INSTITUTIONAL ASPECTS OF TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

The article is devoted to the study of the impact of institutional aspects on the transformation of the hospitality industry in Ukraine. The object of the study is the transformation processes of the hospitality industry, which took place under the influence of institutional factors. The paper analyses a number of scientific works by foreign and domestic scholars on understanding the concepts of "institution", "institute", "institutional environment" and its importance in the development of the hospitality industry in general. Methodology. The aim of the study is to analyse the impact of institutional factors on the transformational processes of development of the hospitality industry in Ukraine at the present stage. It is proposed to consider the institutional environment as a set of formal and informal institutions that at different levels have different impacts on the formation of the institutional system of society. The comparative characteristics of formal and informal institutions were compiled in order to clearly distinguish their differences and apply them correctly in building an effective institutional policy for the hospitality industry. It is proved that although formal institutions are relatively stable, their formation and preservation should be based on their perception by people in society as a factor in effectively solving certain problems. It was determined that Ukraine, as a country in a period of crisis (direct military action), should seriously consider institutional factors as a source of future direct investment, and weak institutional policies will raise concerns about the possibility of transferring management practices, procedures, and methods from other countries. The authors compiled a scheme of influence of factors on the formation of the institutional environment of the country as a whole and the hospitality industry, including political, legislative, economic, socio-cultural and ethical factors of influence. The publication examines the mutual influence of the institutional environment and the organisation, which is based on institutional ties, institutional pressure and institutional entrepreneurship. It has been found that an effective institutional environment stimulates the development of the hospitality industry, and a good institutional structure characterised by a strong rule of law, control of corruption, freedom of expression, a stable political environment, better regulation and good governance can open a new path for hospitality services. Conclusion. The results of the study are a significant contribution to the qualitative formation of the institutional environment of the hospitality industry.

Influence of Institutional Factors and Perception of Climate Change on Carbon Reduction Behavior in Taiwan Temples

In Asian countries where Buddhism and Taoism are mainstream religions, incense burning is a daily practice. Taiwan has the largest religious population in the world, and the ritual culture, especially in Minnan, hinders carbon reduction and impacts the environment negatively. In previous studies, the temple's carbon-reducing behaviors have not been dealt with seriously. Thus, we explored the relationship between the public and the temple's carbon-reducing behaviors under internal and external pressure using institutional theory to understand the public recognition of reducing the use of incense, gold paper burning, and firecrackers. We conducted an integrated analysis of the public's perception of climate change and carbon reduction behavior of temples using institutional theory, a strategy model. The results provide a basis for decision-making and suggestions for government agencies, academics, and companies in environmental protection and can be used to enhance the awareness of environmental protection caring for nature, and sustainable development in Taiwan.

Fostering sustainable entrepreneurial intention: the role of institutional factors

Abstract Sustainable entrepreneurship (SE) is crucial in achieving the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). However, many micro-, small- and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia are still considered conventional businesses; therefore, it is necessary to transform them into sustainable enterprises. The initial step is to build up their intention towards SE. However, studies pertaining to SE intention are still considered low. Therefore, this study examined the influence of institutional factors on SE intention among Malaysian MSMEs. The institutional model was employed in identifying the influencing factors, namely governmental actions, social norms, and time orientation. A quantitative research method was employed. The sample was selected using proportionate stratified sampling. A total of 342 owner-managers of manufacturing MSMEs were surveyed using an online self-administered questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed through partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that governmental actions, social norms, and time orientation were significant in influencing SE intention positively. It could be concluded that components in the institutional model should not be neglected in fostering SE intention. This study shed light on the applicability of institutional theory in studying SE intention and pointed out the crucial factors that should be taken into consideration when encouraging MSMEs to embark on SE.

