DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED NEW STUDENT ADMISSION INFORMATION SYSTEM

Admission of new students is a routine activity carried out by schools every new school year. This activity aims to advance the school so that in its implementation a selection is needed. This selection is carried out in order to achieve a target of achieving the quality of prospective students. In this new student admission, a committee is needed to facilitate the activity. Currently, not many schools in Indonesia have implemented an online admission system. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based new student admission information system "SIPSB" and facilitate the registration of prospective new students to be more efficient. In designing this new student admission information system, the Object Orientred Analysis and Design (OOAD) method and the waterfall model are used. The use of the waterfall model in this study makes it easier for researchers to design information systems because there are several stages in system development, namely requirements analysis, system design, implementation, system testing, and maintenance. The results of this study show that the new student admission information system "SIPSB" is able to manage the web-based new student admission process more efficiently.

Analysis and Design of Breeding Management Information System in Poultry Farms

Breeding management is indispensable in business development in the field of poultry farming where companies are required to keep up with the development of the digitalization era. Companies must be able to take advantage of opportunities in advances in information technology in obtaining accurate, fast and reliable information so that management can make decisions. PT. Peternakan Ayam Manggis has been using manual methods in recording the results of production or the process of breeding chicken farms. in making records using office software, namely excel, so that errors often occur and are often not realtime in making records. Records generated by poultry production include depletion, quarantine, culling, feed and egg production. in processing data generated manually can make it difficult for management to make decisions. The purpose of this research is to design an application that can be used by companies to obtain information during the breeding process.The research method in developing this application uses waterfall and design role analysis with data collection and using UML modeling. This information system application produces information about Breeding management including depletion, quarantine, feed, egg production, movement of chickens from one cage to another, culling. this information system application uses a database and application blackbox testing is carried out so that the application runs as needed.

Perancangan Sistem Informasi Peminjaman dan Pengembalian Berkas Rekam Medis Rawat Jalan dengan Metode Waterfall

Wiyung Sejahtera Hospital in recording the borrowing and returning of outpatient medical records still uses expedition books which are recorded manually. The research aims to design and develop an information system to facilitate the process of borrowing and returning outpatient medical record files using the Waterfall method approach. The Waterfall method was chosen because of its ability to divide system development into structured stages, starting from requirements analysis to maintenance. The needs analysis stage involves an in-depth study of existing processes and user needs. Next, system design is carried out by building a design plan that includes database structure, user interface design, and system workflow. System implementation is carried out by developing applications based on previous designs, while system testing is carried out thoroughly to ensure quality and performance before full implementation. The maintenance stage is carried out to ensure system operation and carry out continuous repairs and improvements. As a result, it is hoped that this system can improve the efficiency and quality of outpatient medical record file management and health services as a whole. The conclusion of this research is the successful design and development of a computer-based information system for borrowing and returning outpatient medical records at Wiyung Sejahtera Hospital using the waterfall method.

ASSESSMENT OF SOLAR PV OUTPUT PERFORMANCE WITH VARYING TILT ANGLES AND WEATHER DATA FROM ERA5: CASE OF MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES

Abstract. Solar photovoltaic (PV) technology has been gaining popularity in the Philippines as an alternative source of sustainable energy. In such technology, module tilt angle and weather conditions are among the system parameters that have substantial impacts on PV system performance. Previous studies have considered either tilt angles or weather conditions, but not the combined impact of these two parameters on solar PV power output. The objective of this study is to examine the effects of weather variables and tilt angle on the output of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Muntinlupa City, the Philippines. Three 120W monocrystalline solar PV panels were used and set up to three different tilt angles (i.e., 5°, 10°, and 15°). The fifth generation of the ECMWF's global climate and weather reanalysis (ERA5) dataset was used to gather hourly weather information such as surface solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, ambient temperature, and total precipitation. Three principal components (PC), which together account for 95% of the variability, were identified using principal components analysis (PCA), which was used to address multicollinearity among the weather parameters. To assess the effects of tilt angle, time, and PCs on solar PV production, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was carried out. Results show that all weather variables, except for wind speed and total precipitation, have a significant impact on solar PV production with configuration producing the best results. Moreover, a significant difference in mean solar PV production was observed among the three tilt angles. From 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, solar PV output gradually increases and declines thereafter. Outputs this study can help in optimizing the design and configuration of solar PV systems in the Philippines by considering weather variables and module tilt angle. Lastly, this study provides useful information for system designers, installers, and policymakers in improving energy generation and utilization, encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, and advancing sustainable energy objectives.

