Implementation of Agile Methods in GIS Web Applications for Land Suitability Selection

Perusahaan Daerah Perkebunan (PDP) Kahyangan is a Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) in Jember Regency which was formed in order to manage plantation commodities in 3 Main Plantations and two Subdivision Plantations. PDP’s profit contribution to Jember’s PAD (Pendapatan Asli Daerah) has continued to decline in recent years. With a target of PAD from plantation products in 2020 of 20 million rupiah, only 20% can be realized (4 million rupiah). Based on the 2023 PDP Kahyangan Jember Strategic Plan, one of the problems causing the opinion deficit is external factors. One of them is the suitability between the potential of the plants planted and the land conditions in a plantation area. Where land suitability, which is the carrying capacity of the land, has a significant effect on crop production. Based on the problems that have been presented, it is necessary to design a GIS-based Decision Support System (DSS), which can provide insight to researchers, practitioners and policy makers regarding the success of managing GIS data for the land suitability evaluation process so that it can increase agricultural productivity. Several stages that will be carried out include data collection, data preparation, and data processing carried out in GIS, then continued with implementation of Decision Support System. The used of agile methods to the application development process ensures that the application is built in a shorter time through the use of continuous iteration and testing thereby ensuring that the DSS implementation on the Web GIS application can run optimally.

Learning in the transformation of organizations with the implementation of agile methods

Objective: This article aims to understand the influence of organizational learning on adaptation during the implementation of agile methods in the project management environment in companies. The study focuses on changing project management processes from the traditional “waterfall” to agile management models to meet the needs of organizations. It aims to identify how the organization based on traditional project management migrates to a new process, adapting the new agile methodology to its day-to-day activities. Design/methodology/approach: We carried out a systematic literature review, answering the question: How does organizational learning influence the adaptation of agile methods? Results: We grouped the articles into five fields of research: Agile Learning; Organizational Learning in the implementation of Lean and Scrum methodologies: Implementation of Lean and Scrum methodologies; Learning of the individual in the organization and Organizational Learning. Originality/Value: This article seeks interests in the potential of applying agile projects and the organizational learning acquired from this new model.

Using a web-based information system application can make it easier if you want to open it in various browsers or devices such as gadgets and can be used anywhere and anytime. The use of methods in this research starts from the type of data used is primary data or single data that researchers get through interviews, direct observations, and literature studies, while in the use of the system design method using agile methods and the implementation in this research uses PHP language for website development and for the database itself using databases MySQL. A Framework on the Use of Agile Methods in Logistics Startups

Background: The logistics industry has seen the emergence of many startups in recent years. Many of these logistics startups use new technologies to develop disruptive products, services or platforms that are based on software. This paper presents the results of a Delphi study and a survey that were consolidated in a framework. The purpose is to understand the benefits that logistics startups derive from using agile methods, the difficulties they face in using these methods and the evolution of logistics startups in terms of using agile methods. Methods: A Delphi study with 29 experts and a global survey with 95 participants was conducted to look at the implementation of agile methods. The largest group of participants were members of (top) management, agile coaches and team leaders. Results: The framework consolidates gathered data to demonstrate how logistics startups apply agile methods and practices based on the results of the Delphi study and the survey, and how the usage of agile methods changes over the age of logistics startups. The results indicate that younger logistics startups use agile methods predominantly to design product features and maximise customer value, whereas logistics startups older than five years focus more on the optimisation of internal processes. Conclusions: The value of the present study lies in its contribution to the hitherto hardly examined research field of agility in logistics startups and the notable views of the experienced participants.

Implementasi Metode Agile pada Sistem Manajemen Zakat Berbasis Website dengan Framework Laravel

The implementation of paying zakat is obligatory for every Muslim. Generally, there are problems that are lacking in the recording of zakat management. Currently, many still use the manual method which is of course very risky for loss and damage to the recording of zakat. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a website that facilitates the payment and recording of zakat. With this research, it is expected to ease the mosque management to manage zakat to be more efficient. In this study applying the Agile SDLC model, this study has four stages, namely, timebox planning, iteration, demonstration, and retrospective meeting. Based on the research that has been done, namely the Implementation of Agile Methods on a Website-Based Zakat Management System with the Laravel Framework at the Al-Ijabah Mosque Amil Zakat Agency, the researcher concludes that the system built has met the administrative needs to input data such as Muzakki data (zakat givers). , Mustahiq data (zakat recipients), daily transaction reports. With the construction of this system, zakat transaction data can be stored in the database. So that zakat transaction data is not easily lost/damaged.

Gestão ágil de projetos sob a perspectiva das capacidades dinâmicas

Abstract: There is a growing academic and industrial interest in how firms can adopt agile project management to meet the demands of dynamically fast-moving environments. However, organizations face difficulties using agile methods in developing a physical product, like the companies found in the automotive industry. This article aims to study agile project management from the perspective of dynamic capabilities. It presents a strengthened analysis of the adoption of agile methods needed for developing physical products in the automotive industry. To address this issue, we formulated the following research question: “what are the dynamic capabilities associated with the agile project management of product development in the automotive sector?”. The article presents a case study of a multinational organization in the automotive sector that implemented concepts and practices of agile methods in the project management of new vehicles. Results evidenced the manifestation of dynamic capabilities in the organization's agile project management scope at sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring levels. Furthermore, findings showed the presence of agile methods in the projects and their implications for the organization regarding benefits (like communication, time, effectiveness, autonomy, and motivation gains) and challenges (like resistance to organizational changes). Finally, we propose a framework for analyzing relationships between dynamic capabilities’ microfoundations and agile project management practices to guide the choice and implementation of agile methods in the automotive sector.

Integration of agile practices in the product development process of intelligent technical systems

Companies face a variety of challenges in the product development of intelligent technical systems. On the one hand, companies have to manage a high level of product complexity and have to ensure efficient interdisciplinary cooperation. On the other hand, they must shorten the duration of the product development process and react quickly to changing requirements. Agile methods are a promising approach for these challenges. For example, agile methods shorten the duration of product development by eliminating a detailed initial planning. Furthermore, they enable a high degree of flexibility by using short iterations with quick feedback. Moreover, they ensure an optimally interdisciplinary collaboration by establishing development teams with experts from various specialized disciplines. Agile methods primarily focus on software development. However, intelligent technical systems consist of software components as well as hardware components. Therefore, the implementation of agile methods into the product development process is not trivial. For example, quick prototyping and active involvement of the customer within the development process is hard to realize for physical products. Therefore, the measuring of benefit potentials of agile methods and the tailored integration in the product development of intelligent technical systems is highly important. However, the mentioned challenges are barely addressed within current approaches. In order to adress these challenges, this paper presents an agile toolbox and a corresponding procedure model to integrate agile practices in the product development process of intelligent technical systems. First, the agile toolbox is developed by identifying individual practices of agile methods (e.g. iterative planning). Second, the presented procedure model enables the identification of company-specific requirements and the elaboration of a hybrid product development process based on the practices of the agile toolbox. The approach is validated by presenting an example from industrial practice.
