High Rates of Eye Surgery Cancellation in Veterans Related to Mental Health.

Approximately 9 million veterans receive health care at the Veterans Health Administration, many of whom have psychiatric illnesses. The military continues to have higher rates of psychiatric illness compared to the civilian population. Having a diagnosis such as posttraumatic stress disorder or depression may create challenges in using health care services, such as surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate eye surgery cancellation, risk factors for cancellation, and areas for intervention within the VA. This was a single-center retrospective cohort study. The Veteran Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture were queried to identify all surgical requests at the West Los Angeles VA in 2019. Data collection included sociodemographic information and comorbid medical conditions, including psychiatric illness. Exploratory analyses using univariate logistic regression were used to evaluate factors associated with surgery cancellation. A total of 1,115 surgical requests were identified with a cancellation rate of 23.7% (n = 270). Sociodemographic factors were similar between those with completed and cancelled surgery. However, having a psychiatric diagnosis correlated with surgery cancellation. For all subspecialties, patients with schizophrenia were more likely to have cancellation (odds ratio [OR], 2.53, P = .04). For retina surgery, patients with posttraumatic stress disorder were more likely to have cancellation (OR, 4.23, P = .01). Glaucoma patients with anxiety (OR, 5.78, P = .05) and depression (OR, 4.05, P = .04) were more likely to have cancellation. There was a significant amount of eye surgery cancellations in veterans with variation by subspecialty and comorbid conditions. Having a psychiatric illness was correlated with increased rates of surgery cancellation amongst veterans. Areas to improve surgical utilization include risk stratification and increased support of vulnerable patients before surgery.

Modeling Architecture with the TOGAF Framework to Support the Smart Village in Indonesia

In an agricultural nation like Indonesia, where villages are one of the key regions for economic growth, Jatisura Village in the Cikedung district of Indramayu has the potential to grow into a smart village. This is because Rosalia Food MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) that have sold their products to the Asian level and reputable communities like Situ Bolang as a tourist attraction both have potential in Jatisura village. Realizing smart village development is a program that requires cooperation from all parties since it is in line with the government's priority program, which is to construct Indonesia from the periphery to minimize the inequity between cities and rural areas. Therefore, a model of architecture that aligns with information technology architecture is required to implement the construction of smart villages. This study intended to build an architecture that aligns with information technology to facilitate the implementation of smart villages based on information and communication technology in Jatisura village, Indonesia's Indramayu regency. To promote digital inclusion and more excellent employment prospects, this study focuses on smart village architecture and methods leveraging ICT initiatives. The TOGAF framework was the foundation architectural concept used. The framework generated business and organizational architecture models, information system and technological architectures, and migration, implementation, and change management architectures. All these architectural models help carry out the process of constructing a smart village, enabling it to do so in a way that effectively carries out the vision and mission of the regency.

Analysis and Design of Enterprise Architecture in Cooperatives Using TOGAF Adm Framework (Case Study: Cooperative Mandiri XYZ)

Cooperatives in Indonesia have an important role, one of which can be seen in everyday life, the existence of cooperatives that help build the community's economy. Current digital transformation, it will have an impact on the design of the company's organization, employee management, data collection patterns and transaction patterns. If this Digital transformation is not carried out, there will be a lameness in developing cooperatives. Many cooperatives still use the conventional system, using manual logbooks in depositing cow's milk products by each member of the cooperative and collecting data requirements using excel documents which require more time to process, thus slowing down the performance of the data exchange process in cooperatives. In Maximizing the utilization of the system itself, the Enterprise Architecture design of a cooperative management information system is carried out using the TOGAF ADM approach. Enterprise Architecture can help in aligning various business needs, data, applications and technology. Designing the Enterprise Architecture cooperative management information system at TOGAF ADM, it is carried out with the Preliminary Phase, architecture vision, Business Architecture, Information System Architecture, Technology Architecture, Opportunity and solution and migration planning stages. Final result of this study is in the form of a proposed architecture model for Cooperative XYZ, and blueprint.

The software architecture of the automated system for the exchange of documentary information proposed in the article and the associated of the automated system for the exchange of documentary information system architecture will provide the technical possibility of «conflict-free» functioning of communication nodes of control points of the system, combining management bodies, forces and means of federal executive authorities, executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, local governments and organizations whose powers It includes solving issues related to the protection of the population and territories (water areas) from emergency situations.
 The software complexes being formed and the proposed standard architectural solution will provide the opportunity to build an of the automated system for the exchange of documentary information and the formation of an information and address space based on it on the existing technical means of the operated systems and complexes of documentary communication of communication nodes, using automated workplaces of officials automated control systems, control points of the studied unified state system for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.