Economic behavior of agricultural land market subjects

The purpose of the study is to build the agricultural land market subjects’ economic behavior models. The formation of rational land use in the agrarian sphere indicates influence of institutional factors – motives and interests of land owners that allow to ensure land distribution included in the market turnover between the most efficient users. The structural scheme of the agricultural land market subjects’ behavior motives has been proposed. The motives of sellers in the land market are to optimize income that is achieved by increasing a land plot attractiveness. Buyers are guided by the possession motives, use and disposal of land by acquiring a land plot. Sellers and buyers of land plots are individuals and legal entities. Agricultural organizations, individual entrepreneurs, farms, personal subsidiary plots, and citizens (rural population) participate in land sailing. Buyers in the market are owner, land user, landowner, and tenant. The functions of sellers and buyers have been systematized considering the purpose and action of the actors. Destructive and rational models of the agricultural land market actors’ economic behavior have been presented and developed. The application of the destructive model is associated with negative consequences characterized by land withdrawal from economic turnover, change of its intended purpose, and land transfer to another category. The rational model includes finding an optimal alternative under a set of constraints and provides for a high level of human intelligence and knowledge to make right decisions. Factors of this model are coordination of land ownership institutions and creation of a legal framework. It is characterized by strict administrative and legal regulation that contributes to eradication of shadowing in land relations. The area of application of the developed rational model of the agricultural land market subjects’ economic behavior is scientific organizations, agro-industrial complex management bodies at the regional and municipal levels, and agricultural producers.

Сorporate social responsibility of construction enterprises: status, development trends and implementation policy

Striving for sustainable development in the conditions of globalization processes and in the period of transformation of the country's economy, assessing the current state of corporate social responsibility (SCR) of construction enterprises, the need to study the state and trends of policy development and its implementation practice is determined.
 The social responsibility of companies, regarding the sustainable development of the whole society, is an important approach for construction enterprises in responding to new social and environmental problems.
 An important aspect of modern civilized business, including construction, is the basis of the csr concept, the implementation of which in the field of enterprise management has an extremely important direction not only for creating a positive image of the company, but also for increasing its competitiveness both on a global scale and at regional levels management. Therefore, the expediency of combining csr activities with the specifics of the company, which must invest in potentially useful areas of knowledge and innovative solutions, becomes especially important.
 The efficiency of construction enterprises that implement csr in their activities has not yet reached the optimal level, the influence of institutional factors on csr efficiency is complex and non-linear, and the improvement of csr efficiency in the construction industry depends on both the optimization of the institutional environment and the improvement of the potential of csr efficiency management.
 The necessary changes in the existing practice of csr management should have a certain systematicity, which should include the integration of csr principles, methods and tools in the economic activity of enterprises in order to ensure their competitiveness, achieve high productivity and profitability.
 The research was carried out with the help of a review of scientific literature, modern studies of expert organizations, public organizations and policy research on csr issues of construction enterprises. The results of the study showed that there have been major positive changes in the evolution of the csr concept in ukraine over the past few years, but there are still some unresolved problems with which enterprises are forced to work.

The purpose of this study was to study the impact of the safety technology system on safety performance in public construction project management sites with insufficient research results. Since October 6, 2020, the safety technician system has been implemented for public construction projects, but as the number of accidental deaths in public construction projects is still not decreasing, the safety technician system, which supervises construction company-centered safety management, has been suspended. The purpose of the study was to suggest ways to improve.
 The research model of the research method is a study to determine the influence of institutional factors, competency factors, and methodological factors as independent variable factors on safety performance. For the empirical study, a survey of 172 people was conducted targeting the ordering office, construction project management technicians, and construction companies. The valid surveys of 156 people, excluding 16 unfaithful respondents and missing answers, were used for statistical analysis. IBM SPSS 28 was used as the statistical analysis program. Reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted.
 As a result of the reliability analysis, the Cronbach's α coefficient of the institutional factor was 0.706, the competency factor was 0.915, and the method factor was 0.672, showing that the competency factor was the highest and the method factor was the lowest. As a result of the correlation analysis, the institutional factors and competency factors of the safety technician system were statistically significant at r=.692, p=.000, and the methodological factors and competency factors were r=-.223, p=.005. . However, the correlation between institutional factors and methodological factors was r = .037, p = .651, indicating that the correlation was not statistically significant. As a result of the regression analysis, the institutional factors showed a standard coefficient of .420 and a significance level of .000, the competency factors showed a standard coefficient of .266 and a significance level of .004, and the methodological factors showed a standard coefficient of .166 and a significance level of .013. +) was found to have an impact and was adopted.
 Through this study, empirical research results showed that the safety technician system is a system that improves safety and efficiency at public construction sites, and that it is an effective system for preventing accidents and reducing accident costs through continuous maintenance and improvement of the safety technician system. Confirmed. In the future, we hope that through follow-up research on private construction, a dedicated safety supervision system will be introduced early, contributing to preventing safety accidents and reducing accident costs at construction sites.

