Habits’ Description of the Ideal Characters in Lao-Literature

n this research project, the researchers aimed to describe the habits of the Ideal Characters in Lao-Literature regarding their physical characteristics, personalities of characters. The instrument used for this study was a questionnaire which included 21 items to collect the information to describe the habits of ideal characters in Lao-literature towards on explanation, interpretation and evaluation. The results of this study revealed that there were 4 aspects on anatomical traits description - standing, walking, sitting, lying down or sitting. There were also 5 areas in the conceptual description - perseverance, overcoming obstacles, loyalty to family, nation and the generosity to family-society. The characters were seen to be good with manners, intelligent, good problem solving, patriotic, courageous, honest, doctrinal, united, ideological, far-sighted, genuine public and humble. In addition, the characters were kind, determine, high self-sacrificing, patient, loyal, gratitude and supportive for others.

DECODING PATRIARCHAL BIASES AT WORK IN COMICS: A STUDY OF THE CODIFICATION OF FEMININITY THROUGH THE IMAGE-TEXT COMBINE WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO POPULAR VERNACULAR COMICS NONTE FONTE AND HANDA BHONDA

Any image accompanies with it two concepts viz. communication and representation. Both these concepts are potent tools to be analysed from the perspective of study of signs or semiotics. But the monolithic study of signs or codes embedded in representation or communication curbs the scholarly or multidimensional spaces in which a representation/image representation can be analysed, examined or investigated. If we consider a pictorial representation only as an image choosen/preferred randomly, we will miss the ideological bias in which it is produced. Therefore image representation of women/ female in any text provides the ground for analyzing the term ‘politics of representation’ since no production is devoid of power structure that always invariably empowers a dominant one dictating /controlling the production, reception and dissemination of ‘texts’ (the term text to be comprehended in post-modern sense) thus creating possibilities of stereotyping, distortion, hegemonisation, homogenization, etal of women characters. Even under the tactful gloss of figuring ideal female characters of mythology or sculptures in temples,etc in different ancient Indian art forms, the patriarchal ideology of depicting women with perfect female body according to Indian aesthetics operates. The paper focuses on the production, reception, nonreception as a result of dominant market forces of comics on women or female representation in comic’s genre. It adopts research methodology of content (image –text representataion of women) analysis as case study; paradigmatic analysis with panels from Nonte Fonte and Handa Bhonda, two popular vernacular Bengali comics to investigate how does a change in an image can affect the reception; as well as excerpts from interview with target reader/viewer of comics/audio-visual projection of comics to examine decodification of female presence by a child as receiver of such texts; and inputs from the interview with the writer –illustrator of Nonte Fonte and Handa Bhonda , have been included to examine the codification and decodification process of image-text combination of comics.

Rational Design of HighPerformance M-N-C Single Atom Catalysts

High-performance electrocatalysts are required because the sluggish kinetics of Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR) at the cathode in either Fuel Cell (FC) or Metal-Air Battery (MAB). The current most effective ORR catalysts are noble Pt-group metals, whose high price and low abundance severely hamper the widespread application of FC and MAB. Dispersively non-noble transition metal coordinated with nitrogen atoms doped in carbon nanomaterials (M-N-C) Single Atom Catalysts (SACs) have been considered as the most promising catalysts for the ORR. Here, the effect of typical morphology on the activity and stability of SACs was discussed firstly. Moreover, the effect of metal type, coordination nitrogen number, heteroatom decoration on the central metal atom were discussed. Based on the rate determining step (RDS), we propose the ideal characters that high-performance SACs should possess.

SCRIBBLING WITH MALE EGO: ANALYSING THE MALE GAZE IN THE PORTRAYAL OF WOMEN IN CARTOONS

Male cartoonists dominated the cartoon industry of Keralam in the second half of the twentieth century. Women stereotypes are highlighted in the discourse of cartoons, probably like any other artform in the world. This paper is an attempt to analyse the representation of women folk in the cartoons of Keralam, during the post independent period of India. The cartoons of veteran male cartoonists namely Cartoonist Toms, Cartoonist Yesudasan and Cartoonist Thomas have been analysed for the study. The misrepresentation of women characters in their cartoons are analysed. The ‘domineering wife’ stereotype in the cartoons portraying the domestic setting and the household is not the fair representation of women of the time, given the patriarchal tradition. Women’s empowerment is shown mainly as their physical empowerment in the cartoon series. The male gaze in the commodification of female body in the cartoons is analysed. The male ego in the nurturing of ideal woman characters by the male cartoonists is problematized in the paper. The images used in this paper are collected from archives and the sources of images, as it is mentioned in the bibliography, are old collections of magazines, which are fifty years or more old. These cartoons are retrieved from the archives compiled at Appan Thampuran Smaraka Library in Thrissur, Kerala.

