The Value of The Traditional Banjar Game 'Bahagaan'

The purpose of this writing is to describe the implementation of the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan', and describe the value of the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan' Martapura. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Validity of research data by extending observations, triangulation and conducting member checks. The game 'bahagaan' is a traditional game of the Banjar people which has begun to be forgotten but some people still know about it. This game consists of two teams competing against each other, namely the attacking team and the guard team and each team must have a minimum of 3 people. This game is very easy to play and does not require a lot of tools, just use twigs to line the sandy field and shoes if the field is made of cement. Preparing the team by 'umpimpah' and 'basiun'. The field is made square with a length and width of approximately 5 meters for playing. Children are able to show hard work, discipline, communication and friendship. The values that are visible from the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan' are religious values, honest values, communicative/friendly values, hard work values, discipline values, responsibility values and the value of respecting achievements.

Evaluating the Effect of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Strain Shirota on the Physical Consistency of Stool in Healthy Participants with Hard or Lumpy Stools: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study.

We have earlier established a direct measurement method for assessing stool physical consistency using a texture analyzer (TAXT). The present study aimed to evaluate the stool softening effect of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strain Shirota (LcS) using TAXT in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. Sixty-four healthy participants with a Bristol stool form scale (BSFS) 1/2 ≥ 50% during screening consumed fermented milk containing LcS or a placebo beverage daily for 8 weeks. Stool consistency and water content were determined using TAXT and a lyophilizer, respectively. Participants evaluated their defecation using the BSFS. Stool consistency evaluated by a texture analyzer (TAXT) in the LcS group tended to be softer than that in the placebo group (p = 0.052). Subgroup analyses (TAXT value at baseline ≥ 4.5) showed that stool consistency was significantly softer in the LcS group (p = 0.014). Stool water content was also significantly higher in the LcS group than in the placebo group, but the proportion of normal stools was not statistically significant. We were unable to find evidence for the softening effect of LcS under the present study's conditions. However, its efficacy may be confirmed by targeting participants with physically hard stools and TAXT values ≥ 4.5.

Establishment of Cephalometric Hard Tissue Profile among Bengali and Caucasian Populations for Orthognathic Surgery

ABSTRACT The study aimed to compare cephalometric hard tissue profile values and analysis between Bengali and Caucasian populations. The study included 100 individuals (50 males, 50 females) aged 18–35. Subjects having class I molar occlusions and well-balanced facial profiles were included in the study. Lateral cephalograms were taken with consent, and a prestructured proforma recorded relevant information and cephalometric measurements. Our study found increased posterior cranial base length in Bengali males and increased anterior cranial base length in both sexes. Bengali males had a less convex profile, while females had a more convex profile compared to Caucasians with similar mandibular features. Increased maxillary and mandibular incisor proclination was observed. Our findings indicate the necessity for separate norms for orthognathic surgery in normal ethnic Bengali adults.

Artificial intelligence as a prediction tool for orthognathic surgery assessment.

An ideal orthodontic treatment involves qualitative and quantitative measurements of dental and skeletal components to evaluate patients' discrepancies, such as facial, occlusal, and functional characteristics. Deciding between orthodontics and orthognathic surgery remains challenging, especially in borderline patients. Advances in technology are aiding clinical decisions in orthodontics. The increasing availability of data and the era of big data enable the use of artificial intelligence to guide clinicians' diagnoses. This study aims to test the capacity of different machine learning (ML) models to predict whether orthognathic surgery or orthodontics treatment is required, using soft and hard tissue cephalometric values. A total of 920 lateral radiographs from patients previously treated with either conventional orthodontics or in combination with orthognathic surgery were used, comprising n = 558 Class II and n = 362 Class III patients, respectively. Thirty-two measures were obtained from each cephalogram at the initial appointment. The subjects were randomly divided into training (n = 552), validation (n = 183), and test (n = 185) datasets, both as an entire sample and divided into Class II and Class III sub-groups. The extracted data were evaluated using 10 machine learning models and by a four-expert panel consisting of orthodontists (n = 2) and surgeons (n = 2). The combined prediction of 10 models showed top-ranked performance in the testing dataset for accuracy, F1-score, and AUC (entire sample: 0.707, 0.706, 0.791; Class II: 0.759, 0.758, 0.824; Class III: 0.822, 0.807, 0.89). The proposed combined 10 ML approach model accurately predicted the need for orthognathic surgery, showing better performance in Class III patients.

