plain language, visuals, real-world examples, and the critical role of user testing in enhancing document clarity and understandability. Furthermore, it examines preferences in writing styles and document structures, offering insights into effective technical communication tailored to diverse audience needs. This study proposes a set of recommendations aimed at improving technical writing curriculum and pedagogy, encouraging future research, and fostering a deeper understanding of technical subjects among IT students through enhanced technical writing skills.

Regional features of the tax burden of IT companies in the context of increasing their sustainability

This article characterizes the dynamics of the tax burden of Russian IT-companies as a key factor in their economic sustainability. This study aims to determine regional characteristics of the level of tax burden in the field of information techno­logy in order to identify best practices with the possibility of further replication of successful experience. To achieve this goal, an analysis is carried out of changes in the tax burden in the post-COVID period compared to 2019. Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of the tax burden depending on the scale of enterprises. The results show that the trend of reducing the tax burden in the post-COVID period is not stable for all Russian regions. The low level of tax burden is associated not so much with the industry of activity (in particular, with the field of information technology), but with regional characteristics (the creation of tax preferences in certain territories). Currently, state support for business through tax methods is aimed more at supporting certain regions and not the sphere of IT. The most typical scale of enterprises in the information technology sector, demonstrating a minimal tax burden, assumes revenue from 30 to 120 mln rubles a year. Such scaling of business in this area allows not only to use tax preferences established by the current Russian tax legislation, but also to find resources for organizing effective tax planning.

REMOTE WORK POLICIES FOR IT PROFESSIONALS: REVIEW OF CURRENT PRACTICES AND FUTURE TRENDS

This study investigates the dynamics of remote work in the Information Technology (IT) sector, focusing on best practices, challenges, and future implications. Through a systematic literature review and content analysis, the study explores the key objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions regarding remote work policies and technologies in the IT industry. The main objectives of the study include synthesizing insights into best practices for remote work, examining the future landscape of IT remote work, providing strategic recommendations for enhancing remote work policies and technologies, and identifying directions for future research in remote work dynamics. Methodologically, the study employs a systematic approach, utilizing reputable academic databases and search strategies to identify relevant literature. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are established to ensure the rigor and relevance of the selected articles, which are then subjected to data analysis using content analysis techniques to identify recurring themes and insights. Key findings from the study highlight the importance of clear communication, technological support, trust, and work-life balance in remote work environments. Challenges such as cybersecurity risks, team cohesion, and equity concerns are also identified. However, the study also emphasizes the promises of remote work, including increased flexibility, productivity, and talent retention. Based on these findings, strategic recommendations are provided for enhancing remote work policies and technologies in the IT sector, including investing in cybersecurity measures, implementing comprehensive training programs, and leveraging emerging technologies. The study concludes by highlighting the need for continued research in understanding the long-term impacts of remote work and effectively managing remote teams to foster inclusive and sustainable work environments in the digital age. Cloud-Based Accounting Information Systems and Financial Reporting Quality of Listed Information and Communication Technology Firms in Nigeria

The confluence of cloud-based Accounting Information Systems (AIS) adoption and financial reporting quality within Nigeria's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is explored in this study. Given the dynamic landscape of the ICT industry characterized by technological advancements, evolving market dynamics, and regulatory shifts, ICT firms are increasingly turning to cloud-based AIS to streamline their accounting processes and adapt to changing business requirements. The population of the study consists of all eight (8) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enterprises that are listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group as of 31st December 2022. As a result, this study delves into the impact of Cloud-Based AIS adoption on the Financial Reporting Quality of Listed ICT Firms in Nigeria over a decade-long period from 2013 to 2022. Utilizing a Panel Regression Technique (Random Effect Model), the study identifies a significant overall effect of Cloud-Based AIS on the Financial Reporting Quality of Listed ICT Firms in Nigeria. Moreover, it highlights the significant influence of Cloud Security Investment on financial reporting quality among ICT firms in Nigeria, while Cloud Expenditure Growth is found to have no statistically significant effect. The study emphasizes the need for strategic resource allocation and exploration of cost optimization opportunities, given that cloud expenditure growth may not directly impact financial reporting quality. However, the study recommends for prioritizing cloud security investments to safeguard financial data integrity, mitigate cybersecurity risks, and enhance trust in financial reporting practices, thereby bolstering investor confidence.

