Integrated Colorectal Cancer Screening Based on Decision Support Information System

Background: Decision making modalities for cancer screening for many conditions and different stages have become increasingly complex. Reengineering of traditional and paper-based decision support information system as an innovation strategy facilitates scheduling and decision making and support the delivery of cancer screening services. Objectives: The aim of study is to business process reengineering based on decision support information system in order to integration of colorectal cancer screening plan in Iranian population. Methods: The research method used in this study is mix method research (MMR) which combines quantitative methods and qualitative methods. Data collection techniques and tools in this study are: (1) Situational analysis method by checklist. The status of the current information system was evaluated with a checklist and (2) interview and focus group discussion; it is based on the 37 views of experts. Results: In this study, present screening information system was surveyed of six dimensions. These dimensions were general specification, functions, technologies, data resources, users, manual and standards of screening information system. The present information system performed only 25.1% of the expected information system tasks. The next step, conceptual models of integrated CRC screening information system are developed and approved by experts. Conclusions: Reengineering is a powerful and significant change strategy that can bring quality improvements in decision making processes of colorectal cancer screening plan. Therefore, to support the successful reengineering of decision support information system, comprehensive survey of infrastructures is needed in order to improve the quality of colorectal cancer screening plan.

Research of the optimization problem of structure hierarchical communication network with changing its parameters

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of optimizing the hierarchical structure of a multicommodity communication network with discrete flows when changing its important parameters, such as the capacity of network arcs in transport blocks and the size of the transport block for transportation of the discrete small-lot cargo or of the data transmission in a digital communication network. The network has three levels of hierarchy – a backbone, a zonal and an internal and four types of nodes - backbone nodes of the first, second and third types, forming the backbone and zonal levels of the network, and nodes of the fourth type, which subordinate to each backbone node and forming the internal levels of the network. Types of nodes differ from each other in terms of functionality. The main task of the study is to establish how the structure of the backbone network changes (the number and location of backbone nodes of the first, second, and third types), the flow processing and distribution scheme, and the technical and economic indicators of the network's functioning for different values of its parameters. The principles of organization of sorting and distribution of flows in a three-level network and its mathematical model are given. A mathematical model of the optimization problem of the backbone network structure and flow sorting and distribution scheme is formulated. Algorithms for solving the problem are based on the discrete analogue of the local descent method proposed by the authors earlier, when the neighborhoods of the metric space of possible solutions are chosen based on heuristic considerations, taking into account the specifics of the problem being solved. Computer modeling of the problem on a network containing 10 nodes at the specified change in the both parameters is carried out. The modeling was carried out on the example of the transport network of cargo transportation using a computer program that is part of the instrumental software of the Information and Analytical Decision Support System (IA DSS), which is being developed at the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. An experimental study of solution the problem showed that the structure of the network is weakly dependent on the change in the carrying capacity of the arcs and the size of the transport block. The proposed computer technology for solving problem when the network parameters are changed allows you to interactively modeling various options of a network, changing the topology, hierarchical structure, flows, parameters and constraints of the model and from the set of the obtained solutions to choose a best option, taking into account the selected a goal function and the accepted constraints; calculate preliminary technical and economic indicators of the network's functioning, estimate the cost of additional resources and plan the amount of investment required for the modernization and construction of its structural elements, which ultimately makes it possible to increase the efficiency functioning of the network by optimizing use of its resources and reducing the operating costs for the processing and transportation of flows.

Scientific and technological progress leads to a continuous increase in the number and complexity of designed systems, as a result of which there is a need to create modern information and intelligent decision support systems. Such systems will make it possible to predict various scenarios of management decisions, which in turn helps to increase the efficiency and quality of the project. Effective use of automation in the search for management decisions can reduce the time spent on analysis, improve the quality of decisions made and increase the overall productivity and competitiveness of the organization. The purpose of this work is to substantiate the scientific approach to the issue of automated search for acceptable management solutions in technical systems. To describe management decisions, a concept is proposed that allows one to compactly depict the structure of complex hierarchical systems. Many solutions are described, and the problem of finding acceptable management solutions is formulated. A system for automated search for management decisions is described. An algorithm is presented for searching solutions that are feasible with respect to a certain condition from a set of possible ones, based on removing the vertices of the search tree that are invalid according to the specification. A description of the automation of building a model of many technical solutions is presented. Using a model to search for a set of acceptable management decisions allows you to more accurately predict various scenarios for the management decision made and helps to increase the efficiency and improve the quality of the project.

