BACKGROUND: The high incidence of cerebral palsy, the chronic course with predominance of motor disorders in the clinical picture of the disease determine the introduction of robotic therapy in rehabilitation and the relevance of studying its effectiveness. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the effectiveness of using the Walkbot robotic complex (Walkbot, Korea) in children with cerebral palsy. METHODS: The study included 35 patients with cerebral palsy who received rehabilitation therapy courses at the "City Children's Polyclinic No. 7". A comparative analysis of the functional motor outcomes of the disease was performed for children in two groups, the first of which received locomotor therapy on a Walkbot device, while the second group was not prescribed the complex. RESULTS: The effectiveness of using the Walkbot robotic complex on functional motor outcomes in patients with cerebral palsy was evaluated. In the group that received locomotor therapy, there was a better dynamic in the level of development of motor skills according to the GMFM-66 scale, by 6.8% in children of the first group and 4.1% in children of the second group (p=0.006) and locomotor function according to the Hauser index (p=0.05), which increased the level of independence in everyday life according to the FIM scale (p=0.044), compared to the data of children in the control group. At the same time, the number of procedures and thus the total number of rehabilitation courses were important for the realisation of the effect. CONCLUSIONS: Children with cerebral palsy who received complex robotic therapy on a Walkbot device were found to have better motor outcomes, especially in locomotor function.
