New Technique of Steganography Based on the Theory of Chaos: A Survey

Today with increasing use of the Internet and net- work devices, there is an increase in the demand for more secure data communication. This problem has led to the development of hybrid security mechanisms. Various techniques are available in the literature which makes use of different encryption and steganography mechanisms which has certain advantages and disadvantages. In this work, we give a state of the art on the three notions in order to propose a new hybrid security system that tries to choose the best mechanism of cryptography and steganography. In addition, to increase the capacity of the proposed system it is proposed to use a compression technique.

Implementing Hybrid Security Mechanism for Cloud Considering Intrusion, Sql Injection and Performance Degradation

Considering the demand of cloud services research has considered the issues or problems related to cloud computing. Various approaches adopted by existing research have limited scope and there is need to increase the security of cloud computing environment. The issues of security threat in cloud environment are explained in this paper. There have been several security threats to cloud environment such as Intrusion, brute force, Sql injection, Trozen horse that could affect the security of cloud services. There remains issue of Un-authentic access. Moreover the identity management is becoming a great challenge. Previous researches have proposed cryptographic approach while some provided solution to hacking attempts along with unauthentic external access but these security mechanisms are not sufficient to protect the cloud. Research paper is introducing intelligent system that is capable to trace the intrusion using LSTM based training model. The model is trained in order to categorize intrusion accordingly. The focus of research is to increase the security from intrusion by providing intelligent LSTM approach. This mechanism would classify the transmission in different categories such as Dos-synflooding, MITM ARP spoofing, Mirai- Ackflooding, Mirai-Http flooding, Mirai-Hostbrute forceg, Mirai-UDP Flooding, scan hostport and Normal. Moreover research paper has focused on prevention of Sql injection attacks. In order to increase the security between sender and receiver research has also allowed two way port based hand shaking in order to transmit data more securely. The transmission would be initiated using default port but the actual transmission would be made using random port that would be set for specific time slot.

Proposition of new secure data communication technique based on Huffman coding, chaos and LSB

As the number of internet users grow, finding robust and secure data communication is becoming increasingly popular today. This issue has led to the creation of hybrid security mechanisms. There are several methods in the literature that use various methods of encryption and steganography with certain advantages and disadvantages. This work provides a new hybrid security mechanism that tries to integrate the theory of chaos as cryptography mechanism, with LSB steganography technique. Huffman coding has also been used to increase the ability to integrate the proposed mechanism. Another new thing in this work is that we use a specific presentation to send plaintext data inside a picture. Our proposals are tested in MATLAB. To examine the effectiveness of the proposed technology, three types of analysis are performed: security, robustness and efficiency analysis. Modelling and results show that the proposed method is beating other methods in the literature.

The Afghan Local Police: unpacking a hybrid security arrangement

Our article takes issue with some applications of ‘hybridity’ in contemporary peace studies. We want to correct the view of ‘hybridity’ as mere expressions of resistance by the local to the external interventionist blueprints. We make our case based on field research of a community defence programme developed by the US military to address weaknesses in the Afghan state. Our critical reconstruction of ‘hybridity’ to two provincial studies presses the need to encompass the co-construction of hybrid outcomes, the fluidity of the process and complexities in the local context that shape the choices of both local and international actors. We argue that negative local experiences with the Afghan Local Police can be attributed to elite capture and pragmatic adaptations to the logic of the battle field. We further suggest that even ‘prescribed’ hybridity can work when the context matches the assumptions and conditions outlined in the original blueprint. Our analysis highlights the dangers of simplifying the local and cautions against scaling-up context-specific hybrid security mechanisms to a national level in a diverse and competitive environment such as Afghanistan.

An efficient hybrid security mechanism based on chaos and improved BPCS

Commonly used security mechanisms such as cryptography and steganography suffer from weaknesses when used in a standalone manner. Extra efforts in the form of additional permutations/diffusions etc. result in higher ciphering/deciphering time complexity. Thus, there is a requirement for a security mechanism(s) which can provide adequate security without putting a considerable burden on ciphering/deciphering time complexity. This paper is an effort in this direction. The paper proposes a hybrid mechanism that employs chaotic based encryption scheme to encrypt data and an improved Bit-Plane Complexity Segmentation Steganography algorithm to embed the data. The proposed mechanism uses two new complexity measures to differentiate between noisy regions and simple ones appropriately. The scheme was implemented in MATLAB, and the simulation results show that the proposed mechanism has high embedding capacity, high security with a moderate decrease in PSNR value and is computationally fast.

A novel hybrid security mechanism for data communication networks

With the growing internet technology over the last decade, the number of intruders trying to steal the confidential information has also risen. As a result, for the protection of secret data from unwanted access, hybrid security mechanisms employing the use of steganography to hide the encrypted data are gaining popularity. These mechanisms provide an extra level of security to the data. This paper proposes a hybrid mechanism that not only aims at providing good security but at the same time has high data embedding capacity and entropy values with low execution time complexity. To enhance the embedding capacity of the overall system, Improved Bit Plane Complex Steganography (IBPCS) along-with Huffman coding is used and for providing randomness, the use of chaos process wherever possible is done. The cryptographic technique employed is hierarchical visual cryptography due to its efficiency over other cryptographic mechanisms. The overall scheme is implemented in MATLAB-10 and the results prove that the proposed mechanism is efficient to other available schemes in literature.

Comparison of Hybrid Security Schemes: A Survey

In today’s age, communication through internet has become inseparable entity of many applications. These applications often require secrecy of data to be transmitted for security reasons. Therefore, commonly used security mechanisms such as cryptography and steganography can be employedto provide security, however using these techniques standalone often poses security threats. Therefore, a hybrid approach can be used for improving security features. In this paper comparison is drawn of recently published hybrid security mechanisms on the basis of following parameters: Visual assessment, Encrypted code Analysis, Similarity Analysis, Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), Information Entropy Analysis, Embedding Capacity Analysis, Key space analysis. The schemes are implemented and comparedusing MATLAB-2015.

In this paper, we propose a new hybrid security mechanism that tries to choose the best cryptographic and steganography mechanism. In addition, to increase the embedding capacity of the proposed mechanism, Huffman encoding scheme is used. The proposed strategy is implemented in MATLAB-09. In order to check the efficacy of the proposed technique three types of analysis were performed named as: security, robustness and efficiency analysis. It is found from the simulation and results that the proposed scheme outperforms other techniques in literature in every aspect.

A Hybrid Security Mechanism for Intra-WBAN and Inter-WBAN Communications

The emerging wireless body area networks (WBANs) have a great potential for the growth and development of future ubiquitous healthcare systems. However, due to the use of unreliable wireless media, WBANs are exposed to a variety of attacks. The prevention of these attacks depends upon the cryptographic techniques. The strength of cryptography is based on the keys used for encryption and decryption in the communication process. Security is still an alarming challenge for WBANs and needs attention of the research community. The proposed work introduces a hybrid key management scheme for both intra-WBAN and inter-WBAN communications. The proposed technique is based on preloaded keys as well as keys automatically generated from biometrics of the human body. The biometric-based calculations are of linear time complexity to cater the strict resource constraints and security requirements of WBANs. The proposed security mechanism provides an efficient solution for the security of both intra-WBAN and inter-WBAN communications. The results of the proposed technique are compared with an existing key management technique known as BARI+. The results show significant improvement over the results produced by BARI+ in terms of storage, communication, energy overhead, and security.
