Multi-Factor Evaluation of RHL Success in Neniari Village, Indonesia

General Background: Forest and land rehabilitation (RHL) is essential for addressing critical land conditions, aiming to transform unproductive lands into areas that can enhance community living standards through increased productivity. Specific Background: In Neniari Village, the RHL program has been implemented with mixed success, utilizing agroforestry systems and involving various species, including both timber and non-timber plants. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies often lack detailed analysis of the factors influencing RHL success at a community and ecological level. Aims: This study seeks to evaluate the overall success of the RHL program in Neniari Village by considering plant survival rates, environmental factors, and community participation. Results: The survival rate of plants averaged 70%, indicating a moderate level of rehabilitation success, which did not meet the targeted benchmarks. Novelty: This research uniquely combines biotic and abiotic factor analyses with community engagement levels to assess RHL outcomes. Penerapan Sistem E-Voting Dalam Pemilihan Kepala Desa Lito Kecamatan Paguyaman Pantai Kabupaten Boalemo Tahun 2019

<p>This research aims to discuss the application of the e-voting system in the election of the head of Lito village, Paguyaman Pantai District, Boalemo Regency in 2019. In this research the researcher used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where what was obtained was in accordance with the conditions that occurred in the field. or the data obtained is in accordance with what the community feels in selecting village heads using the e-voting system, data obtained through observation and direct interviews with informants for the sake of data accuracy in research. The object of this research is to measure the success of the e-voting system in the election of village heads, thus in the election of village heads through the e-voting system it has been running well, this can be seen from the high level of community participation in giving their voting rights. The factors that influence the implementation of the e-voting system are due to the lack of information from the implementing committee, so there are still many people who are not confident about the security of elections using the e-voting system. The conclusion in this research is that the implementation of the e-voting system in village head elections has gone well, while the influencing factor is a lack of information, so in the future socialization to the community must be intense so that the community believes in the level of security of the e-voting system.</p>

MODAL SOSIAL MASYARAKAT KECAMATAN BUNGURAN SELATAN DALAM PARTISIPASI POLITIK

This study aims to find out what capital the people of South Bunguran District have in political participation. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a discrete type of research. The results of the study show that the high level of community participation in politics in Bunguran Selatan District cannot be separated from three important aspects which are the social capital of the people in the District, such as the network aspect. Trust and norms, the mass media is one of the social assets of society in participating in politics. With the mass media, people are able to get to know the candidates who will fight in the democratic party. The existence of the mass media plays an important role in increasing public participation in politics. Aspects of trust is also one of the important aspects in politics. Public trust in political candidates greatly influences people's participation in politics. Social norms are benchmarks in participating to assess couples who will be a five-year extension of society who will air their grievances. Factors such as personality are still the main capital of candidates in attracting public participation. Even though there are three aspects of social capital in society in politics, the practice of money politics still haunts the people in the sub-district in making choices in politics.

Implementing community based inclusive development for people with disability in Latin America: a mixed methods perspective on prioritized needs and lessons learned

