RELATIONSHIP OF NEUTROPHIL LYMPHOCYTE RATIO WITH APPENDICITIS INCIDENCE Review of Appendicitis Patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik Regency in 2022-2023

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the incidence of acute appendicitis in patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik Regency, in the 2022-2023 period. Acute appendicitis is a frequent emergency surgical condition, especially in adolescents and young adults, with the risk of complications such as perforation and peritonitis. NLR, as an indicator of inflammatory response, is considered more practical and economical than CT scans and ultrasounds, which have limited cost, accessibility, and risk of radiation exposure. This study used an observational analytical method with a cross-sectional approach on 51 appendicitis patients who underwent appendectomy. NLR data was obtained through routine blood results, with statistical analysis using SPSS to test the normality and difference in NLR values between uncomplicated appendicitis and appendicitis with complications. There was a significant difference in the mean NLR value between patients with complementary and non-complementary appendicitis, with a p < value of 0.001. The results of the ROC Curve analysis show that NLR has a high prediction value in predicting complementary appendicitis of 97.5%. This study concludes that NLR can be an effective indicator in distinguishing cases of complementary and non-complementary appendicitis and the potential of NLR as an easy and efficient screening tool in the treatment of acute appendicitis, especially in health facilities with limited resources.

Gambaran Kadar Profil Lipid dengan Derajat Keparahan pada Penderita Stroke Iskemik di Rumah Sakit Ibnu Sina Makassar Tahun 2021-2023

This study aims to describe the lipid profile levels and severity in ischemic stroke sufferers at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar in 2021-2023. The method used in this research is descriptive with a cross sectional study design. The results of this study found that the majority were female with 98 patients (58%) from the total population. The majority had high total cholesterol levels with 106 patients (63%) of the total population. The majority of triglyceride levels were normal with 159 patients (95%) of the total population. The majority of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels were normal with 125 patients (74%) of the total population. The majority of Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) levels were normal with 121 patients (72%) of the total population. Patients were measured using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), the majority of patients experienced moderate stroke with a total of 103 patients (61%) at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar during 2021-2023.

Prevalence of COVID-19 Incidence Rates in Hypertension Patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar in 2020

The COVID-19 virus, which is caused by SARS-CoV-2, is a global health problem that affects many nations. Similar to the H7N9, SARS, and MERS viruses, COVID-19 can be more severe in hypertensive individuals. With a prevalence of 50.1% among COVID-19 patients, hypertension is a significant comorbidity that increases the risk of death by 1.37 times due to the increased number of ACE2 receptors that facilitate the virus's spread. This study uses a descriptive cross-sectional design with secondary data from medical records of COVID-19 patients with hypertension at Rumah Sakit Ibnu Sina Makassar. Data were collected through total sampling after obtaining permission from the hospital and then processed and analyzed descriptively. The study shows that the majority of COVID-19 patients with hypertension are aged 65 and over (33.4%). Male patients are slightly more prevalent (53%) compared to females (47%), possibly due to genetic factors affecting the immune system. Seventy-three percent of patients adhered to hypertension treatment, while 27% did not. The function of the ACE-2 enzyme, which is also affected by antihypertensive treatment, may have an impact on the relationship between COVID-19 and hypertension. These findings emphasize the significance of treating the elderly and remaining on treatment in order to reduce the likelihood of contracting COVID-19. The survey derives that the vast majority of Covid patients with hypertension are developed 65 and over (33.4%), with an insignificantly higher inescapability of folks (53.3%) diverged from females. Adherence to hypertension treatment is high, with 73.3% of patients following their prescribed regimen.

Factors Related to the Quality of Life of Stroke Patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar

Stroke is the third most normal sickness after coronary illness and disease and is the main source of handicap on the planet. The incidence of stroke in Indonesia is very urgent because the number of stroke sufferers is increasing day by day and ranks first in Asia. This study aims to determine factors related to the quality of life of stroke patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar. The design of this study is descriptive correlative with a cross-sectional approach. The statistical tests performed on 30 stroke patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar revealed two factors related to quality of life—age (= 0.034), medical history (= 0.011), and nutritional status (= 0.057)—and two factors that were not related to quality of life—gender (= 0.027 =) and nutritional status (= 0.057). The end is that orientation isn't connected with personal satisfaction, yet age and clinical history are connected with the personal satisfaction of stroke patients at Ibnu Sina Medical clinic Makassar.

