Building Eco-Friendly Cities: Government-Community Collaboration In Shaping Sustainable Urban Waste Management

The development of eco-friendly cities necessitates collaboration between the government and communities in shaping sustainable urban waste management. The issue of waste presents a significant challenge in efforts to enhance environmental quality and public health in urban areas. Well-managed waste not only reduces negative environmental impacts but also creates new economic opportunities. In this context, this research employs a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and observation techniques to examine waste management in Ambon City. In-depth interviews were conducted with informants from the Ambon City Environmental and Waste Management Agency, while document studies were utilized to analyze information related to waste issues in the city. The findings indicate that collaboration between the government and communities is crucial for achieving success in waste management. Ambon City and its residents require joint efforts to address waste issues, particularly due to the low level of public awareness regarding government efforts in waste management. Increased community participation and full government support are necessary to achieve clean, healthy, and sustainable urban environments.

Bibliometric Analysis of Islamic Crowdfunding: A Literature Review of Its Journey

Background The potential of Islamic crowdfunding to encourage the development of Islamic fintech globally, even in countries with non-Muslim majority populations, needs to be examined in a literature study on this issue. More extensive research is needed regarding the factors that most reliably predict the success of Islamic crowdfunding, such as compliance with Islamic crowdfunding laws, sustainability, and the potential of Islamic finance. This article describes a comprehensive and systematic Literature Review (SLR) regarding papers published in the field of Islamic crowdfunding. This research aims to contribute to a better understanding of Islamic crowdfunding, provide useful information for practitioners, and stimulate further research in the field to increase the success of Islamic crowdfunding. Methods We conducted a review of selected papers to identify gaps and significant issues in Islamic crowdfunding, providing guidance for future researchers. This article review was based on 704 articles retrieved using the keyword “Islamic crowdfunding” from the Scopus database between 2013 and 2022. To minimize bias, we formulated 5 research questions to guide our analysis: RQ1: How do publication and citation rates vary annually? RQ2: How can we determine the most influential studies based on citation counts for each keyword? RQ3: What are the most common subject areas addressed in Islamic crowdfunding literature from 2013 to 2022? RQ4: What are the most frequently used keywords in Scopus documents? RQ5: How are Islamic values discussed in articles related to Islamic crowdfunding? Results The findings of this research demonstrate that Islamic crowdfunding, characterized by interdisciplinary scholarship, has emerged as an increasingly significant alternative for aiding society and the economy. It contributes to poverty alleviation and the development of specific sectors through channels such as crowdfunding for small and medium enterprises and social projects tailored to meet the diverse needs of Muslims. However, the challenge facing the future development of Sharia crowdfunding is that, despite its benefit of increasing community participation in projects aligned with religious values, it also carries the potential risk of investment losses and non-compliance with Sharia principles. Ways to address the current scarcity of Sharia fintech are also needed, ensuring its broader acceptance across all societal levels, and enhancing Muslims’ understanding of compliance with Islamic religious rules, particularly Fiqh law. Conclusion Urgently needed are specific fiqh regulatory guidelines to ensure that Sharia-compliant crowdfunding adheres to Islamic principles. Government support, particularly through legislation in countries where the majority of the population is Muslim, is crucial to enhance public participation and trust in Sharia crowdfunding.

Citizen science as a vehicle to address multiple policy objectives: Case studies from Australia.

Despite increasing interest in citizen science as an approach to engage members of the public in research and decision making about health and wellbeing, there is a lack of practical evidence to guide policy and practice organisations to utilise these approaches. In this study we investigated how and why citizen science came to be incorporated into the work of two policy organisations. We offer two in-depth case studies of Australian government organisations which have utilised citizen science in environmental and healthy ageing policy. Interviews with organisational informants and relevant documents were analysed inductively to explore how citizen science came to be adopted, legitimised and supported. Citizen science was utilised to address multiple organisational objectives, including increasing community participation in science; enhancing individuals' wellbeing, learning, and skills, and generating data to support research and policy in a relatively cost-effective manner. In both cases, grant funding was a mechanism to support citizen science, with project delivery facilitated through academic-policy partnerships and led by external academic or community partners. Although citizen science is relatively new in policy and practice settings, this study underscores the value of these approaches in realising co-benefits for organisations, academics, and community members. The support and advocacy of senior managers as 'champions', and a willingness to invest in trialling new approaches to address policy problems are necessary ingredients to foster acceptance and legitimacy of citizen science. SO WHAT?: Citizen science initiatives can be strategically utilised by health promotion organisations to enact priorities related to genuine community involvement, support research and innovation and facilitate collaboration and partnerships between academic, policy and community stakeholders.

