Research on Accessible Design of Macau Museum for Disabled Groups

In today's society, the social or environmental problems that need to be solved and iteratively changed by people are becoming more and more complex. Along with the rising level of people's social life needs, people's demand for cultural life becomes more urgent, and museums become a brief habitat for people after work and study. The problems faced by people with disabilities in museums are not only about accessibility, but also about communication and interaction with other people and exhibits in the museum environment - the problem of barrier-free interaction. This study aims to explore the accessibility design of the Macao Museum, analyze the current situation of the hard and soft accessibility design of the Macao Museum, elaborate on the problems of the accessibility design of the Macao Museum, uphold the concept of humanized design, propose improvement strategies, and strive to help the disabled groups integrate into the public in their daily lives as much as possible through the humanized design of accessibility in all aspects.

The Indian Ayurvedic physicians knew the concept of inflammation dating back to 1500 BC. The continuous progress in the immunology of inflammation has explained its undiscovered mechanisms. For example, the discovery of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in humans (1997) has revolutionized the field of infection biology and innate immunity. The laboratory mice have shown twelve TLRs and express TLR10 (CD290) as a disrupted pseudogene, and humans have ten functional TLRs. Now, it is well established that TLRs play a significant role in different infectious and inflammatory diseases. Skin inflammation and other associated inflammatory diseases, including atopic dermatitis (AD), acne vulgaris, and psoriasis, along with many skin cancers are major health problems all over the world. The continuous development in the immunopathogenesis of inflammatory skin diseases has opened the window of opportunity for TLRs in studying their role. Hence, the manuscript explores the role of different TLRs in the pathogenesis of skin inflammation and associated inflammatory diseases. The article starts with the concept of inflammation, its origin, and the impact of TLRs discovery on infection and inflammation biology. The subsequent section describes the burden of skin-associated inflammatory diseases worldwide and the effect of the geographical habitat of people affecting it. The third section explains skin as an immune organ and explains the expression of different TLRs on different skin cells, including keratinocytes, Langerhans cells (LCs), skin fibroblasts, and melanocytes. The fourth section describes the impact of TLRs on these cells in different skin-inflammatory conditions, including acne vulgaris, AD, psoriasis, and skin cancers. The article also discusses the use of different TLR-based therapeutic approaches as specific to these inflammatory skin diseases.

Do Green Building Standards Meet the Biophilic Design Strategies?

Energy efficiency in buildings, comprises many things as mitigation effect of global warming and climate change, decreasing heat island effect in the built environment and also conservation of natural resources. Besides as a new phenomenon we should add biophilic design criteria to the green building tools to increase human productivity by considering human wellbeing. Biophilic design, which inspired by nature, is a new juvenile design concept that gains importance day by day because of its positive effects on human wellbeing mood and relatedly human productivity. Here some conflicts can be occurred between energy saving and human wellbeing; as natural ventilation and energy saving. Biophilic design comprises inherent human inclination to affiliate with nature. All sensations which help to be in contact with natural components as daylight, plants or some animal species like birds; plants occupy an important place in its definition. Biophilic design seeks to create good habitat for people as a biological organism in the modern built environment that promotes people’s health, fitness and wellbeing. Scientific studies reveal that contact with nature has significant effects on people’s physical and mental health, performance and wellbeing. This phenomenon has, an increasing importance more than ever before, especially in daily life. The need for beneficial contact with nature continues in today’s built environment. This paper aims to determine whether the biophilic design strategies are match with green building tools that mostly targeting energy saving in built environment. Also paper handling whether the 14 biophilic design patterns are match with 3 main mind-body systems that are; stress reduction, cognitive performance and emotion mood preference.