Research on the implementation degree of agile project management methodologies in Russian IT–companies

In the dynamic development context of the information technology sector, especially crucial for Russia at the moment, the adoption of agile project management methodologies becomes a necessary step for companies to effectively respond to changes, enhance product quality, and achieve market success while maintaining competitiveness. Therefore, the aim of this research is to assess the degree of implementation of agile project management methodologies in IT companies in Russia. The study was conducted through online surveys of practicing specialists in the field of managing innovative projects. Specialists were asked a general question about their application of agile methodologies, as well as four questions regarding specific aspects: requirements gathering, planning, communication with clients, and team communication. The article describes which aspects of agile project management methodologies are practiced by surveyed specialists. In conclusion, it is noted that employees tend to use hybrid project management approaches more frequently than pure agile methodologies. Agile principles are more commonly integrated into client communication and team communication, and less so in requirements gathering and planning.

Dynamics of the Digital Workforce: Assessing the Interplay and Impact of AI, Automation, and Employment Policies

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation within various sectors poses challenges and opportunities for the global workforce. This study investigates the implications of AI and automation on employment patterns, skills requirements, and remote work infrastructures. Employing a quantitative research design, data was collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 482 professionals across the information technology, healthcare, and finance sectors. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test hypotheses related to the impact of technological advancements on employment. Major findings indicate a significant, albeit complex, impact of AI and automation on employment. Most respondents recognized AI and automation as catalysts for creating new job opportunities and enhancing productivity, particularly in sectors with high integration of digital technologies. However, the study also highlighted substantial concerns regarding the widening skills gap and the adequacy of current employment policies in managing the transition. Specifically, sixty-nine percent of respondents identified a significant skills gap necessitating urgent educational and training interventions. About half of the respondents viewed existing employment policies as inadequate in addressing the challenges of rapid technological changes. The study concludes that while AI and automation are reshaping the employment landscape, creating new types of jobs, and altering skill requirements, there is a critical need for proactive adaptation strategies. Recommendations include developing targeted reskilling programs, adaptive employment policies, and robust remote work infrastructures to support an increasingly digital workforce. These strategies are essential to harness the benefits of digital transformations while mitigating potential adverse effects on employment.

Information and communication technology and poverty alleviation in Nigeria

There is a disconnect between the abundant resources at the national level and the severe poverty at individual and household levels in Nigeria. Information and communication technology is an efficient tool that the Asian economies have used to alleviate poverty. Information and communication technology is regarded as a tool which helps create an information and communication technology-based economy. This quantitative study examined how Nigeria can use information and communication technology to alleviate the enormous poverty levels. Data were sourced from the World Bank and International Telecommunication Union, for the period 1992–2020. In terms of the research methodology, the Autoregressive Distributed Lag model was employed in the research. The empirical findings showed that information and communication technology can have a projected 50% positive effect in reducing poverty. Foreign direct investment had a positive effect on reducing income inequality. Primary research findings depicted that information and communication technology, economic growth, foreign direct investment and private domestic credit were key tools for reducing poverty in Nigeria. Concerning policy recommendations, it was suggested that private domestic credit and foreign direct investment should be channelled to the information and communication technology sector to have a greater impact on poverty alleviation.