Diagnostic value of multimodal ultrasonographic techniques in evaluation of lymphadenopathy in the neck

Background Recent ultrasound (US) imaging techniques, including high-resolution gray-scale, color, power, pulsed Doppler, and strain sono-elastography, are recent modes for US evaluation. Aim This prospective study aimed to review the value of the recent US modes in differentiating causes of lymph node enlargement in benign and malignant conditions. Patients and methods The study included 30 patients with enlarged cervical lymph nodes throughout the period from August 2022 to September 2023. Multimodal US techniques were used for all cases. Results In benign lesions, the lymph node size was taken. The shape index range was 0.31–0.66 with a mean=0.48 ± 0.9. Using Doppler US, they showed elevated hilar flow without peripheral vascularity. Using elastography, these nodes gave soft strain values range=0.60–1.00 with a mean=0.80 ± 0.2. In malignant lesions, the lymph node shape index range=0.55–0.81 with a mean=0.68 ± 0.4. Using Doppler, the nodes showed increased vascularity in most patients and avascular nodes in others. Using elastography, these nodes gave hard strain values with a range=1.70–11.75 and a mean=4.70 ± 5.0. Conclusion The use of multimodal US imaging (gray scale, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, power Doppler, and elastography), in addition to the clinical history of the disease, differentiates benign from malignant causes of lymph nodes enlargement and are useful in selecting the lymph node for fine-needle aspiration cytology or biopsy.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training toward Sustainable Development of Japan’s Aid Effectiveness for Industrial Human Resource Development in Lower Mekong Basin Countries

The Official Development Assistance (ODA) is Japan’s salient foreign policy in the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB) Country, especially for industrial human resource development. Japan has established KOSEN, a Japanese engineering vocational education system in the region to promote the industrial acceleration agenda and the region’s economic, social development, and poverty reduction toward the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, ODA is about more than giving and receiving; it is about actors and administration, including the vis-à-vis mutual benefit for both donor and recipient country, which becomes a debatable issue. This research intends to shed light on the efficacy of Japanese ODA toward LMB by applying the principles of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005) and its impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) attainment. A qualitative technique with a deductive approach was used to analyze the efficiency of Japan’s aid for KOSEN, including an in-depth interview with a purposive sampling technique of three key informants in this study. The study showed that the donor country predominantly adheres to the assistance ownership concept. Nonetheless, developing the KOSEN system as an assistance program in the area can contribute to the SDGs as hard tool mechanisms and KOSEN values as a soft mechanism related to the 2012 Global Agenda for Greening TVET.

Analisis Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Novel Kado Terbaik Karya JS Khairen

Abstract The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S Khairen. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with content analysis method. The data source of this research is the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S Khairen. The data collection technique is reading and writing technique. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, there are character values contained in the novel Kado Terbaik by J. S Khairen, including 6 excerpts. S Khairen, among others, 6 snippets of religious values that illustrate the character's adherence to religious teachings, 4 snippets of honest values that illustrate the character's honesty through words and actions, 1 snippet of tolerance values reflected in the attitude of the characters who show mutual respect despite differences in social status, 3 snippets of hard work values described through Rizki's character who tries to fulfill his own needs, 1 snippet of independent values reflected through Rizki's character who lives alone without depending on others. 4 snippets of curiosity values, 4 snippets of curiosity value reflected in the conversation between the characters, 1 excerpt of the value of respect for achievement reflected in the actions of Bang Toron's character, 3 snippets of friendly/communicative value reflected in the relationship between Rizka, Singlet, and Gembil, 2 snippets of peace-loving value reflected in the actions of Rani's father, 6 snippets of social care value reflected in the actions of the characters, and 2 snippets of responsibility value shown by Rizki's character. Angles between the Magnetic Moment and the Rotation Axis in Radio Pulsars with Hard Emission

