CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS FOR SCALING DATA FLOWS IN THE INDUSTRY 4.0 ECOSYSTEM IN INDUSTRY AND BUSINESS

The information technology integration processes into manufacturing and logistics are often described by the term "Industry 4.0". This term includes various approaches in digitalization, automation and interconnection in various industrial sectors. The integration of advanced technologies into manufacturing creates large flows of data that conventional industry information systems are often unable to process and respond to in a timely manner. That can create delays and errors that can lead to inefficiencies in supply chains, delays in production, and communication between industrial sectors in addition in problems of transparency and accountability of information systems in the "Industry 4.0" ecosystem, problems with security, data integrity, real-time process tracking, etc. Therefore, it is an important task to research new methods of managing data flows in information systems in the "Industry 4.0" ecosystem, which can improve interaction and accelerate the adoption of information technologies in industry and logistics.

Solar Irradiance Forecasting with Natural Language Processing of Cloud Observations and Interpretation of Results with Modified Shapley Additive Explanations

Forecasting the generation of solar power plants (SPPs) requires taking into account meteorological parameters that influence the difference between the solar irradiance at the top of the atmosphere calculated with high accuracy and the solar irradiance at the tilted plane of the solar panel on the Earth’s surface. One of the key factors is cloudiness, which can be presented not only as a percentage of the sky area covered by clouds but also many additional parameters, such as the type of clouds, the distribution of clouds across atmospheric layers, and their height. The use of machine learning algorithms to forecast the generation of solar power plants requires retrospective data over a long period and formalising the features; however, retrospective data with detailed information about cloudiness are normally recorded in the natural language format. This paper proposes an algorithm for processing such records to convert them into a binary feature vector. Experiments conducted on data from a real solar power plant showed that this algorithm increases the accuracy of short-term solar irradiance forecasts by 5–15%, depending on the quality metric used. At the same time, adding features makes the model less transparent to the user, which is a significant drawback from the point of view of explainable artificial intelligence. Therefore, the paper uses an additive explanation algorithm based on the Shapley vector to interpret the model’s output. It is shown that this approach allows the machine learning model to explain why it generates a particular forecast, which will provide a greater level of trust in intelligent information systems in the power industry.

Implementation of Simagin (Industrial Internship Information System) Based on a Website at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif PSDKU Makassar, , Indonesia

The research article presents the implementation of the SIMAGIN (Industrial Internship Information System) at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif PSDKU Makassar to address the inefficiencies in managing industrial internship activities. The system, developed using the extreme programming (XP) methodology, aims to streamline the internship process by facilitating registration, monitoring student activities, and enabling transparent information about available internship positions. The web-based system was designed to benefit students by providing efficient access to internship partner companies and enhancing the quality of their internship experiences. The research also emphasizes the use of black-box testing to ensure the system’s functionality. The study concludes that the implemented system successfully improves the industrial internship process and recommends further refinements, including the exploration of mobile applications. Overall, the research aims to significantly benefit the institution and students participating in the industrial internship program by enhancing the quality and efficiency of the internship experience.

The implementation of a practice-oriented approach in teaching students of technical universities based on the development of a digital twin of the information system of an industrial enterprise

Introduction. In teaching future engineers and mechanics, difficulties arise when they study such disciplines as Theoretical Mechanics and Strength of Materials. As a rule, this is due to the need to consolidate students’ acquired theoretical knowledge. However, carrying out a sufficient number of strength tests of products is associated with significant financial costs, so it is often economically expensive to obtain results by implementing physical experiments, and in some cases it is simply impossible. In this regard, for teaching it is advisable to use accurate distributed dynamic mathematical and software models of objects, that is, digital twins. Materials and methods. As a prototype of a digital twin, an information system of an industrial enterprise was considered, designed to monitor the stress-strain state of a beam using strain gauge data. 198 students and 8 teachers from the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology and the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (Russian Federation) took part in testing the methodology. Methods of mathematical statistics: Pearson's chi-squared test, survey and correlation analysis. Results. As a result of the introduction of teaching methods based on the use of a digital twin, situations were created that required students to critically analyze and include metacognitive skills. The implementation of practice-oriented training when working with a digital twin of an information system of an industrial enterprise has an impact on the academic performance of students (χ2 = 4.08; p < 0.05) and allows students to firmly consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which will subsequently allow the formation of sustainable professional competencies. Scientific novelty. The study revealed that learning using a digital twin contributes to a more controlled passage of the curriculum by students, develops qualities such as self-control and self-discipline, and stimulates cognitive interest in a specific academic discipline and the educational process in general. Practical relevance. The main advantage of introducing a digital twin of an industrial enterprise information system into the learning process is the effectiveness of this approach in terms of consolidating and developing practical skills among students. In addition, teaching using digital twins is particularly useful for preparation activities in high-risk industries, where practice at real-life facilities is impossible or difficult.

