The effect of digital storytelling on women's human papilloma virus awareness: Randomized controlled experimental study.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the digital storytelling (DS) method in increasing human papilloma virus (HPV) awareness. The study was conducted in the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient clinic of a state hospital between April and December 2023. The universe of the study consisted of women who applied to the outpatient clinic between these dates and volunteered. A total of 80 women who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study (n = 40 for each group). Data for the study were gathered using Personal Introduction Form and Human Papilloma Virus Knowledge Scale. Repeated measures ANOVA method was used to determine the difference between the pre-training, post-first training and post-second training measurement scores according to the intervention and control groups. For significant ANOVA results, measurements with differences were compared pairwise using Bonferroni correction. All statistical analyses were examined at the p < 0.05 significance level. Socio-demographic characteristics and HPV awareness levels of women in the intervention and control groups were similar before training (p > 0.05). After the activity conducted with the digital story method in the intervention group, the HPV awareness levels of women in this group increased significantly (p < 0.05). Considering the development in each group, an increase in posttest scores is observed in both groups. However, when the increase amounts in each group in the intervention and control groups were examined, it was determined that all awareness levels increased more in the intervention group. In the intergroup comparison, it was determined that the mean measurements of general HPV knowledge, general HPV vaccine knowledge, and knowledge of the current HPV vaccination program of women in the intervention group at the first and second follow-ups after the training were higher than those in the control group. The DS method was effective in raising HPV awareness given to the intervention group. Health professionals and researchers can benefit from DS in providing health education and consultancy services such as HPV awareness.

Health beliefs and associated factors related to HPV and HPV vaccination in a sample of Turkish women: A cross-sectional study.

This study was conducted to determine women's health beliefs about HPV and HPV vaccination and factors associated with health beliefs. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 300 women aged 21-64 in Turkey. Data were collected using the human papillomavirus (HPV) knowledge scale (HPV-KS) and the health belief model scale for human papillomavirus and its vaccination (HBMS-HPVV). The mean age of the women who participated in the study was 35.16±9.52 years. Of them, 72.3% heard of the HPV test, 30.3% had an HPV test, 62% heard of HPV vaccination, and 9.7% had HPV vaccination. Educational level, hearing about the HPV vaccine, and HPV knowledge level were significant predictors of perceived benefit (p<.001). HPV knowledge level significantly predicted perceived susceptibility (p<.001). HPV knowledge level and hearing about HPV tests and vaccines were significant predictors of perceived severity (p<.001). A high level of education, a high level of HPV knowledge, and hearing about HPV tests and the HPV vaccine positively affect women's health beliefs. Health belief model-based education programs should be used to improve women's HPV knowledge and health beliefs about HPV and the HPV vaccine. In addition to women's health beliefs, cervical cancers can only be prevented by including the HPV vaccine in national immunization programs and increasing the coverage of HPV screening tests.

Distribution of human papillomavirus in women by genotype, age, education, and geography in Baghdad, 2021-2022

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main causative agent of cervical cancer and genital warts. HPV infection can be persistent with high-risk HR-HPV genotype. Objective: Investigate the distribution of HPV genotype in Baghdad province, to afford a scientific source for initial detection policies and immunization for cervical tumors in the province. Methodology: From January 2021 to September 2022, 400 women who were tested for HPV genotyping, were referred to the Central Public Health Laboratory (CPHL) in Baghdad province. They have one or more of the following (intermenstrual bleeding, post-menopausal bleeding, post-coital bleeding, vaginal discharge, and warts). Results: The prevalence of HPV infection showed a high percentage in Rusafa about 74.17%, however, Al-karkh showed about 25.83%. Both regions appeared high distribution for genotypes (16&amp;18) as predominant types for HR-HPV. Two major rates of HPV infection have been found in women aged group (20-30) years, about (45.31%) and (36.72%) in women aged (30-40) years, these groups consider reproductive age therefore HR-HPV risking persistent infection. In comparison, HPV infections show (13.28%) among women aged 40-50 years. finally, HPV infection in the elderly group 50-65 years was (4.69%) showing the lowest percentage, also women with secondary education level appeared higher percentage of HPV infection about (42.63%) compared with primary and higher education. Conclusion: The prevalence of high-risk-HPV infection showed a high percentage in Baghdad providence and there was an important for age specificity, in addition to an inverse relationship with the education level.