Edukasi Partisipatif Tentang Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu Bagi Masyarakat Sebagai Upaya Untuk Melestarikan Hutan Kalimantan

This community service aims to increase community knowledge around Special Purpose Forest Areas (KHDTK) regarding non-timber forest products (HHBK) and increase community awareness and participation in maintaining and utilizing forest products sustainably. The method of implementing this service used participatory-based education. Evaluation of activities used questionnaire instruments and pretest-posttest analysis. To determine the effectiveness of using the service method, use the normalized gain score and the N-Gain effectiveness interpretation category. The results of this service showed that educational activities about HHBK for the community around the KHDTK area of Tanjungpura University, which were carried out in Simpang Kasturi Village were quite effective. The knowledge of the Simpang Kasturi Village community about HHBK increased by 61.4% after educational activities were carried out. People were increasingly aware of the importance of protecting and preserving forests, especially forest areas in Simpang Kasturi Village.

STRATEGI PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI MELALUI INOVASI TEKNOLOGI AIR BERSIH: STUDI KASUS PENERAPAN REVERSE OSMOSIS DAN PERINTISAN BISNIS

The helplessness of coastal communities in processing salt and brackish water into drinking water is a great irony of modern society, in the midst of technological advances and the industrial era 4.0. The problem in the coastal areas of Sungai Kakap subdistrict, Kubu Raya district, is the lack of availability of clean water and the absence of clean water infrastructure. Peat groundwater in coastal deltas cannot support the use of groundwater sources due to high levels of acid and organic substances. This can trigger problems of poor community sanitation and cause the community's inability to optimize the potential of villages that have abundant natural resources. This activity aims to empower and increase community participation in designing and processing brackish/salt water into drinking water using Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology to meet the need for hygienic ready-to-drink water. Small scale water treatment system design using ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. The raw water used comes from river surface water in coastal areas. The small-scale water treatment design consists of two FRP tubes containing filter media, three filter cartridges, and UF and RO membranes. Two thrust pumps, with a minimum pressure specification of 40 m, are used to provide pressure that exceeds osmosis pressure so that raw water can be filtered through the RO membrane. The results of the activity show that the implementation of the RO system has succeeded in increasing the availability of clean water in Sungai Itik Village, which previously experienced challenges in providing adequate water supply. In addition, the integration of local business startups with RO technology opens up new opportunities for local residents to participate in the local economy and increase family income. Key factors supporting the success of this economic empowerment strategy were identified, including active community involvement in planning and implementation, collaboration between local government and local stakeholders, and adoption of new technologies and skills by local communities. This activity provides an important contribution in understanding the role of clean water technology innovation as a catalyst for local economic transformation in coastal areas. The practical implications of these findings can help decision makers in designing sustainable and effective policies to improve the welfare of coastal communities through sustainable economic empowerment. The use of this technology can help increase the availability of clean water in areas that previously experienced difficulties in this regard.

A Rancang Bangun Aplikasi Kas Rute12 Berbasis Web pada RT 012 RW004 Tanah Merdeka Jakarta Timur

The monthly contribution payment system at RT 012 RW 004 Tanah Merdeka, East Jakarta, still relies on a manual process using a contribution book, making it prone to errors and discrepancies between the money collected and the recording report. To overcome this problem, a web-based application has been developed called RUTE12. This application aims to simplify the tasks of RT officers in recording and managing finances while increasing community involvement. With the introduction of digitalization, it is hoped that it can reduce calculation errors, align the amounts collected with reports, and increase service efficiency. RUTE12 also plays a role in increasing community participation in various RT/RW activities, providing positive benefits for improving the financial system at the RT level, and being an inspiration for similar developments in various regions.