An Enterprise Architecture Planning for Tour and Travel Company Using TOGAF ADM

Purpose: This study aims to address inefficiencies in service delivery processes within PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel, particularly concerning manual operations and administrative document management. By utilizing the TOGAF ADM (The Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method) methodology, the research seeks to develop a strategic plan for information systems that enhances service efficiency and streamlines operations. Methods: The research employs the TOGAF ADM methodology to guide the strategic planning process for information systems improvement. Four key aspects are considered: vision architecture, business architecture, information system architecture, and technology architecture. Through a systematic approach, the study identifies areas for improvement and proposes strategic initiatives to optimize the utilization of information systems and technology. Results and Discussion: Analysis of the current operational processes within PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel reveals inefficiencies in manual operations and document management, leading to delays and increased resource consumption. The application of TOGAF ADM methodology facilitates the development of strategic plans across various architectural domains. The proposed initiatives include enhancements in vision architecture, business processes, information system integration, and technological infrastructure to optimize information system utilization and improve service delivery efficiency. Implications of the Research: The findings have significant implications for PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel, providing actionable insights for enhancing service efficiency and operational effectiveness through strategic information systems planning. By aligning business objectives with technology capabilities, the proposed initiatives aim to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the existing literature by applying the TOGAF ADM methodology to address operational challenges within the tour and travel industry. By integrating strategic planning principles with architectural frameworks, the research offers a structured approach to information systems development and optimization. The proposed strategic plan provides a roadmap for PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel to leverage information systems effectively, thereby enhancing its competitive position and service delivery capabilities in the market.

An Integrated IoT Sensor-Camera System toward Leveraging Edge Computing for Smart Greenhouse Mushroom Cultivation

Industrial greenhouse mushroom cultivation is currently promising, due to the nutritious and commercial mushroom benefits and its convenience in adapting smart agriculture technologies. Traditional Device-Cloud protocol in smart agriculture wastes network resources when big data from Internet of Things (IoT) devices are directly transmitted to the cloud server without processing, delaying network connection and increasing costs. Edge computing has emerged to bridge these gaps by shifting partial data storage and computation capability from the cloud server to edge devices. However, selecting which tasks can be applied in edge computing depends on user-specific demands, suggesting the necessity to design a suitable Smart Agriculture Information System (SAIS) architecture for single-crop requirements. This study aims to design and implement a cost-saving multilayered SAIS architecture customized for smart greenhouse mushroom cultivation toward leveraging edge computing. A three-layer SAIS adopting the Device-Edge-Cloud protocol, which enables the integration of key environmental parameter data collected from the IoT sensor and RGB images collected from the camera, was tested in this research. Implementation of this designed SAIS architecture with typical examples of mushroom cultivation indicated that low-cost data pre-processing procedures including small-data storage, temporal resampling-based data reduction, and lightweight artificial intelligence (AI)-based data quality control (for anomalous environmental conditions detection) together with real-time AI model deployment (for mushroom detection) are compatible with edge computing. Integrating the Edge Layer as the center of the traditional protocol can significantly save network resources and operational costs by reducing unnecessary data sent from the device to the cloud, while keeping sufficient information.

ALGORITHM FOR DETECTION OF ABUSIVE CONTENT IN AUDIO CONTENT FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN OBJECT-ORIENTED INFORMATION SYSTEM

The paper proposes the basic principles of developing an object-oriented information system for detecting abusive content in Ukrainian-language audio content based on a new algorithm that uses statistical and neural network approaches to detect abusive content. Detecting offensive content in text and audio content is an urgent task, as it helps to create a safe and healthy environment for communication, especially in online platforms. Offensive content can harm the people who hear or read it and violate their rights. It can also have a negative impact on society, contributing to the spread of hatred and violence. To detect abusive speech in audio content, the proposed approach uses two key components: the use of dictionary methods and the analysis of the emotional tonality of utterances. A set of reviews was used as a dataset to determine the abusive component of the content, which was expanded by the authors by adding words of abuse. An object-oriented information system architecture written in the Python programming language in the PyCharm programming environment is proposed. The information system consists of a software module for training recurrent neural network models and further saving trained instances, and a software module for detecting abusive content in Ukrainian-language audio content using trained RNN models. Since the recurrent neural network is trained on a short text data set, the system is less efficient at identifying texts that have a larger number of words. In the example of the proposed approach, the accuracy of detecting offensive content is more than 90%. This means that the algorithm works correctly in the absence of offending highlights in the test data set. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the proposed approach show that in the vast majority of cases the conclusions regarding the acceptability of audio content based on the level of abuse are correct.

