Developments in the economic sector so far have had quite rapid consequences in the business world, this has resulted in differences in sales at the market level. The market itself is a meeting place for buyers and sellers to make buying and selling transactions of goods or services. Tulangan Market is a traditional market located in the District of Tulangan, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. In the Reinforcement Market there are several types of sellers such as retail traders, wholesalers and kiosks which are scattered in almost all corners of the market. Implementation of Infaq and Zakat Management Information System Case Study at Al-Hikmah Toyan Mosque

Information on the management of infaq and zakat funds on the scale of the mosque environment so far still carries out all activities and transactions conventionally. This makes it difficult to monitor the total income, expenditure, and balance of available funds, even though it is also necessary to detail the funds needed to see cash flow to analyse several submission items for activities that determine the progress of the mosque in serving worshippers. This problem is the basis for making additions to help improve better management and use the latest information technology as websites using the Laravel framework and MySql databases. Laravel framework is the best framework with PHP programming language. This application only focuses on managing infaq and receiving zakat. Using an information system website, the infaq and zakat management process can be done automatically to become faster, more precise, and more accurate.

Simple and Multi Risk Assessment Framework for Information Security using Process Flow Diagram

Organizations need a simple risk assessment framework to understand them. In contrast, risk analysis requires some mathematical tools to be able to estimate risk based on understanding and availability. In practice, the assets, for which the risk will be calculated, are dependent on one another, resulting in inevitable complexity. We propose a framework that addresses these three situations with a process flow diagram. Simplicity is obtained from a conceptual model based on data flow diagrams which are widely used in information system design. This conceptual model can be translated into several risk models at once: graph, Boolean algebra, Boole’s algebra, and set theory. The complexity of asset dependencies is overcome when translating the conceptual model to the risk model. Solutions were shown in case studies of information systems for COVID-19 personal protective equipment in Indonesia, which require the construction of a simple information system, support multiple risk models, and take into account asset dependencies. The multi-risk model enables implementation proofing by testing the risk models used in each other.

Flood Risk Zoning Using Geographical Information System Case Study: Khorramabad Flood in April 2019

Today, there are varieties of methods for determining the risk of flooding in different areas of a catchment. However, the use of GIS-based weighting is receiving increasing attention among researchers. In early 2019, severe and continuous floods occurred in some provinces of Iran. Khorramabad was one of the cities most affected by the floods. Regrettably, during the construction development of Khorramabad city, the minimum distance from roads was violated. In this study, flood risks in the area were zoned using a GIS-weighted overlay algorithm. Flood zoning was done based on various maps indicating factors such as rainfall, distance from the waterway, soil composition, waterway density, slope, soil permeability, land use, and vegetation. The flooding area then was parceled into six categories with return periods of 10, 30, and 50 years. As a result, the city was divided into three critical areas in terms of flood risk. The results indicate that the confluence of the Karganeh and Khorram–Rud rivers lacks sufficient capacity to withstand and repel floods. As a result, the city will suffer severe damage in future floods.

BPAOntoSOA is a generic framework that generates a service model from a given organisational business process architecture. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) traceability is essentially important to facilitate change management and support reusability of an SOA; it has a wide application in the development and maintenance process. Such a traceability network is not available for BPAOntoSOA framework. This paper introduces an ontology-based traceability network for BPAOntoSOA framework that semantically generates trace links between services and business process architectural elements in both forward and backward directions. The proposed traceability approach was evaluated using the postgraduate faculty information system case study in order to assess the framework behaviour in general. As a continued evaluation effort, a group of parameters have been selected to create an evaluation criterion, which was used to compare the BPAOntoSOA trace solution to one of the most related traceability frameworks, STraS traceability framework.

Application program "Intangible Cultural Heritage Information System Case Study: Balai Pelestarian Nilai Budaya (BPNB) West Java aims to complete the intangible cultural heritage data documentation system at the West Java Cultural Preservation Hall (BPNB) and help provide media for recording heritage data intangible culture. This application program uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method which is carried out in several stages, namely the planning phase, the analysis phase, the design phase, and the implementation phase.This application program uses several design tools, namely Flowcharts, Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Context Diagrams and Relationships Between Tables. This application program uses MySQL as a database, XAMPP as a link between the database and display, PHP as a programming language and display settings application Testing this application uses the Black Box Testing method and User Acceptance Test (UAT). Based on the trials conducted it can be concluded that the program created can be run and can assist users in completing the documentation of intangible cultural heritage data.