Understanding Farmers' Data Collection Practices on Small-to-Medium Farms for the Design of Future Farm Management Information Systems

Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS) integrate data from a variety of sources, including sensors, for the purpose of enabling farmers to interpret past activity and predict future performance. FMIS is traditionally designed for and used by large farms, given their capital and need for automation and scale-up. This paper examines the current data collection practices on small and medium farms so that FMIS systems can be better designed to their needs. Our empirical research comprises interviews conducted during 10 farm visits. Our semi-structured interviews incorporated questions about daily activities, points of decision-making, data sharing, and incentives for data collection. We analyzed the interviews by focusing on possible obstacles to adopting expanding digital data collection practices and how expanded data collection might help fulfill farmers' goals and motivations. We found that farmers use their own bespoke data collection techniques instead of or in parallel to more formalized methods and often hold key observations and hypotheses in their heads rather than committing them to any data collection system at all. Key barriers to FMIS adoption include technology skepticism, technical hurdles, lack of support, and self-doubt in technical skills. Based on this empirical work and analysis, we recommend that FMIS systems can best address the needs of small and medium farms by 1) accounting for the farmers' different approaches to memorizing vs. storing data, 2) integrating rather than trying to replace existing practices, and 3) considering the economic and political motivations driving farm decision-making and practices.

A Frame Work for Development of Hybrid-teaching Factory (H-TEFA) Model on Virtual Lab application

The core of Industry 4.0 is the extensive use of Information System in organizational business processes. The competency of System Analysis and Design is required by companies as an expert in Information System development. UNITAMA, a higher education institution, is developing a program of study in Information Systems that produces competent professionals with a discipline in Analysis and Information System Design. The university will strengthen student competencies through a collaborative approach between the learning process and IDUKA. The type of research is Research & Development (R&D) research so that the process of developing virtual learning media technology media for the Hybrid Teaching Factory (H-TEFA) model is directed and systematic, so in this research and development using the ADDIE development model which consists of five development stages (analysis, design, product manufacturing, implementation and evaluation). The Virtual Lab is a modern learning method based on the Learning Management System (LMS) that provides students with more dynamic and customized educational materials for practical learning. The Virtual Lab UNITAMA is the development of a practical learning method designed and adapted to the needs of the Analysis and Information System Design course based on the IDUKA Information System, utilizing web-based IT technology that allows learning to take place remotely, not limited to the classroom and specific hours. The model of collaboration between teachers, students, and IDUKA in the Analysis and Information System Design course is enabled by the rapid development of technology and information systems in the era of Industry 4.0, using e-learning/LMS systems that are integrated with Virtual Lab. The Link & Match policy between the education sector and IDUKA is expected to improve the competencies of graduates and align them with IDUKA's specific needs.

THE ROLE OF BIG DATA IN SYSTEMS ENGINEERING: A REVIEW

This research review explores the transformative intersection of Big Data and Systems Engineering (SE), a convergence that leverages the vast capabilities of Big Data analytics to enhance the design, analysis, and management of complex systems. As the digital era ushers in unprecedented volumes of data, traditional systems engineering approaches are challenged to adapt, necessitating a paradigm shift towards integrating Big Data technologies. This review draws on recent scholarly contributions to highlight the implications, challenges, and innovative solutions emerging at this intersection. The integration of Big Data into Systems Engineering introduces significant opportunities for innovation. By processing and analyzing vast datasets, systems engineers can uncover hidden patterns and insights, leading to more efficient, reliable, and adaptable systems. However, this integration is not without its challenges. Information security emerges as a paramount concern, with the risk of insider attacks necessitating the development of new architectural solutions. Furthermore, the benchmarking and evaluation of Big Data systems present unique challenges due to the diversity of data and workloads involved. To address these challenges, this review examines several key contributions to the field. It discusses a formal framework for designing information systems that handle heterogeneous data, emphasizing the role of ontological models in separating system architecture from its implementation. The review also highlights the importance of security in Big Data systems, proposing a novel architecture for detecting insider attacks through data replication. Additionally, it explores the development of BigDataBench, a benchmark suite that facilitates the comprehensive evaluation of Big Data systems and architectures. Moreover, the review delves into the design of Big Data analytics architectures, focusing on goal-oriented modeling and the resolution of obstacles to quality goal achievement. It also introduces datar, a unified framework for Big Data Management Systems, showcasing a solution that manages Big Data in a pluggable, automatic, and intelligent manner. In conclusion, the intersection of Big Data and Systems Engineering heralds a new era of system design and management. By addressing the inherent challenges and leveraging innovative solutions, this convergence holds the potential to significantly enhance the capabilities of Systems Engineering, driving forward the development of complex, data-driven systems.