The article examines the problems and relevance of digital transformation in the industrial sector of the Russian Federation. It is noted that this process represents a multifaceted and complex transition from traditional production methods to the integration of advanced technologies aimed at increasing the efficiency, flexibility and competitiveness of enterprises. The focus is on reimagining production process management to achieve significant improvements in productivity. The importance of the successful implementation of the “Digital Passport” for industrial enterprises and the promotion of the concept of “digital maturity” is emphasized. The latter provides frameworks and key indicators aimed at achieving specific results in the context of the development of industrial enterprises. The article substantiates the system for assessing digital maturity, providing a detailed overview of projects related to the integration of enterprise accounting systems with GISP (State Industrial Information System). The emphasis is on the undeniable significance of modern trends in the digital transformation of industrial enterprises.

Analysis of the Benefits of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud IT/Is Investment in the Case of PT XYZ

PT XYZ is one of the largest telecommunication companies in Indonesia. In 2020, PT XYZ implemented a digital transformation to increase its excellence by investing in industry telecommunication and information systems (IT/IS) enterprise resource planning software called SAP (System Application and Processing) S/4 HANA Cloud. The study aims to analyze the benefits of these IT investments made in PT XYZ. The results are carried out using the Comparative Analysis of Financial Statements followed by Business Value and Financial Feasibility Analysis and the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) method between 2018 and 2021. It can be revealed that the SAP S/4 Hana Cloud investment benefits the company's operations, which are identified in the form of 5 sub-categories that fall into required categories based on Ranti's Generic IT/IS Business Value.

Investigating the role of Cybersecurity's perceived threats in the adoption of health information systems

Information technology is one of the most rapidly growing technologies globally. Over the last decade, its usage in healthcare has been remarkable. Over the last decade, its usage in healthcare has been remarkable. The study examines the impact of various factors as barriers to adopting the information system in healthcare. These factors are categorized into three major types: external attacks, which include phishing attacks and ransomware; employee factors, including lack of skills and the issue of information misuse; and technological factors, including complexity and vulnerability. The findings show that external attacks and technological factors are the main barriers to adopting information systems, while employee factors have no significant impact on the adoption of information systems in the healthcare industry of Pakistan. The study provides implications for healthcare policy makers, professionals and organziations regarding the successful adoption of health information system.

Management of data flows in modern industry using blockchain

Recent research and publications. "Industry 4.0" is a concept of the industrial revolu-tion, which is based on the use of modern technologies and digital innovations in production and distribution processes. The introduction of the concept of "Industry 4.0" was designed to improve the competitiveness of European industry and increase productivity and product quality. A blockchain is a distributed data structure that is replicated and distributed among network members. The purpose of the study is to improve automation processes, increase efficiency, re-duce delays and errors in information systems of industry and supply chains by using block-chain technologies in the construction of information systems. Main material of the study. The paper makes an analysis of approaches and algorithms to data management in "Industry 4.0" information systems. Blockchain algorithms are com-pared to classical approach with other databases in the client-server architecture. Conclusions. By implementing algorithms based on blockchain technology, namely by using the Merkle Tree, digital signature technology, and by using consensus algorithms in the framework of decentralized data storage in Distributed Ledger Technology, the processes of automation and efficiency in data flow management are improved, providing a secure and transparent way to store and share data that reduces delays and errors in industry informa-tion systems and supply chains.

Impact of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) On Internal Auditors: A Comparative Study between Bangladesh and Turkey

Technological improvements have led to a widespread use of accounting information systems (AIS) in companies and industries across the globe. Moreover, AIS offers thorough and trustworthy information to both internal and external users by typically focusing on six main areas: people, procedures, data, software, IT infrastructure, and internal controls. The aim of this study is to determine how AIS have affected internal auditors in Bangladesh and how those effects compare to or diverge from those found in a related and unique study carried out in Turkey. Both primary and secondary sources were used to gather the data. Using close-ended self-administered questionnaires I analyzed the impact of accounting information systems on internal auditors in Bangladesh and using cross-country analysis measured these results against a similar study conducted in Turkey. In this work, SPSS is employed for validation. I posed 12 questions in the questionnaire, and 60 internal auditors from multiple sectors and various regions of Bangladesh responded. The results strongly indicate that internal auditors in Bangladesh believe that AIS contributes positively to their work, and the conclusions are remarkably similar to those of the prior study conducted in Turkey. This study definitively answers the question regarding the positive impact of AIS on internal auditors in Bangladesh and having similarities with Turkey. This study is relevant to a wide range of professions, not only internal auditors, because it emphasizes the relevance of information technology in the corporate world.

