Self-Directed Learning Readiness Model: A Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy among Need-Supportive Teaching Style, Transformational Parenting and Emotional Intelligence

<p style="text-align:justify">The study aimed to explore the self-directed learning readiness model and its relationship with various factors such as emotional intelligence, transformational parenting, need-supportive teaching style, and self-efficacy as potential mediators. The research was conducted with 415 junior high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia. To ensure the reliability and validity of the instruments used in the study, confirmatory factor analysis was performed. The loading factor values of all the items in the instruments were found to be greater than .50 indicating a satisfactory level of validity. Additionally, the reliability coefficient of all the instruments exceeded .90 demonstrating good internal consistency. Analysis using structural equation modeling (SEM) demonstrated that the theoretical model of self-directed learning readiness was consistent with empirical conditions because it meets the standard value of goodness of fit. Furthermore, through the indirect effect tests, it was discovered that need-supportive teaching style, emotional intelligence, and transformational parenting significantly influenced self-directed learning readiness, with self-efficacy acting as a mediator. Among the factors examined, self-efficacy was found to have the greatest impact in explaining readiness for self-directed learning readiness.</p>

Investigating External Causes for Lack of Reading Motivation among Private High School Students

This article investigates the critical issue of dwindling reading motivation among high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia, specifically focusing on English texts. Against the global context of the paramount importance of reading proficiency, the data reveal a troubling decline in reading interest, particularly evident among private high school students in metropolitan areas. The study advocates for implementing the multiple intelligences strategy and emphasizes the crucial role of teachers in fostering motivation and interest in reading English texts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with participants from a Surabaya-based private high school, the research employs convenience sampling, incorporating interviews and observations for data collection. The findings spotlight external factors contributing to students' diminished motivation, encompassing unappealing book covers, underutilized free time, comprehension challenges, and limited book availability. The ensuing discussion underscores the necessity for targeted interventions by educators and policymakers, extending beyond academic success to cultivate a positive reading culture. Such a culture contributes to holistic student development, nurturing cognitive abilities, effective communication skills, and instilling a lifelong love for learning. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the profound implications of investing in a positive reading culture for the personal and intellectual growth of high school students in Indonesia.

Prevalence angle of trunk rotation in adolescents: a study from an idiopathic scoliosis school screening in Surabaya

Link of Video Abstract: https://youtu.be/GtRgpMD7tsM Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is the most common type of scoliosis. The condition begins in early puberty, affects 1-3% of adolescents, and randomly affects young women. Scoliosis screening is still a hot topic discussed by various researchers, especially in the school child population, and it is still an important preventive program to reduce the progression of spinal deformity. This study aims to determine the prevalence rate angle of trunk rotation in idiopathic scoliosis school screening in Surabaya. Methods: This research is a cross-sectional study with a descriptive observational type using surveys and examinations. In this study, the sample used was 405 junior high school students in Surabaya. The sampling method is cluster random sampling, where each member of the population is divided into subclasses with the school as the cluster. Samples were randomly selected from each area of Surabaya. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0 for Windows. Results: These data found that the age distribution of the scoliosis screening study was an average of 13.87 years and a median of 14 years. The gender distribution of the scoliosis screening study sample was more female, 211 samples (52.1%) compared to men, 194 samples (47.9%). The distribution was obtained from 405 total samples; 2 positive samples were obtained during the Adam's Forward Bend Test, both 14 years old and female. On examination with a scoliometer, both showed 9 and 11 degrees, respectively. The prevalence angle of trunk rotation in idiopathic scoliosis school screening in Surabaya was 0.49%. Conclusion: This figure is lower than several studies conducted in several other countries. This may be obtained due to differences in the number of research samples undertaken in each country.

