The implementation of infrastructure and development of information technology (IT) services in educational environments such as schools and campuses plays an important role in supporting quality learning experiences. Regarding the introduction of IT infrastructure and service development in the educational environment. IT infrastructure covers various aspects such as providing hardware and software to meet educational needs, providing a reliable communications network, and ensuring data and information security. Services provided include training for teachers in the use of learning technology, technical support for students and staff, as well as implementation of related policies. With the right infrastructure, students and lecturers can access learning resources efficiently and interact in a technology-integrated learning environment. This service also plays an important role in increasing the technological literacy of students and teachers and ensuring the smooth operation of systems in educational environments. The services provided at schools can have a positive impact on improving the quality of education, preparing students to face the challenges of the digital world, and creating an inclusive and innovative learning environment. A holistic and coordinated implementation approach and ongoing support from all stakeholders will be key to achieving this goal.

Computational Methods and Artificial Intelligence in The Architectural Pre-Design Process (Case Study: House Design)

The current development of information technology infrastructure has positively impacted the ease with which people can carry out work activities physically and creatively. Artificial intelligence, which is currently starting to penetrate the world of visual design and architecture, is starting to develop from integrating design methods to methods of presenting or communicating architecture. In this study, aspects of artificial intelligence are used as a pre-design method, which is considered to help speed up decisions in design communication. The problem raised in this study is how optimal the involvement of computing and artificial intelligence is in providing pre-design considerations in the case of simple residential houses, especially in the analysis, space, and visual aspects. This study aims to obtain the methods and influence of computing and artificial intelligence in formulating pre-designs and generating understanding regarding the methods of their use. Several analysis tools are used for the spatial approach: the space syntax using DepthmapX software, solar analysis using the Shadedat plugin, and the visual shape of the building using Stable Diffusion. This research uses an experimental approach to obtain the desired design results. This study's findings explain that applying appropriate computational and artificial intelligence methods will produce an effective and efficient design process. With the correct sequence, it will have a measurable design process that can be assessed well.

With accelerated globalisation and ever-changing market conditions, effective logistics and supply chain management is becoming a critical success factor for companies of all sizes. Information systems enable more accurate demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and shorter delivery times, which ultimately contribute to the competitiveness of enterprises. An important component of effective logistics supply chain management is the integration of digital technologies. The research conducted analyses five key technologies – CRM, SCM, APS, MES and MRP, identifying their advantages and disadvantages. The impact of artificial intelligence in optimising logistics processes is also explored. The article also examines the process of global digitalisation in the logistics sector, including the adoption of the latest technologies and an analysis of possible threats to data security. Successful examples of the use of these technologies in various logistics companies are highlighted, and recommendations are given on the development of information technology infrastructure of enterprises and support for innovative projects in the field of logistics for effective adaptation to the rapidly changing digital requirements of society.

The Impact of Digital Innovation on Economic Growth

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the impact of technology infrastructure, digital lending, and digital payments on real per capita income, public health, and education levels. Theoretical framework: This study is built on the relationship between technology infrastructure, digital lending, and digital payments and their impact on economic and social outcomes. The study draws on theories of technology adoption and diffusion, financial inclusion, and human development. Design/methodology/approach: This study used quantitative research to examine how technology infrastructure, digital lending, and digital payments affect income, health, and education. The sample was data from 2015-2020, cleaned and analyzed using regression analysis in E-views. Findings: The findings revealed that technological infrastructure has a significant positive effect on real per capita income and public health, but a negative and insignificant effect on the education level. Digital lending was insignificantly positive for real per capita income and negatively insignificant for public health and education levels. In contrast, digital payments had a positive and significant impact on the health and education levels but a negative and insignificant effect on real per capita income. Research, Practical & Social implications: The study suggests that governments should prioritize the development of information technology infrastructure for SMEs to increase real per capita income and public health. Furthermore, relevant laws and regulations should be improved to ensure the development of digital payments, credit investigation systems, and standardized digital payment transactions to maintain financial security and stimulate consumer demand, ultimately promoting sustainable economic development. Originality/value: The originality of this study lies in its investigation of the impact of both technology infrastructure and digital finance on income, health, and education. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of addressing regulatory issues to ensure the safe and effective use of digital finance.