Analysis and Design of Enterprise Architecture in Cooperatives Using TOGAF Adm Framework (Case Study: Cooperative Mandiri XYZ)

Cooperatives in Indonesia have an important role, one of which can be seen in everyday life, the existence of cooperatives that help build the community's economy. Current digital transformation, it will have an impact on the design of the company's organization, employee management, data collection patterns and transaction patterns. If this Digital transformation is not carried out, there will be a lameness in developing cooperatives. Many cooperatives still use the conventional system, using manual logbooks in depositing cow's milk products by each member of the cooperative and collecting data requirements using excel documents which require more time to process, thus slowing down the performance of the data exchange process in cooperatives. In Maximizing the utilization of the system itself, the Enterprise Architecture design of a cooperative management information system is carried out using the TOGAF ADM approach. Enterprise Architecture can help in aligning various business needs, data, applications and technology. Designing the Enterprise Architecture cooperative management information system at TOGAF ADM, it is carried out with the Preliminary Phase, architecture vision, Business Architecture, Information System Architecture, Technology Architecture, Opportunity and solution and migration planning stages. Final result of this study is in the form of a proposed architecture model for Cooperative XYZ, and blueprint.

The Design of Community Administration Information System: A Case Study of Bogor Reading Garden Community. The research aims to streamline the data management and reporting processes for improved accuracy and enhanced organization through a computerized system. The designed system is integrated into a database. The chosen research method is Research and Development, a deliberate, systematic approach aimed at discovering, formulating, improving, developing, generating, and testing the effectiveness of superior, novel, efficient, productive, and meaningful products, models, methods/strategies, services, and procedures. By crafting the 'Design of Book Donation Information System for the Bogor Reading Garden Community' using Java Netbeans, it is anticipated to assist the secretarial department in administration processes and facilitate the creation of reports.

Decision Support in Problems of Course Selection During Personalization of Learning Based on the Fuzzy Logic Method

The article is devoted to the actual problem of designing information systems for automated selection of courses using fuzzy logic, which take into account the personal characteristics of students. As part of the study, a decision-making system was implemented through the educational platform of personalized learning to determine the compliance of elective course packages. Elective courses developed as content for this platform are conditionally divided into 4 packages, reflecting certain personal characteristics of students. The system offers students the most suitable package of courses. Within the framework of the article, a model of fuzzy inference is described and a base of production rules is presented.

The methodology of using ontology when designing a system for evaluating the economic efficiency of geological exploration

The use of the ontological approach in the design of various information systems quite often aims at finding hidden dependencies that are not obvious at the stage of a system design. Another important aspect of the application of ontology is the need to take into account a large number of evaluation factors. Often there is a situation when the use of a standard binary architecture of connections between system elements, by analogy with databases, does not give the necessary result. This is usually due to the limitations of such relationships (one to one, one to many) when designing an information system. Accordingly, it is the ontological approach that allows us to resolve this contradiction and take into account those relationships and factors that could not be taken into account in the binary data structure. The purpose of this work is to form methodological recommendations on the use of ontology in the process of designing a system for evaluating the economic efficiency of geological exploration. As a result, we propose the structure of the ontological model, in relation to the block of parameters for assessing the economic efficiency of exploration, as well as a variant of applying this structure in practice. In the future, it is planned to develop an information system for evaluating the effectiveness of geological exploration based on the use of this ontological model.

