This research aims to investigate the factors that influence the effectiveness of Information Systems (IS) Governance in Higher Education Institutions (IPT) using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The background of this research reflects the importance of IS in supporting operations, management and decision making in a higher education environment that is increasingly complex and dependent on technology.The PLS-SEM method analyzes the relationship between key variables that influence the effectiveness of IS governance at IPT. It is a powerful multivariate statistical approach that allows factor analysis and regression in a single framework, allowing researchers to holistically understand how factors relate to each other. The results of this research will likely provide valuable insight for decision-makers at IPT in improving IS management and utilization. Practical implications include the development of more effective policies, better management strategies, and improved IS infrastructure. In addition, this research is also expected to provide an essential contribution to academic literature in understanding the factors that influence the effectiveness of IS governance in the higher education context. By better understanding the factors that influence the effectiveness of IS governance, IPT can increase its competitiveness, improve the quality of educational services, and support the achievement of its strategic goals. This research is expected to significantly contribute to understanding how IS governance can be implemented and managed more effectively in higher education environments through the PLS-SEM approach.

An Overview of Information Systems and Process Automation in Peruvian Microenterprises

The purpose of this research is to review the literature on the importance of Information Systems (IS) and process automation in Peruvian microenterprises, and how they can improve their efficiency and complexity in the market. The activities addressed were related to identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and proposing alternative solutions for the implementation of information systems and process automation in Peruvian microenterprises. The methodology used was PRISMA. Inclusion criteria were established considering relevance, contribution, time of publication, and studies related to the topic. The study demonstrates the existence of a lack of information systems implementation process in Peruvian microenterprises. The reasons are centered on limited economic resources, a poor purchasing power, the lack of knowledge about the benefits of technologies and the unstable perception of the contribution of information systems.

Supplier Evaluation at Small-Medium Enterprise Using Simple Additive Weighting

This study focuses on the importance of information systems in today's intensely competitive business landscape. Companies of all sizes rely on information systems to stay afloat, streamline operations, and make informed decisions based on accurate data. To remain competitive, a medium-sized company specializing in vending motorcycle accessories and spare parts faced various challenges, including determining the best supplier for each item. To address this issue, a decision support system was developed using the Simple Additive Weighting technique. This method calculates the weighted sum of performance evaluations for each option based on all qualities. The system underwent user acceptance testing and achieved a flawless success rate of 100%. Overall, this study highlights the crucial role of decision support systems in enabling businesses to make strategic decisions based on accurate and reliable data.

BUSINESS PROCESS REENGINEERING SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BASED BLOCKCHAIN USING BPR LC

The agricultural sector in Indonesia is a superior sector compared to other sectors. The red onion commodity in Indonesia has the highest household consumption rate. Nowadays, technological developments are widely used to support existing agriculture to get maximum results. One of the technologies that can be used in agriculture is blockchain. The application of blockchain has gained importance in information systems and information technology research in the agricultural sector. However, in Indonesia, precisely in Central Java, there is no red onion supply chain management that uses blockchain technology for data storage, data security and data transparency. The author has a goal to re-engineer to overcome these problems by implementing blockchain technology using the Hyperledger Fabric and modeling business processes with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). This research uses the Business Process Re-Engineering Life Cycle method in which this research produces red onion supply chain management with a new business process that is described by Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and produces blockchain applications with various features and testing has been carried out using the Black box testing method with the result that existing features can run well without problems and the web application is running according to user needs to support supply chain management deficiencies so that they become more optimal and transparent in data storage.

Optimisation of the measurement and evaluation process through an information system

This paper deals with the digitalisation of production documentation and optimisation of measurement and evaluation processes through the DRM information system, its functionality and use The business environment is constantly changing, shaping and adapting to market requirements. Advancing the presentation of IS certifications: theory-driven guidelines for designing peripheral cues to increase users’ trust perceptions

ABSTRACT Whereas the importance of information system (IS) certifications is increasing to prove compliance with regulatory and industry requirements, research reveals inconsistent findings concerning the effectiveness of IS certifications. Prior studies have concluded that such inconsistent findings stem partly from users’ limited understanding of the nature and role of certifications due to ineffective certification presentations. We follow a three-phase, theory-driven design science approach to examine how to design effective certification presentations. First, we identified sources of users’ limited understanding and formulated a revised certification presentation that facilitates users’ peripheral information processing. We tested our design proposal in an online experiment with 300 participants. Second, we derived meta-requirements and design guidelines by validating a theory-driven model of certification presentations through an online survey with 352 participants. Third, we implemented three certification presentations complying with example guidelines and ran an online experiment with 400 participants to test whether these presentations are effective. We contribute to research and practice by proposing a design theory for certification presentations composed of peripheral cues inducing authority, social proof and likeability to increase users’ trust perceptions.