Internet of Things Impact on Web Technology and Enterprise Systems

It's been clearer over the last two decades that computer science plays a crucial role in the growth of every company. With each passing cycle, the IT industry blossoms a brand-new subfield. The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the idea of connecting any device to the Internet in order to interact with the consumer and convert it into an intelligent device; this is a relatively new concept in the realm of information technology (IT) and the Internet, but it is gaining popularity and importance in people's daily lives. The Internet of Things is predicted to play a pivotal role in the development of business IT infrastructure. With the help of IoT, we can link billions of smart gadgets that can talk to one another in an automated fashion. One of the most rapidly expanding fields in computer history, with an expected 50 billion devices by the end of 2020. Security techniques, such as encryption, authentication, access control, network security, and application security, are rendered useless when applied to Internet of Things (IoT) devices because of these inherent weaknesses. The Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted the attention of many academics and industry leaders, who have published studies and made statements on the significance of IoT architectural layers for corporate systems (ESs). This literature study included a wide variety of studies that implemented and developed IoT technology in several human domains, including healthcare, smart homes and cities, assisted charities, and monitoring systems. The article also detailed the computers and programs that facilitated each study. Plus, the reliable algorithm used in the research articles' tests and analyses of data. Lastly, drawing parallels between these publications helps to provide insight on the difficulties and possibilities facing potential IoT impact researchers in the industrial sector.

The role of social networks in enrollment strategy of universities in Vietnam

It is increasingly vital for universities to compete more and more to attract students with better input quality. Enrollment consultation has become an important part of the enrollment strategy of higher education institutions. In Vietnam, robust development of information technology infrastructure, declining prices of services and equipment and increasingly widespread applications of social networking have resulted in the growing role social media in communication and enrollment strategy of universities. This study compares the change in social media usage, specifically, videos on the social network facebook, as an important communication and enrollment promotion tool of 29 public universities in Hanoi in 2019 and 2020. The findings show that there is a strong growth in both quantity and quality of enrollment promotion videos over the past 2 years. The study also shows that fluctuations in the number of videos, video length, and enrolment quotas had an impact on the number of views of promotion videos on social networks. There are some implications that university managers might consider: enhancing reputation by taking various approaches, describing the program structure, explaining relevant skills and knowledge that learners may have, describing student life examples. University should also be aware of the benefits and importance of alumni and current students as well as university staff. University marketing managers can plan and execute effective marketing strategies at various levels to reach potential students, to engage with them through social networks and finally turn these interactions into applications.

The relationship between internet growth and implementation of the internet of things

Internet of Things (IoT) is actually not new in the world of information technology. Indonesia became the second largest country in terms of IoT implementation in Southeast Asia, Indonesia only lost to Thailand. The implementation of IoT has been carried out by several local companies such as Blue Bird, Pertamina Patra Niaga and Gojek. The IoT application has also been developed by several children of the nation such as Spekun and Qlue who are currently in the stage of business development. In the implementation of IoT several things become important to pay special attention to, including security systems, platforms, operating systems, communication standards and data analytics. Seeing the rapid development of IoT around the world, the Indonesian government is expected to be able to drive the development of IoT in Indonesia by assisting the development of information technology infrastructure and standardization in the implementation of IoT. In addition, the government is expected to be able to encourage the development of human resources that have capabilities not only as workers’ resources but also as creators of new technologies for the development of IoT. In the end, cooperation between the government, the private sector and the support of the Indonesian people is expected to make Indonesia have competitive advantages in the development of IoT, so that it can attract investors to enter Indonesia.

Industry 4.0 and the future challenges for the local community to manage eco-tourism (a case study of the participatory eco-tourism management in Menipo Island, West Timor, Indonesia)

Rapid development over the past two decades has brought us to the industrial revolution 4.0 era, where mastering information technology is an absolute thing for people to run their business. This situation is undoubtedly a challenge for the eco-tourism industry that involved local communities as well. This article aims to describe the current situations of the participatory eco-tourism management conducted by the local community and their strategies in dealing with the industrial era 4.0. The study was conducted in 2018 towards local people of Enoraen Village, Amarasi Timur District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, as the actors of eco-tourism management. The data and information in this paper are obtained using a quantitative method through the structured interview using questionnaires (n=100) and qualitative methods by collecting scientific writings published in journals and proceedings. This article concludes that there is a gap between the ability of local communities to access knowledge about information technology with massive demands for the use of this technology. We suggest that the development of information technology infrastructure and internet networks must reach remote villages. Furthermore, communities need assistance from any parties in order to be able to use these accesses to support eco-tourism management in Menipo.