BackgroundResearch on the needs of people with disability is scarce, which promotes inadequate programs. Community Based Inclusive Development interventions aim to promote rights but demand a high level of community participation. This study aimed to identify prioritized needs as well as lessons learned for successful project implementation in different Latin American communities.MethodsThis study was based on a Community Based Inclusive Development project conducted from 2018 to 2021 led by a Columbian team in Columbia, Brazil and Bolivia. Within a sequential mixed methods design, we first retrospectively analyzed the project baseline data and then conducted Focus Group Discussions, together with ratings of community participation levels. Quantitative descriptive and between group analysis of the baseline survey were used to identify and compare sociodemographic characteristics and prioritized needs of participating communities. We conducted qualitative thematic analysis on Focus Group Discussions, using deductive main categories for triangulation: 1) prioritized needs and 2) lessons learned, with subcategories project impact, facilitators, barriers and community participation. Community participation was assessed via spidergrams. Key findings were compared with triangulation protocols.ResultsA total of 348 people with disability from 6 urban settings participated in the baseline survey, with a mean age of 37.6 years (SD 23.8). Out of these, 18 participated within the four Focus Group Discussions. Less than half of the survey participants were able to read and calculate (42.0%) and reported knowledge on health care routes (46.0%). Unemployment (87.9%) and inadequate housing (57.8%) were other prioritized needs across countries. Focus Group Discussions revealed needs within health, education, livelihood, social and empowerment domains.Participants highlighted positive project impact in work inclusion, self-esteem and ability for self-advocacy. Facilitators included individual leadership, community networks and previous reputation of participating organizations. Barriers against successful project implementation were inadequate contextualization, lack of resources and on-site support, mostly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The overall level of community participation was high (mean score 4.0/5) with lower levels in Brazil (3.8/5) and Bolivia (3.2/5).ConclusionPeople with disability still face significant needs. Community Based Inclusive Development can initiate positive changes, but adequate contextualization and on-site support should be assured.

Reducing inequities in maternal and child health in rural Guatemala through the CBIO+ Approach of Curamericas: 9. Key stakeholder perspectives on strengthening the CBIO+ Approach

BackgroundCommunity-based health interventions have been an integral part of recent health gains globally. An innovative approach to delivering community health care combines the Census-Based, Impact-Oriented (CBIO) Approach with Care Groups and Community Birthing Centers called Casas Maternas Rurales. CBIO+ was adopted by Curamericas/Guatemala in its Maternal and Child Health Project, 2011–2015. Here, we describe the opinions of Project staff and local government health care workers about the strengths and challenges of CBIO+. MethodsSelf-administered questionnaires, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions were used to obtain the views of 21 staff members from Curamericas/Guatemala as well as 15 local government health workers. The evaluation focused on four primary areas: (1) advisability of integrating the CBIO+ Approach into the government’s rural health system, (2) staff knowledge of the CBIO+ Approach, (3) advantages, disadvantages and challenges of the CBIO+ Approach, and (4) proposed improvements to the CBIO+ Approach. The data were coded into categories and from these categories themes were derived.ResultsThe most commonly mentioned advantage of CBIO+ was the inclusion of the community in program planning, which improved participation. Many respondents noted that the CBIO+ Approach was challenging to implement in communities with internal conflicts. Among other challenges mentioned were coordinating (both among the Project staff and with others in the communities), maintenance of a high level of community participation, and overcoming opposition of men to women’s participation in Care Groups. The staff mentioned a number of possible changes, including increasing male involvement, raising salaries for community-level paid staff, providing volunteers with incentives, and improving coordination both internally and externally. There was a strong demand among the local Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare staff for the Project to continue.ConclusionThe CBIO+ Approach and its implementation by Curamericas/Guatemala was overall embraced by local staff. By eliciting feedback while the project was ongoing, actionable areas for improvement were identified.

Memory Self-Efficacy and Community Participation

Objective: This study examines the relationships between working memory, memory self-efficacy (MSE), and community participation among older adults. Method: 203 United States older adults (age 55+) were recruited through MTurk to complete surveys and a memory task. A multiple linear regression was used to regress MSE and community participation. Main Findings: Entering all variables into the model explained 45% of the variance in community participation (R2 = .45, Adj. R2 = .41, F(7, 141) T = 16.26, p < .001). MSE was positively related to community participation (β = .38, p < .001), as predicted. However, contrary to hypotheses, worse working memory (β = -.22, p = .001) and greater difficulty remembering/concentrating (β = .26, p < .001) predicted higher levels of community participation. Conclusions: It is reasonable to conclude that one’s beliefs about their memory ability is an important consideration when one chooses to engage in community events. Efektifitas PerPPU No 2 Tahun 2020 Tentang Pilkada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 di Kabupaten Pemalang dan Kabupaten Pekalongan