PARTNERSHIP AND DIVERSIFICATION: KEY COMPONENTS OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT ENTERPRISES OF BUSINESS-SEGMENT HoReCa

The article focuses on the analysis of strategic management in the hotel and restaurant industry (HoReCa), with a particular emphasis on the significance of partnerships and diversification strategies in contemporary conditions. The authors explore not only the key dimensions of these strategies but also their interaction with current industry trends. The study examines modern trends in HoReCa, taking into account shifts in consumer preferences and the implementation of digital technologies. The role of partnerships in strategic development is discussed, highlighting their importance in gaining competitive advantages. Diversification strategies, including their effectiveness and interaction with technological innovations, are also scrutinized. The authors shed light on how hotel and restaurant enterprises can expand their business portfolios by adapting to market changes and meeting the demands of the modern consumer. Special attention is given to the influence of institutional factors on the formulation of strategies in the HoReCa sector, including legislative and regulatory aspects. This understanding is crucial for comprehending the constraints and opportunities in choosing a strategic course. The authors identify directions that require attention from both researchers and practitioners for a more comprehensive understanding and improvement of strategic management in the hotel and restaurant business. In conclusion, the article makes a substantial contribution to understanding the key components of contemporary strategic management in HoReCa enterprises.

Fatores ambientais e internos da firma e o desempenho financeiro das empresas: um olhar sobre as empresas listadas na B3 sob a ótica da corrupção e da estabilidade político-econômica

Objective: to investigate the impact of corruption control and political-economic stability, combined with internal factors, defined by current liquidity, capital investments, size and debt, on the ROA, ROE and GI of publicly traded companies, listed on B3, in the period from 2011 to 2018.Methodology: multivariate regressions were applied with panel data using fixed effects on a sample of 270 publicly traded companies operating in B3 between 2011 and 2018. The sample considered annual, public data collected in the Economatica database.Originality: relatively few national studies dealt with the impact of corruption control mechanisms and political and economic stability on the financial performance of publicly traded Brazilian companies listed on B3. In addition, this work contributes as it seeks to expand the discussion on the analysis of business performance by incorporating an indicator of the companies' market value, defined by the degree of intangibility of the assets of the companies.Results: the corruption control mechanisms showed a positive correlation with the ROA and ROE, as expected, and a negative correlation with the GI, contrary to expectations, while the political and economic stability index, current liquidity, size and indebtedness were positively correlated with the ROA and ROE. Capital investments were not correlated with the financial performance of the companies studied.Theoretical contribution: to reinforce contemporary discussions on the influence of institutional factors, such as corruption and political and economic instability, and intra-firm factors, such as current liquidity, capital investments, size and indebtedness, in relation to economic-financial performance of companies, offering evidence for the formation of a theory capable of explaining the mechanisms of action of the perception of corruption and political-economic instability, together with microeconomic elements, on the performance of organizations.

Modeling the factors of portfolio at risk for microfinance institutions in Palestine

The main objective of this paper is to examine the determinants of portfolio at risk in Palestine by analyzing the impact of macroeconomic and micro-level factors on credit risk for microfinance institutions during the period of 2010–2020. This study includes five regulated MFIs using generalized method of moment estimator. The findings indicate that portfolio at risk is more sensitive to the institutional factors and economic cycle. The operating efficiency and number of loan officers have positive and significant effect on credit risk. However, growth in GDP and number of active borrowers have negative and significant effect on credit risk. But, no evidence supports the impact of inflation and interest rate on vulnerability of credit risk. The conclusion presented may be useful for MFI directors and regulators in timely repayments and credit risk control. Overall, our ample evidence suggests that MFIs directors should consider the influence of institutional factors on their investment and credits decisions.