Quality of food intake and spontaneous clearance of Human papillomavirus in women.

Human papillomavirus is known to be the main cause of cervical cancer. Given that cervical cancer is still one of the leading causes of death in women of reproductive age, it is very important to prevent HPV infection and its persistence. The aim of our study was to explore the quality of the diet in the spontaneous clearance of cervical HPV infection and its persistence. Furthermore, we have assessed the associations of overall diet quality and dietary components with HPV occurrence and clinical resolution of HPV over time. 200 women of age between 20 and 68 years were included in this prospective study. Patients were tested for the presence of HPV subtypes, and were given questionnaires about their dietary habits. 43 patients were positive for HPV virus, and 157 patients were negative. Among the positive HPV patients, the mean value (±SEM) of the score was 12.88±0.6822 (min=7, max=21) with upper CI of mean 14.26 and coefficient of variation of 34.72%. Various antioxidants have different abilities to influence the course of HPV-mediated cervical cancer. GSTP , GSTT1 , XRCC1 and CASP8 Genetic Variations are Associated with Human Papillomavirus in Women with Cervical Cancer From Zimbabwe

Aim: Investigate the role of host genetic variations in high-risk human papillomaviruses (HR-HPVs). Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited 238 cervical cancer patients. Variants in transport (ABCC2), xenobiotic metabolism ( GSTP, GSTT1, GSTM1, NQO1), DNA repair ( ERCC1, XRCC1), immune response ( TLR4) and apoptosis ( CASP8, FASL, p53) genes were characterized. Tumor DNA was genotyped for 14 HR-HPVs. Results: GSTP rs1695GG, XRCC1 rs1799782TT and GSTT1 del/del were associated with HPV51 (odds ratio [OR]: 3.9; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.3–11.7; p = 0.02) and HPV58 (OR: 2.4; 95% CI: 1.2–5.8; p = 0.048), respectively. CASP8 rs3834129del/del was associated with HPV16/18 (OR: 2.7; 95% CI: 1.2–6.0; p = 0.017) and HPV monoinfections (OR: 2.3; 95% CI: 1.2–4.4; p = 0.008). Conclusion: GSTP, GSTT1, XRCC1 and CASP8 variants were associated with HPV-positivity. With further research, a genetic-based screening tool can be developed, to use with HPV vaccines toward preventing cervical cancer.

Human papillomavirus in women infected with human immunodeficiency virus: association with viral load and lymphocyte count.

Women living with human immunodeficiency virus are at an increased risk of developing cancers related to human papillomavirus (HPV). Thus, it is important to combine clinical assessments, serological screening, and HPV data for planning prevention policies. This study aimed to identify HPV and its specific types in the cervical, anal, and oral mucosa of HIV-seropositive women, associating it with viral load and lymphocyte count. Sociodemographic characteristics, health data (CD4+ and CD8+ T cell counts and viral load), and biological samples (cervical, anal, and oral) were collected from 86 HIV-positive women undergoing antiretroviral therapy. Data were classified according to the presence or absence of HPV-DNA, HPV-DNA presence at one or more anatomic sites, and level of oncogenic risk, considering low- and high-risk oncogenic HPV-DNA groups. The presence of HPV in the cervicovaginal site was 65.9%, 63.8% in anal canal, and 4.2% in oral mucosa. A viral load ≥75 HIV copies/mL was associated with the presence of HPV-DNA. There was an association between viral load and the low-risk HPV or high-risk HPV groups. We found a high prevalence of HPV infection in HIV-seropositive women, particularly in the cervical and anal mucosa, with viral load ≥75 HIV copies/mL being associated with HPV-DNA presence.