Attitude and Behavior Towards Covid-19 Control Among High School Students in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, Indonesia

Morbidity and mortality due to Covid-19 tend to be milder in adolescents. Nevertheless, their perception, attitude, and behavior towards Covid-19 deserve attention since they would also contribute to the success of Covid-19 control. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the perceived severity, susceptibility, attitudes, and behavior toward Covid-19 among high school students. This was a cross-sectional study conducted in five schools in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. Questionnaires were given online to teachers who then forwarded them to high school students. Data were taken from July to October 2021. Attitude and behavior were examined using the scoring previously tested. The data were then analyzed using Mann-Whitney U and Spearman’s correlation tests. The significance level was set at p<0.05. More than 50% of students had good preventive behavior, the most frequent one was wearing masks (87.3%), followed by washing hands (73%). The behavior was correlated with their attitude (r= 0.285, p=0.000). Fifty-three percent of the respondents felt they would experience mild symptoms if they were infected with Covid-19. Most students perceived that they were susceptible to getting infected with Covid-19. Significant results were obtained using the Mann-Whitney test on gender toward attitudes and behavior (p<0.05). There were significant correlations between the mother’s educational level (r=0.164, p=0.001) and the father’s educational levels (r=0.120, p=0.013) with attitude toward Covid-19 control policies. Female students in Surabaya and Sidoarjo have better behavior in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Parents’ educational level plays a role in influencing the student’s attitude toward Covid-19 control.

AN ANALYSIS OF JUNIOR HIGH STUDENT’S SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS AFTER COVID-19

This research aims to analyze the science process skills of junior high school students after 2 years of distance learning or post-COVID-19. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method using multiple choice questions with 30 items and 4 answer options with 5 SPS indicators: operationalizing definitions, designing experiments, identifying and controlling variables, formulating hypotheses, and describing and interpreting data. The SPS instrument was given to 28 private junior high school students in Surabaya, 9th grade. The results obtained were that the indicator of operationalizing definitions was 33.40% with a low category, designing experiments was 38.89% with a low category, identifying and controlling variables was 40.00% with a low category, formulating hypotheses was 33.00% with a low category, and describing and interpreting data was 44.00% with a low category. The questions 2 and 4 with the indicators of recognizing and controlling variables and articulating hypotheses yielded the fewest correct answers from the students. On question 25, students with the indicator of detecting and controlling variables received the majority of the right responses.

Overview of Emotion Regulation in Vocational High School Students in Surabaya

Emotion regulation is an individual's way of consciously or unconsciously to maintain, strengthen or reduce one or more aspects of emotional responses in which there is an experience of emotion and behavior. Adolescence is a period of transition to adulthood whose emotions fluctuate and are less able to express emotions in the right way. Emotional regulation in late teens is found in the fact that they are less able to regulate emotion properly, indicated by aggressive behavior, apathy towards the environment, free sex, drugs, and even withdrawal. Emotion regulation is influenced by physiological aspects, subjective experiences of individuals and responses to existing emotions. The purpose of this study is to describe the emotional regulation of students at SMK X Surabaya. The subjects in this study amounted to 153 people with Non-Probality sampling technique with quota sampling method. Subject criteria are students of SMK X Surabaya. The data collection method used the Emotion Regulation scale. Data analysis used descriptive statistics to analys just one variable wich is emotion regulation in SMK X Surabaya with the results of 6 students with a percentage of 4% having very high emotional regulation, 116 students having high emotional regulation with a percentage of 76%, 31 students having low regulation with a percentage of 20% and no students having very low regulation so that the percentage is 0%.

The Effect of Financial Literacy, Economic Literacy, and Entrepreneurial Literacy on Entrepreneurial Behavior

This study aimed to determine the effect of economic literacy, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial literacy on entrepreneurial behavior for State High School Students in Surabaya. This study used quantitative research with population of class XI and XII students from several of all public schools in Surabaya. Sampling used purposive samples with 50 respondents. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests and used descriptive analysis techniques and multiple linear regression analysis with classical assumption test, namely normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test by using SPSS. The results of this study are (1) economic literacy, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial literacy had a simultaneous effect on entrepreneurial behavior with F-count of 29.925 F-table 2.73 and a significance of 0.000 0.05. (2) Economic literacy partially had a significant effect on the entrepreneurial behavior of public high school students in Surabaya. (3) Financial literacy did not partially affect the entrepreneurial behavior of State Senior High School students in Surabaya. (4) entrepreneurial literacy partially had a significant effect on the entrepreneurial behavior of state high school students in Surabaya. Based on the conclusions above, researchers provide suggestions in the form of support so that in the future students are able to manage finances wisely, students continue to deepen their knowledge of finance, economics and entrepreneurship from various sources so that they can improve entrepreneurial behavior and further researchers are expected to be able to develop similar research by adding other independent variables and adding moderating variables with the hope can provide more accurate results regarding entrepreneurial behavior.