Methodologies and Handling Techniques of Large-Scale Information in Decision Support Systems for Complex Missions

Designing integrating systems for support, real-time monitoring, and executing of complex missions is challenging, since they often fail due to high levels of complexity and overwhelming volume of input data. Past attempts have resorted to “ad hoc” solutions, which face issues of being non-updatable, non-upgradable, and not applicable to similar missions, necessitating a complete redesign and reconstruction of the system. In the national defense and security sector, the impact of this reconstruction requirement leads to significant costs and delays. This study presents advanced methodologies for organizing large-scale datasets and handling complex operational procedures systematically, enhancing the capabilities of Decision Support Systems (DSSs). By introducing Complex Mission Support Systems (CMSSs), a novel SS sub-component, improved accuracy and effectiveness are achieved. The CMSS includes mission conceptualization, analysis, real-time monitoring, control dynamics, execution strategies, and simulations. These methods significantly aid engineers in developing DSSs that are highly user-friendly and operational, thanks to human-reasoning-centered design, increasing performance and efficiency. In summary, the systematic development of data cores that support complex processes creates an adaptable and adjustable framework in a wide range of diverse missions. This approach significantly enhances the overall sustainability and robustness of an integrated system.

State of the Art on the Contributions and Use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Epidemiology in Morocco

Background The Geographic Information System (GIS) plays a significant role in the healthcare information system. The use of GIS as an epidemiological research tool is very little known in Morocco. According to the Moroccan Ministry of Health's Health Plan for 2025, axis 23 aims to complete the deployment of the decision support information system through the implementation of the geographic information system with the goal of improving governance and optimizing resource allocation. This creates constraints in achieving the design of an appropriate GIS for modeling pathologies using remote sensing and spatial statistical methods. The current work aims to understand GIS and its applications in epidemiology, with a focus on the state of scientific knowledge related to GIS in epidemiological research. Methods A state-of-the-art review of the various uses of GIS in epidemiological research was conducted using several university databases, such as PubMed and Scopus, recent articles, and certain reference books, focusing on the following keywords: “utilization,” “GIS,” and “epidemiology,” as well as their synonyms identified by MeSH. Results The majority of GIS research applied to epidemiology primarily involves making observations using GIS, which are then incorporated into action plans to promote population health. Therefore, it is important to break down the aspects of GIS (Geographic Information System) usage in epidemiology into four components. These include epidemiological surveillance, determining primary healthcare needs, healthcare planning, and healthcare quality. Conclusion These results clearly demonstrate the significant contribution of GIS to the improvement of public health. However, there is a need for positive action regarding the integration of this system, especially in developing countries.

Systematic approach to providing intelligent decision support whilst digital transformation of management processes in agro-industrial complex

Modern economic conditions, characterized by digitalization processes and the influence of geopolitical factors contributing to the development of domestic information technologies have made the issue of providing support for management decision-making by specialized systems important. In this regard, the purpose of the study is to analyze the logistics of information flows and identify problems associated with the digital transformation of management processes in the agro-industrial complex (AIC). A systematic approach was chosen as the main method. The logical analysis and synthesis were used as well. Based on the identified movements and interrelations of information flows, and limiting factors for its effective use, an automated information and analytical decision support system (AIASDSS) is proposed in the context of a unified digital platform. Its components are described and principles of operation are formulated. In the focus is the creation of an information platform module oriented mainly on agricultural producers who occupy a central place in the agro-industrial complex. It is noted that work is underway to ensure the intellectualization of decision-making processes in agricultural organizations through the use of mathematical, statistical and information tools. Particular solutions are given. The research materials are addressed to authorities and can be used in managing agricultural production.

