Analyze how it influences or not imparted professional training in teacher member of the Academy of Science in Computing ITSSP the quality of the classes taught at the higher level, knowing and understanding their effectiveness and achievements in the future. Contribution: This document represents the work of months of theoretical and field research in order to clarify and establish the basis of the impact of professional development in educational quality at the top level. This was held at the Superior Institute of Technology of Santiago Papasquiaro with Academy teachers in Computer Science, basing the area of study on students of Engineering in Computer Systems at this institute. The research has its basis in the need for training and constant updating in the professional area, ie in the area of specialty each teacher must master in order to teach their classes to future engineers who are in ITSSP classrooms. Before the question “How does the training and retraining of teachers of the ITSSP Academy of Computer Science effect the quality of classes taught in higher education?” was formulated, and this research was conducted, searching for an answer.

The Impact of Vocational Training on Labor Market Outcomes in the Philippines

The paper analyzes the labor market outcomes of graduates of post-secondary technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the Philippines. Based on human capital theory, our guiding assumption is that investment in education is rewarded through higher wages and a greater likelihood of being employed. Using household data for 2015–2016, the results show significantly higher wages for TVET graduates relative to those who entered the job market with a secondary school education or below. However, individuals who both trained in TVET and pursued tertiary (university) education tend to have a lower wage than those with secondary school education or below. This counterintuitive result is explained by the tendency for such dual-level individuals to complete the lowest level of TVET. Another result is that TVET graduates are more likely to be employed than both those who only studied at secondary school or below and those who studied at the tertiary level. The results are generated from a linear regression model that corrects for sample selection into employment and from the use of propensity score matching which addresses selection into TVET.

Impact of Vocational Training on Economic Empowerment of Youth in Rural Areas of Punjab

The current study was conducted to evaluate the role of Punjab Vocational Council in promoting empowerment of youth in rural areas of District Bhakkar. It was a case study of vocational training institutes working under Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). Out of 06 vocational training institutes of District Bhakkar, 03 institutes were selected as sample, 180 pass-out trainees were selected from these institutions by using stratified random sampling method. It was a quantitative research, hence survey method was used to gather information from the respondents. Study findings clearly demonstrated that vocational training plays a vital role in improving economic status of youth and has not only increased their income, but has also increased their food, education and health expenditures as well. Study indicated that majority of respondents were involved in income generating activities and were able to add in their monthly family income. Chi-square tests confirmed that vocational training had a significant impact in enhancing economic conditions of youth in rural areas.

The object of this research is the vocational training of older workers. The purpose is to analyze the impact of vocational training on older workers’ employment. The research methods are theoretical, general scientific and empirical methods; diagnostic, statistical methods, etc. Theoretical and practical results are the following: the vocational training of older workers is an important factor in their employment. The low coverage of older workers participating in vocational training can be overcome by popularizing vocational training as a tool for career development, prolonging their participation in the labor market and adapting them to the labor market.

Vocational training in India: determinants of participation and effect on wages

BackgroundIndia is at the cusp of a population change and is currently undergoing the phase of ‘demographic dividend.’ This has thrown a challenge towards the policymakers to ensure that there are enough employment opportunities for the ever-increasing labour force. One of the areas where improvement is urgently required in India is skill development. This paper attempts to identify the factors, which affect an individual’s participation in vocational training using nationally representative National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) data. Further, we investigate the impact of vocational training on the wages of an individual at overall and sectoral levels.MethodsFor addressing the first question of factors that are associated with participation in vocational training programmes, we will be applying logit and multi-nominal logit models. The explanatory variables will broadly be social and economic indicators of the individual as well as the individual’s household characteristics. The second issue of identifying the effect formal vocational training on wages will be analysed through a multiple regression model.ResultsWe found that being an urban dweller increases the odds of participating in formal vocational training. Further, being male increases the odds of receiving formal vocational training. We found that having formal training increases the wage by 4.7% in the overall economy as compared to a person without any training. The effect is highest in the primary sector, where the individuals with vocational training had a wage increase of 36.9%. Workers with formal vocational training in the secondary sector had an increase in wages by 17.6%.ConclusionsThe analysis done in the paper reveals that formal vocational training is associated with higher wages with the effect being the highest in the primary sector. Being male and urban dweller improved the odds of participating in formal vocational training. The model suggests that there exist good economic returns, which are associated with formal vocational training, and hence, it makes sense to invest resources in vocational training.