The Prevalence of Human Papillomavirus in Women Living with HIV in Mukono General Hospital, Uganda

Background and aims: High-risk oncogenic genotype human papillomavirus (HPV) infection induces cervical cancer (CaCx), a common cancer in women globally. Women living with human immunodeficiency virus (WLHIV) have a greater risk of hr-HPV infection and perseverance, enhancing the risk of defects in the cells of the cervix and aggressive CaCx. However, its prevalence in WLHIV is not apparent. The main objective of this research was to explore the types and prevalence of HPV infection by genotyping HPV among a cohort of WLHIV attending an antiretroviral therapy (ART) clinic in Mukono, Uganda. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among women aged 25 to 49 years attending an ART clinic in a public health facility in Mukono, Uganda. Systematic random sampling was used to select 342 WLHIV from a target population of 3000. Only participants who had an Xpert HPV test between July 2021 and December 2022 were selected and interviewed, and their responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Slightly more than half (56.7%) of the participants were under 35 years old, married (52.6%), and with a primary level of education (51.2%). The prevalence of hr-HPV was 39.8% (95% CI: 34.40-44.78). Of the total participants, 136 (39.8%) were high-risk HPV positive, with HPV 16, HPV18/45, and other hr-HPV types (31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, and 68) being positive in 23 (6.7%), 21 (6.1%), and 110 (32.2%), respectively, while 17 (12.5%) had mixed hr-HPV infections. Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of HPV infection among WLHIV, underscoring the need to frequently screen and diagnose CaCx pre-cancerous lesions for its effective prevention.

Genotype profiles of high-risk human papillomavirus in women of reproductive age: A community-based study.

This research is a preliminary study to observe the high-risk HPV infection profile among asymptomatic women, as a basis for developing Indonesian-specific reagents and implementing a national vaccination program. The research subjects were female employees/families of BUMN (state-owned enterprises) who underwent annual routine medical check-up. The research sample was a cervical swab which was examined using the Cobas® 6800 platform for HPV identification and INNO Lipa (Fujirebio) kit for identification of the genotype. Out of 858 cervical swab samples collected in this study, 31 samples were excluded as they had invalid results from the initial examination, so the remaining 827 samples continued this study protocol. Of those samples, 69 (8%) samples gave positive results, giving an overall HPV prevalence of 8%. Among HPV-positive samples, HPV 52 was the most common genotype (N = 15, 21.7%) found as both single-infection and multiple infections. The median age of subjects was 38 years. There were nine samples (13%) with multiple infections of two or more genotypes and seven samples (10.1%) with no specific genotype identified. HPV prevalence was 8%, with HPV 52 being the most common high-risk type, making it a necessity to develop a diagnostic kit and vaccine for national vaccination program that is specific for Indonesian population which includes this genotype.

Prevalence and Genetype Distribution of Human Papillomavirus in Women with Condyloma Acuminatum in Henan Province, Central China.

This study aims to analyze the distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes and the associations of demographic characteristics with HPV infection among women with condyloma acuminatum (CA) in Henan Province of China. From January 2019 to October 2022, 702 women with CA were sampled for HPV subtypes and surveyed by questionnaire at Henan Provincial People's Hospital. The HPV genotype was tested by flow-through hybridization after polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The location of warts was mainly vulva. The age of the subjects was mainly distributed in the 20-29-year-old, followed by 30-39-year-old. The most common subtypes were HPV 6 (43.59%), 11 (24.93%), 16 (11.82%), 52 (7.83%), 58 (7.55%), 51 (7.26%), 61 (5.70%), 39 (5.56%), 18 (5.13%), and 54 (4.70%), our results also suggested that HPV 6 and 11 were the dominant genotypes in each age group. The infection of low-risk HPV (LR-HPV) (74.50%) and single HPV (47.01%) were the main categories. In terms of educational level, women with senior high school or above were inclined to infect single and pure-LR HPV. Unmarried status, sometimes or never condom use increased the chances of multiple, pure high-risk (HR) and mixed HPV infections. Women with multiple sex partners were more likely to cause multiple and mixed HPV infections. Our experimental data on the prevalence and subtype distribution of HPV in women with CA could provide valuable reference for preventing CA in Henan Province. The application of the nine-valent vaccine provides a broad prospect for female CA prevention.