Land-Use Land-Cover Change Detection Using Geospatial Techniques in Zalingei, Central Darfur, Sudan

Using remote sensing for land use and land cover (LULC) is essential for systems that help people make decisions because it gives valuable information about space and time. A study was conducted in Zalingei, Sudan, to analyze the changes in LULC over 30 years from 1991 to 2021 using multi-temporal Landsat images. Thematic Mapper (TM) and Operational Land Imager (OLI) were classified using the supervised classification method. The pictures were divided into four groups based on how the land was used: residential areas, bodies of water, vegetation cover, and bare land. Results showed that the residential area increased by 20.74% while the water body increased by 2.32%. However, the vegetation cover decreased by 0.7%, and bare land decreased by 22.37%. The changes were caused by people, which shows how vital good land management practices and involvement from the local community are for reducing LULC change. So, to reduce LULC change in the study area, proper land management practices and active participation from the local community are needed. The study concluded that remote sensing technology is an effective tool for assessing and mapping land use and land cover changes and providing valuable information for decision support systems.

Introduction. For the management of complex urban planning systems, the problems of choosing alternatives and finding effective solutions under conditions of risk and uncertainty in the interaction of many exogenous and endogenous factors are of great theoretical and practical importance. A special place in decision-making is occupied by an integrated approach that allows, based on artificial intelligence models, expert assessment, analytical and computational models, modeling methods and a number of other models and methods, to successfully apply various approaches to decision support, to provide a deeper and more comprehensive account of various factors. , their relationship, act in conditions of semistructured or unstructured information about the control object. In this regard, the problem of creating integrated intelligent decision support systems based on the theory and principles of hybrid artificial intelligence systems, mathematical modeling methods, system analysis, synthesis of control actions, etc. is relevant.The purpose of this article is to clarify the conceptual foundations of information modeling technology in urban planning.Materials and methods. To achieve this goal, the article used methods of problem analysis, synthsis, scientific approaches to solving the stated problem, classification of hybrid models used in information modeling in urban planning. The materials of the article are the works of scientists on the stated issues.Research results. The article points out that the possibilities of modeling in urban planning are associated with the development of hybrid models, which are models that are built using various methods. The author determined that a hybrid intelligent system is a combination of: analytical models, expert systems, artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, genetic algorithms, simulation statistical models. The main task in the development of hybrid systems is to best combine different forms of representation and methods of knowledge processing in the decision-making process in the field of urban planning.Discussion and conclusion. The article substantiates the importance of introducing hybrid models for studying the functioning and forecasting the development of urban infrastructure. Approaches to the creation of intelligent information systems for decision support in urban planning based on a combination of analytical methods and models, such as simulation modeling, computational calculations, optimization calculations with soft computing models, such as fuzzy systems, neural networks, genetic solutions of complex weakly structured or unstructured tasks. The creation of such systems will increase the level of managerial decision-making in urban planning, better assess the quality of the housing policy being pursued.

To build a business architecture, special business modeling systems are used, one of which is the Fox Manager BPA program. In order to solve problems systematically, rather than intuitively, it is necessary to design the architecture of the business, prescribe rules and standards of work, distribute responsibility for functions among the staff and monitor their implementation. An information system for decision support using heterogeneous spatial data to optimize the company's management process is presented. The methodology proposed for the verification of IP is used for the first time in the systems under study. The article also presents studies of topical issues in the field of information technology in the field of telecommunications. In modern conditions, information technology (IT) in companies is present as a necessary attribute of technology for managing the process of production of goods and services, economic analysis and management decision-making. Currently, IT is used in many areas of management activity, and is increasingly becoming an important factor and means of solving numerous management tasks. Special tools are used to design any technologically complex system.

Abstract
 PT Clipan Finance Indonesia is a car loan financing leasing company. This company has a standard in determining whether or not a customer is eligible for car loan financing. In choosing clients who deserve for car loan financing, it must be done properly to avoid client credit congestion, so it is necessary to select client data analysis. In selecting this client data, a decision support system information was designed that can help determine the priority of clients who are eligible for car loan financing, by using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method as a method of supporting decision making. The SAW method is used to support decision making to evaluate the feasibility value of clients in selecting data for clients who apply for car loans based on the criteria and weight of decision making. Through this system, it is hoped that it can help determine the feasibility of applying for a client's car loan more effectively and efficiently by making the ranking value obtained as a reference for determining client creditworthiness approval.