Penerapan Model Public Service Integrated dalam Mal Pelayanan Publik Huma Betang Kota Palangka Raya

The Public Service Mall is the government's effort to improve the quality of the bureaucratic system, with the aim of providing satisfaction to the community through providing services in one location. This Public Service Mall aims to help the community and provide convenience in managing business administration. The aim of this research is to explain the implementation of the Palangkaraya City Public Service Mall, namely Huma Betang. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research show that the Huma Betang Public Service Mall, Palangka Raya City is included in the yellow zone category at 71.64%. The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia assessed a series of structured steps starting with the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement. Next there is the formation and design of service tenants, information systems, management and registration, monitoring and evaluation. In the context of managing complaints and input, as well as coordination and regular meetings between agencies or tenants, this mechanism becomes a solid foundation for the delivery of integrated services. The service mechanism process not only includes the operational stage but also includes information related to service costs. Internal aspects such as allocation of operational funds and management of human resources. External factors such as the construction of the MPP main building and collaboration with related agencies are expected to provide solutions to the problems faced.

Understanding information needs for seamless intermodal transportation: Evidence from Germany

Cities worldwide are seeking to enhance their sustainable mobility by reducing individual motorized transportation. While intermodal mobility – combining multiple transportation modes in one journey – is a key solution, individuals encounter challenges initiating intermodal journeys owing to the proliferation of mobility services. Providing accurate information at the right time is crucial amidst this complexity. While research has examined information needs for each mobility mode independently, the relationships between modes, phases, and information needs have barely been empirically investigated. Through a sequential mixed-method approach involving a literature review and a survey of >500 participants, this study identifies and validates the concept of phase- and mode chain-sensitive information needs. The findings provide initial insights, emphasizing phase relationships, mode chain relationships, and the interplays between phases and mode chains — a holistic understanding. This research can guide the design of more effective traveler information systems, aiding the shift toward sustainable urban mobility.

DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERNAL QUALITY AUDIT INFORMATION SYSTEM BASED PPEPP CYCLE

The Mataram University of Technology Quality Assurance Institute already has and has established national education standards plus the standards set by universities following Permendikbud number 3 of 2020. However, there are problems with the implementation of Internal Quality Audits, where the implementation of internal quality audits is very less effective and efficient, good in terms of time, cost, and energy. This is because the Mataram University of Technology Quality Assurance Institute only has 3 auditors to audit 12 study programs in one year and even spends two months in a row. This is an important concern for researchers to build and produce an internal quality audit information system application program that can help implement the internal quality audit process carried out by the Mataram University of Technology Quality Assurance Institute. The design of the internal quality audit information system was carried out using the prototyping method. The application of the prototyping method in system design will make information system builders better and more structured. The internal quality audit information system was built using the PHP programming language with the CodeIgniter framework and MySQL as the database and implementing Code-View-Controller (MVC). The main objective of this research is to produce an internal quality audit information system so that it can assist the Mataram University of Technology Quality Assurance Institute in documenting and optimizing higher education quality management in a planned and sustainable manner following the PPEPP cycle

Designing a Web-Based YMM FI Scholarship Recipient Decision Support Information System Using the SMART Method can help YMM FI in the decision-making process to determine the right scholarship recipient. YMM FI is a zakat fund management foundation which has several programs, one of which is still running, the Edu Care Program which focuses on funding education from the lower to upper levels. Design and Implementation of Management Information System for University Library

With the rapid development of the Internet, information processing work in universities has also increased, from libraries to electronic book management platforms, everything is available. Although the number of libraries we have is constantly increasing and people's attention to them is also increasing, their existence is often universal, non-existent, and sometimes incomplete, which brings great difficulties to our daily management. Analyzed the workflow and functional requirements of university libraries, and applied them in practice to achieve better results. On this basis, the paper provides a detailed analysis of the main functions and various forms of the enterprise financial management information system. SQL Server 2008 is a database based system with high confidentiality and large-scale storage capacity. Through this concept and approach, one can better grasp and grasp the business skills required in daily work and work, greatly improving work efficiency. A library MIS based on AIS/S model was constructed using an A/S model and a SQL Server database. This software is user centered and librarian centered. They proposed a system to the library that maximized its workflow and improved its service management and supply.