Incentive Mechanism Analysis of Environmental Governance Using Multitask Principal–Agent Model

In view of the principal–agent relationship between local government and pollution enterprise in environmental governance, this paper established a multitask principal–agent model, gave the optimal contract form of local government incentive to enterprises, examined the influencing factors of the optimal incentive contract, and focused on analyzing the influences of institutional factors, enterprise types and enterprise attributes on the optimal incentive contract. The results show that the optimal incentive contract is affected by the influence coefficient of enterprise economic benefits on local government revenue, the environmental index weight in government performance systems, the types of enterprise, the risk preference of enterprise, the variance in economic benefits, the variance in pollution emission reduction, the ability of economic benefits, the direct cost of emission reduction and the economic cost (income) of emission reduction. In order to realize the coordinated development of economy and environment, the establishment and adjustment of optimal incentive contract should be established or adjusted according to the institutional factors, different types of enterprise, and the enterprise characteristics. Local governments should divide enterprises into traditional enterprises and green innovative enterprises in the process of management. The policy formulation of the local government should be based on the characteristics of the system and cooperate with the national strategy. Local governments should actively collect and master the attribute information of the enterprises, including risk preference, profit model, pollution control technology and ability, management experience and level, production mode and green innovation ability. Local governments should combine the types of enterprises, the characteristics of institutions and the attributes of enterprises, and adjust various policies and measures more flexibly.

СУПЕРЕЧЛИВИЙ ВПЛИВ ІНСТИТУЦІЙНИХ ЗМІН НА ЕКОНОМІЧНИЙ РОЗВИТОК КРАЇН ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИЙ РЕГІОНУ

The article describes the contradictory impact of institutional changes on the economic development of the European region countries. The article’s topic is a relevant theoretical problem within the framework of research into the new institutional theory, as it substantiates ways of realizing the negative impact of inefficient institutions on the process of economic systems development. The theoretical basis of the convergence and divergence of the development trajectories of economic systems in the context of the implementation of institutional reform is analyzed. The author notes that the process of institutional changes is not uniform and its result can be both effective and ineffective institutions, which become the basis of divergent trajectories of the development of economic systems. As a result of the theoretical analysis, the author substantiated the hypothesis regarding the contradictory influence of institutional factors on the socio-economic development of economic systems. The key institutional factors that can influence economic development are described such as property rights defence, access to capital, human capital, level of corruption, social inequality, economic policy etc. According to the results of the conducted econometric analysis of institutional indicators of economic development of the European region countries that is based on statistical data from recent years, it was empirically established that there is a convergent-divergent influence of institutional factors on the economic development of the European region countries. It can be explained because the institutional environments of analyzed countries have unique development trajectories that reflect complex and other convergent-divergent processes when the accumulated elements of the system create an individual unique integrity that differs from country to country. The author also warns that the described directions of Ukraine’s institutional reforming should not be carried out as an exception but purposefully in the form of implementing a long-term strategy for reforming all areas of social life.

The purpose of the article is to disclose the influence of institutional factors on the formation of the effects of the introduction of a central bank digital currency and to substantiate the prerequisites for the possible introduction of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the Ukrainian system of financial and institutional coordinates. The carried out study concludes that the global regulatory community has no final certainty about the very fact of creating such a revolutionary payment mechanism. At the same time, approaches to the design, goals, and possible results of putting the CBDC into circulation are focused on functional areas of analysis, while the issue of the influence of the institutional environment on the formation of the effects of the digital transformation of the monetary space requires a more thorough research. The search for answers to the question of how to use the CBDC to form a controlled, inclusive, transparent, and efficient financial and institutional space should include, as an essential constituent, an analysis of trust in the actions of the government and the central bank at each stage of the CBDC development. The poor and complex experience of introducing the CBDC demonstrates that in the absence of a sufficient level of trust, the financial, economic, and social situation becomes destabilized. The experience of introducing digital currency in an unstable economic environment shows that a central bank’s digital currency can be introduced only if there is a high level of trust in the national currency, the monetary policy pursued by the central bank, and a low level of inflation; the conversion of the national currency into digital form should be preceded by an effective monetary policy aimed at increasing the reliability of the national currency. The author concludes that, given the revolutionary nature of the reform, the introduction of digital currency cannot be used as an element of stabilization measures and cannot be considered a monetary experiment; its prospects should be conditioned by general economic and monetary stabilization.

