The present experimental work reports the impact of ethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol and glycerol on formation temperature, pressure and inhibition time of methane hydrate. The inhibition effects of hydroxyl functional group of inhibitors have been studied. It is evaluated in terms of temperature, pressure and induction time. Methane hydrate equilibrium temperature and pressure is also studied. Experimental results disclose that ethylene glycol is a strong candidate to hinder methane hydrate thermodynamically while glycerol is good competitor to discourage hydrate formation in both terms kinetic hindrance and thermodynamic hindrance.