Are the Noah and Noah-MP land surface models accurate for frozen soil conditions?

The accurate prediction of frozen soil conditions is a critical component of dynamic terrain characterization for engineering operations in cold regions. Currently the trusted resource for dynamic terrain within the US military uses gridded global soil conditions (i.e., temperature and moisture) generated by the Land Information System (LIS) architecture. LIS combines static terrain data with trusted surface weather information into the Noah land surface model to generate a continuous representation of the global surface conditions. Both the input weather data and the model output land surface state are adjusted to match the observed state using an advanced ensemble Kalman filter data assimilation technique to incorporate in situ and remote sensing observations. While this product has been robustly evaluated under unfrozen conditions only sporadic studies have investigated its ability to accurately simulate freeze/thaw cycles, and soil temperature and moisture under frozen conditions. Here, we present a broad comparison and evaluation of the simulated soil state against an in situ network of soil temperature and moisture distributed across the Continental United States that focuses on the winter season. This comparison includes both the Noah and the newer Noah with multi-parameterization (Noah-MP) land surface models. A comparison of the two models reveals substantial differences in simulated soil moisture, frozen content, and frozen soil strength. In general, Noah predicts colder soils with deeper frost depths, and frozen soils that are slightly stronger than Noah-MP. Initial results evaluating Noah and Noah-MP against in situ observations show that both models have significantly degraded model performance for frozen soil conditions compared to their performance for unfrozen soil. In particular, Noah has a significant and persistent cold bias of approximately −3 K when the soil temperature is below freezing. This cold bias is not present in Noah-MP and further analysis shows that this improvement was almost entirely caused by a better representation of thermal conduction through snow in Noah-MP. Specifically, we find that the bulk effective thermal conductivity of a snowpack is 2× greater in Noah, which allows for greater surface heat loss during the winter and, consequently, lower soil temperatures. This analysis reveals that the more advanced multi-layer snow model in Noah-MP substantially improves the representation of soil temperature during the cold season.

The methodology for adaptive modeling and forecasting nonlinear and nonstationary processes

The study is directed towards development of systemic methodology for modeling and forecasting nonlinear and nonstationary processes in economy, finances and other areas of human activities. There exist multiple problems that are to be solved with the data of such type practically in all areas of human activities: such as constructing adequate models including estimation and forecasting state of a system under investigation; technical, economic and medical diagnostics; automatic control in technologies; moving objects control; financial and other risk estimation and management; risk factor interaction; control and monitoring of microclimate in greenhouses and industrial enterprises; decision making support in business; dynamic strategic planning in production; providing stability for critical economic infrastructure etc. The structure and parameter adaptation procedures for the regression and probabilistic models are proposed as well as respective information system architecture and functional layout are developed. The system development is based on the system analysis principles such as hie­rarchical architecture of the system, adaptive approach to model structure estimation, optimization of model parameter estimation procedures, functional completeness of the system providing for autonomous operation of the system, identification and taking into consideration of possible uncertainties available in the process of data processing and mathematical model development, application of appropriate sets of quality criteria that are guarantying high quality of intermediate and final results of data analysis. The possible uncertainties are inherent to data collecting, model constructing and forecasting procedures, and play the role of negative influence factors to the computational procedures of proposed information system. Reduction of their influence is favorable for enhancing the quality of intermediate and final results of computations. The illustrative examples of practical application of the methodology developed proving the system functionality are provided.

Perencanaan Arsitektur Sistem Informasi Sekolah dengan Pendekatan Togaf-Adm dalam Penerapan Standar Nasional Pendidikan

To help the School achieve SNP, enterprise architecture modeling brings its business strategy and technology together. The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) can be used as the framework to organize the structures and objects related to the organization in architectural modeling. A method, such as the Architecture Development Method (ADM), is also used to determine the Enterprise Architecture in detail.The goal of information system architectural design analysis is to get a clear image of the information system and better communicate to users how it will operate. In this study, a generic architectural model design connected to the organization's vision and goal was generated using the TOGAF technique as a tool for building and designing enterprise architecture. The study's findings point to a connection between various types of architecture, starting with business architecture, application architecture, and information system architecture, which can create a framework for constructing and developing integrated information systems in schools that can be used as a guide by all organizational units. The outcomes of combining the three primary activities' information system planning and application efforts will be used as tools to support the school's vision, purpose, and goals.