Introduction. The success and acceptance of the community towards The Librarian Season 1, comic indirectly show an interest in the librarian profession. Although the library and librarian described in the Librarian Season 1 are fictional settings, the values in the world of librarianship cannot be ignored. This study aims to examine the representation of librarians in The Librarian Season 1 comic.
 Research Methods. The method used was qualitative. Collecting data was conducted by document study by exploring the website? 
 Data Analysis. This paper used Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis focusing on the denotative, connotative, and myth levels.
 Results and Discussion. In the comic The Librarian Season 1, there are 13 episodes out of a total of 15 episodes that have librarian representation scenes based on ideal characters in the Basic Framework for Indonesian Librarianship (KDKI). 
 Conclusion and Suggestions. Miche is a representation of the ideal character of a librarian based on KDKI. Therefore, the paper suggests that comic artists are considered to reproduce story ideas about librarians in comics, content, or other pop culture products. Librarian representation in the comic The Librarian Season 1 can be an alternative educational media for both prospective librarians and public.

A Tree-Structure Analysis Network on Handwritten Chinese Character Error Correction

Existing researches on handwritten Chinese characters are mainly based on recognition network designed to solve the complex structure and numerous amount characteristics of Chinese characters. In this paper, we investigate Chinese characters from the perspective of error correction, which is to diagnose a handwritten character to be right or wrong and provide a feedback on error analysis. For this handwritten Chinese character error correction task, we define a benchmark by unifying both the evaluation metrics and data splits for the first time. Then we design a diagnosis system that includes decomposition, judgement and correction stages. Specifically, a novel tree-structure analysis network (TAN) is proposed to model a Chinese character as a tree layout. Using the predicted tree layout for judgement, if the character is wrongly written, correction operation is needed for error analysis. The correction stage mainly consists of three steps: fetch the ideal character, correct the errors and locate the errors. Computing the distance between the model output and all candidate characters can generate ideal characters. With the decomposition ability of TAN, edit distance computing between predicted tree and ideal tree can lead to correction operations. By using attention visualization, we can even provide the approximate error location. Through quantitative analysis, we prove that TAN captures more accurate spatial position information than regular encoder-decoder models. Additionally, we propose a novel bucketing mining strategy to apply triplet loss at radical level to alleviate feature dispersion. Experiments on handwritten character dataset demonstrate that our proposed TAN shows great superiority on all three metrics comparing with other state-of-the-art models.

Study of seed germination of Cordia dichotoma G. Forst. under laboratory condition

The seeds of Cordia dichotoma were collected from trees with the ideal phenotypical characters of good height, large crown and medium aged with abundant seed production. The fresh seeds were collected manually and the extracted seeds were cleaned and thoroughly hand mixed to improve the homogeneity during the sampling. The seeds based on their diameter were graded into three classes i.e. small (L1) (1.4 cm). The graded seeds were subjected to five different pre-sowing treatments for germination viz., Control (T1) (untreated seeds), Cold water treatment for 72 hours (T2), Cow dung treatment for 7 days (T3), Concentrated H2SO4 for 20 minutes followed by rinsing under running tap water (T4) and Hot water treatment (80 °C) followed by 24 hours soaking (T5). The graded and treated seeds were kept in seed germinator for four week. Watering and spray of fungicide was carried out manually when necessary. The effects of seed size and pre-sowing treatments on germination of seeds were explored periodically through counting the germinated seeds. The study revealed that seed parameters of the Cordia dichotoma were significantly influenced by seed size categories. The weight of 100 seeds was recorded maximum (209.22 g) in large size (L3) seed category which is significantly differed from L2 (medium) and L1 (small). However no significant difference has been observed among seed viability. The highest germination per cent (68.54%), germination capacity (74.08) and germination energy (41.47%) was recorded in concentrated H2SO4 for 20 minutes followed by rinsing under running tap water (T4) pre-sowing treatment while the lowest germination per cent (56.67%), germination capacity (64.08%) and germination energy minimum (30.75%) in T1(control). All treatments were significantly different from each other. On the other hand, among three seed category, large seed category (L3) was recorded maximum per cent germination (76.23%), germination capacity (83.56%) and germination energy (47.11%) while the minimum germination per cent (46.24%) germination capacity (54.46%) and germination energy (25.34%) was found in small seed category (L1). But all three seed size categories differed significantly from each other. Among the treatment combinations, germinability parameters were recorded maximum in T4L3 (concentrated H2SO4 for 20 minutes followed by rinsing under running tap water+ large seed category). The seed size and pre sowing treatments often controls the germination and initial seedling growth in many tree species. Pre-sowing treatment methods are employed for overcoming seed dormancy and are used not only to ensure the rapid germination but it also decreases labour, cost and time for nursery production.