Distribution of high-risk human papillomavirus in women with ASC-US or LSIL in Tunisian women: Place of HPV testing for women triage in Tunisia

The present study aimed to evaluate the distribution of oncogenic HPVs in Tunisian women diagnosed with ASC-US or LSIL in order to highlight the importance of HPV testing in the management of women with minor cytological lesions. The study involved 213 cervical samples from women aged from 18 to 82 years and diagnosed with ASC-US or LSIL. HPV detection and genotyping was performed by nested PCR followed by reverse Line Blotting. HPV DNA was identified in 161 cases (76.3%). Oncogenic HPV genotypes were detected in 53.1% of cases. The most frequent high-risk genotypes in this study were HPV16 (28.8%) followed by: HPV51 (9.6%), HPV18, HPV31 HPV56 (7.1%) and HPV45 (5.1%). Thus, 24 % of studied women were not infected by HPV and about 47% of infections are without oncogenic HPV. These results highlight the value of HPV testing in the decision algorithm of management of minor abnormalities lesions.

Age-specific prevalence and genotype distribution of human papillomavirus in women from Northwest China.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of cervical cancer with more than 200 genotypes. Different genotypes have different potentials in causing premalignant lesions and cervical cancers. In this study, we investigated the age-specific prevalence and genotype distribution of HPV genotypes in Northwest China. We recruited 145,918 unvaccinated women from Northwest China for population-based HPV DNA screening test during June 2015 to December 2020. And a lab-based test was performed for each volunteer by flow fluorescent technology to identify the genotypes of HPV. The overall infection rate of HPV was 22.97%. With the participants divided into 12 groups according to age, a bimodal curve of infection rate was obtained. And the two peaks appeared in the younger than 20 group and 61-65 group, respectively. The five most common HPV genotypes included HPV 16, 58, 52, 53 and 61 in all participants, which were in descending order of frequency. Among women younger than 25 years old, HPV 6 and 11 were more common and even higher than some genotypes mentioned above. Among women older than 65 years old, HPV 18 and 66 were more common than or as high as the six most common genotypes in all populations. Additionally, the distribution of single and multiple infections in each age group was also different. The baseline prevalence and genotype distribution of HPV in Northwest China was uncovered for the first time. Age was related to the epidemiology of different HPV genotypes. All the results would be of great significance for future healthcare services.

Genetic diversity in L1 ORF of human papillomavirus in women with cervical cancer with and without human immunodeficiency virus in Botswana and Kenya

BackgroundThe variation of human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes shapes the risks of cervical cancer and these variations are not well defined in Africa. Nucleotide changes within the L1 gene, nucleotide variability, and phylogeny were explored in relation to HIV in samples from Botswana and Kenya.MethodsA total of 98 HPV-positive cervical samples were sequenced to identify different HPV variants. Phylogenetic inferences were used to determine HPV genotypes and investigate the clustering of sequences between women living with HIV (WLWHIV) and -women not living with HIV (WNLWHIV).ResultsOut of 98 generated sequences, 83.7% (82/98) participants had high-risk (HR) HPV genotypes while 16.3% (16/98) had low-risk (LR) HPV genotypes. Among participants with HR-HPV genotypes, 47.6% (39/82) were coinfected with HIV. The prevalence of HR-HPV genotypes was statistically higher in the Botswana population compared to Kenya (p-value < 0.001). Multiple amino acid mutations were identified in both countries. Genetic diversity differed considerably among WLWHIV and WNLWHIV. The mean pairwise distances between HPV-16 between HIV and HIV/HPV as well as for HPV-18 were statistically significant. Six (6) new deleterious mutations were identified in the HPV genotypes based on the sequencing of the L1 region, HPV-16 (L441P, S343P), HPV-18 (S424P), HPV-45 (Q366H, Y365F), and HPV-84 (F458L). The majority of the patients with these mutations were co-infected with HIV.ConclusionsGenomic diversity and different genomic variants of HPV sequences were demonstrated. Candidate novel mutations within the L1 gene were identified in both countries which can be further investigated using functional assays.