The general election for regional heads and deputy regional heads, or often called Pilkada or Pemilukada, is an embodiment of democratic instruments in order to create a democratic government, as many as 270 regions in Indonesia held simultaneous elections in 2020 in the Covid-19 pandemic. implemented on 23 September 2020 was postponed to 9 December 2020 in accordance with Perppu No. 2 of 2020. This concept contains the issue of how effectively the implementation of Perppu No. 2 of 2020 in the 2020 pilkada in Kab. Pemalang and Kab. Pekalongan. Where this process makes it a challenge for organizers and voters to realize a high level of community participation. This continues to be developed regarding the implementation of the next regional election during the pandemic. Then it is explained about how the comparison of the 2020 regional elections in Kab. Pemalang and Kab. Pekalongan. This type of research is qualitative research through field research using a juridical-empirical approach, which produces analytical descriptive data. This research took place at the KPU Kab. Pemalang and Regency KPU. Pekalongan, which is one of the regencies that participated in the 2020 Pilkada during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of Perppu No. 2 of 2020 in Pemalang Regency and Pekalongan Regency and to find out the comparison in these districts in the election of regents and deputy regents in 2017. 2020. Community participation in a low-income neighborhood: The salience of sociodemographic characteristics, perceptions and experience of violence, and neighborhood attachment.

While community participation may serve as a vehicle to improve health and socioeconomic outcomes for residents in poor communities, little research exists on the individual factors that influence community participation, particularly in contexts where violence is exceptionally high. This study examined the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics, perceptions, and experiences of violence, neighborhood attachment, and community participation in a low-income, under-resourced neighborhood in Johannesburg South Africa. The study used baseline data from 300 randomly selected households and multiple linear regression to assess the relationship between individual factors and community participation. The results suggest a high level of community participation, with religious organizational membership the most common. Being female, employed, and fear of violent crime were positively associated with community participation. Future research should include mixed methods and transdisciplinary research approaches for building our understandings of social justice and transformation-oriented community participation.

Analisis Kinerja Keuangan APBDes Saat Pandemi

APBDes is the village government's yearly financial plan, which cover revenue, expenditures, and finance to support village development initiatives. The purpose of this study was to determine the financial performance of the APBDes in Gumuk Rejo Village in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and independence during the pandemic. This research method is a quantitative research technique with a descriptive approach was employed with a population of 2,064 participants. The sampling approach employs the Isaac & Michael formula, with a total sample size of 323 participants. The data was gathered via a questionnaire, which was sent to respondents via social media. The index analysis approach was employed in the data analysis technique. According to the findings of this study, the Gumuk Rejo APBDes' financial performance is efficient, quite effective, and has high independence. Efficient occurs because the village government can provide easy access to village financial reports for users and there is a high level of community participation in village deliberations, it is quite effective because the distribution of information acquisition regarding the implementation of village fund programs funded from the APBDes used is still low, and it is highly independent because the village fund budget used is right on target distribution.

Sinkronisasi Perencanaan Tata Ruang Daerah dengan Pembangunan Jalan Tol Berbasis Sustainable Development

This study describes the synchronization of spatial planning with the construction of toll road-based sustainable development in the Area of Interchange Tol Madiun. Aimed to explore the information from some source: BAPPEDA Kabupaten Madiun, Dinas PUPR Kabupaten Madiun, Office of the Bagi Village, and Communities around the Interchange Tol Madiun. The results showed that; first, the synchronization of spatial planning with the construction of the Madiun toll road not fully following the RT/RW (community association) plan and unable to be categorized as ideal planning. The application of the participation has been running well, but there is still a discrepancy on the principle of continuity and holistically. Second, the implementation of Sustainable Development in the construction of the toll road is not running balance between economic development, social and environmental. Supporting factor form is the strong legal basis and the high level of community participation. Inhibiting factors in the form of rationalization of the budget because of the pandemic Covid19 and the lack of personals resource that is pure has graduated in spatial studies.