Strategic Directions of Environmental Management in the Region

In the article the author scientifically justified the choice of strategic directions of environmental activities in the region, which provide the formation of a real trend of gradual improvement of the environmental situation.
 The author uses a variety of methodological tools. The tools include methods of analysis, generalization, design, statistical methods.
 Aggravation of environmental problems requires regionalization of environmental policy, regulation and management of natural resources in the long term. Currently, the need to develop an effective strategy for environmental protection in the region is being actualized. Environmental consequences of economic activity arise and manifest themselves in a particular area. The local nature of anthropogenic impact on the processes of reproduction of natural resources and the state of the environment require the search for ways to effectively solve environmental problems, taking into account the characteristics of natural factors and conditions of the territory. It is necessary to analyze the specifics of the production and spatial structure of the regional production complex. The development of the environmental strategy provides for the definition of the environmental mission of the region and its ecological image of the future. When developing the strategy, priority environmental goals and objectives are selected. These tasks are then detailed in specific environmental programs. Further, the mechanism of their implementation is developed, the analysis and evaluation of the results and consequences of the implementation of programs are carried out. At the same time, the ecological mission of the region and its ecological image of the future are based on the analysis of internal and external factors that affect the formation of the ecological situation in the region. Further opportunities and threats for ensuring ecological safety of development of regional economy and habitat of people are revealed. The authors consider the regional environmental program as the main tool for planning, forecasting and practical implementation of regional environmental policy. The regional environmental programme facilitates the coordination of environmental activities in the region. Regional programs are developed within the framework of long-term forecasting and include strategic interests of Ukraine.
 The conditions of implementation of the environmental strategy in the region and the problems of creating economic tools to stimulate environmental protection measures, modern legal support of environmental policy are analyzed. The authors identify the features of financing environmental activities in Ukraine and explore innovative aspects of environmental safety of the national economy.
 The researchers revealed the place of the ecological subsystem in the structure of programs of socio-economic development of the region, analyzed the basic methodological and methodical bases of formation of the strategy of environmental protection in the region. The authors scientifically justified the choice of strategic directions of environmental activities in the region, which provide the formation of a real trend of gradual improvement of the environmental situation. The recommendations on improving the management mechanism of the regional ecological and economic system are substantiated.

THE LAW OF FOREST IN INDONESIA: PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION OF FOREST FIRES

Forests have significant function related biological diversity, habitat protection of flora fauna such as orangutan, tiger, elephant; climate-related functions such as carbon sequestration, air pollution; human settlements, human health, school activities, habitat for people, rural livelihoods; state defense as natural resources such as commercial industrial wood, non-wood forest products, international and national trade; ecotourism, recreation. However the problem in Indonesia is forest fires. In order to maintain its functions, all the famers, forestry-concession owners, government, local government and private enterprise should prevent and suppress the forest fires through the existing law and regulations such as Constitution Law of 1945, Act Number 5 Year 1990, Act Number 22 Year 1999, Act Number 41 Year 1999, Act Number 1 Year 2009, Act Number 6 Year 1994 and Act Number 17 Year 2004 and aircraft operation conducted by foreign aircraft such as Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Russia and Singapore to assist Indonesian’s forest fires. The Architecture of Kazan in Graphics of the Tatar Satirical Magazines “Yashen” and “Yalt-Yult”

One of the positive phenomena of mo­dern culture is its tendency to study and preserve urban space, which is especially important for historical cities. The appeal of researchers to the study of urban landscapes, made by artists of pre­vious eras and left for descendants to see the views of large and small ci­ties, contributes to the process of lost monuments reconstruction. The importance of studying images of cities through visual sources is determined by the fact that cities are territories connected with lives of people, who are involved in creation of their architectural monuments. Ci­ties are the habitat of people that reflects their daily life. The article, for the first time, explores the features of the Kazan urban art of the early 20th century reflected in graphic works of the Tatar satirical magazines “Yashen” (“Lightning”) and “Yalt-Yult” (“Sparkle”), published in the early 20th century. The drawings presented in “Yashen” and “Yalt-Yult” are illustrations to articles and feuilletons.Most of the drawings are made in the genre of cartoons, which is predetermined by the studied ma­gazines’ subject matter. Mainly, architectural objects depicted in the cartoons of “Yashen” and “Yalt-Yult” magazines do not have an independent meaning, they are only “present” in picture’s composition in order to show an event from the city’s life more clearly. Another group of the Tatar satirical magazines’ drawings represents the ima­ges of the architectural structures that illustrate texts of advertisements. In this group’s graphics, depiction of architectural monuments is characte­rized by careful elaboration of details due to the reconstruction of the architectural structure’s image through visual memory. Because of the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century, the main part of the Tatar population of Kazan lived on the territory of the Old and New Tatar Slobodas, the authors of articles, feuilletons and cartoons in the magazines mainly reflected the life of those parts of the city.The research is based on the study of fundamental works and publications of Russian scientists and the analysis of the body of sources: articles and dra­wings from the magazines “Yashen” and “Yalt-Yult”, archival materials.