Analysis of the Effectiveness of Midwifery Care in Health Observations of 24-Month-Old Toddlers: Study in Kute Rayang Village, Central Aceh, Indonesia

Toddler health is an important indicator of public health and nation development. Midwifery care plays an important role in maintaining the health of toddlers, including observing the health of toddlers aged 24 months. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of midwifery care in observing the health of 24-month-old toddlers in Kute Rayang Village, Central Aceh, Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional observational design with a sample of 100 toddlers aged 24 months who were selected at simple random. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and physical examination. Data analysis was carried out using Chi-square and T-test. The results showed that midwifery care in observing the health of 24-month-old toddlers in Kute Rayang Village, Central Aceh, Indonesia was quite effective. As many as 80% of toddlers have undergone complete health observation by midwives. Observation of toddler health has increased complete immunization coverage (p<0.05), nutritional status of toddlers (p<0.05), and maternal knowledge about toddler health (p<0.05). Midwifery care in health observations for 24-month-old toddlers in Kute Rayang Village, Central Aceh, Indonesia is quite effective, but can still be improved. Increasing the effectiveness of midwifery care can be done through various efforts, including increasing the knowledge and skills of midwives, increasing community access to health services, and increasing community participation in maintaining the health of toddlers.

Eco-Gender Gap Dalam Pemeliharaan Lingkungan di Desa Wisata (Kasus : Rumah Tangga Anggota Komunitas Pecinta Lingkungan di Desa Wisata Batulayang, Kecamatan Cisarua, Kabupaten Bogor)

Batulayang Tourism Village is one of West Java Province's sustainable tourism villages. Gender equality in environmental preservation are an important factor in efforts to preserve the ecological environment. Men and women share equal responsibility for environmental preservation. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between environmental preservation and the level of the gender gap. This study uses a mixed method exploratory sequential design approach, applying in-depth interviews for qualitative followed by questionnaires for quantitative data collection. The respondents in this research are 30 household members of the environmental community and 5 people research subjects who were in Ecovillage Program. The Spearman Rank Correlation and Chi-Square Test were utilised in this data processing for quantitative data. The research findings indicate that the Ecovillage Programe has sufficiently increased community participation to care more about the surrounding environment; however, in its implementation in the household sphere, the lack of gender-based environmental awareness causes there to still be a gap between husbands and wives in environmental management because environmental management is often associated with women's domestic role.

Community empowerment efforts in improving environmental health

Methods such as education, training, active participation, and collaboration between related parties, communities can gain the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to maintain a healthy environment. The results of these empowerment activities include increased community participation in environmental decision-making, behavior change towards sustainable practices, development of environmentally friendly communities, and broader collaboration in solving environmental problems. In conclusion, community empowerment efforts not only provide benefits in improving environmental health, but also strengthen community capacity in contributing to overall sustainable development. Synergy between various parties is the key to achieving significant and sustainable changes in maintaining environmental health for a sustainable future.

Analysis of Foundation Organization Dynamics in Advancing Community Education

The background of analyzing the dynamics of foundation organizations in advancing community education lies in the increasing need for effective mechanisms to address societal educational challenges. By scrutinizing the operational dynamics of such organizations, insights can be gained into their pivotal role in shaping community educational landscapes. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for devising strategies that optimize their contributions to enhancing societal learning outcomes. This study analyzes the dynamics of foundation organizations in efforts to enhance community education. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, researchers identify the main challenges faced by foundations in this context. The research method involves analysis of relevant literature sources. The findings indicate that factors such as resource management, leadership, and community involvement influence the effectiveness of foundations in advancing community education. These findings offer valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers to improve the performance of foundation organizations in supporting community education. Bureaucratic Behavior in Increasing Community Participation: Study of the Implementation of Village Development