MODIFICATION OF THEORY OF PLANNED BEHAVIOR TO MEASURE THE INTENTIONS AND BEHAVIOR OF PEOPLES PARTICIPATION IN THE WASTE BANK PROGRAM (CASE: BANTUL REGENCY)

Waste is an environmental problem that hasn’t been resolved until now. This problem can be overcome with the waste bank program. The success of the waste bank is supported by the high level of community participation. Currently, the level of community participation in Bantul Regency is still low, which is below 50%. The purpose of this research is to investigates what factors that can increase people’s intention and behavior of participating in waste bank activities at Bantul Regency. This research using factors from Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) model. Besides of factors from Theory of Planned Behavior this research added other factors like knowledge of how and what, knowledge of the consequences and situational factors used as a measurement tools. The research used 300 samples. The target respondents for this research are members who actively participate in the waste bank activities. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, regression analysis methods is using on this research. The analysis results showed that attitudes, subjective norms, knowledge of how and what, knowledge of consequence and situational factor have a significant effect on the people’s intention to participate in the waste bank programs. Meanwhile the perceived control behavior variable has no significant effect on the people’s intention to participate in the waste bank program. All the factors togethers can explain the intention of 44.7%.

Do state supports for persons with brain injury affect outcomes in the 5Years following acute rehabilitation?

While a substantial literature has examined the effects of individual and family-level factors on outcomes following traumatic brain injury (TBI), minimal attention has been directed to the potential influence of the larger environmental context on outcomes. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effects of state-level resources and supports as an environmental factor influencing long-term outcomes from TBI using data from the TBI Model Systems. We examined the effects of U.S. state supports that specifically target people with TBI (federal funding for state brain injury programs, per capita revenue generated by brain injury trust funds, and expenditures for brain injury specific Medicaid waivers) and one measure of the relative quality of a state's Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) for all people with disabilities. The primary hypothesis was that community participation, global functioning, and life satisfaction will be higher on average among people with TBI living in states with more brain injury specific programs and resources and better LTSS. The results of multilevel and fixed-effects modeling indicated that state supports have a small but significant impact on participation and life satisfaction. The most consistent finding indicated that states with better LTSS had higher levels of community participation and life satisfaction on average for people with TBI over and above individual-level differences and fluctuations in these outcomes over time. There was some indication that more brain injury specific supports also result in better participation in the community. These findings deserve replication and extension to include other environmental factors, particularly community level characteristics, that might affect outcomes from TBI.

Community Participation and Subjective Wellbeing: Mediating Roles of Basic Psychological Needs Among Chinese Retirees.

Objectives: Participation in various social organizations, including community organizations, has become an important part of later year. The current study examined the effects of community participation on subjective wellbeing (SWB) and mediating mechanisms among retired residents. Specifically, this study attempts to explain the link between community participation and SWB from the perspective of basic psychological needs (BPN).Methods: A total of 1,458 community-dwelling retirees aged ≥50years in China participated in this study. A self-developed questionnaire measured the general levels of community participation. BPN were assessed with the BPN Scale. SWB was represented by life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect.Results: Community participation positively predicted one’s SWB. Specifically, retirees with a higher levels of community participation often indicated higher life satisfaction and positive affect, and lower negative affect. Three BPN, which consist of needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness, mediated the effect of community participation on SWB, respectively, after controlling for some main demographic and socioeconomic factors.Conclusion: The BPN perspective provides a comprehensive explanation for understanding the link between community participation and SWB. Policymakers should consider the role of community participation when developing measures to improve retirees’ quality of life.