Examining nursing processes in primary care settings using the Chronic Care Model: an umbrella review

BackgroundWhile there is clear evidence that nurses can play a significant role in responding to the needs of populations with chronic conditions, there is a lack of consistency between and within primary care settings in the implementation of nursing processes for chronic disease management. Previous reviews have focused either on a specific model of care, populations with a single health condition, or a specific type of nurses. Since primary care nurses are involved in a wide range of services, a comprehensive perspective of effective nursing processes across primary care settings and chronic health conditions could allow for a better understanding of how to support them in a broader way across the primary care continuum. This systematic overview aims to provide a picture of the nursing processes and their characteristics in chronic disease management as reported in empirical studies, using the Chronic Care Model (CCM) conceptual approach.MethodsWe conducted an umbrella review of systematic reviews published between 2005 and 2021 based on the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute. The methodological quality was assessed independently by two reviewers using the AMSTAR 2 tool.ResultsTwenty-six systematic reviews and meta-analyses were included, covering 394 primary studies. The methodological quality of most reviews was moderate. Self-care support processes show the most consistent positive outcomes across different conditions and primary care settings. Case management and nurse-led care show inconsistent outcomes. Most reviews report on the clinical components of the Chronic Care Model, with little mention of the decision support and clinical information systems components.ConclusionsPlacing greater emphasis on decision support and clinical information systems could improve the implementation of nursing processes. While the need for an interdisciplinary approach to primary care is widely promoted, it is important that this approach not be viewed solely from a clinical perspective. The organization of care and resources need to be designed to support contributions from all providers to optimize the full range of services available to patients with chronic conditions.PROSPERO registrationCRD42021220004.

The complexity management of financial and economic activity of the enterprise requires the search for qualitatively new approaches to the formation, systematization and analysis of information in order to identify and solve the problems of developing a strategy and tactics for the development of the enterprise. The purpose of the paper is the formation and justification of the structure of information support system’s formation concerning decisions in the diagnostics of financial and economic activity of the enterprise management efficiency, which is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of management decision-making of a strategic and tactical nature. The tasks of the information support system for diagnostics of financial and economic activity of the enterprise management efficiency have been determined, which allows to eliminate a number of causes of information uncertainty in the process of managing the enterprise's activities. It is proved that the system of information support for decision-making in the diagnosis of financial and economic activity of the enterprise management efficiency should be considered in the form of three interconnected subsystems, which are lower-order systems, namely: the financial and information system, the system of financial and information diagnostics and the system of detected financial problems. The author proposed a comprehensive functionality of all components of the information support system for decision-making support in the diagnosis of the management of the financial and economic activities of the enterprise, which will increase the validity and effectiveness of the management decisions made, taking into account the influence of the instability of the external and internal environment of its functioning.

Study and Development of IOT based Smart Irrigation System using Soil Moisture and Weather Prediction

Abstract: The smart irrigation system was developed to optimize water use of crops. The system has a distributed wireless network of soil-moisture temperature sensors placed in the root zone of the plants. Also, a gateway unit handles sensor information, triggers, actuators, and transmits data to the web application. The intelligence of The proposed system is based on a smart algorithm, which considers sensed data along with the weather forecast parameters like precipitation, air temperature, humidity, and UV for the near future. The complete system has been developed and deployed on a pilot scale, where the sensor node data is wirelessly collected over the cloud using web- services and a web-based information visualization and decision support system provides real-time information insights based on the analysis of sensor dataand weather forecast data. The paper describes the system and discusses in detail the information processing results of three weeks data based on the proposed algorithm. The system is fully functional and the prediction results are very encouraging

Hierarchical Structure Objects Information Systems Decision Support Developing Process