PIONEER OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND CYBERNETICS <i>ON THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF ACADEMICIAN V.M. GLUSHKOV</i>

The article is devoted to the life and work of the outstanding Soviet scientist, pioneer of informatics and cybernetics, initiator of the development of a nationwide automated management information system, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Viktor Mikhailovich Glushkov (1923–1982). The author tells about the main stages of his biography, focusing on the scientific achievements: the solution of the fifth generalized Hilbert problem, the creation of the USSR’s largest Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, the development of the theory of digital automata, the first personal computers for engineering calculations, the most powerful supercomputers in the USSR with a new macro-pipeline architecture, contribution to cybernetics and computer science, programming theory and systems of algorithmic algebras, to the creation of artificial intelligence systems. Attention is paid to the role of V.M. Glushkov as an ideologist and one of the creators of the industry of management information systems in the USSR, scientific director of large industrial management information systems. Particular attention is paid to the National Automated System for the Collection and Processing of Information proposed by him for accounting, planning and management of the national economy.

노후 산업단지 유형화와 유형별 특성 분석

The government has implemented a variety of regeneration projects for old industrial complexes and declined regions. Due to the promotion of policies and projects focused on each target place, however, there is a lack of policy linkages among them. This study intends to categorize old industrial complexes nationwide and analyze the characteristics of each type while considering industrial complexes and surrounding regions. Ten indicators are selected to implement the principal component analysis using data from the national industrial complex status, industrial location information system, and statistical geographic information system. Based on the factor score produced by the principal component analysis, the cluster analysis indicates that there are four types of old industrial complexes: large sustaining and developing complex type, small growing complex type, old declining complex type and region-linked complex type. The old declining industrial complex continues to decline due to weak economy of both the complexes and surrounding areas, and the residential environment. Industrial restructuring and industrial complex regeneration projects are needed to strengthen the competitiveness of the complexes. Regeneration strategies for each type of industrial complex is required in consideration of the physical and economic characteristics of both the complexes and the surrounding areas.

Анализ рисков информационной безопасности в пищевой промышленности с использованием системы нечеткого вывода

Recently, different attempts have been made to characterize information security threats, particularly in the industrial sector. Yet, there have been a number of mysterious threats that could jeopardize the safety of food processing industry data, information, and resources. This research paper aims to increase the efficiency of information security risk analysis in food processing industrial information systems, and the participants in this study were experts in executive management, regular staff, technical and asset operators, third-party consultancy companies, and risk management professionals from the food processing sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. A questionnaire and interview with a variety of questions using qualitative and quantitative risk analysis approaches were used to gather the risk identifications, and the fuzzy inference system method was also applied to analyze the risk factor in this paper. The findings revealed that among information security concerns, electronic data in a data theft threat has a high-risk outcome of 75.67%, and human resource management (HRM) in a social engineering threat has a low-risk impact of 26.67%. Thus, the high-probability risk factors need quick action, and the risk components with a high probability call for rapid corrective action. Finally, the root causes of such threats should be identified and controlled before experiencing detrimental effects. It's also important to note that primary interests and worldwide policies must be taken into consideration while examining information security in food processing industrial information systems.

Operations-aware novelty detection framework for CNC machine tools: proposal and application

Digitisation offers manufacturing companies new opportunities to improve their operations and competitiveness in the market by unleashing potentialities related to real-time monitoring and control of operating machines. Through condition-based and predictive maintenance, the knowledge about the health state and probability of failure of the machines is improved for better decision-making. Amongst them, CNC machine tools do represent a complex case from a maintenance viewpoint as their operations are ever-changing and their high reliability brings to a lack, or limited set, of run-to-failure data. To address the problem, the research work proposes an operations-aware novelty detection framework for CNC machine tools based on already-in-place controllers. The framework is based on statistical modelling of the behaviour of the machine tools, namely through gradient boosting regression and Gaussian mixture models, to identify the health state considering varying operations through time. The proposed solution is verified on sixteen multi-axis CNC machine tools in a large manufacturing company. The results show that the proposed solution can effectively support maintenance decisions by informing on the health states while discerning between varying operations and abnormal/faulty states of interest. This solution represents a brick in a cloud-edge-based industrial information system stack that can be further developed for shop floor-integrated decision-making.