Community Participation by People with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Little is known regarding community participation in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The aim of this study was to explore community participation in individuals with COPD and to determine whether there is an association between community participation and activity-related outcome variables commonly collected during pulmonary rehabilitation assessment. We also sought to investigate which of these variables might influence community participation in people with COPD. Ninety-nine individuals with COPD were enrolled (67 ± 9 years, FEV1: 55 ± 22% predicted). We assessed community participation (Community Participation Indicator (CPI) and European Social Survey (ESS) for formal and informal community participation), daily physical activity levels (activity monitor), exercise capacity (6-minute walk test), breathlessness (Modified Medical Research Council, MMRC scale), self-efficacy (Pulmonary Rehabilitation Adapted Index of Self-Efficacy) and anxiety and depression (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale). Higher levels of community participation on the CPI were associated with older age and greater levels of physical activity (total, light and moderate-to-vigorous) (all rs = 0.30, p < 0.05). Older age and more moderate-to-vigorous physical activity independently predicted greater community participation measured by CPI. Higher levels of depression symptoms were associated with less formal and informal community participation on ESS (rs = –0.25). More formal community participation on ESS was weakly (rs = 0.2–0.3) associated with older age, better lung function, exercise capacity and self-efficacy, and less breathlessness. Self-efficacy, exercise capacity, and age independently predicted formal community participation in individuals with COPD. Strategies to optimize self-efficacy and improve exercise capacity may be useful to enhance community participation in people with COPD.

Posyandu During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Diversification and Participation

This paper explains the participation of mothers, toddlers and the elders in Posyandu activities, and the diversification of posyandu cadre service strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the COVID-19 pandemic mothers, toddlers and elders people actively participate in every posyandu activity in Kampung Kagungan Rahayu, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province. This high participation is due to posyandu cadres who understand their role in realizing basic health services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, posyandu was held with attention to developments in the COVID-19 case. Based on this, posyandu cadres play an active role in diversifying service strategies so that participation of mothers, infants and elders remains high. The diversification strategies include the first posyandu cadres tidy up data on the health development of mothers, toddlers and elders. Second, posyandu cadres visit mothers, toddlers and elders directly from door to door by observing health protocols. Third, the cadres hold posyandu activities at the auxiliary puskesmas (pustu) in waves or in turns. Fourth, they also conducted direct monitoring and evaluation of services during the pandemic by telephone between the posyandu cadre leaders. We contend that the diversification of the service strategy has an impact on the high level of community participation in accessing posyandu during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sacrificial Worship (Qurban) Motivation Determinant Factors of Tuatunu Population in Pangkalpinang City

This article intends to find an answer to the high level of community participation in Tuatunu Urban Village in the City of Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the sacrificial worship (qurban) motivation during the Eid al-Adha feast day. Tuatunu Urban Village only has a population of approximately 9,000 inhabitants and the average livelihood of its inhabitants is as pepper, rubber, and pineapple farmer. But in Eid al-Adha 2019, the level of participation of the people who follow the sacrificial worship from the five mosques in this area is highest when compared to the seven sub-districts in the Municipality of Pangkalpinang. Tuatunu Urban Village sacrifices approximately 32 cows at Eid al-Adha 2019, where seven people bear one cow. This urban village celebrates Eid al-Adha like Eid al-Fitr where residents visit each other's neighbors. This article is the result of quantitative research with the dependent variable is a sacrificial worship motivation and the independent variables are religiosity, generosity, avoid harm, and social status. This study found that the variables that influence the motivation to sacrificial worship the people of Tuatunu Urban Village are the factors of religiosity, social status, and avoid harm while the elements of generosity do not significantly influence the motivation to sacrifice.

This study tries to explain the steps or efforts undertaken by the Batu City Election Commission in increasing the political participation of the people of Batu City who have held the election of the Governor and Deputy Governor in 2018. Batu City has a high level of community participation in the regional head election especially PILGUB, the low level of participation in Kota Batu is the reason why the party for democracy is hampered.

Finding a pathway and making it strong: Learning from Yolŋu about meaningful health education in a remote Indigenous Australian context.