Factors Affecting Dynamic Strategic Alignment in a Changing Environment: A Case Study of a Chinese SOE

Abstract Environmental factors significantly affect the dynamic strategic alignment of information systems (IS) in coping with a rapidly changing environment, especially for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in emerging economies. By examining the case study of a medium-sized Chinese state-owned real estate company, this research aims to investigate what environmental factors affect SOEs’ strategic alignment. The thematic analysis method was used to analyse semi-structured interviews with staffs at all levels of the organisation and relevant strategy documents. The research develops a holistic model to illustrate the influencing factors from SOEs’ internal (i.e., organisational structure, culture and resources) and external environments (i.e., politics, economy, technology and national culture) while highlighting the overall influences from the nature of SOEs. It identifies that organisational resources, whose easy access is enabled by SOEs’ state-owned character, significantly reduce the need for strategic alignment to gain competitive advantage in the short term. In addition, SOEs’ inherent attributes of organisational structure and culture impede the social and structural integration between business and IT. Managerial implications are suggested with a particular emphasis on internal factors, such as developing IS/IT from organisational resources and cultivating the perception of the importance of IS. The paper also points to the importance of implementing government authorities’ policies and instructions about IS strategy.

PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF APPLICATION OF CRM-SYSTEMS IN ACTIVITIES OF TOURIST ENTERPRISES

The role and importance of information systems, in particular CRM, in the conditions of macroeconomic instability and digitalization of the economy are considered. The peculiarities of CRM-systems application in tourism activity are determined, which create preconditions for corporate software for marketing, sales, customer service, content management and operations, allow timely notification of customers, offer the most favorable conditions and control all business processes of tourism. It is proved that CRM is a special approach to the tourism business, in which the first priority of the company is the customer and meet his needs. The main tasks that allow tourism companies to solve using CRM, in particular the formation of customer base, automation of business processes, improving the efficiency of personnel management, sales management and the formation of analytics. The main marketing tasks that CRMs solve with the help of CRM are identified, their content is determined and it depends on the benefits that the tourism business and customers receive. It is determined that the main indicators of CRM-system efficiency include: stability of appeals and resale; sales performance; profitability of transactions; number of sales, revenue; percentage of customer retention; costs associated with sales and advertising campaigns; efficiency of interaction with clients; consumer commitment to the brand. The practice of application of CRM-systems by tourist enterprises is considered on a concrete example. The necessity of using CRM-systems by tourist enterprises is substantiated. It has been proven that CRM is a relevant platform for all business units, used to build effective interaction of enterprises with their customers and meet all their needs. These systems create real preconditions for the application of customer-oriented approach by tourism enterprises, contribute to the formation of their stable long-term position in the market.

Information System Management in Health Institutions of Kosovo: Case Study

Introduction: The main point in this paper is dedicated to the role and importance of the information system in public institutions with emphasis on health system: system preparation, establishment, implementation, and its application.Objective: The aim of this study is to increase the awareness and importance of health information system in health institutions and management and, to present a concept model of health information system to health institutions in Kosovo. Results: Presented Health Information System model shows the benefits and the role if implemented. The main aspects this concept takes in consideration is overall network, strategic flexibility and cost-reducing. Conclusion: This study highlights the benefits possible when new electronic health information system is fully integrated in health system of Kosovo. This case study illustrates the importance of developing new health information system that meets the actual challenges of health system, improve the system quality, usage and care quality.

E-Business Strategy for Logistics Companies: Achieving Success through Information Systems Planning

Background: E-business and Information Technology (IT) are critical components in the improvement of logistics functions. As logistics contributes to the entire strategic planning of a firm, e-business and IT applications support the implementation of strategic planning in a more efficient and effective manner. According to this view, previous scholars have ignored the importance of Information Systems (IS) planning in the selection and implementation of appropriate IS as per situation. This paper explores the Information Systems Planning (ISP) phases that influence the success of the process. Methods: Data were collected and analyzed using Regression Analysis by 73 IT managers for Greek Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the logistics sector. Results: The outcomes of the analysis show that executives ought to be informed about the strategic utilization of IS planning in order to improve competitive advantage. Furthermore, managers must also select the suitable IT facilities to align business strategy with the business structure. Conclusions: The outcomes support managers to focus on logistics functions and realize the importance of such ISP in logistics. As a result, selecting appropriate IS leads to increased competitive advantage, faster communication, support for the storage and retrieval of more accurate data, cost reduction and increased customer value.