The Role of Cloud Computing on Accounting Information System Quality:A Study in Hotel Industry

The hotel industry is a significant sector for Indonesian economic growth. Nowadays, cloud computing is bringing much potential for hotels to increase their competitive advantage, specifically in facilitating Information Systems (IS). However, we found still limited study that investigates cloud-based IS in accounting functions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze 1) the impact of the human aspect in determining cloud performance, 2) the impact of cloud performance on the relative advantage and compatibility of cloud-based Accounting Information Systems (AIS) in the hotel industry, and 3) the impact of its relative advantage and compatibility on cloud-based AIS quality. Using purposive sampling, the data was collected from accounting and/or information manager hotels in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed using variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). We found that human, cloud performance, and technology adaptability are the critical antecedents of cloud-based AIS quality in the hotel industry. Hotel leaders should consider user computer-self efficacy and cloud-AIS alignment design while developing and integrating cloud-based AIS into their general system.

CasaPuNet: Channel Affine Self-Attention- Based Progressively Updated Network for Real Image Denoising

Recently, the popularity of deep learning has brought broad applications of computer vision technology in industrial information systems. However, the process of image acquisition will inevitably introduce noise, which may heavily degrade image visual quality. Most of the proposed denoising methods are non-blind and they have limited performance in removing real noise with different noise levels. To overcome this problem, we propose a deep CNN-based blind model, <italic xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">i.e.</i> , channel affine self-attention based progressively updated network (CasaPuNet) for real image denoising. First, we introduce degradation mapping module (DMM) to extract degradation information, which makes the remaining subnetwork of CasaPuNet perform non-blind denoising. Then, CasaPuNet adopts a multi-stage architecture, which resolves the large gap between the noisy input and clean output into several small gaps and eliminates these small gaps step by step through progressive inference. Finally, a novel channel affine self-attention (CASA) is designed to adaptively fuse the features from multiple stages according to input statistics. Specifically, CASA extracts channel information from different features and converts them into channel weights through an affine structure for adaptive adjustment. CASA brings a significant performance gain with a small number of parameters. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CasaPuNet outperforms state-of-the-art denoising methods both quantitatively and visually. Uji Praktikalitas Perancangan Sistem Informasi Praktik Kerja Industri Berbasis Web di SMK Dhuafa Padang

This study aims to evaluate the practicality of designing information systems for web-based industrial work practices at SMK Dhuafa Padang using the waterfall research development method with 31 research subjects. The results of the research show that the developed system is very practical to use and has been tested for its feasibility and superiority through field trials. The development steps undertaken include analysis and definition of requirements, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, system integration and testing, as well as operation and maintenance. Practicality evaluation as a whole shows that the system has a very good level of practicality, which is equal to 87.96%. Based on the research results, there are four recommendations for further researchers. First, conducting further studies on the development of information systems for web-based industrial work practices at other SMKs that have the same needs. Second, extend existing features to improve system performance and user experience. Third, integrating this system with other existing information systems at SMK Dhuafa Padang. Fourth, conducting research on the effect of using a web-based industrial work practice information system on learning outcomes and student performance at SMK. It is hoped that the results of this study can become a reference or reference for further researchers in developing an information system for web-based industrial work practices at SMK.

Design of Asphalt Mixing Plant Industry Information System

Asphalt mixing plant is a production equipment that produces hot mix in the form of a mixture of asphalt with some aggregate materials used as road pavement materials. The asphalt mixing plant produces hot mix which must be at a certain temperature so that it does not harden and cannot be used for road pavement. The accuracy in the delivery time of the product to the location where it will be held determines the quality of the production after it is held on the road media. The existence of an information system is a tool for controlling production costs, in this case hotmix products produced from asphalt mixing plant machines are needed to monitor every production process from several departments that have been worked on so that data management can be done quickly and accurately. Seeing the existing problems, this research aims to design and build an industrial information system for the asphalt mixing plant at PT. Wasis by Nugraha. Tools used in making this system is Visual Basic. The application design method uses the ProtoTyping method. The results of this study are that with the design and construction of an industrial information system for the asphalt mixing plant at PT. Wasis Karya Nugraha received a very good category in the functional suitability aspect and a very appropriate predicate in the usability aspect in helping to overcome conventional system problems in the administration of raw material procurement to the production process, sending finished products to consumers and financial reporting which can be caused by human error.