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a widely prevalent sexually transmitted virus. Because HPV is the causative agent of cervical cancer, knowledge of the epidemiology of HPV is critical. Objective: To study the prevalence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) in cases of abnormal cervical cytology in Kirkuk city. Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, we collected 55 Pap smears samples from women attending Azadi Teaching Hospital and private clinics in Kirkuk over the period from 2012 to 2015. Two specimens were collected from each patient; one for a Pap smear study and the other for PCR assay to detect HPV. Results: HR-HPV was positive in 58.2% of patients. The HR-HPV positivity was highest in the age group 21-30 years (90.9%) and lowest at the age group ≥ 51 years (25%). The highest positive rate was in the group married at age 21-25 years (76.2%) and this rate decreased with progression of the marriage age until reaching (20%) in the age group married at ≥31 years. The largest group was para 3-4 (58.2%), followed by para 1-2 and nulliparous (29.1% and 9.1%, respectively). The highest positive rate was in the group para 3-4 (65.6%). Majority of the patients (67.3%) had ASC-US on cytological diagnosis, while LSIL and HSIL accounting for (18.2%) and (14.5%) respectively. The prevalence of HR-HPV infection rate increases with increasing the grade of abnormality reaching to (80%) and (87.5%) in cases of LSIL and HSIL respectively, while the positivity for ASCUS was ranking (45.9%), which was statistically significant (P-value=0.029), although the positivity in cases of HSIL was more than in the cases of LSIL the difference was statistically not significant (P-value =0.671). Conclusion: It is worthy to add HR-HPV screen by PCR to Pap test to increase the sensitivity of primary screening for cervical cancer. Key words: Abnormal Pap smears, HPV

Ten-year questionnaire study on human papillomavirus vaccination targeting new female medical school students: Follow-up to the 2015 report.

We aimed to conduct a fixed-point observation questionnaire survey of changes in young women's human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination status over the course of 10 years. We also investigated the influence of suspension of governmental recommendation for HPV vaccination since June 2013. During 2011-2020, we conducted a self-completed questionnaire survey among newly enrolled female medical school students in Yokohama, Japan. The questionnaire featured items regarding HPV vaccination status, age, previous sex education, and knowledge about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination. HPV vaccine uptake rates in 2011 (5.4%) and 2012 (13.5%), when vaccination was self-funded, increased after 2013 (48.7%), when vaccination fees were subsidized. The rate dropped drastically in 2019 (14.3%) and 2020 (5.1%), after suspension of recommendation by the government. Comparisons between new students in 2015/2016, who had high vaccination rates (65.2%), and new students in 2019/2020, who had low vaccination rates (9.8%), showed decreased levels of HPV vaccination awareness, with fewer students having covered cervical cancer prevention in sex education and with respondents having less knowledge about the details of HPV vaccination. After the suspension of proactive HPV vaccine recommendation, markedly fewer students have been vaccinated against HPV, even those at the vaccination target age. This situation has substantially influenced the lower awareness about cervical cancer prevention, even among medical school students. To protect young women from cervical cancer in Japan, it is crucial for the government to resume proactive recommendation of HPV vaccines as soon as possible.

Cervical cancer: monitoring of the main indicators characterizing this pathology in Khabarovsk Krai (2009–2019)

Aim. Conduct a comparative assessment of the main indicators of the incidence of cervical cancer in Khabarovsk Krai (20092019) аnd the prevalence of types of human papillomavirus among the female population.&#x0D; Materials and methods. A comparative analysis of the data of the official statistics of the Ministry of Health of Khabarovsk Krai, using the Rosstat database for the period 20092019, taking into account the incidence, mortality, prevalence of types of human papillomavirus, was carried out. The dynamics trend was determined in the process of graphical analysis of the diagram and by modeling trends. The results of the studies were subjected to the methods of statistical information processing.&#x0D; Results. The results revealed in our study indicate that the increase in the incidence of cervical cancer in Khabarovsk Krai from 2009 to 2019 was 44.4% (with an average annual growth rate of 4.5%). Most often, cervical cancer in Khabarovsk Krai is detected in urban residents. The share of urban women with this pathology in 2019 reached 77.2%. The proportion of stage III cancer detected exceeds the proportion of stage IIIIV cancer by 2.5 times. Mortality in patients with cervical cancer in Khabarovsk Krai exceeds that in the Russian Federation. Of the 1617 residents of the city of Khabarovsk of reproductive age, 883 (54%) women had the presence of human papillomavirus. For our region, most often, women had highly oncogenic types of human papillomavirus 16, 56, 51.&#x0D; Conclusion. Statistical analysis based on the results of diagnosing early and advanced stages of cervical cancer, mortality from this nosological form, and the spread of the human papillomavirus remain among the most important criteria. The data obtained make it possible to assess the effectiveness of the chosen tactics in the regions and take timely corrective measures aimed at both early detection of cervical cancer and a decrease in the persistence of the human papillomavirus in women with background cervical pathology.