We have performed a comparative analysis of the angles β between the rotation axis and themagnetic moment in three groups of radio pulsars: sources inwhich only radio emission is observed, pulsarswith detected X-ray emission, and radio-loud gamma-ray pulsars. For this purpose, we have calculated thevalues of the angle β separately for objects from each group by two differentmethods. It has turned out thatin pulsars with hard emission themean values of this angle (28.2◦ and 28.8◦) are greater than those for quietradio pulsars (12.9◦). However, using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, we have shown that the revealeddifference is insignificant with a high probability. Consequently, the structures of the magnetospheres in thethree groups of pulsars considered do not differ greatly, while their difference is attributable to the magneticfield strength on the light cylinder that switches on the hard nonthermal emission mechanism in pulsarswith detected X-ray and/or gamma-ray emission but is not enough for this in quiet radio pulsars in thehard ranges.

PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER BERBASIS BUDAYA LOKAL “ RORI LAKO” PADA PEMBELAJARAN DI SEKOLAH DASAR

The problem of this research is how is the rori lako tradition in relation to observing the relationship of cultural values ​​of local wisdom to character education in elementary social studies learning?. The type of research conducted is qualitative research. The location of this research was carried out in Loa Village, Soa District. Informants taken in this study, namely 1 traditional elder as key information, 1 social studies learning teacher and 1 community leader were designated as supporting information. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and observation. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the value of the rori lako tradition in relation to the cultural values ​​of local wisdom on character education in social studies learning, which occurred in Loa Village is character education and the cultural values ​​of local wisdom actually both aim to instill values noble values ​​that will produce good human beings in the future. Therefore, character education based on the cultural values ​​of local wisdom is very appropriate to be applied in the social studies learning process. The results of the study found the cultural values ​​of local wisdom in social studies learning, including religious values, hard work values, and mutual cooperation values.

An Analysis of Character Values in the Folklore of Bangka Belitung Paga and Si Penyumpit

This study aimed to describe the character values contained in Bangka Belitung’s folklore. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research was the Miles and Huberman method, namely data reduction analysis, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The data in this study were in the form of quotations that identify character values in the folklore book. The data source of this study was a story entitled Paga and Si Prnyumpit, which is contained in the Bangka Belitung folklore book by Sarman and Dwi Oktarina published by Azzagrafika in 2017. In this study, two Bangka Belitung folktales were analyzed, namely the story of Paga and Si Penyumpit. The results of the analysis in the Paga story are sentences that contain character values, namely 2 values of hard work character value, 1 value of social care character value, and 1 value of friendly character value. Furthermore, the story of Si Penyumpit contains sentences that contain character values, namely the character value of responsibility as much as 1 value, the value of social care character as much as 2 values, and the value of a peace-loving character as much as 1 value.

Proving geometry theorems: Student prospective teachers’ perseverance and mathematical reasoning

Proof of geometry is a topic that involves mathematical reasoning abilities and relates to perseverance involving hard work, the spirit of achievement, and self-confidence. The current important problem that occurs at this time is that students who are future teachers of mathematics still experience difficulties in compiling proofs, especially those who are not challenged to work hard. This qualitative research explores mathematics teacher candidates' reasoning abilities and perseverance in proving geometric theorems. Therefore, the research design used a case study. There were three participants in this study, and they were student prospective mathematics teachers' s taking geometry courses. Data were collected through working documents, open questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews and were analyzed using iterative techniques consisting of data condensation, data exposure, and verification. The study's results showed that students' prospective teachers did not prioritize proof in solving geometry problems, even though they worked hard to solve the problems independently until they were finished. The students' perseverance also impacts their mathematical reasoning in proving geometric theorems. Students with more hard work values tend to have more reasoning values. The results of this study have implications that there needs to be an effort from the teacher to get used to giving proof questions to support students' perseverance and mathematical reasoning abilities.