Integrated Operational System Enterprise Architec-ture Designing Using TOGAF-ADM Method Case Study at PT. XYZ (Construction Company)

XYZ is a construction company that belongs to the civil sector of construction, especially in the field of water management and waterwaste management in private and public projects. In its journey, PT XYZ continues to grow following the development of existing technology. However, in its development in the implementation of information systems, it turns out that some of the main processes at PT XYZ are still carried out manually. So that problems arise and disrupt the business processes of PT. XYZ. These problems include problems with data integration, communication and loss of information due to certain things. Especially in processes that are still done manually such as warehouse and project management. From this problem, an analysis will be made that will identify the problem in detail with company XYZ. So the idea of developing an integrated operational system emerged that would be built according to the Enterprise Architecture (EA) method. EA can be analogous to when building a building, a model, design and design of the building is needed. These things are needed as models and foundations for the design. Similar to the implementation of information systems, before its development, the basis and foundation of the design are needed in the form of information system models or architectures. In this research, the EA method that will be used is TOGAF-ADM. This method was chosen because TOGAF ADM is a complex method that can meet all EA development needs, so it is used based on organizational needs.

Blockchain-Enabled Construction and Demolition Waste Management: Advancing Information Management for Enhanced Sustainability and Efficiency

The construction industry is a significant contributor to global carbon emissions, primarily due to the generation of substantial construction and demolition waste. However, the current practices in construction and demolition waste management (CDWM) face various information management challenges that undermine their overall effectiveness. Correspondingly, this research proposes the integration of blockchain technology as a strategic solution to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CDWM. Despite the potential of blockchain in revolutionizing CDWM, research in this area remains limited. To address such a gap, this study adopts a design science action research methodology to integrate the use of blockchain technology into CDWM. Specifically, this study has creatively introduced the blockchain-based data supply chain to address the principal–agent problem in CDWM and develop a novel blockchain-enabled framework for CDWM. Additionally, a six-layer system architecture for the blockchain-based CDWM information system has been developed. This integration holds the promise of streamlining and empowering CDWM processes and thereby improving the administration and regulation of CDWM. Notably, the utilization of blockchain technology also presents an innovative opportunity for carbon reduction and offsetting within the construction industry. This research makes a substantial contribution to the field by introducing a novel approach to address information management challenges in CDWM, thereby promoting sustainable practices in the construction industry.

Towards a service-oriented architecture for information systems in the circular economy

Information gaps are one of the significant barriers to a flourishing circular economy (CE). Information systems (IS) are implemented to overcome these gaps as part of digitalization efforts. In the CE context, IS can provide insights into the sustainability and circularity of a product and its value chain. In fact, many products come into existence through supply chains encompassing plentiful suppliers and complex in-use and after-use streams. Implementing CE IS, like obligatory product passports, will significantly scale up information technologies (IT) use. Environmental impacts through IT use, and diverse product lifecycles call for an architecture that allows such a degree of complexity while minimizing burdens. This conference paper summarizes our preliminary results on designing an architecture for CE IS. First, we reviewed the literature on product passports. We created an architecture based on the design science methodology, including a meta-model providing an overview of all concepts. We also show how the architecture can facilitate the CE IS implementation by an example case of remanufacturing. Our results advocate rethinking the concept of product-centered systems towards IS that are more based on CE and digital services.

Leveraging digital solutions for enhanced sustainability management in production systems: a case study in Baden-Württemberg

The industrial transition towards sustainable production systems is a fundamental step for companies to achieve environmental, social and economic goals. This transition includes implementing sustainable practices across the entire value chain, by which sustainability management can quickly become data intensive and increasingly complex. The integration of digital solutions into sustainability management can massively increase the efficiency of data collection and aggregation, prevent errors and data inconsistencies, besides further supporting industrial decision-making based on sustainability data evaluation. This paper presents a case study with a manufacturing company in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, in which its sustainability management system is evaluated and screened for digital optimization opportunities. The development and creation of a digital solution concept is comprised of the initial assessment through a detailed requirement analysis, then a systematically determination of an information system architecture that fulfills all requirements and can be implemented to improve the sustainability performance of the company. This developed approach assists the company to reach environmental reporting obligations through the continuous evaluation of internal sustainability KPIs. The insights gained and the developed concept can further support other companies in making their sustainability management more efficient and transparent through digitalization.