Resilient and agile employees’ pursuit of innovative performance and well-being: the role of job crafting

Purpose This study aims to examine the association of employee resilience and agility with innovative performance and subjective well-being. Moreover, it tests job crafting as the underlying mechanism through which resilient and agile employees perform innovatively and experience higher subjective well-being. Design/methodology/approach The study used a survey-based research design and structural equation modeling technique to examine the proposed hypotheses. Data was collected from a sample of 380 employees working in the Indian information technology sector using survey questionnaires. Findings The results show that highly resilient and agile employees participate in job crafting that positively influences their innovative performance and subjective well-being. Job crafting fully mediates the association of resilience with work and well-being outcomes and partially mediates agility and outcomes. Practical implications There is a value in promoting the development of employee resilience and agility to foster ways in which employees can craft their jobs and, thus, maximize their innovative performance and subjective well-being. Originality/value This study makes an important contribution by underscoring the importance of personal resources (resilience and agility) as drivers of job crafting for higher innovative performance and subjective well-being.

A STUDY ON WORK LIFE BALANCE OF WOMEN WORKING IN IT SECTOR IN INDIA

Work-life balance (WLB) is a major problem because of the many demands and challenges that women in the information technology sector face while trying to combine their personal and professional lives. This study aims to investigate the appropriate management of personal and professional life by Indian women employed in the IT sector. The paper integrates quantitative and qualitative data from more than 50 females IT workers who were polled and interviewed across Indian cities using a mixed-methods methodology. The research looks at the factors that affect women's capacity to balance work and personal life in the IT business, including working hours, workplace culture, family responsibilities, career ambitions, and social support. This article also looks at how women's performance, contentment, and overall health are affected by work-life balance. The study found that work-family conflict, high levels of stress, and burnout are common among women in IT, and that these factors negatively affect the happiness, productivity, and health of these women. The paper also outlines a number of coping strategies and best practices that the women use to balance their personal and professional life, including negotiating, self-care, delegating, and time management. The article offers a number of suggestions and methods to help women in IT occupations achieve a better work-life balance, including childcare facilities, mentorship programs, flexible work schedules, and awareness campaigns. By concentrating on the unique demands and experiences of women in India's technical advancements sector—a highly competitive and rapidly growing industry with a sizeable female workforce—the research contributes to the body of information on work-life balance. The report also offers some consequences and suggestions for more research, laws, and industrial practices in this area. This paper says that how the women employees are balanced and Satisfied in IT sector and the factors that affect the work life balance of women employees are working hours, Job satisfaction, working condition, etc. Which are key indicators in terms of measuring the work-life balance of women’s working in IT sector.

Driving transformation in higher education: Exploring the process and impact of educational innovations for sustainability through interdisciplinary studies

AbstractIn recent years, there has been a growing focus on innovation research, particularly in the manufacturing and information technology sectors in the US and Europe. However, the disruptions caused by the recent pandemic called for more innovations, especially in the education industry. Innovation is viewed as an outcome of a set of various drivers. This study explored faculty perspectives on the drivers of innovation that can transform the curriculum into an interdisciplinary model to promote sustainability in education. Additionally, it examined the relationship between these drivers and the outcome of innovation, particularly at the process level. An explanatory sequential mixed‐method approach was employed to collect quantitative and qualitative data from a purposeful sample of 60 faculty members at one federal higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates. Findings indicated that while there is a correlation between the drivers and process of innovation and sustainability in education, other factors played a more significant role in facilitating this transformation. Empowering faculty members and involving them in the process of transformation, connecting them with the institutional vision and mission for innovation, fostering a clear understanding of the value of the transformation, providing faculty with continuous professional learning and development opportunities to promote the use of innovative pedagogical methods, are among the key factors.