The Knowledge of Non-Medical Individuals in Surabaya Regarding Basic Life Support

Background: Basic life support (BLS) is one of the keys to saving lives following a cardiac arrest and poor outcomes have been shown as the result of delayed BLS. Cardiac arrests more often occur outside of the hospital, making the first-responder layperson that was present at the scene the key to the success of the chain of survival. Knowledge is important in the learning process, thus for non-medical individuals to be able to give proper BLS, they need sufficient knowledge regarding BLS itself. Objectives: To assess the knowledge of non-medical individuals in Surabaya regarding BLS. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study using a questionnaire to assess the respondents’ knowledge regarding BLS. Results: For the high school students group, all questions need to be eliminated (p>0.05). While for the university students group, all questions can be kept and most of them scored 56.25%. For the workers group, some questions need to be eliminated (p>0.05) and when compared to the university students, there is no significant difference (p>0.05) between the two groups’ knowledge regarding the common questions. Conclusion: High school students in Surabaya do not have adequate knowledge regarding BLS. While the knowledge of non-medicaluniversity students in Surabaya regarding BLS is the highest among other groups of this research. As for the knowledge of non-medical workers in Surabaya regarding BLS, it is lower than university students, although there is no significant difference in both groups’ knowledge regarding cardiac arrest findings.

Mobile Learning “Asmeralda” for Teaching Static Fluid at Senior High Schools

This study applied Research and Development (R&D) method for developing a mobile learning media for teaching static fluid material, namely "Asmeralda" (Aplikasi Mobile Learning Fisika Fluida). This study aims to assess the feasibility of "Asmeralda" implemented in Physics class. In developing "Asmeralda", this study follows the ADDIE steps: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection used questionaries and interviews. The participants in this study consist of expert lecturers and senior high school students in Surabaya. The results show a positive response towards "Asmeralda" as mobile-based learning media for teaching static fluid. The average feasibility assessment according to expert lecturers as media validators: the material is 91% very feasible, the media is 92.8% very feasible, and the assessment is 91.7% very feasible. The media, according to students, is 92% feasible, 94% practical, and 90% effective. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the mobile-based learning media "Asmeralda" is feasible for teaching static fluid material at Senior High School. However, this conclusion is based on one case in one school in Surabaya. Further study in implementing Asmeralda and mobile learning is crucial for a better strategy in developing media-based computer information.

Sedentary Lifestyle and Overweight in Relation to the Risk of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Senior High School Students in Surabaya

Highlights:1. Most senior high school students live a sedentary lifestyle.2. Hyperinsulinemia and hyperandrogenism were related to an increased risk of PCOS in adolescents.3. Sedentary lifestyle and overweight were found to have a significant correlation with increased risk of PCOS in adolescents. AbstractIntroduction: Adolescent polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the endocrine and metabolic disorders characterized by oligomenorrhea and hyperandrogenism. A sedentary lifestyle in adolescence increases the risk of overweight and obesity. Being overweight may increase the risk of PCOS in adolescents by the mechanism of insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia, which affects the function of adrenal and ovarium androgen production. The increase of androgen has an important effect on PCOS. This study aimed to examine the relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and being overweight as the risk of PCOS in adolescents.Methods: This was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. This study was held at State Senior High School (SMAN) 5 Surabaya from February to April 2020. The sample of this research was chosen by random sampling of all female students in SMAN 5 Surabaya. The data were collected by direct measurement of student’s weight and height and a questionnaire consisting of Global Physical Activities Questionnaire, menstrual cycle, and Ferriman–Gallwey score. The students were stated at risk of PCOS if they had an abnormal uterine bleeding pattern and had Ferriman–Gallwey score ≥5. The data were analyzed using logistic regression analysis.Results: Of 82 students (100%), 32 students were overweight (39%), 5 students had obesity (6.1%), 44 students were performing a sedentary lifestyle (53.7%), 42 students had Ferriman–Gallwey score ≥5 (51.2%), 38 students had an abnormal uterine bleeding pattern (43.3%), and 35 students were at risk of PCOS (42.6%). Logistic regression analysis showed there was a significant relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and the risk of PCOS (p = 0.004) and a significant relationship between being overweight and the risk of PCOS (p < 0.001). People with a sedentary lifestyle have 6.3 folds higher risk of PCOS than normal people, and people with overweight have 16.2 folds higher risk of PCOS than normal people.Conclusion: Sedentary lifestyle and overweight have the role of increasing the risk of PCOS in adolescents.