The Relationship between HbA1c, GDP and Disease Duration on the Occurrence of Diabetic Neuropathy at Ibnu Sina Hospital

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) affects over 693 million adults globally by 2045, with complications like neuropathy underscoring the need for effective monitoring. This observational case-control study at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar, explores the relationship between HbA1c levels, fasting blood sugar (GDP), disease duration, and diabetic neuropathy. Analyzing 77 medical records, the study found that most participants were aged 56-65 years, predominantly male, with high rates of uncontrolled HbA1c (80.5%) and GDP (67.5%). Diabetic neuropathy prevalence was 61.0%. Statistical analysis revealed significant correlations between neuropathy and HbA1c levels (p=0.000), GDP (p=0.002), and disease duration (p=0.041). These findings highlight the impact of glycemic control and disease duration on neuropathy in DM patients.

Analysis of the Relationship between Pulmonary Hypertension and Tuberculosis Patients at RS Ibnu Sina Makassar January - June 2023

Pulmonary hypertension (PAH), seen in 20%-40% of chronic respiratory diseases, is linked to the severity of these conditions. Tuberculosis, a bacterial infection causing lung damage and impaired function, can contribute to this increased blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, complicating patient outcomes by worsening both conditions. This study used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach, measuring independent and dependent variables simultaneously at a single point in time. It focused on analyzing the relationship between pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary tuberculosis in patients. The study found that most respondents were aged 51-70 years, with no significant link between age or gender and hypertension (P-values=0.091 and 0.655, respectively). Light smoking was significantly associated with hypertension (P-value=0.001), while nutritional status was not (P-value=0.332). Significant relationships were found between blood pressure (P-value=0.002) and spirometry results (P-value=0.000) with hypertension. Thus, blood pressure, smoking habits, and spirometry results were key factors influencing pulmonary hypertension in the 60 patients studied. There is a significant relationship between Pulmonary Hypertension and Tuberculosis patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar, January - June 2023.

Characteristics of Heart Failure Patients Undergoing Intensive Care at Ibnu Sina YW-Umi Makassar Hospital in 2023

Heart failure is a non-communicable disease which is the number one cause of death every year. Heart failure is caused by several avoidable and unavoidable factors. The prevalence of heart failure patients fluctuates from year to year. Considering the high incidence of heart failure, this research was conducted to identify the characteristics of heart failure patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar in 2023. The type of research is descriptive observational. Data were analyzed via Microsoft EXCEL and presented in table form. The research results showed that the majority of heart failure patients were aged 46 – 65 years in the adult category and were male. Heart failure patients have no history of smoking, no history of diabetes mellitus, and no hypertension. The majority of patients have a history of the cause category Coronary Artery Desease (CAD). Description of the death rate in heart failure patients as many as 9 people. The conclusion is that heart failure occurs at the age of 46 – 65 years and the majority are male with factors causing Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Further studies need to be carried out in order to obtain fairly representative data.

Pengaruh Murottal Al-Qur’an tehadap Dosis Obat Anestesi Umum dan Waktu Pulih Sadar pada Pasien Operasi di Rumah Sakit Ibnu Sina Makassar

General anesthesia is used to facilitate surgery by providing hypnotic effects, analgesic effects, and muscle relaxation effects. To provide an adequate hypnotic, analgesia and relaxation effect, an adequate dose is needed. The time to recover consciousness after anesthesia is determined by the volume of fluid in the body, drug metabolism, half-life of the drug, age, and pre-anesthesia status. Murottal Al-Qur'an is a non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce stress hormones, increase feelings of relaxation, divert feelings of fear, improve the body's chemical balance thereby reducing hemodynamics. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of murottal Al-Qur'an on the dose of general anesthesia and the time to recover consciously in surgical patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar. The research method is cross sectional with a quantitative approach. Each group measured the level of sedation using a Ramsay score of 3 or 4, then calculated the time to recover consciousness. The control group was given 1 mg ± 2 mg midazolam until they reached a Ramsay score of 3 or 4, the treatment group was given Al-Qur'an murottal and 1 mg ± 2 mg midazolam until they reached a Ramsay score of 3 or 4. So the time to recover consciousness and the onset of sedation was fast. These results show the influence of murottal Al-Qur'an on the dose of general anesthesia and the time to recover consciousness in surgical patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar.

Profil Anisometropia pada Orang Dewasa di Rumah Sakit Ibnu Sina Makassar

Anisometropia is an interocular asymmetric refractive condition and is caused by a significant difference in diopters between the right and left eyes. Anisometropia occurs when there is a difference in the refractive power of the two eyes. Classification of several levels of difference, namely 1) difference in refraction between the two eyes less than 1.5 D, where both eyes can still be used together with good fusion and stereoscopic, 2) difference in refraction between the two eyes 1.5 D to 3.0 D (the presence of cylindrical differences is more significant than spherical), and 3) the difference in refraction is more than 3.0 D. The high incidence of Anisometropia can be caused by a lack of community initiative in seeking health assistance to treat Anisometropia, or even prevent Anisometropia from getting worse. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of Anisometropia in adults at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar. This research is descriptive in nature. The population of this study was all Anisometropia patients registered at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar so that the research sample was obtained by total sampling, namely the entire study population of 20 patients. Sample acquisition was adjusted to the inclusion criteria, namely Anisometropia patients with complete medical record data. The data was processed using the univariate method so that the research results showed that the majority of Anisometropia patients at the eye clinic at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar were on average 18-25 years old (45%) and mostly occurred in women (60%) and most were students (40%). %) The incidence of Anisometropia is probably caused by excessive use of cellphone or laptop gadgets and at very close range.