Digital Tools for Accounting and Analytical Support of Enterprises: Innovation and Management Aspect

Introduction. The modern global economy requires the digitalization of all spheres of enterprise activity, including accounting and analytical processes. This creates new synergistic effects on all related production, management, and business processes and new opportunities and business directions. The analytical process begins to include new information resources, which gives an impetus to the systematic development of support for decision-making by the management of enterprises, increasing the level of relevance of management decisions, and providing opportunities for operational restructuring of market tactics and strategies.
 Aim and tasks. The study aims to introduce digital tools for analytical accounting support for Ukrainian enterprises based on innovative management aspects and develop a mathematical model for using digital resources to optimize the architecture of enterprise information systems.
 Results. A mathematical model of the use of digital resources was developed to optimize the architecture of the company's information systems. The process of introducing digital tools for accounting and analytical support of enterprises in Ukraine was also studied and compared with the practice of their implementation under the conditions of “Economy 4.0” in developed countries. The advantages of introducing digital tools for accounting and analytical support were determined and obstacles to this process are named. It is indicated that the main guarantee of the effectiveness of the use of digital tools in view of the innovation-management aspect of their implementation is adaptability to internal and external influences, technological innovations, changes in tasks, goals, and even the sphere of economic activity of the enterprise. It is noted that this largely depends on the architecture of the information systems. According to estimates, the annual “cumulative effect” growth rate from introducing IT technologies in accounting and analytical processes may exceed 19%.
 Conclusions. The developed mathematical model makes it possible to propose a new approach to the transformation of the system of digital accounting tools and analytical support instead of the traditional eclectic approach, which ensures effective auxiliary functionality or implements new functionality of the entire information management system, the elements of which are digital accounting tools. Factors that prevent the implementation of digital tools, which will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises, are indicated.

Information systems help all processes in an organization or school become easier and more efficient. However, implementing an academic information system in schools is not something that is easy to implement. Implementing information systems in schools requires careful and structured planning to produce a design that suits the needs, goals and objectives of the school. PlanningEnterprise Architecture can be done by using a framework to facilitate planning. TOGAF used to make plansEnterprise Architecture academic information system which includes business processes and academic activities at school. The design includes the TOGAF ADM phases with the stages of literature review, data collection,premilinary, architecture vision, business architecture, information system architecture, technology architecture, opportunities and solutions, and migration planning. The results of the design will obtain an information system that can connect several existing business processes at XYZ school. Methodology of creation and development of information systems for technological safety of mining facilities

Purpose. To develop methodological approaches to the process of informatization of technological security (TS) and to propose a project of step-by-step development of the architecture of information system (IS) of TS, which will contribute to effective integration of digital and mining technologies. To develop a mathematical model for finding the number of sensors required for probabilistic assessment of the concentration gradients of hazardous gases. Methodology. General and special methods of knowledge are used: structural analysis – to establish the structure and tasks of IS of TS; logical generalization – for formation of methodological system of directions of TS information measures; system analysis – to establish synergistic effect of complex implementation of the indicated directions; scientific abstraction – for development of a project for IS architecture derivation; mathematical formalization – for development of mathematical model for estimating gradients of concentration gases and the number of sensors. Findings. A project for the phased development of IS architecture of mining facilities based on the implementation of diffusion principle is developed, which will allow solving a complex of issues: integrated monitoring of danger of gas environment of underground structure for detection of gas traps and permanent determination of concentration gradients of hazardous gases, implementation of intelligent safety loops using analytical resources of technological mining process. A methodological system of directions for diffusion implementation of TS information measures is formed. The use of the method of system analysis made it possible to point out the synergistic effect of the complex implementation of the directions of implementation of TS information measures. Originality. A project for the phased development of the information system architecture of the technological safety of mining enterprises has been developed. A mathematical model has been developed to estimate the concentration gradients of hazardous gases and the number of sensors to ensure the appropriate level of probability of finding a sensor in each cell of the underground mine. Practical value. The methodological approach makes it possible to form an IS that implements a comprehensive approach to ensuring the appropriate level of technological safety of mining facilities.