Profile of Senior High School Students’ Critical Thinking Skills and The Need of Implementation PBL Model Assisted by Augmented Reality Book

Critical thinking skills of students in Indonesia are still very low, then one way to improve CTS is to collaborate learning with real-world problems that can be found in everyday life with the help of existing technology as a learning tool. The purpose of this research was to find out the profile of students' critical thinking skills and the implementation of problem based learning implementation with assisted augmented reality books in high schools, especially on learning physics with parabolic motion materials. The method research is included in preliminary research with a sample of 190 high school students in Surabaya, East Java. Data collection techniques by sharing critical thinking skills tests, student response surveys and interviews of students and teachers. Then the data is analyzed using qualitative descriptive to represent the results of the reserach. The findings of the study are 1) Students' critical thinking skills are still in the low category. 171 students with low categories, 19 medium categories and none at all high-category students; 2) The lowest indicator of critical thinking skills is interpretation; 3) Teachers still use conventional lecture methods and teaching materials during learning; 4) The implementation of problem-based learning models with integrated AR books is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills on physics materials. It can be concluded that to improve students' critical thinking skills, it is important to innovate learning, especially in physics learning, one of which is the implementation of Problem Based Learning assisted by Augmented Reality books.

Evaluasi Pembelajaran Akuntansi Dasar Usaha Dagang pada Siswa SMA ABC di Surabaya

Learning in basic accounting can generally be grouped as accounting for service companies and accounting for trading companies. Community service activities aim to evaluate the absorption of high school students regarding accounting material, especially in trading companies. This community service activity is carried out by providing online tutorials to ABC High School students in Surabaya, then the students answer the practice questions that have been prepared. The results of this community service activity show that high school students who get the results that the majority of students still have a lot to explore accounting material in trading companies. The results of the evaluation showed that the students had quite good understanding of general journals in trading companies, corrections journals, capital and profit calculations and understanding of the perpetual method. However, students still have difficulty understanding adjusting journals, COGS calculations and understanding the periodic method. Educators can still spur students' cognitive processes by implementing more effective learning so that learning objectives can be achieved.

High School Students’ Generalization Viewed from Logical-Mathematical Intelligence

Generalization is an important element in understanding, recognizing, and examining mathematical situations. Students' generalization processes can be analyzed according to Mason's four stages of the generalization process, including the perception, expression, symbolic expression, and manipulation of generality. One of the things that may cause differences in students' generalization processes is logical-mathematical intelligence. This research aims to describe high school students' generalization processes in terms of logical-mathematical intelligence. This research is using a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study consisted of 3 high school students in Surabaya with high, moderate, and low logical-mathematical intelligence. The data is obtained from the Logical-Mathematical Intelligence Questionnaire and Generalization Task. The material used in the Generalization Task is curved-face solid. The results of this study indicate that the student with low logical-mathematical intelligence has reached the stage of identifying patterns or regularity in the given information, but the student doesn't use those patterns to determine the next term. In other words, the student with low logical-mathematical intelligence has only reached the stage of perception of generality. The student with moderate logical-mathematical intelligence has reached the stage of identifying patterns or regularity in the given information and using those patterns to determine the next term but the student doesn’t reach the stage of formulating the general formula of the pattern that has been found. In other words, the student with moderate logical-mathematical intelligence has only reached the stage of perception and expression of generality. The student with high logical-mathematical intelligence has reached the stage of identifying patterns or regularity and used those patterns to determine the next term. In addition, the student with high logical-mathematical intelligence also reaches the stage of formulating general formulas of patterns that have been found and using the general formula to solve the given problem In other words, the student with high logical-mathematical intelligence has reached all the stages which is perception, expression, symbolic expression, and manipulation of generality.