The Effect of Ablution on Changes Blood Pressure in The Elderly with A History of Hypertension at Ibnu Sina Hospital

Objective: To find out the effect of ablution on changes in blood pressure in the elderly with a history of hypertension at Ibnu Sina Hospital. Methods: Seeing changes in blood pressure drop momentarily in hypertensive patients before and after ablution, with data collection carried out at one time. Then, it is carried out through the "one group pretest and post-test design" in elderly with history of hypertension at Ibnu Sina Hospital. Results: There was a significant decrease with p value= 0.001 in systole and p value= 0.029 in diastole. The decrease occurs starting at the 5th minute of both systole and diastole, especially at the 15th minute. Mean value of difference in blood pressure before and after ablution at 5 minutes (systole 6.20 mmHg, diastole 4.70 mmHg), at 10 minutes (systole 11.57 mmHg, diastole 9.40 mmHg), at 15 minutes (systole 15.03 mmHg, diastole 11.53 mmHg). Implementation of Spiritual Services in Mental Problems Conducted by Profession Doctor Program Students Toward Patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar Year 2023

Objectives: Islamic Discipline of Medicine is one of the advantages in Medical faculty of Universitas Muslim Indonesia which is a special characteristic in our academic. The Islamic Discipline of Medicine is divided into three units. Unit 1 is the basic understanding of Islam, unit 2 is strengthening the professionalism of doctors with Islamic values, unit 3 is strengthening the professionalism of doctors by studying medical sciences from an Islamic perspective. This study, observed the application of unit 2, including Calm the patient, Teaching patients to increase dhikr (Morning and Evening Dhikr, Ask Allah for Forgiveness and other dhikr according to sunnah), and Motivate the patient to keep performing fardhu prayers. The importance of this being done is to create prospective Muslim doctors in accordance with the Vision and Mission of FK UMI so that they can become caliphs on Earth. Methods: This research is a descriptive study using logbook data from Profession Doctor Program Students. The sample technique used is a purpose sampling of medical students which already done their cycle in Interna department in Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar. Results: From 32 students we found data that’s: 20 student’s makes calm to the patients, 9 students do sometimes, and 3 students didn't do it. About motivating patients to do dhikr: 15 students do it, 7 students sometimes do it, 10 students don't do it and the last motivating to keep performing fardhu prayers: 8 students do it, 9 students sometimes do it, 15 students do not do it. Conclusion: In three aspects of assessment, motivating patients to calm is the best performing compared to motivating patients to do dhikr and motivating patients to keep performing fardhu prayer while there hospitalized. Enhancing Medical Record Quality via Coding Accuracy

Elements of coding quality in medical records include reliability, completeness, validity, and timeliness. This analytical study, employing a quantitative approach, evaluated medical record files of patients with injuries and external cause cases at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik, from October to December 2022. Using the Slovin formula, 161 samples were randomly selected from a population of 271 records. The study variables were reliability (diagnosis readability), completeness (diagnostic code completeness), and validity (5th digit use, diagnosis code accuracy, and external cause code accuracy). Data were analyzed using SPSS and the Chi-Square test. The study found significant relationships between the validity of diagnosis codes and the quality of medical records (p = 0.0001). Reliability showed no significant impact (p = 0.470), while completeness (p = 0.0001) and the use of the 5th digit (p = 0.0001) were significantly related to diagnosis code accuracy. These findings highlight the critical role of accurate coding in improving medical record quality and suggest targeted improvements in coding practices. COMMUNITY SERVICE TO INCREASE PATIENT AWARENESS IN OSTEOARTHRITIS DISEASE PREVENTION AT IBNU SINA HOSPITAL, PANAKUKANG DISTRICT MAKASSAR

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Presbycusis, Elderly, Osteoarthritis Audiometry, and risk factors such as obesity, lack of physical activity, and injury to the joints. The research method used was a survey using questionnaires distributed to the elderly at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Panakkang District, Makassar. The results showed a significant correlation between the conditions of presbycusis, osteoarthritis, and the mentioned risk factors. The implication of this research is the importance of increasing public awareness and knowledge of osteoarthritis prevention and management through targeted and interactive education, such as using banners that are easy to understand and involve direct discussions with the community. This is expected to reduce the incidence of osteoarthritis and reduce the burden of medical costs and improve the quality of life of the elderly.