Application of methods for designing decision support information systems for hierarchical systems is considered. Determining the interaction parameters of methods for designing decision support information systems for managing hierarchical production and technical systems is an urgent scientific problem, the which solution makes a significant contribution to the development of technologies for designing decision support systems. The process of operation of a decision support system for the analysis of hierarchies using the full graphical interface technology, a functional model of an expert information system for the analysis of hierarchical structures is presented. Hierarchical production and technical systems are complex, which entails great complexity in the development of decision support information systems to manage them. This complexity creates the problem of 'crisis' in the development of such systems for hierarchical production and technical systems. Despite many advantages and a long history of successfully applying the unified design method to the development of information systems, it does not completely overcome the problem of this crisis. To overcome this problem for hierarchical production and technical systems, it is proposed to modify the unified design method and use the synergistic effect from the combined use of structural, object and visual modelling methods in the form of a new design method - a modified system design process. The article presents the scheme and algorithm of the proposed method, the results of the analysis of its application. The possibility of its application to systems with a hierarchical structure is established. Unlike traditional models of information systems, the decision support information system model built according to the new method successfully integrates various subject areas of knowledge due to its visibility and support for object-oriented design technologies, which allows it to be effectively used to create an expert information system model for complex technical systems.

A trajectory data warehouse solution for workforce management decision-making

In modern workforce management, the demand for new ways to maximize worker satisfaction, productivity, and security levels is endless. Workforce movement data such as those source data from an access control system can support this ongoing process with subsequent analysis. In this study, a solution to attaining this goal is proposed, based on the design and implementation of a data mart as part of a dimensional trajectory data warehouse (TDW) that acts as a repository for the management of movement data. A novel methodological approach is proposed for modeling multiple spatial and temporal dimensions in a logical model. The case study presented in this paper for modeling and analyzing workforce movement data is to support human resource management decision-making and the following discussion provides a representative example of the contribution of a TDW in the process of information management and decision support systems. The entire process of exporting, cleaning, consolidating, and transforming data is implemented to achieve an appropriate format for final import. Structured query language (SQL) queries demonstrate the convenience of dimensional design for data analysis, and valuable information can be extracted from the movements of employees on company premises to manage the workforce efficiently and effectively. Visual analytics through data visualization support the analysis and facilitate decision-making and business intelligence.

Smart Irrigation and Crop Health Prediction

The scarcity of clean water resources around the globe has generated a need for their optimum utilization Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, based on the application specific sensors’ data acquisition and intelligent processing are bridging the gaps between the cyber and physical world. IoT based smart irrigation systems can help in achieving optimum water-resource utilization in the precision farming landscape. This paper presents an open-source technology based smart system to predict the irrigation requirements of a field using the sensing of ground parameter like soil moisture soil temperature, and environmental conditions along with the weather forecast data from the Internet. The intelligence of the proposed system is based on a smart algorithm, which considers sensed data along with the weather forecast parameters like precipitation, air temperature, humidity, and UV for the near future. The complete system has been developed and deployed on a pilot scale, where the sensor node data is wirelessly collected over the cloud using web-services and a web-based information visualization and decision support system provides the real-time information-insights based on the analysis of sensors data and weather forecast data. The paper describes the system and discusses in detail the information processing results of three weeks data based on the proposed algorithm. The system is fully functional and the prediction results are very encouraging.

Negation detection in Dutch clinical texts: an evaluation of rule-based and machine learning methods

When developing models for clinical information retrieval and decision support systems, the discrete outcomes required for training are often missing. These labels need to be extracted from free text in electronic health records. For this extraction process one of the most important contextual properties in clinical text is negation, which indicates the absence of findings. We aimed to improve large scale extraction of labels by comparing three methods for negation detection in Dutch clinical notes. We used the Erasmus Medical Center Dutch Clinical Corpus to compare a rule-based method based on ContextD, a biLSTM model using MedCAT and (finetuned) RoBERTa-based models. We found that both the biLSTM and RoBERTa models consistently outperform the rule-based model in terms of F1 score, precision and recall. In addition, we systematically categorized the classification errors for each model, which can be used to further improve model performance in particular applications. Combining the three models naively was not beneficial in terms of performance. We conclude that the biLSTM and RoBERTa-based models in particular are highly accurate accurate in detecting clinical negations, but that ultimately all three approaches can be viable depending on the use case at hand.