Portret bohaterki lirycznego cyklu Дурнушка Siemiona Nadsona w świetle inspiracji literackich

The subject of research in this article is Semyon Nadson’s informal lyrical cycle Дурнушка. The research method is the classic analysis of poems. The aim of the work was to show the most important, in my opinion, sources of literary inspirations that influenced the formation of the image of the lyrical heroine of the cycle. Inspiration from the romantic tradition comes to the fore (including ideal female characters embodying physical and spiritual beauty, themes of loneliness, alienation, conflict with society, unrequited love). The great realistic Russian prose of the 19th century also left a clear mark, from which the writer drew themes of social injustice, beauty, suffering, the motif of an unhappy childhood, family, and the role of women in society. Nadson creatively used the types of literary heroes existing in Russian literature at that time, such as “Turgenev’s maidens”, “superfluous man” and representatives of the progressive youth of the 1860s. The socially engaged tradition of Nekrasov’s poetry was also close to him. Despite the variety of inspirations and literary influences affecting him, Nadson managed to retain the original element of his personality in his poetry, as well as the independence of poetic thought, which was expressed in questioning traditional aesthetic assumptions and attempts to interpret existing themes and motifs on his own.

REVIEW ON MUCOADHESIVE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS

This review considers the basic mechanisms by which mucoadhesive can adhere to a mucous membrane in terms of the nature of the adhering surfaces and the forces that may be generated to secure them together.it also include contact stage and consolidation stage. Mucosal adhesion is backed by several theories. Much attention has been focused in the field of mucoadhesive formulation developments compared to other delivery systems. Mucoadhesion while considering drug delivery is having several merits, because of the ideal physiochemical characters of the mucosal membrane. Ideally a mucoadhesive dosage form interacts with the mucosal membrane by ionic bonds, covalent bonds, Van-der-Waal bonds and hydrogen bonds. Various sites for mucoadhesive drug delivery system are ocular, nasal, buccal cavity; GIT, vaginal, rectal and several specific dosage forms have been reported. Factors affecting mucoadhesion are molecular weight, flexibility of polymer chain, pH, presence of carboxylate group and density. Several synthetic and natural polymers are identified as suitable candidates for mucoadhesive formulation. Ex-vivo/in-vitro studies utilizing gut sac of rats provides in-depth knowledge about the adhesive property of the dosage form as well as polymers. AFM can be used as a part of imaging methods. Mucoadhesive drug delivery system shows promising future in enhancing the bioavailability and specific needs by utilizing the physiochemical characters of both the dosage form and the mucosal lining. It has to be noted that only a moist surface can bring the mucoadhesive nature of the dosage form.

Exact double averages of twisted L-values

Consider central L-values of even weight elliptic or Hilbert modular forms f twisted by ideal class characters $$\chi $$ of an imaginary quadratic extension K. Fixing $$\chi $$ , and assuming K is inert at each prime dividing the level, one knows simple exact formulas for averages over newforms f of squarefree levels satisfying a parity condition on the number of prime factors. Two consequences are generalizations of the aforementioned stable (single) averages and effective results on nonvanishing of central L-values.

TRADISI NGANGGUNG DI PULAU BANGKA: SUATU ALTERNATIF DALAM PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL UNTUK PENGUATAN IDENTITAS MORAL

<em><span>The morality of today's society is being questioned, even actions that lead to immorality often occur. Many things trigger this condition, one of which is the proliferation of foreign cultures that are more tempting, and the acceptance of foreign cultures without a filter. Education in the present context, which should be a place for self-development, is considered less effective in building ideal characters for today's generation. The nganggung tradition as one of the cultural ceremonies on Bangka Island can be recommended as a medium to reaffirm the moral identity of the community, especially for the younger generation. The purpose of this paper is to further discuss the role of the Nganggung tradition as an effort to strengthen the moral identity of the community. The research method used is library research through several results of existing research studies. The results of the study of this paper are, that in the nganggung tradition there is a philosophical meaning that leads to the strengthening of national identity, as well as a form of preserving morality through all its processions. The conclusion is, that the Nganggung tradition can be an example of local culture to strengthen moral identity and be implemented through multicultural education.</span></em>

Morphology engineering of LiFeO2 nanostructures through synthesis controlling for electrochemical hydrogen storage inquiries