Access to meaningful health information is limited in remote regions of Australia where Indigenous languages and culture are strong but the prevalence of chronic conditions is extremely high. This qualitative study aimed to support and understand the evolution of an educational approach to improve communication about chronic conditions for Yolŋu (Aboriginal people of Northeast Arnhem Land). Within a culturally responsive research design, data were gathered through participant observation and semi-structured interviews with educators and community members. An iterative and continuous process of data collection and inductive analysis, exploring key elements of the process as it evolved, supported the Project Team to modify and refine their approach as the project progressed. A high level of community participation and control was a critical element of the project. Collaboration between Yolŋu educators and community experts, with culturally competent support from others, enabled Yolŋu to share health information in ways that could not be achieved by outsiders. Yolŋu and biomedical knowledges were integrated to build and share meaningful, in-depth (not simplified or directive) oral explanations in local languages using culturally responsive communication processes. The urgent need for ongoing, sufficient and meaningful health education was a consistent and recurring theme in this context where chronic conditions are having a devastating impact. Sustained and equitable access to meaningful information, using a culturally responsive approach led by community educators, is crucial to improve health literacy and to enable genuinely informed decisions in prevention and management of chronic conditions. Long-term funding is needed to support ongoing programs. These findings may have relevance for others who do not share the culture and language of the majority population. SO WHAT?: Equity of access to meaningful health information through sustained support for community-led education processes is essential to improve First Nations health outcomes.

Integration of Health Sector in Efforts to Improve The Health of Older People in RW VII Jagir Surabaya

Background: The older people get, the more elderly people who experience health complaints. The elderly morbidity rate in 2014 was 25.05 percent, meaning that around one in four elderly people had experienced pain in the past month. Purpose: Providing guidance and knowledge to improve the health of the elderly community in RW VII Jagir. Methods: Coaching is carried out by using a tutorial and visualization method using LCD. The material provided includes the processing of healthy foods, the introduction of traditional medicine, independent acupressure, healthy work attitudes in the household, dental and oral health, and medical check up. Results: The people who attended this activity were 65 people, according to the expected target. The community welcomed with enthusiasm, as evidenced by a large number of people present and the high level of community participation until the end of the event. In addition, there was also an increase in the mean value of the questionnaire before and after the activity, from 15.62 to 36.14. The results of 55 participants who did blood pressure checks, 28 people had normal blood pressure and 27 people experienced blood pressure that was more than normal. Likewise, the results of blood sugar tests when, of the 55 people who took blood sugar at their time, 43 had normal blood sugar levels or less than 200 mg / dL; and 12 people have blood sugar levels that are above normal or &gt; 200 mg / dL. Conclusion: Community service activities are very useful for the elderly and also able to increase the knowledge of the elderly.

PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PENGEMBANGAN DESA WISATA DENGAN KONSEP CBT (COMMUNITY BASED TOURISM) DI DESA LABUAN PANDAN

Tourism is one of the promising business sectors, if local people can see well the potential available around their neighborhood. With the position of the country of Indonesia which is located on the equator which causes diverse types of flora and fauna, as well as the archipelago's topography providing a stretch of both coastal and cultural diversity available, it is no wonder that tourism opportunities are still wide open to be developed. Labuan Pandan Village is a coastal village with 2 (two) dykes in the east, so that it becomes a magnet for tourists who want to see first hand the beauty of coral reefs and mangrove ecosystems. Tourism stretching has begun to be seen in the activity of tourism activists who joined a community called KOMPAK (Labuan Pandan Kreatif Youth Community). The concept of CBT (Community Based Tourism) has been started by the KOMPAK community since 2017 and of course since then the people in Labuan Pandan Village are involved in the tour activities. This study aims (1) To examine the process of empowering local communities with the concept of CBT (Community Based Tourism), (2) Constraints faced by the community in conducting tourism activities with the concept of CBT (Community Based Tourism) in Labuan Pandan Village. This research method uses descriptive method with a qualitative approach; the data used are primary and secondary. Primary data obtained from interviews and observations. The results showed that: (1) Community empowerment activities through village tourism with the concept of CBT (Community Based Tourism) went very well. This is indicated by the high level of community participation in existing tourism activities. This includes preparing accommodation, culinary, cultural arts performances and participating in educational learning activities (Educational Tourism), (2) Constraints faced by the community, that is, they have not mastered fluent foreign languages, so that they are quite inhibiting information disclosure.