ІНСТИТУЦІЙНІ ФАКТОРИ ФОРМУВАННЯ КОНКУРЕНТОСПРОМОЖНОСТІ ЯК СКЛАДОВА СОЦІАЛЬНО-ЕКОНОМІЧНОГО РОЗВИТКУ РЕГІОНУ

The article examines the influence of institutional factors on the competitiveness and economic security of regions. Institutional factors are classified by the nature of their influence on the competitiveness of regions and by their scope. It was determined that institutional factors affect the competitiveness of industries and sectors of the region's economy by stimulating the development of certain sectors of the economy and cooperation between enterprises within the framework of clusters. The expediency and peculiarities of the formation of clusters in order to improve competitive positions and increase the level of economic security of the region are considered in detail. In the formation of high competitive positions of the region, it is institutional factors that can contribute to the development of clusters, that is, the union of enterprises specializing in the production of similar goods and services. The use of clustering and the formation of clusters makes it possible to increase regional competitiveness by increasing production efficiency and reducing costs and risks. It was determined that in order to increase competitiveness, it is necessary to carry out institutional changes, in particular, to improve legislation, strengthen the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies, decentralize power, and develop the social sphere. Suggestions for improving the legislation have been put forward, stressing that ineffective regulatory acts can complicate business development and investment attraction. It is also noted that the irresponsible activity of law enforcement agencies can negatively affect the investment climate of the region. In addition, an important aspect is the decentralization of power, which allows regions to manage resources more efficiently and make decisions aimed at development. Special attention is paid to initiatives related to the development of the social sphere, since a high level of its development creates favorable conditions for the life and work of the population, which in turn contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the region in terms of labor force.

Institutional Factors for Institutional Repositories Usage by Lecturers in Federal Universities in Nigeria

The objective of the study is to investigate the influence of institutional factors on and institutional repositories’ usage by lecturers in federal universities in Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive design. A total of five hundred and forty copies of questionnaire were administered on respondents from the selected federal universities in Nigeria. The population of this study comprised all lecturers in the federal universities selected for this study totaling 7,591. The multi stage sampling procedure and purposive sampling technique was adopted for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The instrument tagged “Institutional Factors and Use of Institutional Repositories’ Questionnaire (IFUIRQ)” consists of three sections. The test-retest method was employed using the Cronbach’s reliability technique to determine the reliability of the instrument. Findings from the research revealed organizational culture, environmental and motivational factors as the dominant and prevalent institutional factors that support research in federal universities in Nigeria while inaugural lectures, seminar papers, photographs, notebooks, illustrations and drawings and newspapers were the most prevalent types of information materials available in the knowledge and institutional repositories of Federal universities in Nigeria. The study further revealed that the major purposes of using institutional knowledge repositories by the lecturers include; for preparation of seminar/lecture notes, writing papers/proposals, seminars presentations, research works and lecture series. This research established occasional institutional repositories’ usage by the lecturers and a significant positive relationship between institutional factors and institutional repositories’ usage such that an improvement in institutional factors would lead to increase in institutional repositories’ usage. It is recommended that the formulation and implementation of adequate university-wide policy that would encourage and supports institutional repositories’ usage by the university management.

THE ROLE OF INSTITUTIONAL FACTORS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL BUSINESS IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate the influence of institutional factors and, above all, the institutional environment on the development of small business in the conditions of digitalization of the economy. The quality of the institutional environment largely determines the possibilities of unlocking its potential Today, it can be clearly stated that the Russian institutional environment is very unstable due to the crisis situation caused by the tightening of sanctions. Small business has not yet recovered from the pandemic, and the increasing uncertainty in the Russian economy cannot but affect the expectations of small businesses. Small business incomes do not only lack growth, they are shrinking. All this confirms the need to adjust the institutions and mechanisms of the system of state support for small business, taking into account its capabilities in the digital economy. Small businesses objectively feel the need to use digital technologies in their activities, because they allow you to expand its capabilities. This further actualizes the need for systemic measures to support it in various fields of activity in the context of digital transformation.
 In the study of the tasks set, the methods of theoretical analysis were used: the method of scientific abstraction, statistical analysis, the method of expert assessments, as well as synthesis, deduction and induction.