The design of the Inpatient Care Monitoring and Evaluation System for the Executive Report at X Hospital

Several field constraints that often occur and can impede patient services include: limited bed space, hindered coordination between units or rooms, sudden changes in bed space requirements, the lack of integration of information systems, incomplete and inaccurate documentation of patient mobilization, the length of the patient discharge process, unavailable facilities in rooms, and the existence of hospital service indicators that must be achieved. Based on the above, a real-time and integrated information system is required, starting from the registration of inpatients to their discharge, in order to improve the quality of service and patient satisfaction. The design of the Inpatient Monitoring and Evaluation System for the Executive Report is an enhancement of the hospital information system that integrates all inpatient patient service activities, including supporting facilities, to generate useful information for monitoring and developing inpatient care services. This information can be used as a basis for decision-making by the leaders. The design of the Inpatient Monitoring and Evaluation System for the Executive Report utilizes the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method in the form of a prototype, with the drafting phase starting from design to development. The final result of this information system design consists of comprehensive, integrated, and real-time information related to patient activities from admission to discharge, presented in a dashboard that is useful for monitoring and evaluating inpatient care services. Developing User-Friendly and Cost-Effective Sales Accounting Systems for the MSME Sector

This study aimed to develop and implement a user-friendly sales accounting information system for Manja Cheese Tea Macanan, a Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) specializing in contemporary milk-based beverages. Employing a development research methodology, data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to understand the existing sale process and information needs of Manja Cheese Tea Macanan. The sales accounting information system design process comprised constructing relational database tables, defining entity-relationship diagrams, creating data retrieval queries, and designing user-friendly forms, reports, and navigation menus (login, home, sales switchboard). The findings revealed that Manja Cheese Tea Macanan relied on a amnual sales system, highlighting the need for automation and improved data management. The designed sales accounting information system was tailored to the specific needs of Manja Cheese Tea Macanan and successfully implemented. The system demonstrated operational effectiveness in facilitating sales recording, data management, and information retrieval, addresing the identified limitations of the earlier manual system.

Key Indicators for Monitoring the Efficiency of Iranian Health System: A Synthesized Design Study

Background: A significant share of medical care, primary health care, and health-related education and research in Iran is provided by the Ministry of Health and its affiliated universities of medical sciences. We aimed to identify a set of key metrics for monitoring their efficiency in the four areas of medical care, primary health care, education and research.
 Methods: A combination of scoping review, expert panel and Delphi method was used. First, the relevant keywords were searched in the appropriate databases between 2000 and 2020. The final extracted indicators then reviewed, reduced and refined through the expert panel meetings. The last metrics were established following a three-stage Delphi study.
 Results: Out of 2327 studies, 155 were selected following the different screening stages of scoping review. After summarizing and refining the indicators via several expert panel meetings and the Delphi method, a total of 36 key indicators were considered appropriate for measuring efficiency of the health system, 23 of which were for the sub-systems of public health (4 indicators), medical services (10 indicators), education (4 indicators) and research (5 indicators) and 13 indicators for the whole system efficiency.
 Conclusion: The set of indicators presented representing both the technical and allocative efficiency, might be a reliable basis for designing information systems and management dashboards for periodic monitoring of health system efficiency at national, regional and local levels.

Examining information systems use to facilitate the workplace accommodation process.

The workplace accommodation process is often affected by ineffective and inefficient communications and information exchanges among disabled employees and other stakeholders. Information systems (IS) can play a key role in facilitating a more effective and efficient accommodation process since IS has been shown to facilitate business processes and effect positive organizational changes. Since there is little to no research that exists on IS use to facilitate the workplace accommodation process, this paper, as a critical first step, examines how IS have been used in the accommodation process. Thirty-six interviews were conducted with disabled employees from various organizations. Open, axial, and selective coding were part of the analysis. Fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis was used to identify different levels of IS use based on participants' descriptions. An IS used in the workplace accommodation process consists of electronic request form, accommodation checklist, special budget, specific role, ancillary service, formal policy and procedure. There are different levels of IS use in the current accommodation process. The high-level IS use often results in a better accommodation performance than the low-level IS use, including high efficiency, high effectiveness, and low emotional tolls. Nevertheless, the high-level IS use often uses a specific, inflexible template as well as disregards human elements in the accommodation process. This work provides implications that future IS design should raise awareness of disability and accommodation, account for individual differences, involve multiple stakeholder inputs, as well as address the fundamental social issues in the accommodation process.