Cartography of flood hazard by overflowing rivers using hydraulic modeling and geographic information system: Oued El Harrach case (North of Algeria)

El objeto de este estudio es la gestión del riesgo de inundaciones mediante el uso de cartografía de riesgo de inundaciones por ríos caudalosos. La cartografía se obtiene mediante aplicaciones de simulación modernas, como el modelo hidráulico (HEC- RAS) y la aplicación informática de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) ArcGis. El estudio se aplica en los alrededores de Oued El Harrach (norte de Argelia), objeto de varias inundaciones que han generado pérdidas humanas y materiales considerables. Estas pérdidas son consecuencia del uso de zonas inundables como zonas residenciales, pudiendo evitarse en el futuro en la zona de Oued El Harrach con la ayuda de cartografía del alcance espacial de los riesgos de inundación. Por ello la importancia de la cartografía desarrollada en este estudio como herramienta esencial para los gestores en prevención y protección en materia de riesgos de inundaciones.

Social Ecology, Genomics, and African American Health: A Nonlinear Dynamical Perspective.

This article offers a model that clarifies the degree of interdependence between social ecology and genomic processes. Drawing on principles from nonlinear dynamics, the model delineates major lines of bifurcation involving people's habitat, their family health history, and collective catastrophes experienced by their community. It shows how mechanisms of resource acquisition, depletion, and preservation can lead to disruptions in basic metabolism and in the activity of cytokines, neurotransmitters, and protein kinases, thus giving impetus to epigenetic changes. The hypotheses generated from the model are discussed throughout the article for their relevance to health problems among African Americans. Where appropriate, they are examined in light of data from the National Vital Statistics System. Multiple health outcomes are considered. For any one of them, the model makes clear the unique and converging contributions of multiple antecedent factors.

Passive solar houses in Northern Nigeria: The west African sub-region

The habitant bill of rights, defined the qualitative issues connected with design of houses and their groupings into new communities as a supplement to other codes and regulations which have attempted to define qualitative issues relating to the building industry. In Birnin-Kebbi, a town in Sokoto State in Northern Nigeria, there are evidences of low quality in design and planning of houses, relative to environmental influences, like weather and regular seasons. It has been observed that the weather condition in this part of the country is prone to dry and hot climate from early February to June. This period gives residents in the area a perpetual experience of living amid extreme dryness and exhaustive heat as from midday to midnight throughout the period. It needs, therefore, the refreshing coolness of people's habitat and surroundings. From the end of June to September, the planting and harvesting season respectively, the weather is fairly good with intermittent rains and showers sometimes accompanied by strong winds and storms. In early October, when the heat varies, powdered dust particles are brought from the Sahara by the Harmattan winds. The Harmattan period extends as far as January when an ambient temperature within the interior could go as low as between 8 and 10°C thereby requiring heating. From the above observations, the inhabitants of this area are definitely faced with problems of designing and constructing suitable houses that will cope with this varying climatic condition such that the minimum hardship is suffered during both the hot and Hamattan periods while employing minimal mechanical cooling and heating devices, respectively. Hence research is undertaken into exploring the design and construction of a passive solar house to meet, or at least to give, solutions to the problems of the inhabitants in relation to the ever changing yearly weather conditions. The research takes note of the characteristics of a typical one-bedroom house, simple to construct with 75% local input value. It also takes note of the performance of the house, all typical features of a modern day residential house with all amenities powered by renewable sources of energy, particularly solar. The house is relatively cheap, simple to construct and above all the running cost, in terms of energy needed, is very low.