“One’s Social Skills Go to the Dogs”

Youths who are socially isolated are largely inaccessible to social work professionals; nevertheless, most are active on social media. Feeling they have been let down by society, many such youths seek comfort in imageboards, where the idea of being anti-social is cherished and where even extremism and hate speech is tolerated. This study relies on a thematic analysis of 323 imageboard messages to identify the challenges socially withdrawn youths perceive as excluding them from society. We use the capability approach as our viewpoint, emphasizing the youths’ actual capabilities to join in, as opposed to the opportunities seemingly provided by society. Our results resonate with the earlier research: Many members of the group labeled ‘withdrawn youth’ suffer from neuropsychological and mental health problems, fear social situations, experience a sense of shame and failure, and harbor bitterness toward society. They consider issues including unsuitable services, the onerous demands imposed by working life, and the hard values prevalent in society to restrict their opportunities to participate in that society and undermine their self-respect. Fear and negative experiences prevent socially withdrawn people from approaching social workers. Accordingly, we recommend social services keep an open mind on using digital options to reach people beyond the conventional service system.

Online Planning for Constrained POMDPs with Continuous Spaces through Dual Ascent

Rather than augmenting rewards with penalties for undesired behavior, Constrained Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes (CPOMDPs) plan safely by imposing inviolable hard constraint value budgets. Previous work performing online planning for CPOMDPs has only been applied to discrete action and observation spaces. In this work, we propose algorithms for online CPOMDP planning for continuous state, action, and observation spaces by combining dual ascent with progressive widening. We empirically compare the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms on continuous CPOMDPs that model both toy and real-world safety-critical problems. Additionally, we compare against the use of online solvers for continuous unconstrained POMDPs that scalarize cost constraints into rewards and highlight the limitations of the default exploration scheme.

The character education of the novel “Rantau 1 Muara”

This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with analytical techniques. The research object used is the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi. This research focuses on researching the values of character education which include religious values, honesty, hard work, creativity, curiosity, love of the motherland, respect for friendship, friendship/communicative, fond of reading, and social care. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of researchers reading, understanding, determining each element of the novel intrinsic and extrinsic. Then the researcher determines every statement from the characters contained in the novel and then analyzes it and applies it in learning literature in high school. The results of this study can be concluded that there are 77 value statements of character education which are divided into 7 religious values, 5 honest values, 8 hard work values, 6 creative values, 4 curiosity values, 8 love the country values, 5 respect achievement values, 21 values friendly/communicative, 6 values fond of reading, and 7 values social care. In this study, friendly/communicative values dominate, this has been proven by the many algorithms that refer to these values.

ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER ANTARA NOVEL LASKAR PELANGI DENGAN NOVEL 9 SUMMER 10 AUTUMNS

This study aims to examine the comparison of character education values between the novel Laskar Pelangi and the novel 9 Summer 10 Autumns. The research uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. Data collection was carried out using test instruments. The results of this study show that the two novels have similar plots and show that the two novels both tell about struggles from childhood to adulthood to achieve their dreams. Both novels also share the educational value of the characters we researched. The value of character education that we examined in these two novels is on the value of honesty, religious value, tolerance value, discipline value, and hard work value. As a suggestion, both novels are very good to read because they contain the story of children's struggle to achieve their dreams to be successful in the future. These two novels are very inspiring and can foster a sense of enthusiasm, never give up, tolerance, religious observance, loyal friends, cooperation and hard work in living daily life. Robust and efficient subsampling algorithms for massive data logistic regression

Datasets that are big with regard to their volume, variety and velocity are becoming increasingly common. However, limitations in computer processing can often restrict analysis performed on them. Nonuniform subsampling methods are effective in reducing computational loads for massive data. However, the variance of the estimator of nonuniform subsampling methods becomes large when the subsampling probabilities are highly heterogenous. To this end, we develop two new algorithms to improve the estimation method for massive data logistic regression based on a chosen hard threshold value and combining subsamples, respectively. The basic idea of the hard threshold method is to carefully select a threshold value and then replace subsampling probabilities lower than the threshold value with the chosen value itself. The main idea behind the combining subsamples method is to better exploit information in the data without hitting the computation bottleneck by generating many subsamples and then combining estimates constructed from the subsamples. The combining subsamples method obtains the standard error of the parameter estimator without estimating the sandwich matrix, which provides convenience for statistical inference in massive data, and can significantly improve the estimation efficiency. Asymptotic properties of the resultant estimators are established. Simulations and analysis of real data are conducted to assess and showcase the practical performance of the proposed methods.