E-Entrepreneurship and Economic Development: the Case of EU Countries

AbstractThe aim of our paper is to identify how entrepreneurs from European Union (EU) countries use information and communications technologies (ICTs) in their business activities. We also propose to identify if there are differences in the use of ICTs by entrepreneurs, according to level of economic development of EU countries. In order to achieve these goals, we analyse a sample of EU countries, by including them into two groups, according to the stage of their economic development. For analysing the data, we use several methods (the logical-constructive method, comparative methods and benchmarking). The benchmarking method helps us to estimate indicators at country level and to compare them between countries. Our results indicate that e-entrepreneurship in developed countries is more advanced compared to developing countries. There are also significant differences regarding the use of informational technologies between types of firms by their size. Small enterprises use in a lower proportion ICTs in their activity compared with large firms. Through the content of our research, we emphasize that in order to adapt to the rapid changing environment and also to the changes in the consumer’s behaviour the enterprises should focus on introducing the ICTs in their activity to face the competition. Also, government policies should pay more attention to supporting development of information technology infrastructure.

Strategy to Use Local Government’s Facebook Page to Improve Public Services

The population of internet users in Indonesia increase continuously form year to year along with the development of information technology infrastructure in Indonesia. This underlies the management of social media in the government agencies. The government sector could communicated with the citizens through social media such as Facebook as a form of direct communication to disseminate information for the citizens. Through current government social media accounts, it could be seen that the posting of official government Facebook account were still rare. Based on existing studies, it has not yet been reviewed the relationship of post and comment categorization on Facebook to improve the government's Facebook management strategy and public service improvement strategy. Therefore, this study was conducted so that the results could help the local government to maximize the management of Facebook accounts to be right on target, provide trustful information, and get a good response from the citizens. There were 30 Local Government Facebook accounts that have been analysed, resulting number of statuses and comment ranks in last 2 months. Then performing frequency analysis on 30-often-used words which will be used as a trigger to categorize. The results of the study are in the form of strategic suggestions for local governments to improve the content of each category through Facebook. Local governments are suggested to convey information from many aspects in a balanced manner in accordance with the needs of the citizens.

Palliative Care in the Caribbean Through the Lens of Women With Breast Cancer

Purpose Across the Caribbean, too many women are presenting with advanced breast cancer and dying with little or no access to palliative care. No comprehensive assessment of the current capacity to deliver palliative care in the region exists, largely because of limited data. Cancer is the second leading cause of death, and significant numbers of patients present with advanced disease. Breast cancer is no exception, with an incidence rate of more than 26% and a mortality rate accounting for 17% of all cancer-related deaths in women. In this paper, we assess the challenges and opportunities that are faced by small island states in delivering palliative care through the lens of women with breast cancer. Methods We performed a systematic review of the literature on palliative care provision in the region. Background information and country statistics were obtained from recognized databases, such as GLOBOCAN and Pan American Health Organization country cancer profiles, and information on opioid usage from the Pain and Policy Study Group. Much of the detailed information gleaned for this paper was through personal communication. Results Palliative care provision in the Caribbean exists in isolated pockets throughout the region. Capturing data on the palliative care capacity in the Caribbean was challenging, as electronic health records and robust data collection is not yet the norm. Challenges included insufficient health care infrastructure to support the spectrum of cancer care, tremendous unmet need for palliative care, pervasive opiophobia that resulted in limited access to opioids for pain relief, patients’ reluctance to engage early with clinical care, and widespread use of complementary and alternative medicines before the acceptance of conventional care. Conclusion This is the first study to our knowledge to examine the extent of palliative care service provision across the Caribbean. We conclude that there is an urgent need to improve access to palliative care and pain relief for patients with cancer in the region. Our proposed solutions include strengthening regional collaboration through policy and guideline development, human resource training, improved availability and accessibility of opioid medicines, and in-country development of information technology infrastructure to support patient care and research. Analisis Maturity Level Business Goals 8 Menggunakan COBIT Pada PT. APLIN


 PT. APLIN is one of the companies engaged in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that serves a variety of customer needs in terms of communication and networking. The dynamic development of IT (Information Technology) resulted in changes in customer needs. PT. APLIN is updating regularly used IT and strives to provide services to meet customer needs. This research was conducted using COBIT 4.1 framework to find out maturity level in four IT process ie PO3 (Determining Technology Direction), AI5 (Procurement of IT Resources), DS2 (Managing Third Party Service) and DS6 (Identifying and Allocating Fees). Where these four IT processes are part of the business goals of achieving cost optimization from service delivery in the customer's perspective. The results showed that the maturity level was at the level of Repeatable but Intuitive for TI processors PO3, DS2 and DS6. While the IT AI5 process is at the Defined level. Planning mechanism of IT resource procurement and budget planning at PT. APLIN is appropriate and well documented. Companies need to improve IT infrastructure development mechanisms and maintain vendor performance relationships or third parties.