PENGARUH PREOCCUPIED ATTACHMENT DAN AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING STYLE TERHADAP SELF-ESTEEM PADA REMAJA SMA DI SURABAYA

This study aimed to determine the effect of Preoccupied Attachment Style and Authoritarian Parenting Style on Self-Esteem in high school adolescents in Surabaya. This research was conducted with a correlational quantitative design. The subjects of this study were 121 high school students in Surabaya. The sampling technique used is non-probability incidental sampling with the Slovin formula. Retrieval of data using the State Self Esteem Scale (Heatherton & Polivy, 1991), Attachment Style Scale (Bartholomew & Horowitz, 1991), Parental Authority (Buri, 1991). These three scales were adapted to Indonesian. Data analysis in this study used simple regression analysis with JASP version 9.2 software. The results of the regression test showed that when tested together, preoccupied attachment and authoritarian parenting style had a significant effect on adolescent self-esteem, but if we examined the relationship between each variable, preoccupied attachment had a negative effect on self-esteem, while authoritarian parenting style had no effect on self-esteem.

Profile of Students’ Scientific Literacy in Physics Learning during COVID-19 Pandemic

Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic that is not optimal has an impact on students’ Scientific Literacy (SL). Facts in Indonesia, online learning has not been fully run optimally. In this case, teachers and students are still less adaptable to changes in learning methods. This certainly has an impact on aspects of students’ SL. The main objective is to analyze the initial level of students’ SL during COVID-19 pandemic. Research use 105 senior high school students in Surabaya. Based on the result we can conclude that the profile of students’ SL in Physics learning during COVID-19 pandemic is still at low category, that’s percentage are 28.38% (level 2). It’s means students can perform basic epistemic and procedural knowledge, contain knowledge in daily, basic procedural knowledge to give identification of scientific explanations, interpret scientific data, and draw conclusions from simple experimental data. The implication of this research can be used as empirical evidence stating that the SL of Senior High School students still need to be improved.

Virtual Classroom Critical Thinking as an Alternative Teaching Model to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills in Pandemic Coronavirus Disease Era

<p style="text-align:justify">Critical thinking skills are one of the thinking skills needed to live in the 21st century and the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study aims to develop a Virtual Classroom Critical Thinking (VC2T) Model, which is valid, practical, and effective to improve students' critical thinking skills. VC2T model has six steps: problem orientation, formulation, group discussion, analysis, result discussion, and reflection. This study is a Research & Development (R & D) involving 33 high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia. Before being tested, the VC2T Model was designed based on the theory of Plomp and Nieveen and then validated by 3 (three) experts in physics education. Data were analyzed using validity by experts, implementation of teaching with the VC2T Model, paired t-test, calculation of n-gain, effect size and percentage of student responses. The results showed that the VC2T Model is: (1) valid with an average validity score of 4.14 in the high validity category; (2) practical with an average score of implementations teaching of VC2T Model 4.26 in the outstanding category; and (3) effective as indicated by increasing of students' critical thinking skills scores which are statistically significant at alpha .05, the average n-gain is .38 in the medium category, the effect size of 6.93 is in a strong category and the average students' response is 87.59 % with outstanding category.</p>

THE EFFECT OF TAX LITERATION AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT ON TAX AWARENESS IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Taxes are a very important source of state revenue in supporting the country's development. State financing depends on tax revenue. Current tax revenue has not met the target, the sluggish Indonesian economy is the cause of not meeting the tax target. One of the efforts made by the government is to increase tax awareness where the Director General of Taxes implements one of the Tax Inclusion programs aimed at the younger generation, one of which is high school students. The given tax knowledge will encourage students to be positive and change the mindset of students so that they can produce positive tax behavior. This study uses two factors in measuring the tax awareness of high school students, namely tax literacy and social environment. The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the effect of tax literacy and the social environment on tax awareness among high school students in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The method used in sample selection is non-purposive sampling with a total sample of 398 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the tax literacy and social environment variables have an effect on tax awareness among high school students in Surabaya and Sidoarjo.