This study investigated the impact of bureaucratic conduct on promoting community involvement in village development and evaluated and analyzed the behavior of bureaucrats. This research employs a qualitative descriptive design. This study gathers data via four distinct stages: pre-field, field work, data processing, and report writing. Community participation at every level or process of development is crucial for achieving success, as shown by the study findings. Community participation is a crucial aspect of development and serves as an indicator of its efficiency, but it often remains insufficient. The lack of community participation in the development process may be attributed to the ineffectiveness of bureaucratic leadership, communication, and education, resulting in poor operation of the process. The coordination between District Heads, Service Branches, and District Level Agencies has not been in accordance with the work program. The community in Wasior District lacks education, rendering them devoid of authority and unable to make informed decisions on development programs that align with their specific requirements. There has been a deficiency in the implementation of efficient village administration and direction for community institutions. Government-led development initiatives have overwhelmingly overshadowed ongoing development efforts in the last 5 years, neglecting the aspirations and requirements of local communities. Community property ownership policies impede both economic progress and community involvement.

INCREASING COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN COLLECTIVE CLEAN AND HEALTHY LIVING PRACTICES THROUGH A COMMUNITY HEALTH CULTURE APPROACH IN OECUSSE VILLAGE, TIMOR LESTE

Clean and healthy living behavior is directly related to efforts to improve the level of public health. Therefore, it must be applied starting from households, educational institutions, workplaces, public places, to health facilities. The activity was carried out with the aim of increasing community participation in collective clean and healthy living practices through a community health culture approach in Oecusse Village, Timor Leste in September 2023. Implementation used the "individual and group counseling" method. Where, all communities are given counseling with the aim that they can individually and in groups understand, change their daily culture regarding personal and environmental hygiene and determine attitudes and actions regarding the source of their own and collective environmental health problems. The evaluation process was carried out before and after the activity to measure the abilities and changes in attitudes of 35 families with 85 participants regarding the counseling material. The pre-test results found that the majority (89.8%) of the counseling participants did not understand the importance of establishing a culture of clean and healthy living both individually and collectively in supporting efforts to improve the level of public health. However, after confirmation from the results of the outreach, it was discovered that 100% of religious leaders could understand the culture of clean and healthy living. This starts from indicators of ability to answer and choose the type of PHBS tool that must be used and knowing how to use it in the simulation stage.

Analisis Kebijakan Pendaftaran Tanah Sistematis Lengkap dan Implikasinya terhadap Pembangunan Berkelanjutan di Kota Baubau

This study aims to examine the Complete Systematic Land Registration (CSLR) policy in Baubau City and its impact on sustainable development. This study used qualitative methods by using interviews, document analysis, and field observations to collect data. A sample of respondents consisting of government officials, community members, and community leaders was selected by purposive sampling. Based on the analysis conducted, this study concludes that the successful implementation of CSLR policies in Baubau City has significant implications for sustainable development, including inclusive economic growth, social stability, and increased community participation in the regional development process. Understanding the dynamics of this policy can assist the government and stakeholders in implementing appropriate measures to ensure its sustainable benefits to the people and environment in the city. This research makes a significant contribution to the field of public policy and sustainable development by increasing understanding of policy effectiveness approaches in the context of land registration policies at the local level. This research also provides insight into the factors that influence the successful implementation of CSLR policies. However, this study on CSLR policy and sustainable development in Baubau City has some limitations. The study focuses only on policy aspects without considering the perspectives of local communities, who have unique knowledge and experience and can provide valuable insights into policy implications. Therefore, future research needs to expand the scope of analysis to include policy results, implementation processes, and constraints faced by policy implementers and the public.

Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dalam Usaha Penguatan Literasi dan Numerasi: Studi di Desa Putat Kidul Kecamatan Gondanglegi Kabupaten Malang

The implementation of Community Empowerment is an important process in improving the quality of life of the community and increasing community participation. One of them is in strengthening literacy, which is a key strategy in increasing the capacity of individuals and community groups to face challenges in an increasingly complex information age. This study aims to explain the concepts, strategies, and impacts of community empowerment implementation by explaining how community empowerment is implemented in various contexts of strengthening literacy, focusing on improving the ability to read, write, and understand information in Putat Kidul Village. The research method used in this journal is a qualitative research method by conducting interviews, observations, and document analysis to collect data with community members involved in empowerment programs. The author uses 4 research focuses, namely the provision of resources, opportunities, knowledge and skills. The results of this study show that community empowerment in an effort to strengthen literacy and numeracy in Putat Kidul Village, Gondanglegi District has not been carried out optimally due to inadequate technological resources for the teaching and learning process such as laptops and projectors.

Barriers to enrolment of clients into community client led anti-retroviral therapy delivery (CCLAD) in selected health facilities in Kasese District, Uganda

Background: Community Client Led Anti-retroviral therapy Delivery (CCLAD) Model has been associated with increased community participation and ownership, which leads to better treatment outcomes with reduced workload and increased client satisfaction of health services.
 Aim: To explore the barriers to enrolment of eligible clients into CCLAD in selected health facilities in Kasese District, Uganda.
 Materials & methods: Analytical cross-sectional study utilizing mixed method approach was conducted among 384 PLWHIV attending public health facilities of Kasese District. Sampling was done by simple random sampling method. Data was collected using researcher-administered questionnaire method and interview guide.
 Results: Most of the respondents 253(65.9%) had not yet enrolled into CCLAD. This was due to some client-related factors such as non-disclosure of HIV sero-status (p=0.040), person to whom HIV sero-status was disclosed to (p=0.009), not having ever heard about CCLAD (p=0.000), incorrect description of CCLAD (p=0.000), limited knowledge of advantages of CCLAD (p=0.000) or disadvantages of CCLAD (p=0.003). Other barriers were; failure to have access to organizations or groups that support PLWHIV to get treatment (p=0.025) and duration of ART refills [AOR=1.637, 95% CI (0.820 – 3.270)].
 Conclusion: Adoption of CCLAD model among PLWHIV in Kasese District is still low.

The relationship of health insurance ownership with the utilization of health services in coastal rural and urban communities (Case Study: Kapoiala Health Centre, Soropia and Nambo Health Centre) Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, 2023

Background: Health is a human right and every citizen has the right to receive health services. Therefore, the Indonesian government must guarantee that every resident gets quality health services through the implementation of national health insurance as a global commitment for every country to implement universal health coverage. In Indonesia, the number of Social Security Administrator participants reached 248.77 million people or the equivalent of 90.73% of the entire population of Indonesia which was recorded at 274.20 million people, while in Southeast Sulawesi the number of Social Security Administrator participants was 8,071,716 people. Method: The type of research used is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional study approach, namely looking for the relationship between ownership of health insurance and utilization of rural and urban coastal community health services (case studies: Kapoiala Health Center, Soropia Health Center and Nambo Health Center) The number of samples in this research was 1,040 people consisting of 535 urban coastal respondents and 505 rural coastal respondents. The sampling techniques are purposive sampling and accidental sampling. The analysis used in this research is chi-square analysis. Results: The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between ownership of health insurance and utilization of health services with a ρvalue (0.037) < 0.05 in the working areas of the Kapoiala Health Center, Soropia Health Center and Nambo Health Center, Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between ownership of health insurance and utilization of rural and urban coastal community health services in the working areas of Kapoiala Health Center, Soropia Health Center and Nambo Health Center, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the acceleration of social security administrator membership to reach 100% UHC through regional government and central government schemes. social security administrator needs to increase socialization with various media that are more effective in increasing community participation in becoming social security administrator participants.