Quality Control of Soil Water Data in Applied Climate Information System—Case Study in Nebraska

Soil moisture is a key state variable from both climate and hydrologic cycle assessment perspectives. Recently, automated measurements of soil moisture with sensors deployed at sites in a real-time monitoring network have provided valuable new data to monitor the soil water resource. However, to assure the quality of the data, quality control (QC) tools are needed. Earlier studies left little literature on the QC of soil water data as measurements were generally not part of a network that routinely collected measurements. This paper presents a systematic QC analysis and methodology to evaluate the performance of candidate QC techniques using a spatially-extensive soil water data set. The six tests included are based on the general behavior of soil moisture, the statistical characteristics of the measurements, the soil properties, and the precipitation measurements. The threshold, step change, and spatial regression test proved most effective in identifying data problems. The results demonstrate that these methods will lead to early identification of potential instrument failures and other disturbances to the soil water measurements.

Applying the Morphogenetic Approach

With its emphasis on analytical dualism and its detailed account of the concepts and methods necessary for its application, Margaret Archer's morphogenetic approach seems to provide significant potential for empirical research. Over a decade after its publication, however, the potential of the approach remains largely unrealised. This paper seeks to begin to address this situation by reporting on and assessing the application of the morphogenetic approach to a longitudinal case study of information systems (IS) development and organisational change in British local government. This assessment confirms Archer's claims for the approach's value as an instrument for the production of non-conflationary practical social theory. In addition, certain features of the methodology moved the analysis of IS and organisational change beyond that of more mainstream approaches used for this type of research. However, a range of issues are identified which demonstrate that the complexity and resulting resource intensity of the approach may well work against its more widespread adoption for empirical research.

Doing interpretive research

Interpretive research in information systems (IS) is now a well-established part of the field. However, there is a need for more material on how to carry out such work from inception to publication. I published a paper a decade ago (Walsham, 1995) which addressed the nature of interpretive IS case studies and methods for doing such research. The current paper extends this earlier contribution, with a widened scope of all interpretive research in IS, and through further material on carrying out fieldwork, using theory and analysing data. In addition, new topics are discussed on constructing and justifying a research contribution, and on ethical issues and tensions in the conduct of interpretive work. The primary target audience for the paper is less-experienced IS researchers, but I hope that the paper will also stimulate reflection for the more-experienced IS researcher and be of relevance to interpretive researchers in other social science fields.

Applying the organizational failure diagnosis model to the study of information systems failure

Information Organization to Assist Knowledge Discovery: Case Studies with Non-Bibliographic Databases

SUMMARY Enumerates various paths that may lead to knowledge discovery (KD). Most of these paths begin from knowing what exists. To know what exists about an entity requires comprehensively assembling relevant data and information, in-depth analysis of the information, and identifying relations among the concepts in the related and even apparently unrelated subjects. Provision has to be made to reorganize and synthesize the information retrieved and/or that obtained through observation, experiment, survey, etc. Information and communication technologies (ICT) have considerably augmented the capabilities of information systems. Such ICT applications may range from the simple to sophisticated computerized systems, with data gathered using aerial photography, remote sensing, satellite imagery, large radar and planetary telescopes and many other instrument records of phenomena, as well as downloading via the Internet. While classification helps in data prospecting and data mining, for it to assist the KD process effectively it has to be supplemented with good indexes, hypertext links, access to statistical and modeling techniques, etc. Computer software assists text analysis, complex data manipulation, computation, statistical analysis, concept mapping, etc. But manual information systems can also assist KD. Enumerates several prerequisites to KD and relevant tools and techniques to be incorporated into information support systems. This article discusses ways to operationalise the concept of culturally appropriate computer-mediated communication, utilising information systems (IS) development methodologies and adopting a postmodern and postcolonial perspective. By way of illustration, it describes progress on the participative development of the Ieramugadu Cultural Information System. This project is designed to develop and evaluate innovative procedures for elicitation, analysis, storage and communication of indigenous cultural heritage information. It is investigating culturally appropriate IS design techniques, multimedia approaches and ways to ensure protection of secret/sacred information. Ethical issues are foregrounded.

A Set of Principles for Conducting and Evaluating Interpretive Field Studies in Information Systems

This article discusses the conduct and evaluatoin of interpretive research in information systems. While the conventions for evaluating information systems case studies conducted according to the natural science model of social science are now widely accepted, this is not the case for interpretive field studies. A set of principles for the conduct and evaluation of interpretive field research in information systems is proposed, along with their philosophical rationale. The usefulness of the principles is illustrated by evaluating three published interpretive field studies drawn from the IS research literature. The intention of the paper is to further reflect and debate on the important subject of grounding interpretive research methodology.

Improving software maintenance by learning from the past: a case study

Although it is common to view software maintenance as an activity that is distinct from software development, it is often true that the development it is often true that the development of novel products is mixed in with the evolution of existing products. Examples are families of similar applications, such as communications processors, that share considerable functionality, and a large scale information system that acts as a base for new tasks. In these situations, the maintenance process involves the adaptation of previous experience to new requirements. The author explores this type of environment, first by examining the software process, and then by relating the key activities to maintenance. An information system case study is used to illustrate how the experience of the past can be structured to facilitate future modifications. >