The nanostructures of LiFeO2 were fabricated by Pechini procedure using comparative fuels (EDTA, citric acid and tartaric acid) to select ideal morphology and structural characters. The pH (6, 8 and 12) for mixture medium is another parameter studied in terms of the effect on the structural characterization. Also, the calcination temperature was studied on the morphology of samples. The ideal product with rod shape was chosen to compare with the particle-shaped product through charge–discharge electrochemical hydrogen sorption capability. The calculated discharge capacity for rod-shaped LiFeO2 is 410 mAhg−1. However, the discharge capacity for nanoparticles of LiFeO2 was calculated at about 302 mAhg−1. The magnetic, electrochemical and structural analyses were performed to investigate the properties of LiFeO2 nanostructures.

Tolerance in Akaki Tsereteli’s Poems

XIX century Georgian literature is quite versatile and diverse. It is the transitional period from Romanticism to Realism that is continuously accompanied by the national motive. Though, many other topics were also emphasized in literature of the mentioned period. Georgian literature beginning with its first works guards the morality. Works of XIX century Georgian creators are distinguished in that regard as well. Different ideal characters created by them are the special examples for society even today. This time the given work deals with Akaki Tsereteli’s poems. It is worth of interest as how the ideology of realist, warrior poet is compatible with the tolerant approaches, when Akaki Tsereteli is tolerant and if their characters can forgive and gain a victory over themselves. Tolerance as the moral phenomenon and its philosophical definition are also emphasized in the given work in an interesting way. All of the abovementioned matters are quite acceptable for Akaki. Great humanism and tolerance are revealed in poet’s words. After analyzing the poems given in the work it becomes clear that the poet is tolerant not only with neighbors, but also he turns out to be the most gracious one with enemies. His characters find ways for showing courage even in the war. His characters are not only heroic warriors, the poet also gives them quite a tender temper and that is the reason for becoming worthy brave man. His characters are separated from the natural things, defeat selfish forces and make such decisions in a specific moment that helps them remain humans with morality, they are right with their own conscience and it is the expression of their free will. The given work allows to conclude that Akaki Tsereteli’s poems reveal the greatest examples of tolerance and offer society the samples of humanism and morality.

Developmental prospectives of new generation super absorbent wound dressing materials from sulfated polysaccharide of marine red algae

Wound healing remains as a dynamic process and the type of dressing material significantly affects the efficacy of healing. The identification of ideal dressings to use for a particular wound type is an important requisite facilitating the entire process of healing. Chronic, high exudate wounds are dynamic in presentation and remain as a major health care burden. Researchers have sort to design and optimize biodegradable wound dressings that focuses to optimize moisture retentiveness, as superior character in the healing process. In addition, dressings have been designed to visualize the wound bed by improving the optical property, target and kill infection-causing bacteria, with the incorporation of antimicrobial agents, nanomaterials and numerous other measures. For the practitioners, choosing the optimal dressing decreases time to healing, provides cost-effective care and improves patient quality of life. The current mini review highlights the ideal characters of wound dressing materials and presents insights on the superior characters of carrageenan bio composites for prospective advancements in research in the area of wound care and management.

The Ideas of Dangerous Education: Modification of the Pedagogical Novel in <em>Oliver Twist</em> by Charles Dickens and “The Gemini” by Taras Shevchenko

The article deals with usage of the pedagogical genre in the novels Oliver Twist by Victorian writer Charles Dickens and the story “The Gemini” by Ukrainian writer Taras Shevchenko. It demonstrates that in the novel Oliver Twist by Dickens and the story “The Gemini” by Shevchenko there are some distinct genre features of the pedagogical novel: in both works, one can observe the development of authors’ experiments—the main heroes are placed in specific pedagogical circumstances. Unlike Shevchenko, Dickens promotes the idea of “noble” heredity, which is important for further formation of personality with high moral and ethical principles of the character that is able to resist the negative impact. Despite the external similarities with biblical motifs and themes, the plot of the novels is based on archaic components: the motif of the amazing rescue of the infant and dual organization of the myth about brothers (twins), where the first represents consistency of Good and the other Evil. In both works, antagonists are infantile individuals who revolt against their loving mothers. The writers construct images of wise mentors without whom ideal characters would not form successfully.