Equity Analysis on IT Sector Stocks

The investment in share market is highly rewarding but highly risky. The concept of analysis comes into picture when decision must be made on choosing a particular company's shares for investment. Analysis includes fundamental analysis. Fundamental analysis is a method of forecasting the future price movements of a financial instrument based on economic, political, environmental, and other relevant factors and statistics that will affect the basic supply and demand. This paper examined fundamental analysis of IT sector of the selected companies from the Information Technology sector, since IT sector is one of the most upcoming sectors in the Indian Market Secondary Data of last 5 year (2019-2023). The sample of the stocks for the purpose of collecting secondary data has been selected based on Random Sampling. For analysis the monthly share prices of the last 5 financial years is collected for ten leading IT companies. for the study through fundamental analysis is carried out by tools like Economic analysis, Industrial analysis and Company Analysis Key ratios include ROA, ROI, ROE, EPS, DPS, dividend payout ratio, dividend yield, and P/E ratio. The stocks are chosen in an unbiased manner and each stock is chosen independent of the other stocks chosen. The major findings are all IT sector companies performing very well and their fundamentals are very strong based on P/E ratio, EPS and Payout ratio. In this context, the relevance of studying scenario forecasts of changes in the socio-economic development of regions, taking into account information transformations, is undeniable.

Statistical analysis and open innovation in economic growth of scottish business SMEs for sustainable development

The propulsion of economic growth is a multifaceted construct, influenced by technology, capital, and resource management, with Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) being a significant contributors to innovation and employment. This study examines the growth of Scottish SMEs across four sectors over a 14-year period (2008–2021) by employing a novel statistical approach to understand their development trajectories within the framework of open innovation. The paper engaged in a longitudinal analysis to assess trends and inform policy for sustainable growth by the utilization of open-access data. Theoretical metrics such as the Average Growth Rate, Compound Average Growth Rate (CAGR), and Year-Over-Year (YoY) Growth were applied to evaluate sectoral performance. The findings revealed varied growth patterns; the information technology sector exhibited a robust increase, while the telecommunications sector showed significant percentage growth. Conversely, the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector experienced a decline that suggests a potential market gap. An affirmative trajectory in CAGR was observed in most sectors except ICT, which corroborates a shift in technological evolution and market needs. The study illuminates the dynamic economic landscape of Scottish SMEs, with telecoms emerging as the most prosperous sector in terms of growth rates, thus indicates a shifting economic focus. The study’s limitations are briefly discussed, in addition to the need for updated databases and further research employing predictive modeling with machine learning to enhance forecasting capabilities and foster open innovation for sustainable economic development.

Application of E-Services in the Urban Local Government in Bangladesh: A Study on Rajshahi City Corporation

Public sector information and communication technology (ICT) has a long history of using mainframe operations in the 1970s and microcomputing in the 1990s. It is recognized by the Government of Bangladesh that ICT has a development impact, as it enhances access to information, the quality of public service delivery and strengthens good governance practices. Since the ending of 2019, the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic has revived the importance of e-governance. In the initial stage of this climacteric period when people were socially distanced, restricted in quarantine, and not interacting face-to-face with each other created a whale of a ponderosas of e-governance in Bangladesh. Without any doubt, e-governance is the prime catalyst for urban development. Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is one of the oldest and leading municipalities in e-governance adaptation in Bangladesh. RCC, jointly with the local government division under the ministry of local government, has introduced e-governance through initiating an electronic birth registration information system (EBRIS) in 2001. This is one of the best paradigms for adapting e-governance at the urban local government level in Bangladesh. As a part of e-governance, RCC has launched Smart Auto-Rickshaw Management System (SARMS) to reduce traffic congestion on city roads. The study, based on primary sources of information, seeks to assess the role of SARMS in reducing traffic congestion on city streets as part of e-governance. In order to properly implement e-governance in Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), researchers have come up with two recommendations for e-service providers following two broad sections. A rich ICT infrastructure is a prerequisite for providing e-services to the recipients. This study is based on empirical research. This first section of this paper is equipped with the details of the respondents, overall opinions of the respondents on e-governance are covered by second section, the third section is depictured the status of e-services in RCC. However, the last section is enclosed by the specific opinions of the respondents on EBRIS and SARMS.

Recommendations for stakeholders center around adopting flexible learning models, fostering industry-academia partnerships, and emphasizing the development of both technical and soft skills. Finally, the study underscores the imperative for a proactive and collaborative approach to IT education and workforce development. By integrating advanced learning technologies and inclusive strategies, stakeholders can ensure the IT workforce remains agile and prepared to contribute innovatively in the face of technological advancements. This framework sets the foundation for future research and policy-making, aiming to enhance the resilience and diversity of the IT sector globally.