Correlation Between Heart Disease Clinics Based on NYHA Classification and CTR on Thorax Photos at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar

Heart disease is caused by damaged heart muscle cells that pump blood throughout the body. The cause is due to a lack of oxygen carried by the blood to the blood vessels in the heart or because spasms in the heart muscle result in failure of the heart's function to pump blood. The heart cannot carry out its function properly, as many as 48% of Indonesians experience heart disease. To determine the level of heart disease, the New York Heart Association (NYHA) is used. Increasing NYHA in heart disease can result in an increase in heart size. To determine the correlation between clinical heart disease based on the NYHA classification and CTR results on chest x-rays. Total sampling through secondary data with certain criteria. NYHA 1 (P = 20.2), NYHA 2 (P = 33.3), NYHA 3 (P= 32.3), NYHA 4 (P= 14.1). The heart grade levels based on CTR examination results, no cardiomegaly (<50%) (p= 22.2), mild cardiomegaly (>50-55%) (p= 76.8), moderate cardiomegaly (56-60) (p=0 .0), severe cardiomegaly (>60%) (p=1.0) while symptoms of weakness (n = 57%), palpitations (n = 47%), no shortness of breath (n = 68%), no chest pain ( n = 50%). So there is a significant relationship between NYHA classification and CTR results on Thorax photos. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between NYHA classification and CTR results on Thorax photos.

Characteristics of Hypertension Patients with Chonic Kidney Disease at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar City Year 2022-2023

Hypertension is a condition where the systole is more than or equal to 140 and the diastole is more than or equal to 90 mmHg. In Indonesia the number of hypertension sufferers reaches 70 million people. The prevalence of hypertension in adults is 6-15%. Hypertension that has been going on for a long time and is not controlled, impacts the blood vessels in the kidneys and causes sclerosis of the blood vessels resulting in glomerular damage and tubular atrophy leading to kidney damage. methods: This is a descriptive study with a cross design sectional Results : Hypertension sufferers with the highest incidence of chronic kidney disease are aged 55-64 years (32.9%), the gender is mostly male (57.6%) while female (424%), with a long history of suffering from hypertension is ≥5 year (63,5%), the highest blood pressure control was found in uncontrolled blood pressure (56.5%), and the use of antihypertensive drugs in the form of CCB drugs (51.8%).Conclusion: Hypertensive patients with the incidence of chronic kidney disease at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar City in 2022-23 are mostly at the age of 55-64 years, male with a long history of suffering from hypertension of 5-10 years and control of uncontrolled blood pressure and use of other types of antihypertensive medication, namely Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB).

Characteristics of Acute Diarrhea Patients in Toddlers at Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital Makassar in 2021-2022

Acute diarrhea is defined as passing stool more than 3 times a day with a change in consistency to liquid, with or without mucus and blood, and lasting less than one week. Diarrhea remains an endemic disease and a significant contributor to mortality in Indonesia, especially among toddlers.The purpose of this research is to determine the characteristics of acute diarrhea patients in toddlers at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar in 2021-2022. The results showed the highest incidence of acute diarrhea found in the age group of 1 - <3 years (53.1%), predominantly in males (53.1%), with good nutritional status (60.5%), experiencing vomiting symptoms (41.5%), experiencing dehydration (75.3%), and receiving exclusive breastfeeding (51.9%). The findings of this research lead to the conclusion that acute diarrhea in toddlers is most prevalent in the age group under three years old, predominantly in males, with good nutritional status, experiencing vomiting symptoms, suffering from dehydration, and receiving exclusive breastfeeding.

Comparison of The Effectiveness of E-C Positive Pressure Ventilation Technique and Modified Chinlift Positive Pressure Ventilation Technique in Mppd at Ibnu Sina Hospital

Mask ventilation skills are essential competencies for MPPD to master. According to SKDI, these skills include competency 4A, which is the ability to perform independently by mastering the theory, principles, indications, and steps. To date, there have been few studies evaluating the effectiveness of modified chinlift and E-C techniques regarding the tidal volume delivered (TV). Therefore, the researchers were interested in comparing the effectiveness of the E-C method and modified chinlift positive pressure ventilation technique in mask ventilation (MV) use. This study is a quantitative research with an observational analytical cross-sectional design. Researchers observed the treatments given by MPPD, totaling 22 individuals, to 6 research subjects. Data analysis for this research used Mann-Whitney and chi-square tests as Independence Tests. After applying the E-C technique, 43.8% out of 100% were successful, and 56.3% were not successful. Meanwhile, with the MCL technique, out of 100%, 40.6% were successful, and 59.4% were not successful. The E-C technique showed better results compared to the Modified Chinlift technique in MV, although statistically, the test results for the difference in success scores between the two techniques did not show any significant difference.