Advanced Yield Trial for Various Peanut Lines (Arachis hypogaea L.) at Sodonghilir, Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia

This study aims to evaluate yield and yield components in several peanut lines planted in West Java, Indonesia. The genetic materials tested involved 21 genotypes consisting of 18 potential peanut lines (G100, G133, G142, G144, G199, G205, G209, G21, G234, G237, G33, G37, G41, G53, G54, G76, G84, G99) from a selection of 5 biparental population (GWS79A1/”Zebra”, “Jerapah”/GWS79A1, “Zebra”/GWS79A1, GWS79A1/”Jerapah”, “Zebra”/GWS18A1) and 3 comparative varieties (“Gajah”, “Sima”, and “Zebra”) as controls. Results showed that various genotypes have significant effects on plant height (at 9 and 10 WAP), number of branches (at 4, 10, and 12 WAP), flowering age, and harvest age. Some potential lines showed ideal characters expected of a high quality peanut plant. Based on characters such as harvest age, dry pod weight, and productivity, G100, G41, G21, G205, and G84 can be considered the best potential lines. These lines demonstrated high heritability values including characters classified as high category such as plant height, number of branches, age of flowering, age of harvest, harvest index, wet stover weight, fresh pod weight, number of filled pods, number of empty pods, number of filled pods, and weight of 100 seeds. Additionally, these lines also show high productivity, a character classified in the medium category.

BADRANAYA: Cultural Innovative Media Breakthrough to Deepen the Justice Character of Prospective Multi-Cultural Counselors

Multicultural counselor competencies are things that need to be possessed in order to become an effective counselor with ideal character. Ideal character can be associated with 12 ideal characters formulated from Semar. One of the characters is justice character. Issues of lack of professionalism counselors in the field can occur starting from lack of justice character. This is evidenced by the results of a preliminary study conducted on undergraduate students at guidance and counseling’s department of Nusantara PGRI Kediri University. It is known that prospective counselors still often conduct behaviors that distinguish personalities from one counselee to another, are less neutral when the counselee tells the problem, and the emergence of labeling (stereotype) on their counselee. Therefore, special interventions need to be carried out to improve this justice character so that they can become multicultural counselors who are competent in their fields. Interventions conducted on prospective counselors can use certain media. The chosen media is BADRANAYA (Multi-Cultural Character Counselor Board-game). This research aims to develop a guidance and counseling’s media innovation called BADRANAYA that can be accepted theologically and practically so that its products can be used on a large scale. The Conception of Indigenous Counseling in La Tadampare Puang Rimaggalatung’s Thought

<p class="06IsiAbstrak"><span lang="IN">Puang Rimaggalatung was the King of Wajo Arung Matowa IV who was known as a Bugis philosopher and had advice on the </span><span>value</span><span lang="IN"> of local wisdom. There is a potential culture that can be explored, raised and developed into the study of Indonesian counseling from him. The purpose of this research is to determine and to describe the conception of indigenous counseling from Puang Rimaggalatung’s thoughts. The research method used a qualitative approach with the Gadamerian hermeneutic research method. The results showed the conception of indigenous counseling at the level of human nature, the criteria of bugis counselors, ideal and problematic characters, and the counselor's self-position. The conception of human nature lays on the terms <em>ade’ assamaturuseng</em> (negotiation for consensus) and <em>maradeka</em> (independent). In the criteria of bugis counselors, it includes <em>lempu’</em>, <em>ininnawa deceng</em>; <em>masémpoé ati</em>, <em>warani</em>, <em>macca mpinru’</em>. The ideal characters of the counselor are fair, honest and smart, honest and religious, honest and self-introspective, committed, ethical, conscientious and religious. Since the nano-sized drug free carriers are recently formulated and suggested for drug delivery, which can be loaded with the numerous drugs, hence dealing with an appropriate technique for drug release is the need of the present time. This article states the most convenient method for drug release, and at concluding part gives awareness on recent work done and result obtained on Nano sponge worldwide along with the unique summary on the US granted patents for Nano sponges. Thus, a complete scenario on recent work, methods for evaluations, unique and multiple characters of Nano sponge has been discussed and summarized.

The Ideal Character of Students Based on Moral Values in Short Movie Videos

In this millennium era, there are many students who are dependent on the internet, cell-phones, television and social media. It has a big influence on the formation of student characters because it affects lifestyle, ways of thinking, taking actions and understanding perspectives. The internet and social media have many positive and negative sides. It becomes dangerous when students are more attracted to the negative side and that destroy their characters. Positive character strength must be possessed by students as a provision to achieve the ideals and to become good human beings, so that they can be useful for the environment around. Positive character values can be seen in short movie videos that are associated with ideal characters that students must have. This study aimed at explaining the ideal character of students taken from the moral values of short movie videos. This study used a qualitative approach with library research type. The ideal character of students that could be formulated including (1) honesty; (2) tolerance; (3) discipline; (4) helpfulness; (5) caring for others; (6) responsibility; and (7) courage.