Real Time MODBUS Transmissions and Cryptography Security Designs and Enhancements of Protocol Sensitive Information

Information technology (IT) security has become a major concern due to the growing demand for information and massive development of client/server applications for various types of applications running on modern IT infrastructure. How has security been taken into account and which paradigms are necessary to minimize security issues while increasing efficiency, reducing the influence on transmissions, ensuring protocol independency and achieving substantial performance? We have found cryptography to be an absolute security mechanism for client/server architectures, and in this study, a new security design was developed with the MODBUS protocol, which is considered to offer phenomenal performance for future development and enhancement of real IT infrastructure. This study is also considered to be a complete development because security is tested in almost all ways of MODBUS communication. The computed measurements are evaluated to validate the overall development, and the results indicate a substantial improvement in security that is differentiated from conventional methods.

The role of IT-enabled collaborative decision making in inter-organizational information integration to improve customer service performance

While inter-organizational information integration is believed to benefit supply chain management (SCM), prior studies have shown mixed results. Based on Organizational Information Processing Theory, we question this belief and highlight the importance of information technology (IT)-enabled collaborative decision making to deliver performance benefits and the contingency of the integration–collaboration–performance link on IT infrastructure to establish electronic connections in a supply chain. Analyzing the survey data collected from a sample of 188 trading companies, we find a positive structural relationship between inter-organizational information integration and IT-enabled collaborative decision making, leading to customer service performance, when a high level of IT infrastructure development is present. Our post hoc analysis verifies these empirical findings. For practicality, we propose an empirical taxonomy of firms for managerial reference in developing IT infrastructure in support of linking inter-organizational information integration with IT-enabled collaborative decision making.

Rating E-Rate: Evaluating the U.S. Schools and Libraries Program

Publicly financed libraries play a unique role in providing Internet access to traditionally marginalized segments of the population in the US. Libraries are particularly useful in addressing the difficult and costly problem of targeting Internet subsidies to those requiring assistance, since library patrons of computer and Internet services self-select these forms of access. Previous research has shown that the popularity of these service offerings in libraries offset what would otherwise have been a secular decline in the number of library visitors over time. This paper analyzes the effectiveness of the major federal funding mechanism for U.S. libraries’ information technology infrastructure development, the so-called “E-Rate” program, in channeling Internet subsidies to libraries in poor and rural areas. Explicitly directed to channel funding to smaller, poorer, and more rural public entities (including but not limited to libraries), this program has been subjected to fierce procedural critiques since its very inception. Our analysis of this program offers empirical support for some of these criticisms. Statistical models of the distribution of E-Rate funds suggest that these funds are not being allocated in a manner that fully reflects the stated program objectives. The current E-Rate program seems particularly unhelpful in stimulating library connectivity in rural areas.

정보화 전략과 기업 전략의 연계가 정보기술 하부구조 구축에 미치는 영향: 전략적 성과평가시스템의 역할

The influence factors on the development of information technology(IT) infrastructure for knowledge management(KM) were not empirically investigated and identified. This study empirically examines the relationships among strategic performance measurement systems(SPMS), organizational learning, the strategic alignment of business strategy with information systems(IS) strategy, which is the necessary condition to provide the kinds of knowledge required for the successful realization of business strategy, and the active construction of IT infrastructure for KM. This study demonstrates that SPMS directly affects the organizational learning, with which the members of an organization acquire the types of knowledge about strategic goals or objectives and the ways attaining these goals, and indirectly influences the IS strategic alignment through organizational learning. Thus, the alignment between business strategy and IS strategy can be facilitated and activated by the adoption and implementation of SPMS. According to the results of this study, it is observed that the IS strategic alignment and organizational learning positively affect the activation of the development of KM IT infrastructure in a firm. The results of this study also shows that the construction of KM IT infrastructure, which supports the realization of KM activities, such as knowledge creation, transfer and sharing, can enhance the strategic position of a firm, and the intensified competitiveness of a firm can lead to the improvement of performance.