O impacto da formação profissional ofertada, por meio do programa Pronatec, para a ocupação de vagas de postos formais de trabalho, entre 2011 e 2015

Entre os anos de 2011 e 2015, o Pronatec mobilizou cerca de 9,4 milhões de matrículas e mais de 13 bilhões de reais, o que caracterizou o programa como a Política Pública de Educação Profissional de maior grandiosidade, considerando, além dos números citados, os subprogramas por ele abarcados e os ministérios e secretarias mobilizados. Entretanto, embora seu saldo apresente números vultosos, pouco foi o impacto da formação profissional ofertada, por meio do Pronatec, para a ocupação de vagas de postos formais de trabalho no mesmo período. O estudo analisou as vagas disponíveis na Agência do Trabalhador, no município de Cascavel, estado do Paraná, e as entrelaçou com as ofertas dos cursos do Pronatec na mesma região. Essa análise constatou que, embora mais de sete mil profissionais tenham sido capacitados no referido município, não houve queda no número de vagas em aberto na Agência do Trabalhador.

What Money Can Buy: Perceived Economic Security in China

ABSTRACTMany studies emphasize the authoritarian bargain to explain why authoritarian regimes develop social welfare in the absence of democratic accountability. Increased welfare support enhances economic security and, in turn, strengthens public support for the regime. However, few studies have empirically demonstrated the core part of the underlying mechanism that welfare support leads to reduced economic insecurity in non-democratic regimes. By analyzing survey data from China, this study examines how labor market programs affect public economic insecurity. The results reveal that vocational training has a U-shaped impact on risk perception. It alleviates perceived insecurity when the unemployment rate is at the low or high end and has negligible effects at the medium level of unemployment rates. Furthermore, the impact of vocational training is particularly strong for individuals with higher incomes, urban hukou, and public sector employment. In contrast, regardless of the unemployment rate, unemployment insurance has a negative effect on risk perception overall. The results show that the type of social policy and macro- as well as micro-level socio-economic attributes should be taken into account to understand the impact of social welfare.

The impact of vocational training on transition-aged adults

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the difference in attaining and maintaining employment between transition age youth (ages 19–22) with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBDs) completing and not completing vocational training.Design/methodology/approachA quantitative causal-comparative research design using existing data extracted from the National Longitudinal Transitional Study-2 (NLTS-2) via a restricted data use license issued by the National Center Special Education Research, Institution of Education Sciences, US Department of Education. One-way ANCOVA and multiple regression analysis with one independent variable and six control variables were used for the study.FindingsThe results showed there is a significant difference in employment status between transition age youth with EBDs completing vocational training as compared to non-completion of vocational training, controlling for gender, race, age, mental health services, academic achievement and prior work experience. Individuals who completed vocational training are more likely employed after two years, than those who had not completed vocational training.Originality/valueThe outcomes of the study showed that vocational training during the transitional period had a positive impact on outcomes such as employment status, participation in job skills programs and perceived preparedness for employment. These findings support the idea that vocational training during the secondary school period is an effective way to scaffold support for the transitional period. As a result, these findings justify the use of vocational training as part of the transitional preparation for students with emotional and behavioral disorders.

Research on “The situation of rural labors, the impact of vocational training, employment, and income of rural laborers in Vinh Long province” was conducted to find out: (1) The situation of labor, vocational training, employment and income, (2) The impact of vocational training, (3) Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of vocational training and employment, (4) Solution for improving the quality of vocational training, creating employment and enhancing income. The research was conducted through the group discussion and interview of 180 households. Descriptive statistics, cross tabulation, linear regression and SWOT matrix were used in the research. The research findings were concluded that (1) the labor was abundant, educational level was limited, the awareness of labor towards vocational training was good, the demand of vocational training has been increasing in Vinh Long province. However, the ability of co-operation between the organizations of vocational training, business and the trainees was still limited; (2) the factors affected to the household income such as the number of times participating in the vocational training, time training and the linkage after training; (3) the vocational training faced difficulties as lacking in equipment and the laborers did not have free time to participate in the vocational training courses.