Prevalence of Human Papilloma virus in women with Abnormal Cervical Smears from Sarawak, Malaysia

Introduction: Cervical cancer is common cancer and ranked in fourth place in both incidence and mortality worldwide. It is 3rd most common female cancer in Malaysia with a lifetime risk of 1 in 116. Infection with high-risk oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) is recognized as one of the substantial risk factors for the development of cervical cancers. Methods: It was a cross-sectional study conducted to determine the prevalence of HPV infection and its subtypes among women with various degrees of abnormal smears, who were seen in the colposcopy clinic of Sarawak General Hospital within six months’ period from January to June 2018. We recruited 56 participants. There were 23 each for an atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance (ASC-US) and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) and 10 high- grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL). DNA was extracted, and HPV genotypes were determined via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using two primer pairs MY09/MY11 and GP5+/GP6+. Results: The age ranged from 23 to 56 years, with a mean age of 42.96 years. HPV was detected in 20 out of 56 (35.7%). There were 6 high-risk oncogenic HPVs (18, 51, 52, 56, 58, 68) detected in participants and the most prevalent subtypes were 18, 52, and 58 (20% each). Four low-risk HPVs detected were 6, 53, 70, and 84. There was a significant association between the severity of cervical lesions and HPV positivity (P &lt; 0.004). HSIL had the highest positive predictive value to have HPV infection as 70% compared to 43.4% of LSIL and 9.3% of ASC-US. Conclusion: Distribution of HPV subtypes from women with abnormal smears from Sarawak indicated a high prevalence of HPV 18, 52, and 58. We also identified HPV 70, which has never been reported in West Malaysia. These findings could contribute valuable information for HPV vaccination strategies, particularly for Sarawakian women.

BackgroundSouth African women of reproductive age have a high burden of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. However, there is limited information on the prevalence of sexually transmitted pathogens in women from rural Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. The study aims at determining the prevalence of sexually transmitted pathogens and co-infection with high-risk (HR) HPV among women from rural Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.MethodsA total of 205 cervical specimens were collected from women aged ≥ 30 years from a rural community-based clinic. The samples were tested for a panel of pathogenic STIs [Chlamydia trachomatis (serovars A-K & L1-L3), Haemophilus ducreyi, Herpes Simplex Virus (Types 1 & 2), Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Treponema pallidum, Trichomonas vaginalis (TV), and pathobionts [Mycoplasma genitalium (MG), Mycoplasma hominis (MH) and Ureaplasma spp. (UP)] using a multiplex PCR STD direct flow chip assay through a manual Hybrispot platform (Master Diagnostica, Granada, Spain). HR-HPV detection was performed by Hybrid Capture-2 assay.ResultsHigh-risk HPV prevalence was 32.2% (66/205) and HIV-1 prevalence was 38.5% (79/205). The overall prevalence of six pathogenic STIs was 22.9% (47/205), with TV having the highest prevalence (15.6%; 32/205). UP (70.2%, 144/205) and MH (36.6%, 75/205) were the most frequently detected pathobionts. Co-infection with ≥ 2 pathogens pathobionts was observed among 52.7% (108/205) participants. Of the six pathogenic STIs, three participants had more than one STI (1.46%) with the presence of MH and UP. HSV-2 (OR: 4.17, CI [1.184–14.690]) and HIV infection (OR: 2.11, CI [1.145–3.873]) were independent STIs associated with HR-HPV infection.ConclusionsThe high prevalence of pathogenic STIs underscores the need to improve syndromic management policy by implementing effective strategies of prevention, screening tests, and management. HSV-2 and HIV positive remain strongly associated with HR-HPV infection.