Towards Digital Economy: The Development of ICT and E-Commerce in Malaysia

Information and communication technologies (ICT) are one of the important determinants for the rapid growth of E-Commerce transactions all over the world. The upshot of ICT and the initiative by Malaysian government flourish online businesses in the country. The aim of this paper is to show the potential growth of ICT and the development of E-Commerce in Malaysia. The impact of internet usage, internet disclosure, internet experience and the improvement of ICT have positive implications for the information technology (IT) infrastructure and for the E-Commerce development in the country. Finding shows that the behavior of internet users for purchasing online is changing through the growth of ICT and IT infrastructure. The increasing rate of internet users, online spending and adopting of new technologies are the key drivers for the development of E-Commerce in Malaysia. Government initiatives for the development of IT infrastructure and E-Commerce have shown a positive feedback from the businesses all over the country. This study may enable the decision makers of the developing countries to adopt the initiatives and steps of the Malaysian government as a role model for the development of E-Commerce and knowledge base economy. This paper also provides the background of the ICT dependency, its influence on purchase intentions and the development of E-Commerce in Malaysia.

Communication and electronic access ‐ medical radiation science clinical centres' perspective

AbstractThe last decade has seen a dramatic increase in the availability and use of electronic devices and information in day‐to‐day lives and in the workplace. The tertiary education sector has embraced the electronic age and has, in our cases, taken the lead with innovative use of information technology (IT). While the flexibility IT provides appeals to students and creates new opportunities, the IT infrastructure and staff development required to make full use of the new facilities requires significant investment. The aim of this study was to survey medical radiation science professional centres to assess the availability of IT resources, determine who has access to the IT resources and sample staff attitudes towards their preferred method of communication with the university. A questionnaire was mailed to each Chief Nuclear Medicine Scientist, Chief Radiation Therapist and Chief Radiographer for each clinical centre that participated in The University of Newcastle's clinical placement program (PPS). One hundred and thirty one questionnaires were returned, a response rate of 51%. Twenty‐seven responses from nuclear medicine centres (50%), twenty‐four responses from radiation therapy centres (70%) and 80 responses from diagnostic radiography centres (48%). The majority (85%) of respondents reported they had between three and 30 computers where staff could access the internet, word processing and email. The preferred method of communication was email (52%) versus letter (30%) and telephone (17%). In the event that work load increased, email was a preferred method of communication where the preference for telephone and letters decreased.

A Global Investigation of Granger Causality between Information Infrastructure Investment and Service-Sector Growth

Over the past two decades, both developed and developing countries have been investing a significant portion of their resources in the creation of an information infrastructure. However, speculation abounds regarding the efficacy of information infrastructure investments, especially when the opportunity cost for investing in information technology (IT) is measurably high among developing nations. This longitudinal study introduces and explores infrastructure development and service-sector growth as key metrics for IT investment success. It also traces the notional evidence of IT infrastructure development as mediating the causal relationship between information infrastructure investments and service-sector growth. Using data from low-income, middle-income, and high-income countries, the mediating and lagged impact of information infrastructure on service-sector growth reveals that information infrastructure development does play a significant role as a mediator. It points out that information infrastructure investments can be a misleading causal antecedent if countries fail to develop their infrastructure. It also provides evidence of a recursive relationship between infrastructure development and service-sector growth. An exploratory time-series analysis across different country categories suggests that information infrastructures must be properly developed to reconcile the paradox. In addition, exploratory tests reveal a distinct divergence between infrastructure investments and infrastructure development among different country tiers.

Dimensions of national culture and corporate adoption of IT infrastructure

Corporate adoption of information technology (IT) infrastructure is a critical management issue that may be affected by national culture. Prior research has shown that dimensions of national culture affect development of national IT infrastructure as well as adoption and impact of IT applications. This study explores the impact of two dimensions of national culture (uncertainty avoidance and power distance) on the adoption of a type of IT infrastructure (frame relay). A multinational survey was carried out, and it yielded useable responses from 153 businesses from 24 countries. The results demonstrated that businesses from higher uncertainty avoidance countries were less likely to adopt frame relay. A one-point increase in Hofstede's uncertainty avoidance index for the country of incorporation was associated with a 3% lower likelihood of adopting frame relay. Power distance was not significantly correlated with adoption of frame relay. These results highlight the relevance of dimensions of national culture as factors affecting corporate adoption of IT infrastructure. Implications for practice and further research are presented.