Vocational Rehabilitation of Mild Mentally Challenged Adults

Vocational Rehabilitation is the part of continuous and coordinated process of rehabilitation which involves the guidance, vocational training and selective placement designed to enable a differently abled person to secure and retain suitable employment. The present study analyzes impact of vocational training in the competencies of mild mentally challenged adults. The sample for the study consists of 8 mild mentally challenged adults between the age of 18 -30 years. An individualized vocational curriculum is developed and the vocational training courses provided training in computer, stitching, embroidery, office assistance and identity card making. Pre test-post test design has been used in order to understand the influence of intervention. For this purpose Behavioral Assessment Scales for Adult Living – Mental Retardation (BASAL –MR) and Personal data sheet has been used. The results indicate that vocational training has great impact in developing competencies of mild mentally challenged.

Still a perfect model? The gender impact of vocational training in Germany

Reconstructing the parallel structure of ‘dual’ and ‘school-based’ vocational routes reveals the close connection between the German vocational training system and the segmentation of the labour market by gender. The example of jobs in childcare and pre-primary education shows that the legacy of semi-professionalism in these occupations is not just rooted in the nature of training and working conditions, but complexly interlinks with the prevalence of the male breadwinner model sustained by social policy regulations and the German taxation system. In France, by contrast, the central state takes responsibility for the provision of childcare from zero to six years of age to support female labour force participation and dual-earner couples. This has also fostered professionalisation in the respective occupations. Whilst this may not necessarily induce a degendering process at the level of horizontal segregation of vocational qualifications, it facilitates gender equality in terms of vertical mobility and the professional status of women.

The Impact of Vocational Training on the Unemployment Duration

In this study, we estimate a semiparametric hazard model to assess the impact of vocational training on the duration of unemployment spells. Our research work is based on the data obtained from the District Labor Office in Slupsk, Poland from 1999 to 2007. We employ matching methods to take into account the potential sample selection problem, i.e., finding an adequate control group for the group of trainees. Therefore, we estimate a random-effects probit model for the likelihood of participation in a training program. The main question of this paper is whether the training significantly raises the transition rate from unemployment to employment in the short and the long run.

Vocational Training and Career Employment Precariousness in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden

The skills, qualifications and credentials generated by educational systems are strongly related to labour market attainment. The centrality of the educational system for the structuring of individuals' life chances has generated a long-lived and intense debate around the proper design of educational systems. The purpose of this article is to examine whether vocational training provided within the educational system protects graduates against employment precariousness over the life course. The extent and character of vocational training are related here to the transition from school to work, the risk of unemployment once established on the labour market, and the likelihood of finding new employment if unemployed. The data used consist of life history data from Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden. The results suggest that the impact of vocational training on labour market precariousness changes over people's work career. Vocational training reduces precariousness during the transition from school to work, whereas there is no difference in the impact of general and vocational education on unemployment risk once established on the labour market. Instead, among those who do become unemployed there are indications that general education may be more beneficial.

Training in Germany: a view from abroad

Introduces the concept of non‐company‐based vocational training in Germany and assesses the impact of vocational training without work experience. Provides primary research results drawn from a representative survey of eastern German trainees in company and non‐company‐based training. Highlights the importance associated with real work experiences and critically examines the attempts by German labour market authorities to introduce apprenticeship training by providing a state‐funded alternative.

The Impact of Vocational Training on Speech Pathology Students

A survey of 35 final year speech pathology students showed that since entering the course their self concepts had become more androgynous and their career commitment had increased. Students were less likely to plan to leave the work force but many wanted part-time employment. Career status aspirations had not risen. More students had steady relationships and they continued to want large families. Students were very satisfied with their career choice and few wanted to change their occupation. However, many had had marked misperceptions of speech pathology when they commenced the course raising the question of the adequacy of the careers advice received. Career choice dissatisfaction was not related to misperception of career but was associated with change in self concept during the course.