Health Literacy and Health Behavior: Associated Factors in Surabaya High School Students, Indonesia.

(1) Background: The health behavior (HB) of adolescents develops in the school or family setting and plays an important role in their future health status. Health literacy (HL) has been identified as an important factor in modifying health behavior in addition to socioeconomic factors. health-promoting school (HPS) programs also have a significant role in providing students with the means of learning the importance of knowledge, behavior, and skills for a healthy lifestyle. (2) Method: This study aims to identify the association between HB, HL measured in comprehensive health literacy (CHL) and functional health literacy (FHL), HPS programs, and socioeconomic factors among high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted, and 1066 students were evaluated as respondents. (3) Result: The results of multivariate analyses showed that following factors were associated with better health behavior: female, better academic performance, higher grade, higher father’s education, lower allowance, and better CHL and FHL. The strongest association for HB was gender. CHL was especially associated with handwashing, physical activity, and drug abuse. FHL was associated with smoking and drug abuse. The implementation of HPS programs did not reach an optimum level and only influenced physical activity. (4) Conclusions: The findings confirm that CHL and FHL have a significant association with several HBs. HB intervention in the HPS program is recommended to incorporate the CHL and FHL for a better health impact.

The role of knowledge, attitude, gender, and school grades in preventing drugs use: findings on students' intentions to participate in peer education program.

Background: Student groups are prone to drug abuse. The prevalence of drugs in the past year among high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia occupies the highest provincial capital (9.4%). The purpose of this study analyzed the relationship between knowledge about drugs, attitudes about peer education, gender, class, and students’ intention to participate in peer education programs in HEY (Health Educator for Youth) activities.Design and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with student participants (12-18 years) in six high schools in Surabaya, Indonesia (n=167). This study used an online survey to assess knowledge of drugs and students’ attitudes about HEY peer education activities.Results: More than half of the students have insufficient knowledge about drugs and have negative attitudes about peer education in HEY activities. This study also showed that students’ intention to participate in peer education was not influenced by the level of knowledge, student attitudes, and gender. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a relationship between class and student participation in peer education activities. This showed that the student’s factor regarding participation in peer education was a class category where the lower class is more motivated to participate.Conclusion: Most students have less knowledge about drugs and a negative attitude about peer education. However, the intention to participate in peer education activities is more thus it is necessary to improve the quality of peer educators through activities that are performed regularly by various relevant stakeholders. Significance for public health Drug abuse among high school students has reached an increasingly concerning number. This study aims to discover how well students’ knowledge regarding to drugs and their attitudes towards peer education activities in order to prevent drug abuse. Findings of the research indicate that many students' knowledge remain lacking and students' attitudes about peer education remain negative. Good knowledge about drugs is very important so that students do not fall into drug abuse. One of the factors related to students' intention to participate in peer education is class; students at lower-level classes had more free time to take part in peer education. Students who have the intention to participate in more peer education so that peer educator quality improvement and support from schools and related stakeholders are needed to create conditions for peer education that can work optimally in order to prevent drug abuse.

Senior high school students’ argumentation in proving mathematical induction based on mathematical abilities

Argumentation and proof are two interrelated elements in mathematics, which is one of the important goals in mathematics education. Furthermore, these also need to be supported by students' mathematical abilities, so that it has implications for proving they did. This qualitative research will be explained descriptively which aims to find out senior high school students' argumentation in proving mathematical induction. This research subjects consisted of six senior high school students in Surabaya who had low, medium, and high mathematical abilities. Research data were collected through a written test about proving mathematical induction. Then, the data analysis will be carried out, including: sorting the data, presenting the data, and making conclusions. The results shows that senior high school students who have medium and high mathematical abilities can proving mathematical induction which bring up claims, evidence, and reasoning in their argumentation. Meanwhile, senior high school students who have low mathematical abilities can proving mathematical induction which only bring up claims and evidence in their argumentation.