What Determines The Outcomes Of Public Procurement Arbitration?

ABSTRACT The strengths and weaknesses of arbitration compared to litigation, as a system for solving procurement disputes between governments and their private counterparts has been a subject of debate among scholars. A particularly sensitive topic relates to the impartiality standards of each system and the determinants of its outcomes. Using a unique database of national arbitration resolutions we analyze the determinants of awards in procurement disputes related to public works. Estimating a cross-section model, we find evidence in favor of party capability theory and the influence of institutional factors in arbitration outcomes, like amendments to procurement law or the characteristics of the organization in charge of administering these processes. As well, we find indirect evidence that suggests that adverse outcomes for government entities are related with the lack of individual incentives of officials to settle with private contractors, and the presence of presumably undue influence among private contractors and arbitrators.

Moderation of Institutional Factors on the Relationship between Stakeholders' Management Practice and Sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project in Embu County, Kenya

The sustainability of a project is indicated by continuous benefits to the targeted beneficiaries. However, the concept of project sustainability has erroneously been generalized without consideration of the context in which it is built. In addition, projects operate in dynamically unique environments which persuade sustainability decisions and outcomes. The present study sought to achieve two objectives, namely: To determine the influence of stakeholders' management practices on the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project in Embu County, and To examine the moderating influence of institutional factors on the relationship between stakeholders' management practice and the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project in Embu County The study was anchored by sustainability, institutional, and stakeholders' theory. A descriptive survey research design with a cross-sectional approach was adopted. The targeted population was 152 personnel, including 7 managers and 145 registered dairy farmers. A sample size of 108 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan table for selecting sample sizes given the total population. The 108 respondents were picked through systematic random sampling (101 farmers) and census (7 managers). Narrative and numerical data were collected using interviews and structured questionnaires correspondingly. Statistical Packages for Social Sciences were used in the computation of numerical data. Descriptive statistics, such as percentage, mean, frequency, and standard deviation, were generated from the quantitative data. Also, parametric tests like Pearson correlational analysis and regression analysis were used in the data analysis. Narrative data were coded, and themes and summaries were generated. Hypotheses were tested at a 95% confidence interval using the F-test. Statistical data were summarized in tables. The relationship between stakeholders' management practice and the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project was found to be strong and positive (r = 0.77), and management practice predicted a 59% variation in the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project (R Square= 0.59). Thus, the null hypotheses were rejected, and it concluded that stakeholders' management practices have a significant relationship with the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project. The introduction of institutional factors to stakeholders' management practice caused a 19% variation in the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project. The 19% was statistically significant for p equals to 0.00, which is less than 0.05. This led to the rejection of the null hypothesis and concluded that institutional factors moderated the relationship between stakeholders' management practices and the sustainability of Ugweri Dairy Project. Project planners and designers should ensure that stakeholders are continuously engaged while prioritizing their needs and interest and resolving disputes to promote the delivery of sustainable impacts. The findings from the current study provide empirical evidence upon which the government can rely to develop operational guidelines with regard to stakeholder participation while aligning their needs with the development projects. Equally, the government can legislate on establishing a dispute-handling mechanism between stakeholders and project developers while strengthening and stabilizing the environments in which projects operate. Influence of institutional factors on the civil engineering student performance in Brazil

ABSTRACT The reasons why Brazilian civil engineering education has not achieved competitive performance worldwide remain unclear. Thus, this study aims to identify what factors influence student performance in civil engineering undergraduate programs in public institutions in Brazil. Multiple linear regression methods were used to analyse the interactions between the student performance (dependent variable) and the professors’ and universities’ attributes (predictors). The analysis shows that the professor’s qualification and didactics are significant attributes, as are the time of the program’s existence, the academic organisation (if it is annual or semester courses), and the institutions’ administrative jurisdiction. The discussion presented possible explanations for each attribute’s contribution. The study adds to the theory of predicting student performance in a developing country scenario, in this case, Latin America, where engineering education has less investments in academic infrastructure and human capital.