COMBATING BURNOUT IN THE IT INDUSTRY: A REVIEW OF EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING INITIATIVES

This study conducts a systematic literature review and content analysis to explore the effectiveness of employee well-being initiatives in combating burnout within the Information Technology (IT) industry. With the rapid pace of technological advancements and the high-pressure environment characteristic of the IT sector, burnout has emerged as a significant concern, affecting not only individual employees' mental and physical health but also organizational productivity and success. The primary objectives of this review were to identify the state of employee well-being in the IT industry, evaluate the current and potential future strategies for burnout prevention, and offer strategic directions for fostering a healthier workplace. Data were sourced from a comprehensive search across multiple academic and professional databases, focusing on studies published in English from 2000 to 2024 The inclusion criteria targeted research explicitly related to well-being initiatives in the IT sector, resulting in a selection of empirical studies, review articles, and grey literature for analysis.Key findings indicate a prevalent issue of burnout among IT professionals, driven by unique industry challenges. However, initiatives such as flexible work arrangements, leadership development, mental health support, and the use of AI for personalized well-being interventions show promise in mitigating these effects. The study concludes that fostering a culture of well-being and resilience within the IT industry requires a multifaceted approach, emphasizing the need for organizational commitment to employee health and continuous adaptation of well-being strategies to meet evolving workforce needs.

AGILE WORK CULTURES IN IT: A CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS OF HR'S ROLE IN FOSTERING INNOVATION SUPPLY CHAIN

This study systematically examines the role of Human Resources (HR) in fostering agile work cultures within the Information Technology (IT) sector, with a focus on enhancing the innovation supply chain. Through a comprehensive literature review and content analysis, this research explores how HR practices can support and drive the adoption of agile methodologies, thereby contributing to organizational flexibility, innovation, and competitive advantage. The methodology involved sourcing data from academic databases and grey literature, employing a strategic search strategy, and applying strict inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify relevant literature. The analysis highlighted the critical role of HR in developing agile leadership, fostering a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety, and leveraging HR technologies to enhance workforce agility. Key findings reveal that HR's strategic interventions in leadership development, learning and development frameworks, and the promotion of agile team dynamics are essential in cultivating an agile work culture. Furthermore, the study anticipates future challenges and opportunities in agile work cultures, including the integration of remote work models, artificial intelligence, and ensuring diversity and inclusion. Strategic recommendations for HR leaders and IT executives emphasize the importance of investing in agile leadership, enhancing team dynamics, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Finally, the study underscores the pivotal role of HR in enabling agile transformations within IT sectors. Future research directions include exploring the impact of emerging technologies on agile methodologies and the role of HR in fostering inclusive and diverse agile teams. This research contributes to the understanding of how agile practices supported by HR innovations can drive organizational success in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Occupational Health and Safety Reporting in the Top 100 Australian Companies: Does Organisational Risk Profile Matter?

Increasingly, good quality and safe working conditions that promote employee health are expected by stakeholders. The aim of this study is to examine the extent and quality of occupational health and safety (OHS) reporting in the Top 100 companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Method: Publicly available annual reports from the Top 100 ASX companies were reviewed using a policy scorecard against five dimensions drawn from the Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012–2022. The dimensions were: OHS information, legislation, leadership, work health disorders, prevention and best practice. Results: Mean rank scores of high and low-risk industry sectors were compared. High-risk sectors provided more explicit coverage of OHS information across all five domains in comparison to low-risk sectors (p > 0.05). The Information Technology sector scored the lowest across all five dimensions. Conclusion: Higher quality reporting from those in high-risk sectors may be influenced by stakeholder expectations, as well as industry norms. The current analysis suggests that relying on stakeholders to drive improved reporting may be problematic, as those industries that are perceived to have a low OHS risk profile may not consider the need to provide transparent reporting on their strategies to ensure they are providing good quality working conditions.
