LIQUID NEURAL NETWORKS: PRINCIPLE OF WORK AND AREAS OF APPLICATION

The article deals with the architecture of liquid neural networks (LNN) and their potential in modern technologies. Thanks to the constant development of algorithms and hardware, neural networks are becoming more and more powerful and efficient, which opens up new opportunities for their application. The authors describe the principle of operation of liquid neural networks, which includes the process of learning and inference, which allows effective use of the natural dynamics of the system to solve various tasks, including classification, prediction, and control. We note that the concept of LNNs arose as an attempt to overcome some of the limitations and problems faced by traditional neural networks. The study considers the basic concepts and principles of LNNs and their application potential in various fields, from robotics to medicine and industry. The study also determines the main advantages and disadvantages of LNNs compared to traditional models. It is possible to use them to process a large stream of data, such as video, audio, or sensory data from various sensor types, allowing robots to receive information about their environment and make decisions based on that data. In medical diagnostics and image processing, liquid neural networks can significantly contribute to the quality and efficiency of diagnostic procedures. LNNs can enable the implementation of automatic control systems that monitor and regulate parameters of production processes or adapt to changes in the environment and optimise parameters to achieve maximum productivity and product quality. The field of LNN lacks standards and is limited to using performance metrics. Establishing standards and objective metrics will allow researchers and engineers to understand and compare different LNN implementations. Although LNNs are relatively efficient in terms of power consumption, their implementation at the hardware level may require new technologies and architectures to optimise performance. As a result, the study outlines the prospects for the further development of this technology. Approach in development and implementation of automatic control system in a smart building

The research shows an approach to develop and implement a control system in an observed building. For this purpose, two approaches with simulation results are presented. The first approach is theoretical in nature, with derived equations of a mathematical model. These models are presented in the program ©MATLAB Simulink with the results of temperature change simulations. The second experimental approach is the implementation of a real remote-control system developed with the ©Siemens TIA Portal software tool. It is based on derived system components from the mathematical model. The user interfaces of the system were created using the ©WinCC program. All this was done using the example of a family house with three residential units. The system was developed with the purpose of reducing the needs of thermal energy compared to the existing system. By measuring the heat energy needs, it was found that the new remote-control system reduces the heat energy needs by 12.4 % within one calendar year compared to the existing control system. The reason for this is the implementation of several operating modes in the system: night operation mode, working operation mode and rest operation mode. The system is implemented in such a way that the user can monitor and control the air temperature in the observed room from anywhere and at any time by using a cell phone, computer and Internet connection. It is possible that all housing units in the observed facility are controlled separately. The electric valves of the radiators are controlled by proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controllers. During the automatic adjustment of the PID controller parameters, the values were calculated: proportionality gain constant K = 1.26214 and gain constant of the integration part KI = 7.01238.

Design and Implementation of Automatic Control System for Intelligent Water Dispenser

In this paper, an intelligent water dispenser automatic control system is designed by using a microcontroller as the core. Relevant signals are collected through temperature sensor, liquid level sensor and other sensors, then send them to the microcontroller for processing and control, and use the liquid crystal display for display. Temperature, effluent and liquid level can be controlled according to their own needs, so as to realize the intelligent control of the water dispenser. The intelligent water dispenser automatic control system designed in this paper has low hardware cost and easy operation in the use process.

The article deals with the experience of VTI obtained in the creation of automatic control systems of various technological units considered, including unique and experimental ones. Examples of the development and implementation of automatic control systems of the stand for the study of filters for flue gas purification systems of thermal power plants and the OMTI turbine oil purification unit based on technical means with microprocessor controllers OWEN are given. The main solutions and approaches for creating these systems are presented.

PID Controller Design for Dynamic Motion of an Aircraft

The development and implementation of automatic control systems have helped the aviation industry to grow in more efficient manner in terms of stability and performance of the Aircraft. But as improvement is the key for progress of technology the development and advancement in automatic control systems have also increased. In this paper, the performance of the Proportional- Integral- Derivative (PID) controller is studied for General Navion Aircraft by considering its longitudinal motion. The design is implemented using Model based Programming of MATLAB.. The reference input is the elevator deflection angle and the output is the Pitch angle. The gain values of the Controller is tuned using the PID toolkit. Simulation results shows that the design specifications in time domain and convergence to the design considerations.

The paper considers the necessity of implementation of automatic control systems on the level of forest farms management and timber industry. Main areas of activity, which currently subjected to automation, are revealed. Objectives, which solved by implementation of APCS, are identified.

Kinematics of mini hydraulic backhoe excavator - part II

An excavator is a typical hydraulic heavy-duty construction machine used in hazardous, worst working conditions, severe weather, and dirty areas where it is very difficult to operate machine by human operator. The excavator operations require coordinated movement of boom, arm and bucket in order to control the bucket tip position to follow a desired trajectory. This can be achieved through the implementation of automatic control system for excavation task and it required understanding of kinematics of backhoe excavator. This paper focuses on the mathematical kinematic modelling of the backhoe excavator attachment to understand relations between the position and orientation of the bucket and spatial positions of joint-links, helpful for improving the operating performance of the backhoe excavation machine. This paper covers the inverse kinematics, differential motions, inverse Jacobian, and static model of backhoe excavator. The kinematic model developed for autonomous excavation of light duty construction work can be applied for heavy duty or all types of backhoe excavators.

Automation and Instrumentation: A Compendium of Articles on Distribution System Instrumentation

Because of the increasing complexity of water distribution systems, automated control is becoming a necessity rather than a luxury. System automation can be a more economical and accurate means of control that performs such functions as responding immediately to fluctuations in demand and pressure, closely monitoring isolated stations without time‐consuming and costly field inspections, and notifying operators of problems as they occur. A review of the literature that describes the design and implementation of automatic control systems has been compiled by the AWWA Distribution Division Committee on Automation and Instrumentation to aid water supply personnel in determining the optimal selection and application of such systems. Two lists of abstracts that reference practical and theoretical applications of automation systems are provided. The review primarily covers the period beginning 1964 through the present, but a few pertinent articles prior to that date are included.Appreciation is extended by the Committee to all the AWWA sections, section Secretaries, and those who cooperated in providing pertinent publications material.