Input sensitivity on the performance of configurable systems an empirical study

Widely used software systems such as video encoders are by necessity highly configurable, with hundreds or even thousands of options to choose from. Their users often have a hard time finding suitable values for these options (i.e., finding a proper configuration of the software system) to meet their goals for the tasks at hand, e.g., compress a video down to a certain size. One dimension of the problem is of course that performance depends on the input data: e.g., a video as input to an encoder like x264 or a file fed to a tool like xz. To achieve good performance, users should therefore take into account both dimensions of (1) software variability and (2) input data. This paper details a large study over 8 configurable systems that quantifies the existing interactions between input data and configurations of software systems. The results exhibit that (1) inputs fed to software systems can interact with their configuration options in non-monotonous ways, significantly impacting their performance properties (2) input sensitivity can challenge our knowledge of software variability and question the relevance of performance predictive models for a field deployment. Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Novel Kado Terbaik karya J. S. Khairen dan Implikasinya dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA

This study focuses on the values of character education in J. S. Khairen's novel The Best Gift. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel The Best Gift by J. S. Khairen and are embodied in Indonesian language learning in class XII high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using data collection and analysis techniques in the form of text analysis. The results of this study present the values of educational character in the novel The Best Gift by J. S. Khairen. The findings in the novel The Best Gift by J.S.Khairen are 15 indicators of character education values, religious values, honest values, tolerance values, discipline values, hard work values, creative values, independent values, recreational values, curiosity values, respect values. achievement, friendly or communicative values, peace-loving values, environmental care values, social care values, and responsibility values. The results of research on educational character values in the novel The Best Gift can be designed in the form of a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in Indonesian language learning in SMA in class XII even semester with KD 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of novels and KD 4.9 Designing novels and novels by paying attention content and language both orally and in writing.

Symbolic Capital of Power and Character Education Values in the Novel “Pasung Jiwa” by Okky Madasari

This study examines the symbolic capital of power and the value of character education in the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari. The source of data in this study is the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari, while the data are in the form of phrases, words, or sentences that contain forms of symbolic capital of power and the value of character education. Data collection techniques used in the form of reading, library, and note-taking techniques, while data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings obtained from this study consist of (1) forms of symbolic capital of power which are symbolized by position, image, social status, and authoritarian parenting to perpetuate their power; and (2) character education values, namely religious character values, honest character values, and hard work character values.

IMPLEMENTATION OF EDUCATIONAL VALUES IN BOARDING DARUL FALAH AL WASHILAH MEDALEM SENORI TUBAN

The purpose of this study is to describe how the values of the pesantren are instilled in the Darul Falah Al-Washilah Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a qualitative method. The research results show that; 1) The values of Islamic boarding school education include sincere values, honest values, hard work values, responsibility values and tolerance values which are used as the basis for the behavior of all activities in Islamic boarding schools; 2) Integrating the values of Islamic boarding schools in subjects in schools and Islamic boarding schools; 3) Internalization of the values of Islamic boarding school education which are instilled in all pesantren residents and school members. The strategy used is through habituation and integrated training through extra-curricular activities and the creation of a culture of character in Islamic boarding schools. Moderate value planting is implemented in several methods, namely; first, diniyyah education, namely the recitation of the yellow books taught by several ustadz. Second, joint takror, namely repeating the subject matter that has been taught by the kiai or ustadz by asking one of the students to read word for word, then the other listens and corrects if there are errors in reading.