Purpose: One of the purposes of this study is the perceptions of information technologies and the motivation of the employees; analysis of the effects of demographic variables, and the other goal is to examine the effects of perceptions of information technologies on the motivation of employees. Information technologies (IT) consist of elements such as networking, hardware and software that have been used during the design and development of systems established in order to further manage the information obtained. With the knowledge age, many new technologies have been developed, but social and economic changes have also occurred. Businesses that can get information quickly among competing businesses and can use the information they have obtained in the most effective way can gain more competitive advantage and increase the motivation of their employees. Design/methodology/approach – While preparing the theoretical part of the study, articles, books, internet, etc. related to the field. Secondary sources such as. In the research part, research data were obtained with quantitative techniques and questionnaire applications that could reveal cause-effect relationships. At the same time, with the help of SPSS statistical programs, with the help of many statistical techniques such as reliability, anova and regression analysis; The hypotheses formed for the purposes of the research were examined. The population of the research was 1184 people working in the businesses in the consultancy center in Ankara OSTIM and 449 people were the sample. Influence of Information System Factors to Operational Performance Sustainability of UAE Manufacturing Sector

This paper presents an assessment of information system factors that influence the operational performance sustainability of UAE manufacturing sector. The study was conducted using quantitative approach where data was collected through the questionnaire survey and analysed statistically. A total of 41 factors of information system extracted from literature review and clustered into 4 domains namely transaction processing system; operation information system; decision support system and financial manager's workbench. The survey distributed 250 questionnaires among operations staff of UAE manufacturing industries. However, only 200 datasets were considered valid for further analysis. Ranking of factors were conducted using mean score and standard deviation. The results found that the most influential domain is decision support system having mean value of 4.19. The findings from this study give an indicator on the importance of information system toward the sustainable operational performance of the UAE manufacturing sector

Legal Framework of the Unified Information System Functioning in State and Municipal Procurement

Currently, in the context of information technologies development and the transition to the digital technologies application in the economy and public administration, the importance of information systems, including state information systems, is increasing. In the field of state and municipal procurement, an information infrastructure has been created, the main component of which is the state unified information system (UIS), which has significant features compared to other state information systems, the effective functioning of which is of great importance to ensure the entire procurement process. The purpose of the paper is to determine the legal nature and functions of the UIS, to study the features of interaction with other information systems and the prospects for its development in the context of the digital technologies application. This goal assumes the solution of the following tasks: analysis of regulatory legal acts that establish the rules for the functioning of the UIS; determination of common features of the UIS with other state information systems and its distinctive features; study of forms of interaction of information systems with the UIS; analysis of the effectiveness of the organization of electronic document management by means of UIS; development of proposals for improving the rules for the UIS functioning.As a result of the study, it was concluded that the implementation of civil rights and obligations in the field of state and municipal procurement is carried out through the EIS; the features of the EIS as a multifunctional state information system are determined and a conclusion is made about its uniqueness; suggestions were made on the application of measures to improve the functioning of the ENI, and the use of digital technologies in the field of procurement.

The concept of the new information system of electronic services in the field of land and property relations

The article describes the concept of a new geographic information system for the provision of electronic state and municipal services. The problem of the lack of an open portal in the Internet for choosing unencumbered and suitable for use for the intended purpose land plots is considered. The importance of information systems in the development of the digital economy and information society in the Russian Federation is shown. The analysis of existing geographic information systems is given in a generalized and systematic way. As a result, it was found that the main drawback of the existing systems is the limitation of a certain territory and a set of services. It is concluded that it is necessary to display the free land. Automatic notifications should be sent to the competent authorities. The new information system should have direct and feedback links with all information and geographic information systems in operation and being developed in Russia. The results and conclusions are applicable to the creation of new geographic information systems.

Construção e validação de um Instrumento de Avaliação dos Fatores Críticos em Projetos de Desenvolvimento de Software.

Nowadays a huge number of enterprises make use of Information Systems (IS) in several areas. Since the software is one of the most important IS component it needs to be available and trustful. Lots of effort is invested to study critical factors that affects software development projects results. Survey research is the common technique to obtain the relationship between the variables considered inside the sample. Before the use the surveys must be validated, i.e., if it can measure the right things. This paper shows the steps to validate a survey to be answered by software development professionals. The methodological path is composed by the following steps: literature review, mapping of critical factor in software development, creation of a test survey, application of a initial test, refine and apply the survey, analysis the results throughout statistical methods, concluding the paper with the presentation and analysis of the critical factors found.
