Routing Strategy of Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Network Based on Hyperbolic Geometry

The integrated satellite-terrestrial network has the characteristics of large scale, complex, high dynamic and heterogeneousness. Adopting traditional routing methods in the integrated satellite-terrestrial network will cause problems of poor scalability and large routing overhead. Greedy forwarding strategy based on network mapping with hyperbolic geometry works well in large scale network. However, there is no study on applying the network mapping with hyperbolic geometry to complex networks beyond two dimensions, including the integrated satellite-terrestrial network. Based on the method of spherical polar projection, this paper proposes a hyperbolic coordinates mapping algorithm in three-dimensional geographic space suitable for the integrated satellite-terrestrial network. This algorithm gives nodes of heterogeneous layers in the integrated satellite-terrestrial network a unified expression based on four-dimensional hyperbolic coordinates, which helps to quickly identify and locate nodes without global information distribution and scheduling when routing. The routing strategy using greedy forwarding strategy based on this algorithm only costs low storage overhead, as it does not need routing tables. Simulations demonstrate that the performance of the algorithm is hardly affected by the exponential expansion of the network size, which means the property of scalability is excellent. Also, it is stable under heterogeneous network structure, and maintains a stable routing success rate for optimal path selection around 93% with a time complexity of O(n).

Use of ICT and Develepoment of Tourism Sector in Albania

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is increasingly playing an important role in developing a competitive economy based on knowledge and innovation. Use of ICT enables the provision of a higher quality of citizen’s life; it helps ease and efficiency of business processes and increase the efficiency and transformation of management. The use of ICT in different sectors of the Albanian economy has begun to be realized rapidly, improving economic and financial performance and expanding the range of services that are offered to users. ICT has been used massively also a sector which in Albania brings an important impact on GDP it is the tourism sector, however, it is noted that the use of ICT in this sector is at levels lower than in other countries of Europe as well as the region. The use of ICT and the Internet in the tourism sector in the world but also in Albania has enabled the creation of a new business environment, the global distribution of information as a very important element for the tourism sector and the creation of new channels of distribution, transforming the tourism sector globally. The tourism sector in Albania, which is competing strongly from neighboring countries after the period of its establishment and strengthening, currently faces the challenge of the massive use of ICT in the provision of information and the enhancement of services for its clients. The purpose of this paper is to evidence the level of use of ICT in the tourism sector in Albania, and based on analysis of data collected, presents recommendations on the use of ICT in the sector, aimed at increasing performance, expanding services and improving the quality of services provided to customers.

Development of Mass Media in Kazakhstan

Global integration process influenced the development of technologies and the extension of the information industry around the world. Due to technological innovations borders of delivering information between sectors of traditional systems of mass communication are changing. This process will lead to the creation of new mass media systems. In the space of extending mass communication sphere the press and broadcasting are considered as the “old”, traditional mass media, the appearance of new channels of delivering information and the information, based on a digitalization, are defined as the “new media”. Global distribution of information and communication creates opportunities for free communication at different levels: vertical, horizontal, network, mass and individual. Models of change of media systems in Kazakhstan and abroad become similar, and the tendency of globalization plays an important role in this process. It is difficult to distinguish the mass and personal form of communications. But the consumption of new media has more individual and interactive character.

Psychophysiology of dissociated consciousness.

Recent study of consciousness provides an evidence that there is a limit of consciousness, which presents a barrier between conscious and unconscious processes. This barrier likely is specifically manifested as a disturbance of neural mechanisms of consciousness that through distributed brain processing, attentional mechanisms and memory processes enable to constitute integrative conscious experience. According to recent findings a level of conscious integration may change during certain conditions related to experimental cognitive manipulations, hypnosis, or stressful experiences that can lead to dissociation of consciousness. In psychopathological research the term dissociation was proposed by Pierre Janet for explanation of processes related to splitting of consciousness due to traumatic events or during hypnosis. According to several recent findings dissociation of consciousness likely is related to deficits in global distribution of information and may lead to heightened levels of "neural complexity" that reflects brain integration or differentiation based on numbers of independent neural processes in the brain that may be specifically related to various mental disorders.

Ways of educating, informing and networking with health professionals about nutritional sciences: The Nestlé Nutrition Institute

The aim of the Nestlé Nutrition Institute (NNI) is to deliver latest scientific information in the area of nutrition and health and to provide training for capacity building and continuous medical education. The NNI is a not‐for‐profit organization which is run separately from the business.The information provided is based on educational needs which were identified by consumer research. Results led to restructuring the content of the NNI website by nutrition topics. Consequently traffic to the site doubled over a 6 months period. All information and training is prepared by independent experts in their fields. Global distribution of information is achieved via the website, distribution of materials by a global NNI network reaching out to tens of thousands of health professionals. E.g. a recently published practical guide book for pediatric nutrition (Pediatric Nutrition in Practice) has been distributed over 60’000 times.The NNI plays a role in education of health professionals by organizing nutrition trainings in the field of clinical nutrition and mother and child nutrition, a global scholarship program and accredited continuous medical education. Since the NNI supports these activities in conjunctions with renowned institutions and societies (e.g ESPGHAN or NASPGHAN) it can be an important partner to lever and foster ongoing efforts in nutritional education in the academic and public health sector globally.

Early emergency response by means of dispersion forecasting – emergency management of the Deutscher Wetterdienst in the context of national and international agreements

Abstract Based on results of the numerical weather forecast models; the DWD (Deutscher Wetterdienst, German Meteorological Service) is immediately able to calculate dispersion forecasts in the case of an emergency with an emission of radioactive inventory. This information is essential for the management of further countermeasures. There are legal agreements between the federal states of Germany and the Federal Government regulating the mutual aid. For the emergency preparedness system RODOS (Real Time Online Decision Support) the results of the numerical weather forecasts are provided and complemented by medium-range dispersion forecasts. In the framework of the German computer network IMIS (Integrated Measurement and Information System for the Surveillance of Radioactivity in the Environment) the results of trajectory calculations are presented graphically within 10 minutes, those from the LPDM (Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Model) forecasts within 30 minutes. In case of a nuclear emergency, global distribution of information via the WMO (World Meteorological Organization) communication system GTS is part of international agreements between IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and WMO, thus giving the DWD a key role. The commitments of the DWD in managing nuclear emergencies in the framework of national and international agreements are presented, as well as internal emergency arrangements.

Characteristics of Change in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy: A Cognitive-Psychological Perspective

Milton H. Erickson's approach to hypnosis and psychotherapy has established itself as a therapeutic paradigm in recent years. As its popularity grows, however, myths and misconceptions about his approach have also emerged. Some of them claim falsely that Erickson's therapy consists of nothing more than a set of quick, symptom-management formulae. To understand Erickson's hypnotic psychotherapy in a proper context, a systematic review is warranted. In this article I have examined, from a cognitive-psychological perspective, four of the major characteristics of therapeutic change underlying Erickson's work: (a) self-efficacy, (b) spontaneous compliance, (c) cognitive/experiential reorganization, and (d) global distribution of information. Drawing on Erickson's original writing, this paper integrates his published cases into an existing theoretical and empirical framework. Clinical implications are also discussed.