Does nutritional support under programmatic settings result in weight and body mass index changes among tuberculosis patients? Evidence on the impact of nutritional support through Pradhan Mantri Tuberculosis Mukt Bharat Abhiyan under national tuberculosis elimination programme from Ramgarh district of Jharkhand

Background: To increase community participation in tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts, the government of India has launched ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharath Abhiyan’ (PMTBMBA) under the national TB elimination programme. The scheme allows interested parties (Ni-kshay mitras) to offer nutritional support to TB patients. This study aims to understand the impact of such a support in improving weight and body mass index (BMI) among TB patients as most available evidence comes from research settings. Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study carried out in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand, India, for the period first quarter 2023. Relevant data was extracted from Ni-kshay web portal and TB treatment cards. The data is analyzed using excel 365. Results: Of the 114 participants, 69 received nutritional support during the entire duration of treatment and 45 received support partially. Single factor ANOVA on weight and BMI gain revealed statistically significant difference in mean weight/BMI between the two groups with F (1, 110)=35.4660, p=3.16×10-08 and F (1, 110)=22.9994, p=5.12×10-06. Correlation analysis showed a moderate correlation between the number of nutritional kits received and the weight/BMI gain with correlation coefficients r=0.5, p=1.07×10-07 and r=0.4, p=1.65×10-05 respectively. Conclusions: The study concludes that the impact of nutritional supplementation in programmatic setting is comparable with that of implementation research study settings.

PERAN PONDOK PESANTREN DALAM PENGEMBANGAN MASYARAKAT DI ERA GLOBALISASI

This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in community development in the era of globalization. So far, Islamic boarding schools are known to be limited to traditional religious educational institutions with kyai and santri components. However, currently, Islamic boarding schools have made great progress in various ways, not only as traditional religious educational institutions but also as pioneers of social transformation. Therefore, this research is important as a vehicle for communicating to the government or the wider community about the role of Islamic boarding schools in their development. Community development is a fundamental concept that underlines many well-established terms such as resource development, rural community development, community economic development, rural revitalization and community-based development. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach with the nature of library research with data collection techniques obtained through relevant literature: journals, textbooks and online literature. The research results show that the role of Islamic boarding schools has been implemented well in community development, which shows the quality of social relations and planned and gradual progress, such as improving public services and facilities, increasing local government accountability, increasing community participation, improving leadership, building new institutions, and initiate economic and physical development. Maladministration in Licensing Service: A study at the Office of One Mop Integrated Services and Investment, Ternate City

The government has consistently endeavored to enhance community welfare by improving public services, empowering communities, and fostering increased community participation. In this new service paradigm, the public is regarded as the service user, while the government assumes the role of the service provider. This study seeks to gain insights into the public’s perceptions of the licensing service process at the Office of One Stop Integrated Services and Investment in Ternate City. This research takes a qualitative approach, focusing on comprehending the socially constructed nature of reality. Specifically, it aims to address how social experiences are shaped and given meaning. This understanding is rooted in the belief that humans are symbolic beings who actively seek meaning in their lives. The findings of this study reveal that the public still expresses grievances and disappointments concerning the standard service procedures presented by service officers, particularly in terms of providing information on all types of services to the community. Furthermore, certain costs must be incurred by business operators due to incomplete submitted files, which result in further delays in processing. Additionally, the extended processing time (ranging from 7 to 30 days) for licensing services by officers can lead to additional costs borne by society.

Analysis of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Impact Study on Local Cultural Wisdom: A Case Study at PT Bukit Asam Tanjungenim, South Sumatera, Indonesia

The implementation of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in Indonesia is increasingly being implemented, including in the mining sector. PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) as one of the largest coal mining companies in Indonesia has implemented ESG in its operations. This research aims to analyze the impact of PTBA's ESG implementation on local cultural wisdom in the Tanjungenim area, South Sumatera. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews with key informants, participant observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The research results show that PTBA's ESG implementation has both positive and negative impacts on local cultural wisdom. The positive impacts include: (1) increasing public awareness about the importance of protecting the environment; (2) increasing community participation in decision making related to the environment; (3) improving the quality of life of the community through community empowerment programs. The negative impacts include: (1) changes in local cultural values due to external cultural influences; (2) the occurrence of social conflict between indigenous communities and companies; (3) loss of local traditions and culture due to modernization. In conclusion, PTBA's ESG implementation has positive and negative impacts on local cultural wisdom. Efforts need to be made to maximize the positive impacts and minimize the negative impacts.
